The best restaurants serving Indian food in Bedford East of England

This is our "go-to" for treat nights, we've tried many local places since moving to the area 18 months ago and Grand India is the best by far

Popped in whist on business trip mid week. A warm welcome, attentive staff. Food was excellent. I got talked into getting an onion Bhaji by the waiter... they are massive. I was almost full before my main course so pace yourself. Nice place with a good atmosphere- thanks guys.

My favourite curry venue for over 50 years. Simply irreplaceable. It was the scene and setting for so many life events which were made, measured out and captured here. It's like losing an old friend. I wish you all well.

Had organised a musical even at the Cochin restaurant Bedford. It was a set menu. We were around 24 people. I had booked this two weeks before. But on the day the chef said that they don't have the samosa chat (that was supposed to be the starters for the vegetarians). They served some other starters instead. The food was not up to the standard. The veg korma gravy was very thin and hardly any vegetables in it. The chickpeas and korma tasted the same as same gravy was used. No rotis or parathas ( bread) was served...which we had asked for. The appam served was sweet :(.. Disappointed this time for sure.

Food was late and cold. Waste of my money

Good food and service, there were 4 of us and we all had a good meal and very reasonable prices. Will certainly go again soon.

I have used Malabar for several years and always had excellent food and excellent service .

Went to the Spices on a cold Friday evening service as we entered the restaurant was good as normal . We were then showed to our table , as we walk through the restaurant there was a noticeable drop in temperature and I quoted “ think it’s colder in here than outside “ We sat down and looked around , people had still got their coats and scarves on !!! Service and food was great as always , but the restaurant especially where we sat was much too cold to make a meal out enjoyable!!!! My wife kept her “flying jacket “style coat on the whole time we were there and towards the end of the meal people all around us were complaining to each other that they wouldn’t be visiting again in the winter as it wasn’t an enjoyable experience. Please , please , please Spices of Paradise can you sort out the heat in your restaurant and toilets as I feel it’s not at an acceptable level . I definitely won’t be back until the summer as there are loads of great restaurants around with heating on !!!

Ordered for the first time for delivery. Person I spoke to on the phone was very accommodating in slightly changing my order. The food was hot and tasty, not swimming in oil as other dishes from other places I have ordered from. The Saag Paneer with proper paneer not English cheese. Was also good value for money and arrived in good time. Will be ordering again.

This was the most revolting stomach churning bad tasting curry house order we've ever had. Burnt pellets of meat, dry burnt and undercooked rice. Stingy with vegetables and quantity and absolutely no flavour. I'm embarrassed for them, honestly...

The muntjac is great for two reasons, the Pub and the restaurant. As soon as you enter your greeted with a friendly community in the pub, then in the next room to the side of it you get the restaurant, full of friendly staff and a interesting glass display of a fish tank in old well, the food is decent and the service is moderate, only issue is the toilet hygiene is very neglected, other then that totally go there!

Zero stars. Got a mutton Puthi Biryani today from the recommendation from the person serving me, was tasteless bland and just fragrant white rice with 3 pieces of mutton (1 of which was bone and fat). Total waste of £12, worst Asian food I've tasted in my life. Hope this doesn't reflect south Indian food. Please do not ignore the comments like me and do not try.

Ordered 2 kormas, pilau rice & 2 lamb birianis as delivery, took 30 mins as quoted, best meals we have had in a long time. Will order again & highly recommend.

Encontré un ganador. Había probado cualquier otro restaurante indio en Bedford, pero no había llegado a este lado del terraplén. Muy impresionado con la comida. El pollo nepalí fue un ganador y el servicio fue excelente. Puede parecer pequeño, pero los chutneys y las salsas pueden hacer o romper platos. El chutney picante provisto de los poppadoms y la salsa verde provista de la red eléctrica fue un combo perfecto de agridulce. Definitivamente volveremos de nuevo cada vez que queremos una comida india. Solo feedback es me gustaría ver algunos desiertos asiáticos más en el menue por favor : )
