The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Indian food

I've been coming here for years and it's as good as it was when I first started coming. Hidden gem, small, discreet and full of small place quality Unfortunately, closed down which is probably a good thing cos since I wrote this review it's gone right down hill. Apparently cos of the ridiculous rising rent, but that's Lauriston for you.

Fantastic restaurant that truly deserves a 5/5 stars rating. The food was brilliant, showcasing a delightful array of flavours. What stood out the most was the extensive menu, offering plenty of options to cater to every palate. Very friendly staff, thank you to Shaheen for the service.

I had an absolutely amazing time at Farzi Café. The food was phenomenal—bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and incredibly tasty. Every bite was a delight! A huge thank you to Pranav and Ved, who provided outstanding service, making the experience even more enjoyable. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail truly elevated the meal. If you're looking for a place that offers fantastic food and top-notch service, Farzi Café is the place to go!

American tourist visiting Coalbrookdale for 3 days. On the night of my first day of stay I had dinner at Aftab. The host was named Ahmed. Ahmed is a nice man. A local came by for a takeout (in England it is take-away). Ahmed seems to know his regular customers well. I ordered a prawn dish, a cauliflower & potato dish, and garlic nam. Ahmed made a few suggestions. The food was great. I enjoyed the flavors. We discussed the relationship between the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. There seems to be tensions between Hindus and Muslims of the Indian Subcontinent. Like China the people of the Indian Subcontinent have an ancient culture, blood rivalries, and cultural divisions. People of under-developed countries need to understand that it is in their own interest to live in peace with their neighbors so their country can be stable. Without stability under developed countries cannot modernize.

All I can say is the food is just perfect. I always come here. All the others around here is just rubbish

Ayer llevé a mi pareja a Khai khai por su cumpleaños y toda la experiencia me pareció corta de regalo. La comida era buena pero el servicio era terrible, teníamos hasta 4 camareros diferentes quitando platos de nuestra mesa pero ninguno de ellos, ni la encargada, se nos acercó una vez para preguntarnos cómo estaba todo, si necesitábamos algo más, más bebidas, postres, etc. .. Finalmente después de esperar siglos tuvimos que pedir la factura nosotros mismos. Completamente ignorado durante toda la noche, diciendo que no nos lo tomamos como algo personal porque fuimos testigos de un mal servicio también ofrecido a las mesas que nos rodean. Definitivamente no volveremos, hay un montón de restaurantes en Newcastle que garantiza una buena experiencia gastronómica de un cliente, este no es uno de ellos me temo!

Saag and potatoes were just incredibly bland and just lacking in flavour. Waste of money as well as calories intake for the day. Wouldn't order from them again.

had a meal in the resturant on a saturday then a few days later had a delivery same order we had saturday but totally different in taste chicken tikka korai delivery was dry and was nothing like the one we had in the resturant so i would definaltely sit in rather than have take away

I recently visited Tandoor Mahal in Kingston upon Hull and had a really enjoyable experience. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed dinner. The staff were attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. We ordered a variety of dishes, including chicken jalfrezi, lamb rogan josh, and a vegetarian korma—all of which were full of flavor and nicely spiced. The naan bread was fresh and fluffy, and the pilau rice complemented the mains perfectly. I also appreciated the range of vegetarian options available. Portions were generous, and prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. Overall, a great place for a tasty Indian meal in Hull—I’ll definitely be back!

No poppadoms no draught beer and cash only which we were only told at end of meal so had to go to cash machine to get cash.

I have eaten at this restaurant for the last 20 years ( when they were operating in Treforest) I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal, EVER. The food has always been of the highest standard. I always have the buffet with an extra vegetable vindaloo on the side. We have formed a wonderful relationship with the proprietor and staff and the service is always first class. I have eaten Indian food for over 50 years and I can honestly say they are the best bar none. I have tried other restaurants, and can honestly say that one was worse then the other. This is an honest review and I have no connection with this establishment other then being a customer.
