Wilstead Tandoori in Bedford

Have enjoyed Wilstead Tandoori for 6-8 years, but unfortunately since new takeover in past 1 year the quality is seriously degrading. I’m one to not judge on one bad curry but after numerous ones over the last 6 months alone I thought it was worth a review. On the hope this constructive feedback will drive some improvements. Lastnight our order as an example was incomplete, the Naan bread was tough and wife & daughter couldn’t eat it, rice containers 25% empty so where I’d normally split a rice between our 2 daughters, this wasn’t possible. The chips were hard, hollow and tasteless. Mixed grill starter was swimming in grease, unfortunate I missed a further review below who had a similar bad experience with that dish. On calling up to challenge the missing item, they told me it was a bad signal, but they didn’t feel the need to check the order back with me ?!? They also agreed to send a new rice. Upon getting the missing item and new rice, the rice was wrong again !!! My wife on her birthday was left watching us eat our meal to have hers 40mins later, with rice she wasn’t keen on and cold naan. Hope situation gets better..

New to the area so I feel sad for saying this but it’s based on my order of two kebabs. Very little meat. Chips were dry and didn’t seem fresh. They came with the tiniest of a salad bag between us. For £15 I felt I had been severely done. Some may say “but you ordered a kebab from an Indian takeaway. What do you expect?” I would reply “If you can’t do it, don’t put it on your menu then”. If you can’t do something right, don’t do it at all otherwise you’ll lose your customer base.

Another great meal from Wilstead Tandoori! Always a treat, I'm very grateful to have them as my local Indian takeaway!

The food was excellent. We were disappointed that the curry portion was small. Other restaurants fill the container but this one was only 3/4 full. We can usually share a curry between two of us and this didn’t seem to be quite enough. We’ll be back though as it was so good. Really friendly gentleman at the counter.

Arrived late and food was stone cold

Food was excellent, good quality and not too heavy. Had to make slight amendments after order went through and restaurant were happy to help. Service was fast and quicker than expected. Driver was able to locate our new build home with no issues.

The food was nice but the lamb was not edible, extremely tough to chew and kinda spoiled it for me

Ordered tonight for me and my partner . We really enjoyed our meal the spicy korma was very tasty and the Bombay aloo was lovely . We loved the flavours of all our dishes. The food was high standard and we hope it continues with our future orders as you now have some loyal customers :)

Food was alright but unfortunately very greasy and oily from donner to starter

Murghi tikka masala and garlic naan were perfection, probably my go-to. The portion of prawns was quite small.

Best Indian food I have had since moving to Bedford. My husband and I have tried different Indian restaurants in the Bedford area and have never been happy with the food. We were really impressed by the tast and quantity of the food given to us by Wilstead Tandoori.

Best curry house around. A genuine tandoori oven which is hard to find in the UK.

I'm new to the area so thought I'd try my most local establishment. So glad I did. One of the nicest Indian meals I've had 10/10!!!

Some dishes good, some not good. Also order clearly not looked after by delivery driver as an oily dish had leaked all over the other dishes making it a right mess to clear up before even being able to serve up. Disappointing really.

There was onions in the tikka which I requested not to be there.

Ordered 2 chicken tikka masalas and the chicken was dry and tough, onion bhaji was oily and the free bombay aloo Had spilled in the bag over everything else, Ordered a keema cheese naan and only received a keema I'm a regular customer and this is the worst meal I've ever Ordered from here

Ordered with an estimated 20-30 minutes delivery time from Just Eat. Was given an estimated 40-60 minutes after I paid. They cancelled after 45 minutes.

Food wasn't that warm (we live 3.5 miles away). Tandoori was quite bland as was the korma. The free cheese chilli nuggets weren't tasty. We spent £46 on meal so were disappointed. Unfortunately, won't order from them again.

Yuck! Dishes were cold,full of sugar and salty. You need to up your standards. Would not recommend. Feel as though I have thrown my money in the bin.

I pre odered my food and it arrived on time however it was one the worst I've ever had. The pilau rice was dry, the chicken korma had massive slices of breast in it like from a carved roast chicken. I expected the korma to contain small chunks of chicken thigh and fresh coriander. The tandoori chicken was also dry. Basically everything tasted old and reheated. Definitely not fresh. Rank!!

I placed an order a few weeks ago. I ordered a chicken tikka masala which was lovely , however jalfrezi wasn’t very nice and I was confused as to why it had jalapeños in it.

Very watery, sent wrong items, not hot temperature

Absolutely disgusting! Food quality was shockingly bad. Arrived cold, we live 5 mins away. Items missing from our order. Terrible never takeaway. I wouldn’t even give it a 1 star but unfortunately you have to!

We have always ordered from here for the last 8 years however our two recent orders (last Saturday and today) haven’t been good. The poppadoms were burnt, the chicken tikka masala was lacking flavour and so was the chicken balti. Last weeks order was also tasteless. Such a shame as we are very local but will now go elsewhere. We have no complaint about the service and delivery was in the time specified through just eat.

We have ordered from Wilstead Tandoori many times for large family gatherings. The food has always been delivered hot and fresh and everything on the order has been recieved with plenty of extra sauces enjoyed by all!!! Thank you WT
