Saag and potatoes were just incredibly bland and just lacking in flavour. Waste of money as well as calories intake for the day. Wouldn't order from them again.

If you’re ordering from Just Eat and the like thinking you’re getting ordinary Indian food then don’t bother. The popadoms and naan breads have definitely come from a plastic packet, and the chicken tikka masala (yes I know this doesn’t originate in India) tasted like a curry you get from a jar in a supermarket. It was genuinely the worst Indian I’ve ever ordered in my life, and I’ve ordered hundreds.

I ordered off this restaurant and did not receive any food. They claimed they attempt delivery and that they rang me on my mobile, both are absolute lies. I attempted to call and talk to a member of staff at the restaurant, but they fobbed me off and said to contact deliveroo, because this restaurant had said they had delivered the food deliveroo could do nothing for me. So Dera have stolen £33.54 of me. I am very upset about this

The worste service I have ever had, the delivery driver rang to tell me he was outside to come out and get my food so I asked him could he bring it to my door he’s attitude was that if I don’t come out and get the food he is going being so rude to me and said are you coming out or not because I’m going I’m not assed you can complain about me when I’m not even saying anything to him, disgusting how a rider can speak to you like that he’s job is to deliver my food actually would never order of them ever again

Just order the food, one of my item never turned up , food quality is a really gone bad ! Nothing like before ! chicken kofta , had to throw away in the bin , smelled horrible of raw chicken ball is not edible! What a money waste ! Never going to order again ! You should sack your chef ! First time ordering from Dera as a takeout! Then when I arrived to collect my order the uncle there was really nice and considerate. The food was absolutely stunning! Very authentic and it’s rare I will go to the same place twice in a week but I will be doing so! Thank you again :)))))

Really enjoyed our saji and karahi and also chicken boneless Baryani is out class. After long long time Pakintani Taste. Also nahari and chana is top of the list. And roghi naan make those dishes matchless.

I have gone to this place quiet regularly over the last 10 years and recommended many friends and families too. However recently the place has taken a real dive. The owner/manager is extremely grumpy and unfriendly. Earlier you would get a warm smile and welcome chat, now he acts as if he is doing you a favour by allowing you to come to his restaurant. Today I observed a serious altercation between him and group of customers over the quality of food and they left in disgust. The party sitting a table apart also left most of their food unfinished. The quality of food is uneven and it is extremely pricey. A plate of Dal Gost (with a couple of pieces of lamb) is £11. The small beautiful menu of authentic lahori dishes is now replaced with a menu full of Pizzas and burgers with the pakistami food just a side show. I feel sad to say this, but Please, Please avoid this place.

Received food from uber eats for my curry could just taste salt the portion I was given was to small for two people and charged me £17 for it and I ordered other food the kids burgers was just swimming in mayonnaise and my partners food all he could taste was salt and they tried charging us nearly £50 for all food definitely a rip off I tried phoning and they were very rude over the phone

Would avoid wish I had read the reviews before I ordered a take away. Ordered madras chicken curry,which I have eaten this dish from lots of places. What arrived was a watery curry with masses of onions and garlic.no idea what this was but definitely not a madras curry. Rang to ask about it and was told the owner would ring me back. Still waiting...

Came to this restaurant with my family and was highly disappointed by the service received. The man who took our order was extremely rude and unprofessional. He not only spoke with a rude manner and tone, he shouted loudly at my uncle when we wanted to add to our order. He was rude, impatient and I have never experienced such poor service. The food was below average and lacked spices. The only good thing i have to say about the food is that the naan was nice. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy good food and a decent service and would definitely not step foot in this establishment again.

Very disappointing. I have eaten here a few times previously, but that was a while ago and in the restaurant. We therefore decided to order a takeaway from here. First impressions were good, based on the starters. Problem started when we got to the main course. We had ordered a butter chicken, but it was nothing like a butter chicken. Both the butter chicken and the biryani had hardly any chicken in them. In fact we had to hunt for pieces of chicken, that's how bad it was. That was a shame because both dishes tasted good. Unlike the saag paneer, which was truly awful and ended up in the bin. Overall a bad experience. I would not order from here again unless they make some major changes.

Really scrumptious chicken boneless Baryani. It is now a days take out only. This is best ever Baryani I have tasted. Strongly recommended. Last time we tried lamb leg and bang on spot the taste and tenderness.

Dera delivered boneless chicken biryani to the Blood Donor Centre staff. They provided the food free of charge as a thank you to the staff for what they do. It was absolutely delicious and very much appreciated. Thank you to all at Dera.

Apagaron sin ninguno, por lo que claramente no tienen jengibre fresco en las instalaciones. ¿Quién quiere un katahi sin jengibre? Tampoco tiene el sabor karahi y se ha utilizado demasiado comino. Al principio no me gustó, tardaron mucho en servir la comida y era una pequeña cantidad, ya que pedimos una ensalada grande y pedimos 3 veces y la conseguimos al final. Absolutely shocking. I would not recommend this disgrace of a restaurant to anyone. The service is ridiculous. I went in a group of 25 people and we waited 2 hours for the food. Tried explaining it to the manager but he was not listening. The food was even cold after waiting all that time. The food was coming to our table in a disorganised manner - a starter portion, then a naan portion, then a curry portion. It was not structured one bit and I expected it to be since I booked the table several hours before. I continually had to ask for mint sauce and coke, they look so long. After waiting all that time for food, the pakoras came and they were way too salty - it was a disaster.

The ambience is excellent. Plenty of space as well in the dining area. Meal was excellent esp the lamb karahi and haleem! Hot and tasty ! Naans were top notch ! Authentic Pakistani cuisine !

Karahi, roti and dahl So damn good, tasty and fragrant. friendly service and would go again. Classic case of decor inversely proportional to the quality of the food, don’t judge a book by its cover.

Fui con la familia para celebrar el cumpleaños de mi hijo. La camarera estaba dispuesto a tomar nuestro pedido, que era bueno, entonces se fue cuesta abajo. La camarera regresó después de 15 minutos para decir que la charga de pollo tenía que ser cocinada fresca, así que tomaría 40 minutos, eso es 15 minutos después de que se sirvieran los otros entrantes, así que tuvimos que cancelar la charga. Los entrantes llegaron una hora más tarde y uno después del otro no todos juntos. No estaba ocupado solo en otras 3 mesas, así que no sé por qué tardó tanto. Pedí un cordero karahi y un pollo karahi. El pollo karahi sabía que estaba apagado y el cordero karahi tenía aceitunas que no pedí. El servicio fue absolutamente diabólico. Lo único con lo que fueron puntuales fue la factura. 160 absolutamente ridículo. Obtener mejor comida y servicio de mi comida para llevar local. Viajó 30 millas por una mala experiencia, no se lo recomiendo a nadie.

We were invited by some friends to this place for a Iftar dinner. Hands on heart it’s the worst culinary experience I have had for a while. The food was absolutely awful. The so-called Buffett dishes were empty for most of the duration of the dinner. There was not enough staff for refills, to clear the tables or even dry the wet dishes!!

We celebrated my wife’s birthday in Dera restaurant. The lamb Karahi and Biryani were awesome. Karahi with kulcha naan was a perfect combination. Kids had masala fish which also tasted nice. Don’t forget to try Sweet pan in the end.

He estado aquí dos veces, una vez que conseguimos un pollo al vapor y lados que estaba muy bien condimentado y este sábado llegamos justo después de que abrieron, así que tuvimos el lugar para nosotros. El personal es muy amable y servicial, y pedimos un cordero Karahi y un pollo palak (espinacas) con arroz y naan. Ambos estaban perfectamente cocinados y había un montón de cosas. Los chefs son excelentes y cocinan todo fresco a la orden.

If your looking to go somewhere fancy and posh then this isnt the place for you but if your looking for honest nice food then do visit.

Where do I start told over the phone booking a table for 10 will be aviliable on arrival. Arrived they had a party function going on! Made to wait 45 mins for our table! When the table was ready there were food on the floor was asked it's upto you if you want to sit down. WHO would want to sit down at table with the previous occupants food all over the floor!

Absolute poor customer service and Rude behaviour .Staff swearing around kids .When complained to the manager he was very rude and abusive and backed the staff .Not a family oriented place at all .Better to stay away .

El servicio de atención al cliente también es muy buena ya que el personal es muy atento y profesional. el chef nos hizo samosas aunque no estaban en el menú así que realmente se esfuerzan para complacer al cliente.

The food that we tried (sajji chicken, lamb chops and matka) was delicious. I have never tried so tasty pakistani food. The staff were extremely polite and very friendly. I would recommend this place and specially the sajji chicken!

Fuimos un grupo de 25. Naturalmente que reúne unos problemas pero en general es bastante aceptable. La comida era buena. El servicio era un poco lento, pero creo que fue atendido bien dada la situación. Nuestro líder del grupo fue en el personal de pedidos de gritos y respondieron bien. Salió en alrededor de 10 libras por cabeza, así que es muy razonable. Estaba un poco caliente en allí, pero aparte de eso era decente. Sin duda lo recomendaría.

I went there with my family and my friends recommended me to that place. The food is amazing and nice. We had halwa puri and paya both dishes was delicious and very tasty, the waitress staff was very helpful and kind!!

Family of 17 members went to Dera. FIrstly was impressed with the surroundings of Culture & Traditional layout of pics and one part of Restaurant was based for this, for kids and picture taking with family. Food was on time freshly made. Taking in consideration we had a big order for 17 of us adults & Kids. We also took our cake to celebrate a members birthday. THey took the trouble to decorate the cake for us and brought it out to us. Complimentary Mango Lassi too. Plenty of space at the back of restaurant too. Overall clean place, toilets are also clean. Customer Service was excellent as they asked every now & then if all was Good. Highly recommend for Families & couples. Good environment and atmosphere. Will Definitely visit again.

The food here is great, the atmosphere is great and the customer service is excellent! A very homely and warm feel inside. Very attentive service! The food tasted so good.... just as it says in the menu.... good food takes time to cook. The prices were very reasonable also. I have a habit of over indulging when eating out and wasn't even half way through my order when the waiter stopped me and said ' that's it now. That's more than enough '. I liked that. It gave a sense of caring. I'm glad I didn't order more as it was very filling!

Really lovely food at Dera....the achari chicken is beautiful, the lamb chops so suculant...karahi lamb was amazing...service from Asif was excellent, above and beyond...had a takeaway too and he asked the chef to make his version of a pashwari nan...lovely touch... nice surroundings...this is my second visit and I will be going back.

The service that the staff provided was very poor as they were arguing with each other. Also, when we politely called a staff member they ignored us and went to serve some other people that ordered their food after us which is rude and disrespectful. Furthermore, we arrived at the restaurant where they told us to sit in the extra room,whereas, a staff member gave another family the main sitting area which is very unprofessional. I would strongly not recommend this restaurant to other families. The facilities were very dirty. Moreover, the food was distasteful.

We had a groupon for this restaurant. The place itself is clean and I love how it's decorated. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The menu is different and had lots of exciting choices. Portions were huge. The rice was particularly tasty and enough for us to share. I cannot fault the place, I thought it was great. We will be going back and paying full price

We used a Groupon Deal for two and loved our experience. The ambience of this restaurant is pretty unique and the staff are extremely warm. I would imagine the cuisine is from the Punjab province of Pakistan from the decor of the place. The portions were pretty generous and the food tasted good. We had the Chicken Boneless Biriyani, Chicken Chilli Masala and Garlic Naans for main and all of them were pretty good. The prices were reasonable and I would go back again even without a Groupon deal.

Came here yesterday for a function and the food was on point. The chicken biryani, chole and kobeda was delicious and good customer service. A very nice and homely place.

Visited here last weekend and as I had never been before I wasn't quite sure what to expect, my partner had been before so assured me I was in for a treat and he wasn't wrong..I had the Special Lamb Nihari which was a taste sensation.... beautifully spicy and flavorsome without any burn at all.... the lamb literally fell apartMy partner had the Mughlai Chicken and chickpea which was equally as nice, we usually share...Service was excellent despite there being a Ladies Party taking place in a private room, but that even seemed to add to the overall experience hearing them enjoying themselves and the music from there made it almost feel like you had been transported to LahoreOn site car park which you don't always get with City restaurants and handy as there is no alcohol served... All in all spot on..... I'm sure we'll be back

If you want chicken madras and chips go elsewhere This house serves amazing and vibrant cuisine with textures and flavours that challenges a standard UK palette. Lamb Nihari is the BEST I've ever tasted and Mughlai with chickpea curry was piquant and precious. Our starter of fried fish (fish Pakoras in other restaurants ) was spicy and eloquent. Even the popadom chutney and onions were specially tasty and generous. Garlic naan too was faultless.Service was extremely welcoming and respectfully efficient This was my second visit so feel well qualified to say COME AND GET IT if you want tastes that are unusual for the lager swilling tandoori brits.... there is no alcohol available here just QUALITY regional cuisineP.S. Try the mango lassi for a cooling fresh yoghurt drink accompaniment

Visited a few times before in a large work group, ordering kilos of the karahi but visited as a couple this time so opted for a half kilo this time with the lamb chops that come served on a hot plate.Probably the most authentic example of Pakistani cuisine this close to the city centre.Saeed and Ali provided attentive service.

Came on a night when they had a wedding on..really busy..wasn t sure if service or food would be good as they were so busy.However food was cooked to perfection and staff was especially helpful. Ali Raza gave exceptional service..make sure you ask to be served by him..prompt service and amazing hot food..what more can you ask? Well done guys!

Seriously pathetic quality of food. Completely tasteless and expensive keeping in mind that the whole food would get wasted. We ordered tikka and fish as starters. Fish was ok but tikka was overly spicy with uncooked red pepper on it. Papodoms werent fresh at all. Chicken karahi was all blackish as if it was burnt and tasted horrible. Biryani seemed too old but it was bearable. We hardly ate a few bites of our mains and felt like vomiting already. Would never go their again and never recommend to anyone. Though the tradition decor was good. But its food that matters more!! Disappointed!!

we been to restaurant number of times when it used to be called Lahori Dera. the food was always excellent. but this time the food was very blend. the karai was tasteless all we can taste was boil meat in black pepper though it looked good. seek kebab were rubbery, admit though the biryani was the only tasty dish. hope they get their old chef back.

Unsuspecting customers: WATCH OUT FOR THE HOUSE SPECIALS.We ordered delivery from this restaurant last night. It seemed to be a busy night for them, but we received our food in good time and it was all well packaged and still hot.However, upon opening our meals, two of us were very dismayed. Having ordered a naan and a main course each, we were expecting a substantial meal each.But it turns out that the house specials are not quite what you expect.My Nihari was literally just bones in broth. The Paya wasn't much different.I tentatively dunked my garlic naan in the broth and to be fair, this was actually very tasty; however, I had paid 6.40 for this 'special' dish... which was only good as a naan-softener. Two minutes later; my naan was gone and I was still starving.Where's the phone?Thankfully, despite their busy evening, the staff were extremely helpful in dealing with my complaint, and managed to get something more filling over to me as quick as they could; just some simple chicken and chickpeas, very tasty, and filled the stomach-void at least.I'm not complaining about the quality of the dishes; if you know what Nihari is, and you are in the mood for some, then I am sure that this is EXCELLENT Nihari; but if you're not sure what something on this menu is, then I recommend Googling it. There are a lot of traditional options that are NOT what the average British curry-fan will expect... and these are not as well described on the menu as they could be.We actually chose this restaurant *because* it promised more 'authentic' curry; but we didn't quite realise what that meant!When I see that Nihari "is a stew consisting of slow-cooked meat mainly lamb along with bone marrow, garnished to taste", I expect there to be some other things in the stew too, some onions and carrots, maybe some potato or spinach. Not just bones and broth. I imagine it was partly bad luck; the dish is after all slow-cooked in a large pot, and I could have just received the unlucky ladel that happened to have no meat in it.So, I simply advise caution with the menu. Don't rush into your choices. Ideally, go to the restaurant itself, where you can ask the waiter what the dishes are like.Don't make my mistake!

Dera is beautifully decorated Pakistani restaurant. Upon entering it you will see sculptures, paintings, wooden work which will take you to Pakistani village and close to the soil which makes the stay and food more tasty !!!Out of all the items I requested for chicken Sajji which you need to pre-order. Now Sajji is carefully made in low heat and it is a famous food of the province called Balochitan.Chicken cooked in low heat in clay oven makes meat tender and soft and spices added to it quite tasty. Sajji needs to be cooked delicately and you need trained chef for this. You will not get this item very often in UK. Only few restaurants serve this. I liked Sajji here a lot.Apart from food the staffs are also quite cordial and amount of food is also quite a lot. Enjoy your dinner at Dera !!!

The service and food was nice and the decor was lovely creating a very traditional cultural setting for your meal. The chicken karahi dish tasted good and i would recommend it to other customers.

we ordered a takeaway to the hotel we were staying at, service was very good, curry was very good, naan were not fresh just heated but the shahi kebabs were like cardboard and tasteless, the fish pakora was good but probably wont be ordering from them again.

very nicely done out in the style of a village but food was poor (biryani more like a kichree) and painfully slow service (even though only a few tables occupied in the whole dining hall). Shame as there obviously been a lot of effort put into making the space look authentic in the style of a dera, but let down badly by the service and the food

Poor service and average tasting food at a high price. Ordered a kg of curry and it was barely half a kilo. I'm happy paying more for better quality but this was a let down. Didn't even get our main meal at the same time. On the plus the venue is decorated well and the chicken tikka starter was nice.

Amazing food, best family environment, special Pakistan , Lahori good. Must eat and highly recommended Chana, biryani, lassi, chicken Karahi, grill food specially chargha... Service is very good and fast...

I visited the restaurant couple of days ago alongwith my friend and his family for dinner.Food was delicious and the service was sterling.I'll recommend it for a try.

We always loved their food amd polite staff.But the service (speed of delivery, amounts of food, Timing of food delivery to table, etc...) has not been good in the past.However, since then they have improved their service and now we experience the same high quality service. So imo, the restaurant is a great place to visit with your family and friends.

Yesterday was the second time we chose Dera for a friends get together. The quality of food, service and the helpfulness of staff is second to none. Especially the Olive Karahi and their own Dera Soda was even better than what we get back home in Pakistan.

we were amazingly surprised to see their dinning area, it was HUGE and food was delicious. It is the best place to go if you want good quality Asian food.

Asian atmosphere, very warm and friendly welcome by the host. Excellent, very spicy meat and fish, warm naan bread and a fantastic mango/yoghurt drink. Unforgettable.

So first of all, I have never felt the need to write a negative review before for any restaurant that I've been to - even if it wasn't the best standard. The food here is lovely but as other people have commented, the service is utterly shocking. 1) we asked for a chicken karhai on the menu, the waiter that took our order asked us a couple of questions (on the bone/off, cooked in olive oil/regular oil). What he didn't tell us was that these were all extra charges that he was presenting to us as choices. We were served a 'Zaitoon' which was an extra £10 as a result of our choices. Now I don't mind being advised of special dishes or recommendations on the menu, but I expect to either get what I asked for, or asked - 'would you like to have this made as a special with olive oil for an extra £x. I tried to feed this back to the manager that this should be the case but he was adamant that I should read the menu where charges all were listed (I hadn't looked further down at what the 'Zaitoon' was as what I wanted was first on the list. He did in the end offer the dish to us as the same price but was unreceptive to any feedback we were trying to give him. He also admitted that there was an extra £10 charge for having the SAME dish cooked in olive oil instead of regular oil - which is ridiculous and frankly I feel is unethical to market as a different 'speciality' to customers. We highlighted this came across as a little unethical but were told that it's the customers choice to order or not. 2) the Pepsi I was given was warm and flat. Which they changed. The second was warm with fizz but a funny taste (all my friends also tried and found the same issue with my drink). I then asked for a closed can and was told by one waiter that they didn't have them. When I spoke to another waiter he brought me one so I didn't appreciate being fobbed off by the first. When I raised that they may need to check their drink dispenser the manager told me that it had been checked yesterday and nothing was wrong with it. So just didn't even bother taking the feedback on board and checking the problem (I saw another reviewer wrote a similar comment with her drink). 3) being charged extra for small things like salad (regular plate of salad that even a kebab shop would offer free). And charged extra for menu requests (nearly all reputable restaurants happily take on board any small adjustments to your order that aren't strictly on the menu). It wasn't the fact that this restaurant is expensive - even with charges for small things and sly up-sells its still fairly cheap, it's the arrogance in taking feedback, lack of customer care and ethics of the pricing that ruins the experience. It's a shame as this would probably have been a favourite place to eat. They need to go to other restaurants and take notes....

Waited over an hour for 2 currys to arrive. Staff spoke very little English. State if repair and presentation of the restaurant was shocking. Toilet areas were male and female in same in same room. Homer Simpson must have been the plumber in this place. The waiters spoke very little English.
