Booked to go Saturday night with friends, wasn’t overly busy when we arrived but soon filled up. Venue is lovely and is very clean, staff friendly enough, bathrooms in very good order. So started off not great, chap taking the drink order was having trouble understanding what we wanted (2 pints of larger, coke and Diet Coke) to drink. At least the drinks did arrive correct. Then came the food order and again the chap was having trouble, so much so a younger waiter took over. Food arrived with no mistakes but did have to wait for a couple of dishes as it didn’t all come out together which is not good, especially as one of the dishes was rice so couldn’t really start without it, or should I say we didn’t want to. If Im honest my chicken madras was very bland which is very unusual for here normally it’s full of flavour, maybe it was because the owner wasn’t working there this night or they were just having an off night. Will we go again, yes as I’m hoping this was just a bad night for them.

We attended here for a big family banquet. We ordered several tawa dishes. I was not too keen on the chicken tikka, the rest of the food went down well. The staff were attentive, the service was reasonably speedy. It was a good family get together.

Food was excellent, service not so good. We were celebrating a friend's birthday, we felt extremely rushed, plates were being removed before everyone had finished eating . No plates should be moved until everyone has finished. Bill was produced without asking if we would like coffee or dessert. When you go out for a meal you don't expect to be treated this way.

We visit here as often as we can as we live 200 miles away. The staff always take their time to make us feel welcome and have a chat. I have never come across more accomodating staff and it's definitely the best curry I have ever eaten. My son has additional needs and has a limited diet. Without asking, the staff bring his poppadoms and rice out as quickly as possible so he isn't waiting for his food. And then as soon as he's finished his food they bring more. I couldn't recommend this restaurant and their amazing staff highly enough. To anybody that's thinking of visiting, do. You won't be sorry.

We’ve been here three times now and felt the need to give them a glowing review!!! We’ve eaten in, and taken away, and the food here is top notch. How they are not the top Indian restaurant in the Whitchurch area I do not know. They ARE the best Indian restaurant in Whitchurch, hands down! 👏🏻

Visited as we’d received a recommendation and were going to theatre nearby. First impressions were excellent, stylishly kitted out and a warm welcome from the staff….then it got even better! Lovely menu (lots of slightly different options too) and when the food arrived it was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We really can’t fault anything….and we’re pretty picky! I had the honey chicken and it was so so tasty. The portions sizes are very generous too. The service was excellent and the prices very reasonable indeed. I really hope this restaurant thrives as they’ve thought of everything and deserves to do well. We’ll definitely come back when we’re next in the area. Thank you for a superb meal

I had never tried Chandini before but friends had recommended it & I can see why. The food was full of flavour and had that freshly prepared feeling. I would have given them 5 stars if there had been more king prawns in the biriyani - I think I only counted 4. However, everything was enjoyable and certainly a cut above the other takeways in Sawbridgeworth.

Lived in Middlesbrough 53 years and never visited this restaurant before. Booking is essential, there is a small team that works here and the owner prepares the food himself therefore failing to book could result in long waits. This isn't an "in and out" restaurant, this is a "get there early and plan to spend the night with drinks and great company" type restaurant. The food was delicious, we over ordered and I brought home leftovers for dinner today. Jamal made us some starters that weren't on the menu as some of our party wanted Chicken Tikka Chaat. He made it from scratch on request. Price was reasonable £110 for a party of 4, and we over ordered: - 8 poppadoms - 4 starters - 5 main courses, 2 side dishes, 2 rice, 3 breads - 6 soft/non-alcoholic drinks Quality for price - great value Thoroughly enjoyed it. Will go back again

Probably the most tasteless curry we have ever had. We were expecting exceptional because of the queue for takeaway, tandoori chicken starter was dry and tough, shema kebab was burnt, peshwari naan was very dry, both curries we order were almost tasteless. Rice had no seasoning, we will not be back. A special evening ruined.
