Hemalaya Tandoori Restaurant in Newham

Ordered a tikka dupiaza and a murgh chicken, got a tikka chicken and a regular dupiaza (which is cheaper). Dupiaza was bad. Tikka chicken was ok, paratha was ok. Tried a new place but will go back to my old place. This wasn’t particularly cheap either.

La comida era demasiado picante a pesar de que no especificamos demasiado, el servicio no fue el mejor y el personal no usaba guantes ni máscaras todo el tiempo. Una cosa buena fue el naan de ajo. En general, una experiencia decepcionante.

Describiría Hemalaya como su clásico restaurante indio local. Amplia gama de platos que consisten en todos los nombres familiares que esperarías junto con una impresionante variedad de especialidades de la casa, ¡algunos de los cuales son 'galardonados'! ! Toda la comida que pedimos estaba bien preparada, sabrosa y generosa en términos de tamaño de la porción. Las botellas grandes de Cobra tienen un precio honesto por debajo de 5. 00, que hace un cambio refrescante desde tantos lugares que cobran precios de estafa en estos días. Varios artículos como naan, arroz, etc. estaban todos bien. Las samosas vegetarianas fueron un poco decepcionantes. Muy básico con mínimo relleno. En general, hace el trabajo bastante bien.

Nous avons vraiment bien mangé, dans un cadre agréable, avec un personnel très sympa. Les différents riz étaient parfaits. J'ai mangé avec un plat de poulet à la mangue vraiment délicieux. Restaurant à recommander sans hésiter.

Comida sabrosa y buen servicio (el restaurante no estaba muy ocupado) un almuerzo de marzo. Es una pena que no haya oferta de almuerzo para hacerlo más atractivo. .

First, they call you to say the food has arrived and they do not deliver to your flat, you have to pop down to get your food. Then they ask for a tip... even though they do not deliver to your door. They didn´t include a couple of things, didn´t answer online or to emails. The food is average and the service is the worst I have ever seen. I am not ordering food here ever again.

We hebben hier zaterdag gegeten op aanraden van de verhuurder van onze b en b. Heel er goed. Erg leuke en aardige bediening. Beste Indiaase keuken die ik ooit gehad heb.

We stopped by for a quick lunch here on a Sunday. The food was great (North Indian curry and Lahore curry) and the service was quick and friendly. The only issue was that we were the only patrons there so the place had no atmosphere.

Visited with a friend early Saturday afternoon.This is a nice enough Indian restaurant improved by a recent refurbishment with friendly, efficient service. The food was of a reasonable standard and on a par with other traditional local Indian restaurants but certain dishes could be better. The lamb tikka starter was a little dry and some pieces were quite chewy, the lamb in the lamb Bhuna from the cheaper end of the menu was a bit rough, the pliau rice was a particularly small portion and the peshwari nan was a disappointing flat, small, round affair, visibally indistinguishabe from a paratha. The quality of nans is often reflective of the quality of the restaurant and this was nothing like the wonderfully big puffy examples with crisp bases that one finds in the best Indian restaurants. Having said that, the onion bhajis were good and chicken tikka massala was faultless. Our overall impression was that this is an average Indian restaurant which could easily upgrade to excellent if they could improve the quality of some of their dishes.

Had an ok meal before but this time had a really disappointing meal. Limp fish, tough, red lamb and poorly cooked veg. Will not be ordering again.

This is the favourite spot for Synthesis Chambers Solicitors' staff to have their "working suppers"; delightful staff, wonderful selection of food and beers and (best of all) fabulously good value!

Now called Himalaya. Service and food very good. Attracts south asian diners which is always a good sign

I ve been using this restaurant for over 25 yrs, and I am no Longer a customer, I ordered tandoori king prawn masala, which was unrecognisable , did not look like prawns to me, the curry sauce was a disgusting dark brown watery liquid which was thrown down our toilet, the lamb curry didn't taste like lamb and was disgusting, the chicken Korma, was tasteless in a curd like sauce, the salad was in a plastic bag and was warm and disgusting and gone off, it would have fit in an egg cup the amount was so small, just piece onion and 1 slice tomato I suggest the envoimental health should visit the restaurant to check out exactly what it is they are serving up, I didn't eat anything, because I couldn't recognise what I was eating, will NEVER visit or order from this restaurant again, it was only 60 pound but I may as well have thrown it in the bin, so GOODBYE FOR GOOD..

I've been in this restaurant for dinner and it has been a nice experience! Typical indian food, a bit spicy but really excellent. Waiters very very kind and friendly. It's situated in Stratford, just some minutes by walk from the train station. To try!

I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years and the food and staff are excellent. Tonight I ordered a delivery the man on the phone had trouble understanding me. The food arrived on time but it was lukewarm warm and the chicken tikka was dry as a bone. Will go back to the restaurant to see if the standard is still the same.

After our poor expericnes ar Spice In, We tried this and found it much better. The staff was good and served the food professionally. The food was slightly more priced but the quantity of the dishes was also better. Overall liked the food.

I have now visited this white tablecloth restaurant on 3 occasions when I was in Stratford, East London and it serves delicious food in generous sized portions at very modest cost. It has obviously been in business for a very long time but is not located in a fashionable destination favoured by curry lovers which is a pity as it deserves more custom. The staff are very professional and polite and will serve you on a little trolley like they always used to in the more traditional establishments. My chicken tikka balti was beautifully flavoured - the chef isn't stingy with the ingerdients and obviously doesn't cut corners.
