The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

Food as always top notch, delivered on time, BUT portion size has been halved, was so disappointed when we opened trays, same expensive price for half the food, will not order again.

Absolutely fantastic experience in this restaurant, the staff are lovely & very accommodating, it was my son’s birthday & kindly we were in the function room, which we were allowed to decorate for the occasion, air conditioned, blue tooth connectivity for music. The food was delicious. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.

The Rami is my go to curry house, I am there quite often.. This is good because I always know that I am going to have good experience. This is bad, I get bored eating the same meals over and over again (they are excellent meals, but I do need a change). This visit, there was nothing on the menu that I really fancied, and I asked the staff for a recommendation. They recommended a sweet and sour Fish curry, but I do not eat fish.. not a problem, they can make it with chicken.. how hot did I want the curry? WOW - how many places can you get a custom meal! Never had sweet and sour curry before, it was interesting and I would try it again, maybe a little be a little braver with the curry level. The staff provide excellent service, the food is presented an tastes really good, I really like the ability to change the spice levels.

My favorite Indian in Chelmsford. Always really good service by the staff. The chicken Korai is favorite dish………………..

Very noisy. Long wait for food - draughty Food is good Man vaping at next table waiting for takeaway. Not told to leave Disgusting.

Me and my friends decided to try this small Indian restaurant and it was a terrible decision. Not only were we incredibly uncomfortable as we were the only people and we were receiving non stop death stares, but also because a couple of us decided not to order and they felt like it was acceptable to behave with such disrespect and inconsideration. Claiming by not ordering we are draining them financially. Avoid at all cost

This is the third time I have had to update my review. This place went downhill fast when it was sold to new buyers, but fortunately, the old owners are back and the food and service is back to how it used to be. My favourite is the chicken tikka bengali which is probably the best curry I've ever had . Portion sizes back to normal and the discount when picking up makes it my choice of indian 👍

Sit in usually ok but last couple of takeaways crap no meat all sauce and onions like leftovers elevethough quick delivery and I only live round the cdontorner is not that don't know if got a new chef as used to be one of the nice ones

We have had a takeaway/delivery a few times. The service is excellent and the food is the best Indian takeaway we have had.

Ordered at 9:30 on a sunday. Closing times were 10:30, food never arrived. Phoned up the next day as id already paid. I was ok about it at that point. So we agreed they send the food on the monday evening. Recieved the food 1 and a half hours after the call. Food was awful. The naan wasnt fresh, it crumbled like a doey mess. Then the chicken tikka masala was sour. Like theyd used bad coconut milk or something. The rice tasted weird too. It was all in all the worst experience yet. Felt ill for hours after They seriously need to up their game. I wont be ordering there again and advise anyone against doing so.

Food was late, cold, and very clearly just reheated from frozen ready-made packets. The naan were awful. Not a single thing was made fresh. It's absolute slop. Edit: Owner is making things up in their reply. I was waiting outside, there were never any police anywhere, and the interaction with the driver as he pulled up was "Here you go", "Great, thank you". It's astounding that they felt the need to type up an action movie plot to justify that their food is bad.

I don't normally write reviews but I’ve got to say this, the whole concept work on so many levels. , very authentic and tastes delicious Amazing food, the flavours were the best fresh ingredients are used and you can tell a lot of pride and passion has gone into each dish Pretty impressed I'd recommend THE RAJ at Maldon to anyone to try, you will not be disappointed or hungry!!! One of the curry and all sort of Indian food I’ve ever tasted . My whole family and I love their food and we’ve been a customers for many years as well as most of my mate . Just to mention that all food are cooked freshly by a decent respectful family as they do cook from heart. You feel like you eat at home and what a great amazing customer service if I could give more that five stars trust me I would . Thank you to THE RAJ AT MALDON & everyone at this lovely restaurant specially to the MUM AND DAD for the best food I've had in a long, long time! WE ARE VERY LUCKY TO HAVE AMAZING AND DECENT GENUINE FAMILY WHI COOK CROM THEIR HEART.🙏🙏❤️❤️
