The food was very tasty. Such a shame it took 1 hour 20 minutes to be delivered and when it arrived one of the dishes was missing. We were told the missing dish would come in 20 minutes but after 50 minutes and two calls to the restaurant it still didn't arrive. This was our first time trying this restaurant and it's a real shame as the food was really nice, but the service was not.

Sorry but I def won’t be booking for Christmas food from you. I’ve just had this which is chicken tikka masala. It is 5 pieces of chicken in what I can only describe as vile soup. I get you do 50% off but I would rather be able to eat it than literally throw it away like I’ve just done. Very disappointed

Star of India Halsted take away , this is not a restaurant, take away only, collection or delivery, I collect why 50% discount at the moment, great pricing long may that last. Food is delicious I have onion bhaji which you get 4 in the place, nice starter, chicken tandoori stater always yummy, main course chicken danasak very nice good lumps of chicken, nicely spiced, vegetable pilau rice is so nice. Yes I will be back keep up the great food, The establishment itself is clean friendly staff what more do we want. More of the same thank you.

We have never eaten here before and decided to give it a go on a whim. It’s quite “basic” inside and nothing glamorous, but it’s clean which was a huge bonus. Upon looking at the menu it is a little unimaginative and made up of the usual dishes, nothing was really grabbing me as something I’d never eaten before somewhere else. The beer was ice cold, and the popadoms fresh and the chutneys good, so far so good. Our Curry’s were hot and tasted good, the only disappointing thing was the onion bhaji’s they were very soft and greasy, not crispy as usually dished up. Overall, the service was good, the food decent and prices very reasonable. It’s just not a particularly impressive eating environment.

The Star of India is a fantastic discovery hidden away in the middle of Halstead. The food we ordered was delicious. Huge portions too ! And even better, 50% off our total because we collected our order. What a bargain ! This place is a little treasure. Highly recommend.

I’ve no idea what I just tried to eat in my chicken dansax It was appalling I’m not even sure it was chicken it was unbelievable chewy and didn’t even taste like chicken it was gross Phoneing them they didn’t give toss Never again

Ordered a delivery as staying in an AIRBNB- the driver who worked for the restaurant directly threatened the property owner that he was going to come back WITH A GUN because they were bickering over his irate and rude attitude. This is absolutely insane and a criminal offence. No words to explain such a threatening escalation.

The chicken was tough and fir a tikka masala, so oily which was a shame but also very watery... Not a lot of flavour.... In fairness I've made better at home... Such a shame. But won't be going again

Food was 25 mins late , was cold , naga tikka masala was not spicy , popadom what popadom came was a 1/4 or one . Very disappointed called and was told 50% off next meal does this make you want to go back ???

Best Indian meal I have had, tasted really authentic. We had Chicken Tikka, Chicken Madras, Sag aloo, Mushroom rice, naam bread. More than enough for two, leftovers were delicious next day!! Definitely go again!!

We had STAR OF INDIA last night and was amazed how good the food was, it was reasonable and very quickly delivered, by far the best we've ever had and will certainly be using them again, thank you very much guys for a superb meal....*****

Absolutely brilliant takeaway they should open a restaurant. So so good i we ordered lamb pathia (vindaloo hot) kashi lasan pesh naan special rice.

Only ever tried a takeaway, but it was fantastic, in portion size and taste 👌. They are now my favourite takeaway, and I hope to try the restaurant one day.

Food was good. Fast delivery...only downfall the big bottle of coke was really out of date so it was flat.

Ordered the set meal for two, first time ordering at this take away. Food was fresh, warm and delicious, with good sized portions and well packaged. Will definitely be using this take away again, the best Indian meal we have had in Halstead.

I can’t really fault the delicious tasty and flavoursome food. The potions are more then adequate which is great if your sharing or it’s your first time trying the dish. Delivery was on time as of last time experience with no issues.

I'm 32 weeks pregnant me and my partner ordered food and it did not turn up we then called today and you lied saying you did come and no one answered and apparently tried ringing the phone also LIES but said you'll deliver the food today , 2 hours later we call to see where you are and you said because we have given you a bad review on just eat you won't deliver the food unless we take it down and you'll deliver it in 2 days, disgusting behaviour, robbed for money DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE

Hi. Not good service. I called them . They hang up the phone, no answer. Packing is not good. When i try to pick up food from bags it's all fall down in my kitchen. Better another food factory. Don't use.

Ordered from here for the first time. Excellent curry! We had multiple dishes and all were super tasty. Think I’ve found my new regular curry house. Hope these guys can continue producing food to this standard.
