Had loads of takeaways from here, always get the vegetarian dishes and always delicious. V friendly staff.

I never leave reviews but I was shocked to see that queens tandoori wasn’t higher in theirs. I often get take away either collecting or have it delivered. The spice is perfect and the dishes are always full, with a nice amount of chosen meat or prawns within. They have always accommodated to changing small things around at my request and for local Indian food, it’s great. This isn’t a restaurant to sit in and have your meal, so this may be where they have lost some better reviews, but if you’re happy to enjoy it at home, you certainly will have a lovely meal.

Food tasty but luke warm also delivered paratha instead of naan bread. As it was also 50 mins longer to deliver than first advised am unlikely to use them again.

I tried the Queen’s Tandoori for the first time and the food was delicious. The medium size chicken madras was just the right size for me. The staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be eating from them again.😃

Food is always great and last time they missed a curry but were very forgiving and made it quickly on the spot! Will definitely be returning here the food and customer service is great!

Refused food as to late and had to eat earlier, resturant phoned us and complained that we turned them away, they gave no update they would be late , so their fault.

Easily my favourite curry delivery/take away in Colchester. Very yummy, always delivered hot, and the staff are polite and friendly. Added bonus, if you collect you can have a drink in the pub downstairs too.

King prawn jalfrezi only had two prawns in it, so I’m not quite sure how they could class it as a king prawn curry. Onion and lemon rice both greasy 100% will not order again from here. Absolutely disgusting food

First time I’ve order. Was very disappointed when the delivery driver explained that my food had leaked, was advised to claim back through just eat. Fully intended to complain until I ate my food and realised it was the best Indian food I’ve eaten in a good few years despite a slight leakage. 10/10 will order again and won’t be claiming anything because the food was incredible.

Food was nice flavoursome and hot. I will be using again.

Waited over 2hrs for a delivery, gave up waiting in the end and went somewhere else, we were really looking forward to a curry and couldn’t get through on the phone to them to find out what had happened or if we were even going to receive our order, so disappointed ☹️

Very poor meal if I'm honest. After calling to see if they was open as the internet said they was closed so couldn't order online. A woman answered and allowed me to place an order. Husband went and collected and the sauce was awful. We ordered a chicken tikka masala and that was not it. Being hungry and tired is put to one side and lightly consumed to our dismay. Will not be returning.

Ordered and paid online and told pick up in 20 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes after ordering and would expect it to be ready on arrival only to be told its not ready and you need to wait another 20 minutes. Why tell me 20 minutes when in fact its 50 plus minutes. There is absolutely NO customer service at this place, the guy was rude and then got the order totally wrong. Only 2 out of the 9 things ordered were correct.

One of the best takeaways I have had.

I had asked for delivery at 19:35 as I knew we would be out . At 18:50 the delivery driver rang and told my wife that the food would be left outside the house on our garden floor. We got it on our return, it was luke warm. Heated in the microwave it was still quite nice. But certainly not what I paid £40 for.

This is the nicest Indian I've had since I was in India. I will be using again!

Biryani was very good, really nice veg, enjoyed the meal. Only disappointment were the samosas which were quite small for the money. Will order from them again.

Couldn't get much worse to be honest. Really disappointed and will not be using or recommending their service again. Also cheeky, that JE app stated our food was delivered 45 mins before it actually arrived 😪 Don't waste your time

Food was 2. 5 hrs late and needed to be heated upon arrival. Called the restaurant 5 x and was hung up on, on one occasion so called back to complain. My food was OK although the naan wasn't what I ordered, husbands naan lacked filling. Won't be ordering from them again especially after a £4 delivery cost

Phoned restaurant who stated they had missed the order. Although it was shown as accepted. They then brought it after the phone call. Food quality not bad when it did arrive.

Food was cold when it arrived. Was 1 hour 15 mins late. Called the restaurant and said it wouldn’t be much longer in face was another 30 mins after the phone call. 2nd time ordering from here as I gave it the benefit of the doubt as the first time was 45 mins late too. Wouldn’t order from here again.

Just exceptional. This has always been my favourite Indian takeaway and has always delivered fantastic food which is always hot and filled with flavour. I highly recommend this restaurant 11 out of 10.

Had about 50 curries from the Queens Tandoori in the last few years. Quality seems to get better and better, always tastes fresh and lovely service.

Good quality and decent portions. the takeaway is situated above the queens head pub but operated separately. it's used by the locals so it must be ok and I have never had a bad meal from them. Delivery available.

The Queens Tandoori is without doubt the best Indian takeaway in Colchester. We have tried over 10 takeaways for indian food and have been dissatisfied. The food quality from Queens is exactly the same each time, the portions are substantial and again are consistent. We will continue to recommend the Queens Tandoori. 5 stars!!!!

Was a very nice meal. Couldn’t find Bombay potatoes as I want to have these but I assume this is a just eat issue. Was very delicious and much enjoyed. A must recommendation for an Indian takeaway in and around Colchester area ;)

Just had a delivery and after waiting 2hrs I ring them to ask where the meal was.Apologies, I think, was very difficult to understand but they would sort out mistake.5 mins later meal arrived on opening it was stone cold so reheated it as was hungry.I can only conclude they had left it and forgot to deliver until I phoned and think it's a bit steep to charge £3 delivery on top when I am less than 2mins away by car.Sorry won't be using again .

Delivery was well over the latest arrival time, phoned up the restaurant and they blamed the driver and instead of taking responsibility recommended I came to collect next time.

Been ordering food from here for 8 years + , it is a fantastic takeaway and the food is absolutely delightful, no bad experiences what so ever, the family that run this business are always welcoming.

No sauce on prawn cocktail, 1 portion of chips missing and turned up half an hour late

Was so impressed with this restaurant the first few times but like most take aways they have become slack. Naan bread was too doughy and chicken too dry. Really disappointed as we thought we’d finally found a good, reliable Indian take away. Maybe they will turn things around as originally would have gone as far as to say best curry I’ve had !

Wow , just moved to Fordham and tried queens tandori for the first time . Try collection for 10 % off and the chance to meet the lovely young family running the place . Food went down superb

A bit hit and miss this time. Arrived half hour early (even though confirmed for the ordered time) so was cold when we got to it as it arrived during the baby's bedtime routine. Chicken dishes tasted good but a few bits of scraggy chicken. Puri bread was overcooked so crunchy.

Good food but delivery took 90 mins.. food was still hot.

One of the best Indian takeaways around. Perfectly cooked chicken and wonderful tasting curries. You can even go for a pint in the pub below while waiting. Highly recommend.

Food was slightly better than my last Indian take-away but the wait wasn’t worth it. when calling the restaurant chasing my order, they blatantly lied to me saying my order had already left. it arrived 30 minutes later when it should only have taken 5 minutes. I won’t order there again..

Food was Hot and really tasty as usual from here. Only problem we have is that the popadums usually taste like they have been reheated from another day previous a bit chewy and oily sometimes. Also on this order i ordered a chicken dansak and when opening bag i was sent a chicken dharka not what i ordered.

Waited for 2 hours and finally got through to them after calling 100 times. They said that their chef was very tired and they didn’t have enough delivery drivers so it was going to be another hour!! Cancelled my order.Such a bad experience.

3 times I have ordered and all 3 times 25 minutes have been added on to my times only for the food to still be 20-30 minutes late with no apology from driver or staff!! Other than that food was great

They couldn’t find my address so I spent 15 mums on phone to them giving instructions he couldn’t understand me he drove past me three times then he parked up I said I’ll be down in a minute he then drove off didn’t even attempt to deliver my food then I called him back saying I’m out side waiting and he was rude food was warm delivery was late wouldn’t order from them again it wasn’t the food that was bad was the service!!!

Manager and staff very rude would not take my calls after him being in the wrong and accepting responsibility previously. Incorrect orders delivered many times and would not take responsibility on putting it right after them saying they would do. Would never go back there again and certainly would not recommend them I'm sure the papers will love to hear this story!!

Very hit and miss....A real shame as the only curry house in the village so could do really well. We've given them a number of chances....frequently forget items we've ordered. If you order from here, check the cost carefully before you order as it's never the same twice. Oh, and they charge 90p for card payment over the phone but less on line??? No extras (I. E poppadoms...even after they've messed up a previous order). In short, avoid. Many better ones in Colchester who value and look after loyal customers.

Not enough meat in the Masala & too sweet for my liking, but otherwise seemed like good quality. Shame it took nearly two hours to arrive and rather expensive; probably wouldn’t order again.

Our food never arrived, we got a very rushed call to say the delivery driver finishes at 8pm and we didn't get a chance to offer to collect. Like other reviewers before us we agree the Customer Service needs attention. Sadly we didn't get to sample the food, but we won't go back.

Lovely driver apologised for being early! Tasty food,- pilao rice a little overcooked but it smelled wonderful with the star anise in it. Tasty prawn puree, but would like less oil. popadums nice and crispy with extra servings of mint sauce and onion salad. Thank you, Queens Tandoori

Wrong order turned up they tried blaming me for it, wouldn't rectify the order were rude and hung up the phone on me. Terrible service do not use this takeaway!!

Like most take seats in Colchester, they failed to deliver on time. This is one of my pet hates! The food was really nice though. and plentiful.

I called and the lady barely spoke english and I asked her where the food was... she said the driver was on his way Then the driver called me 10 mins later and said he was leaving now and didn't know where he was going I called the lady back and asked why she had lied and also for a partial refund/speak to the manager She said manager would call me back shortly Nobody ever rang Driver called again as got lost and had used wrong address to find me then kept interrupting when I was giving directions... food was ok when it came but not even a complimentary popadum which you usually et from restaurants that want your custom again Didn't want to leave bad feedback as I wanted to resolve with restaurant but they clearly can't be bothered to contact me so they can read it on here

Not sure what happened but the food had an overwealming taste of vinegar and we were unable to eat it., as it was too acidic. A real pity as it was delivered on time by a nice polite guy.

The food was nice the only downfall was that it was late and the customer service. I phoned the restaurant to ask how long is was going to take and they weren't helpful and were making out like I hadn't actually ordered from there even though I have paid and have a receipt and told me to phone back in 10 minutes, luckily my food arrived but after getting off the phone I felt like I've paid for an order that was never being delivered.

Its a shame, last time we ordered you missed a bag of chips and this time by thebtime the delivery driver had walked round, the food wasnt that hot :(
