The best restaurants serving Indian food in East of England

Ordered a takeaway from here, all of the food had no flavour whatsoever, could have easily spent our money on a much nicer flavoursome indian. Will not be ordering again

Was told on Xmas Eve that the takeaway closes at 10:00pm. When I called at 09:45 I was told that driver had gone home & the takeaway was closed. The owner is a rude little upstart. Pity it would be difficult for me to justify an order from these guys again.

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, and the food and service have always been excellent. However, the prices have become quite steep compared to similar restaurants in the local area. They also have a branch in Canary Wharf, and it seems they charge the same prices at both locations. Unfortunately, London pricing in Loughton doesn’t quite work—it feels out of step with the local market. While we still enjoy dining here, we no longer come in large groups as we used to. We hope the management takes a closer look at this pricing discrepancy.

A great experience in a one of restaurant. This place is amazing, the food is authentic Indian food. I’ve tried the fish dishes and the salmon tikka is cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The paneer starters is very nice too, the samosas are unique and much better than you normally get in an Indian restaurant. The curries are superb, Bombay potatoes are so nice. The side dishes are not the same portion size as you would expect, but they are ample for two people and we aren’t big eaters. The cost is reasonable and definitely worth getting the loyalty card. The management are lovely people, they’ve worked hard to maintain a Great restaurant. I like that they are able to explain the history behind the dish and ingredients used to make the dishes so special. They also open Christmas Day, we’ve eaten there on Christmas Day and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed and great food again. One of the best restaurants in Maldon

Guys you need to try this place you won’t be disappointed. Everything is amazing. A little different and that makes the difference the mock tails at delicious 😋

We think this was the best Indian Takeaway we ever had 5 ⭐️large Biriyani ( mixed with no pineapple), soft lamb, chicken too, most authentic we’ve had, as they put the omelette on top too 👍👏

We ordered take out from here. Arrived a few minutes after told to and we were made to wait for another 25 minutes. The food was good. But we were charged twice for an item and now can’t get through to them on the phone to resolve.

Tasted like authentic Indian food . Will order again

Fabulous Beer (Brewed in there own brewery) and excellent food coupled with a fantastic atmosphere & friendly staff that make you feel welcome

The best takeaway in and around Essex we travel from stevenage Hertfordshire just to have the best curry food around they have just won an award for best takeaway and they well deserve this award as the staff I.e molly and the manager make us want come back we go there once a Mth

You can walk into The Spice Lounge & be seated quickly, or you can book in advance, or order a delivery. I felt completely safe eating in, as the restaurant currently has seating spaced to adhere to Covid restrictions. The food & service is amazing, even though they are curently running a mid-week deal, meaning you save a lot of money off the bill. When I ordered a delivery I was pleasantly surprised, as normally deliveries from any restaurant is never as good a quality as dining in, but the quality of the deliveries from The Spice Lounge found the food to be equal quality as dining in, which is very unusual for most deliveries The service for deliveries is also as good as it is when you eat in & I was surprised to find that the owner delivered our food, I know the customer should always be right, but these days that doesn't seem to exist, but this place will mix up the menu if required, they have a huge selection for meat eater & vegans, they cater for allergies & although they do not have soya milk they have no objection to you taking your own with you. On Sundays they do an amazing buffet, again very reasonably priced. The staff & owner do their best to make you feel comfortable & were really good with my autistic son. I cannot fault his restaurant, the food, or the service, as nothing is any trouble for them & it's done with a smile

Very weird experience. Arrived at 7 and ordered straight away. 50 minutes later we received our starter (if we had known the waiting times we would have ordered more food as we were starving by this point.) we enquired at this point how much longer for our mains and we’re told another 25 mins (not great, but ok.) 1 hour 50 after arrival we complained as still no word on mains. Told they were focusing on takeaways but mains should be with us fairly soon. Finally got mains 2 hours 10 mins after arrival. Insane! Then they tried to add obligatory service charge. Whole restaurant was sitting without food and everyone complaining. Food was nice and well presented

Absolute rubbish, have taken the money from my bank but no delivery and no answer on the phone, drove to find out where my food is and unable to get there to get into the shop

We visited with scouts as part of the chip shop survey Service was super friendly and food nice and hot. Thank you very much :)
