Visited tonight and had a lovely meal. We arrived 30mn early and the staff were happy to accommodate us. The restaurant is welcoming, clean and a nice relaxed atmosphere. Food was really tasty and plentiful with good service.

Had a brilliant meal at this restaurant with my wife,daughter and son-in-law on my birthday. Food and service was very good and must say its one of the best I have been to.

Lovely atmosphere, great service and fantastic food. We had a great time on our first visit here and will definitely go again. I like mildly spicy food and chose my starter and main course accordingly but the spices were used so well in both - the food was tasty and the spice flavours came through without being overly hot. A really delicious meal. Service was efficient and friendly.

We've used Chandini's for the past 5 years now as a takeaway and to eat in the restaurant and it's normally really good. We ordered a takeaway on a Tuesday night and waited over an hour and 25 minutes for our food to be delivered. When we phoned up to chase our order, (the timer on the website had counted down to zero and we still hadn't got our order 10 minutes later), the man on the end of the phone was unbothered and told us it would be there in 3 minutes time. Another 15 minutes later and it finally arrived with no apology from the driver (who looked like he was one of the waiters from the restaurant)! We shouldn't be having to call up for our delivery when we've paid for that option, it literally came once we'd called which makes me think the order had been ready and waiting. This really put a downer on the meal but we won't be returning, which is a shame as the food is great but the service was appalling.

Always delicious. A very high standard. Our favourite Indian restaurant for miles around. We live about half an hour away but still come back to Chandini as nothing nearer is as good

Large group for a birthday. Welcome was not friendly, felt uncomfortable to ask our waiter for anything due to his stern demeanour. Food took about an hour & half, even though the restaurant was very quiet. When the food eventually arrived it was very tasty, but atmosphere & evening spoilt by unpleasant waiter. I've been to this restaurant before and always had a lovely evening, so I'm disappointed to say I will not be returning.

Food was cooked well however menu was very bland with hardly any signature dishes and just the usual standard Indian meals. Very overpriced for what was essentially just a bang average meal. Would also note the restaurant itself has zero atmosphere. Far better Indian restaurants in the local area.

This is by far one of the best Indian restaurants there is .Staff are warm and friendly excellent customer service and the food is consistently outstanding .Great value for money wouid highly recommend have never had a bad experience here .

We visited this restaurant whilst staying locally after an emotionally charged day after a family funeral. The food was excellent and d the service exceptional - the weather was appealing, and the waiter even gave us a lift back to our hotel after our meal. What’s wonderful place! Thank you so much.

Food we had was excellent but a very small menu would like to see some fish and duck on it but chicken and lamp and some prawns . We went on a Saturday night and unfortunately a group of people where on the next table and the noise was crazy the ladies where so loud as soon as we finished or meal we left not trying the seats or waiting for coffee Maybe better in the week

We have been dining at The Chandini ever since it opened, many years now, and have seen its reputation grow and grow. Every time we have friends over they always want an Indian from the Chandini (I sometimes wonder if they come for the food or to see us lol!). Consistently delicious and always accommodating, if there's anything not on the menu just ask. Yes prices have risen as they have everywhere but their fine dining quality really gives them the edge. The Lamb Noorjahani comes highly recommended!

We live just around the corner of the restaurant, we have nearly tried all the dishes on the menu, they are all amazing and unique not like all the other Indian restaurants in the area. Reluctant to give a bad review but felt I needed to. Visiting family who live in High Wych my sister ordered a takeaway, I chose the King prawn tikka masala, from an old menu which quoted £14 just for this dish but was actually £19. What spice other than turmeric do they use for colour which is a very unnatural bright red? Also the menu says a creamy sauce using spices.....what spice is sickly sweet? Tikka should not be sweet so was it sugar or coconut and if so why not say it is a sweet dish. No fresh coriander or sliced almonds or cream dressed the dish. The Okra says (ladies fingers) which is always served whole not sliced into 5mm rings! My sister ordered a special chicken dish which she tried to explain what she liked but again very disappointing as the chicken came chopped up so finely that the overall look looked awful. This restaurant came recommended however it must be the worst takeaway and at £41 a very disappointing meal.

The quality of food here is much better than most other indian restaurants ive tried before. This place is not my nearest indian, but we always travel here becuase the quality of food is amazing. Ive now eaten here with just my partner, up to large parties of 12 and the standards are consistent. Im always happy to pay a bit more if the quality is better, and this place you definitely get what you pay for. Takeaway is the same great standard also. would recommend in a heatbeat

Another lovely visit to Chandini. I order online which is dead simple, can pay for the food online and it'll tell you how long the wait is. The guys are very friendly and pay particular attention to social distancing so no issues there and the food is absolutely great.... Paid my first visit to Chandini tonight for a takeaway. Staff were turned out immaculately and social distancing was expertly obsverved at all times. Most importantly, the food was excellent. I will most certainly be returning for future takeaways and cant wait to pay a visit to the restaurant when we are able. Well done to one and all.

Chandini in High Wych have been very helpful in offering takeaway services and even home delivery.Their food in this genre is every bit as good as the excellent meals in the restaurant, which we shall be revisiting as soon as things loosen up enough.Prompt delivery, including wine if needed, is their hallmark.Keep it up guys and we will see you soon.

We ordered a delivery but it was very disappointing - expensive and not at all as good as we have had in the past. Very bland and despite requesting a Nepali which used to be on the takeaway menu, it didn’t taste as we had in the past. Won’t bother again as not worth the additional expense.

Spur of the moment visit and not as good as hoped. Menu is relatively small in comparison to other Indian restaurants and is just pretty standard in choice. My usual dish is generally very tasty and spicy, but labelled here as mild? I really dislike artificial colouring on food and my dish was red! Not happy, and to be honest, pretty bland. Nothing felt like it was freshly prepared, just a sauce slopped on top of chicken. Prawn dish was ok, labelled as medium heat, yet not at all spicy. Strange little place. The spicy papadums felt like they came straight out of a packet and onto plate via a microwave . The plain was fine as was the dips but then £3.50 for 3 with dips, slightly excessive for me. The shashlik we ordered didn’t even come with a salad and yoghurt sauce I would normally expect. For me the restaurant lacks that quality touch. No tablecloths, was pretty cold certainly on table by ladies toilets and just lacked any atmosphere. It’s out in the sticks I would never return as it’s just not worth the extra miles for us which is a shame.

Small but excellent menu with interesting variations such as Masala 65. Very good food and price. Service can come across as a little off hand/aggressive but think it may be more cultural than deliberate. Also you can be left to fend for yourself so if you really want a desert or coffee or the bill keep on waving!!

Poor table lay out! No ambience, so slow bringing out drinks and food. The removal of discarded glasses and plates almost seems like a chore.

The team at Chandini make every visit special and the food is absolutely delicious and served with pride. If there is something special you want, they will make it for you. A real gem.

I travelled out of London to meet a friend and picked Chandini through Trip Advisor as a half-way point. We both ordered prawn dishes which came with enormous meaty prawns and a lovely sauce. Mine was the Chingri Raj. A really nice combination of prawns, vegetables and sauce (not spicy). Very good portions too so two mains (+ rice) and 3 poppadoms later, we were full. The staff were very attentive at all times and service was quick. The staff were patient too and had to come back several times to get an order from us! if I lived in this part of the world, Chandini would become a regular with me. Enjoy

I highly recommend eating at Chandini's, there is a great choice of Indian cuisine including vegetarian options. I have just tried their Quorn Tikka Balti Palak, it was delicious! I will definitely order that again. The service at Chandini's is always friendly and if you're unsure what you want, they will recommend dishes to suit your tastes.

A very large group of us (25) went to Chandini to celebrate a reunion of colleagues. Everyone wanted different things and the restaurant coped with us on a very busy Saturday night admirably. Service was friendly and efficient. All tastes and dietery requirements were catered for.

We’ve just ordered a delivery, online from their very user friendly website. Description of food matches what you get and the food was simply sublime. Unlike many Indian restaurants where the food is over spiced or completely bland, their food was subtly spiced to perfection. We had ‘special instructions’ that were followed rather than ignored and the time chosen for delivery was met to the minute. Will not hesitate to order from them again soon and am just annoyed I’d not found them sooner.

The Chandini is in High Wych, around a mile outside of Sawbridgeworth, so you need a car to get to it (there is some parking in side roads that visitors can use). It’s certainly worth a visit; I met a friend there and spent a pleasant three hours here.

Went to the local restaurant with our son to celebrate the new year. Waited nearly an hour to get our starters whilst listening to the automated ordering system repeatedly saying 'you have a new order', and constant phone ringing for takeaway orders.

My boss and I had dinner at Chandini. He had visited the evening before with a larger group and had recommended it again for dinner the next night. We had excellent and authentic Indian food that was flavourful and with appropriate portions. The Indian beer was excellent and the service was wonderful. A bit out of the way, but if you are around the Manor of Groves resort area, it is a short walk and a shorter drive. Highly recommended!

Have eaten India food all over the world just come back from Sri Lanka and this place is very average onion barge dry and all food only warm we eat there on Sunday around 6pm I think a lot of the food had been cooked and kept warm will not return they are a lot of better Indian restaurant near by .service was good but you can’t eat the service
