After exploring Falmouth for most of the day … we searched for an Indian restaurant on Trip Advisor & booked Shanaz for 5:30 pm It is a lovely restaurant … the welcome was great & the staff were very helpful. It was probably the best Chicken Tikka Balti I have had !! It was a bit expensive @ £45 for 2 curries … 1 rice … 1 Naan Bread & 1 Leminade … but worth every penny

Me and the wife are on holiday in Newquay and couldn’t find a Indian with good reviews, so search the internet and found shanaz. Just under a 30min drive and I can honestly say it was absolutely beautiful, staff was very professional and polite, nothing was to much and met all our needs. We will definitely go again before we go back home to nottingham next week. If u are looking for an authentic Indian, this is the place to go.

Oh, this was gorgeous. We just had a takeaway that my husband picked up for four of us. It was, without a doubt, the most delicious Indian food we've had in years. Tasty, true to the description, so very delicious. We will definitely be back again!

I took my wife out to a concert at the Hall for Cornwall, Truro - a post Christmas/New Year treat for us both, including dinner at The Shanaz in the treat. It was early evening - 6.45pm. The restaurant was noticeably cold. We ordered drinks and food. On arrival - the food was not hot (no pre-heated plate table warmers) and by the time we wanted to put additional food onto our plates - it was more -or-less cold. The quality of the food was "mediocre" I did not want to complain to the waiter (who was extremely nice) -or upset my wife - as this was a "special occasion" However, on arriving home - my wife thanked me for the "special treat" but on exchanging notes - we both agreed that we were jointly "disappointed" with the meal - and when I told her what it had cost - she was not pleased.

Visited for the first time to celebrate a birthday. There was 10 of us & we had pre-ordered. The service was exemplary. We weren’t rushed & the atmosphere was relaxed. The food was great. A couple of us had the Panasia chicken which was moist & tender. A couple of the party are fussy eaters & tried it & both loved it. Family also had korma’s, Bhutan & jalfrezi & all were enjoyed. The only disappointment was the deserts. They are just very frozen ice cream & nothing to write home about. Would definitely go back.

I have been a customer of Shanaz for something like thirty years, with my work colleagues and my wife, and have found it to be the very best Indian restaurant I have experienced. (I am seventy-seven and have enjoyed Indian restaurants in London and elsewhere for most of my life). Unfortunately, something has changed since my last visit some months ago. My wife and I (who live some forty miles from Truro) were not far away one weekday evening and decided it might be nice to pay a visit so phoned and booked a table. (Just previously the restaurant had announced its sudden closure but hadn't advertised that it had re-opened). We arrived and were shown to a table quite as usual, one other table was occupied, and we ordered our meal, which was pretty much the same meal we usually order. The service (by a new waiter) was perfectly as expected. The food, however was not. Firstly, my wife and I always start with a popadom each with the accompanying pickles/sauces but, on this occasion, the pickles/sauces were completely different from those which we've always enjoyed before and, not very good quality. We have different main meal dishes (my wife is vegetarian) together with a rice, potato, dhal and naan bread all of which were very bland and uninteresting, all of this accompanied by two beers for me and two glasses of wine for my wife. The meal was VERY disappointing for both of us. The most shocking part of the evening came with the bill which was over £80!!!! This was a huge shock because, in the past, our bill has never been more than £55. NEVER. Unfortunately, I think that, approaching eighty, we won't be driving to Truro any more for an Indian meal, which, after all these years, is very disappointing.

100% Excellent food , Excellent staff , we have eaten here many times now we can only say try it, ourselves and all our friends & family agree . The food is so tasty unlike some Indian Restaurants bland you can taste all the different herbs and spices, and their sizzling dish are my favourite, with a ice cold draught Indian lager . While traveling throughout the UK and having the opportunity to explore Cornwall, this was without question the finest meal we had on our adventure. Not only was our meal essentially perfect, but when paying our bill, I casually asked our wait person about the 'orange coffee' listed on the menu, which led to the most fascinating, in depth explanation of exactly how they make the coffee - the type of liqueur used and the differences of each. Samples were then offered with an encouragement to taste and compare - something simply unheard of in this day. If in Truro, Cornwall, go to the Shanaz Restaurant , relax for a while and enjoy.

Wow I’d go as far to say this was probably the best Indian meal I’ve had , the flavors were delicate but delicious, cooked to perfection, comfortable atmosphere, staff attentive

We had a chicken tikka masala takeaway last night and it was very poor. The sauce was very watery and tasted incredibly bland. The nan breads were tough and rubbery and the side dishes were also very bland what a disappointment. We’ve had this takeaway many times in the past and the masala usually has a thick deep red sauce and tastes lovely. Sadly this is not the first time this has happened and can only assume there is more than one chef, one is awesome the other ?! I’m afraid it’s just too much money to waste and we will not be coming back.

We had a wonderful dinner at Shanaz. This was because of the fantastic food. Every dish was a delight. But it was the staff that got us there. We told them what we (4 people) liked and disliked, and they steered us perfectly to the right dishes. Wish we lived here!!!

We went on invitation from our youngest son and his fiancée, whilst waiting for them to arrive we got talking to the gentleman and told him what we liked, he recommended additions to our food, it did not disappoint, so a big thank you to this person. I can’t have anything spicy and had the makhani, it was just right, my husband had the chicken biryani with a bit of heat, he really enjoyed it. A lovely atmosphere, and we will return again

Gorgeous decor, fabulous service, delicious authentic specialities, this is a high end Indian restaurant in the heart of Truro (park by the Magistrates Court nearby). All very covid-safe, well ventilated and distancing adhered to. We will definitely be back.
