Apna Punjab in Central Bedfordshire

Very weird experience. Arrived at 7 and ordered straight away. 50 minutes later we received our starter (if we had known the waiting times we would have ordered more food as we were starving by this point.) we enquired at this point how much longer for our mains and we’re told another 25 mins (not great, but ok.) 1 hour 50 after arrival we complained as still no word on mains. Told they were focusing on takeaways but mains should be with us fairly soon. Finally got mains 2 hours 10 mins after arrival. Insane! Then they tried to add obligatory service charge. Whole restaurant was sitting without food and everyone complaining. Food was nice and well presented

Have been to Apna 3 times now, and every time has been an absolute pleasure. The food is fantastic, the service is always attentive, and the food is priced very reasonably. Authentic Punjabi food cooked wonderfully.

The food was not upto expectations Having read loads of good reviews we visited Here’s my take. Friendly staff, reasonable atmosphere, easy parking. Limited menu, cooking not to an Indian restaurant standard, poor quality meat - example mixed grill chicken thighs and wings - no lamb, no chicken breast. Lack of dishes with a sauce most of the sides you’d cook better at home. No flavour experience, big service charge and very slow service. Opportunity to rethink the menu add more variety and use quality meats.

Unbelievable food. Best Indian for miles guaranteed. In another league. Simple menu as well, not thousands of different Currys like other places. Clearly passionate about what they do as well and were really happy to see we enjoyed the food. Very good value as well

This place is actually one of the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of eating in and taking away from, the food was absolutely perfect one of if not the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten. The staff were very welcoming and very friendly, the time that it took for our drinks and food to come out to our table was very fast. Overall a very top class and lovely place to go in and eat not only for takeaway but being in the restaurant was also really nice with very nice decor inside the restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

A smaller, basic menu (compared to a lot of Indian restaurants) makes it a lot easier to choose! Chicken curry, lamb curry etc……. And then say how spicy you want it. Simple!! Starter (prawns, huge meaty prawns) and main, chicken curry were fantastic. Our group ordered a selection of sides as well, all great. Staff were all very attentive and friendly. It’s different to your usual Indian, definitely worth a go!!

We wanted to go here on recommendations via friends and it did not disappoint! The staff, service and in particular, the food were great. The range of food available stands out from what you could expect from a “typical” Indian cuisine restaurant. Everything tasted fresh and were packed with flavour. Definitely recommend the king prawn starter and the salmon curry. Will definitely be returning!

Great tasting, well presented food. Attentive service including the head chef coming out to check customers were happy with their orders. Very good value and able to cater for allergies / intolerance. Would definitely recommend and will be frequenting.

It’s the sort of place you will only go once. Chicken wings cooked from frozen, sheek kebabs were tasteless. Bog standard staff curry cooked in a big pot, with mutton lamb.

Excellent meal. Just might be the best curry I’ve had! Can’t recommend this place enough. Small menu but each dish is expertly put together to offer a well balanced and delicious culinary experience. 5 out of 5.

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Apna Punjab, and it was truly a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality. The menu offered a diverse selection of Indian dishes, and I decided to try their Chicken curry and Garlic Naan. The Chicken curry had the perfect balance of spices, and the tender chicken pieces melted in my mouth. The Garlic Naan was freshly baked, and the aroma of garlic was tantalising.

Excellent food and knowledgeable staff. Some restaurants try to cram every indian dish onto their menus, this menu isn’t overwhelming, it’s well thought out with the customer in mind. The flavours in the dishes are very deep & rich not just spicy, can’t fault authentically cooked food

Got a take out for my father who is very particular about his Indian take away. They had a small menu but everything earthing has that proper desi feel. We went for the lamb , you can choose heat level and it was great had a proper authentic desi taste.

We went as a family of 4. Absolutely loved the food and service. Our son has an egg allergy and they really looked after him. Would definitely recommend different than the norm.

Been to the restaurant several times now and each time the Food and Service has been amazing. Fresh traditional Punjabi Food cooked perfectly, cannot wait to come back. Great menu with lots of classic dishes. Highly recommend Apna Punjab!
