Simran and Bisma were very kind and their service was excellent, they were really attentive and took care of me and my family. I really enjoyed the service and atmosphere, because of the great customer service, I will definitely visit again!

This was my 5th visit to the almaida buffet restaurant. Every time I enjoyed the food. I am with my family, 5 adults and 1 kid, 9 years old, and 1 3 years old. But this time I am very disappointed with the starters. Chapli kebabs, chicken tandoori wings, chicken tikka, and chicken sesame all were not fresh and not available in good quantity. 3 times a took a round for starters but very disappointed.

Came for the first time all the way from Bradford to try out the place as heard lots of good things. Variety of food and all delicious tasted amazing and got served by a lovely lady called Farah on table 8. Will be returning with the rest of the family. Customer service amazing

We had 2 family weddings here back in 2010, the venue, service and food was better. My niece got married here last week and things have been changed. They just don’t do traditional Pakistani wedding food like they used too. The samosa chaat was served in a tiny ramekin dish which was difficult to eat from. There were 10 seats per table, where they shouldn’t have been anymore than 8. The platters were too heavy. A mediterranean salad was served with desi food… what happened to a simple desi salad? The fish pakora had too much batter and was over cooked. The chicken pieces had fallen apart, clearly over cooked. The rest of the food was okay. A waiter just picked up the bones from my plate, he was wearing gloves but i felt it was unhygienic as he will have done the same to other people’s plates. The reception was set up at the top of a staircase, outside the hall. It was complete pandemonium, the goal happy , desserts should have been served by waiters. The table for the cake cutting was too low. The tea did not taste fresh. The venue has a walk way with arches in the centre which is completely unnecessary, all you need is a red carpet down the centre. The guests on the far side of the room, couldn’t see the grooms family making an entrance. It is just stuck in the way, please get rid. It would have been nice if they had waited for the bride to be seated on the stage before starting dinner service, It would be great if the organiser could ask guests to take their seats prior to service in future. It was a bit chaotic at times tbh. Management pls take note

The food here was exceptional. Everything from the starters, main courses and deserts were very tasty and of high quality. They also bring specials to your table such as samosa chaat and tawa chicken. The service was phenomenal from the stress Farah and made sure the experience was pleasant. Will come back again in the future !

Server simran had outstanding service, food was amazing would definitely recommend going. They have options of chips to chops to rice, lasagne, kebabs, samosas etc. the whole party loved it and are deciding when to go again. I recommend to try at least once.

I have been visiting Al Maidah for past 10 years. On my last visit food was mediocre at best. Staff were rude, especially the old man who sits behind cash register. Why they have not sacked him long ago, speaks volumes about the restuarant, they just don't care what customers think. They have now introduced a charge for water. If they are unable to supply tap water due to regulations at least you could charge a sensible price not £3 for a 1.5Litre bottle when you can buy it in bulk for 52p. Also you sell the cheapest Cola (Barr) and for the privilage you charge £7 for a jug. A 2Litre bottle can be bought wholesale for 80p. They are milking customers. I for one will never return, a piece of advise to the restuarant carry on serving the quality of food you do and charge these sort of prices for drinks you'll be out of business in no time. No longer will I ever visit this buffet. They have lost the business for a family of 4 NOTE FOR MANAGEMENT - YOU WILL BE REPORTED TO TRADING STANDARDS. You Quote in a reply to a recent customer about water charges: The local water authority has reached out to us and advised we must fit a commercial water filtration system through one of their approved contractors and conduct monthly ph tests as well as a quarterly service on equipment. The sheer cost and additional workload required for this is not practical for us to implement. This is not because the water is contaminated but because of the size of the venue and the fact we are “providing tap water commercially” which we argued we have always done. THE FACTS AND THE LEGAL POSITION No, a water board in the UK cannot legally compel a restaurant to install a commercial water filter. While they are responsible for ensuring public water supplies are safe and suitable for all domestic purposes, including drinking, the decision to install additional treatment, like a filter, is a matter of choice for the business owner. Here's why: Water Boards' Responsibility: Water boards are legally obligated to provide potable water to all consumers, meaning it's safe and suitable for drinking. They regularly test and publish the results, ensuring the water meets standards. No Legal Requirement for Additional Treatment: There's no legal requirement for businesses to install additional water treatment beyond what the water board provides. Optional Filtration: Restaurants can choose to install water filters for various reasons, such as improved taste, reduced limescale, or for specific equipment needs (like coffee machines). Customer Perception and Preferences: While not legally required, some restaurants might choose to filter water to enhance customer perception and cater to specific preferences. Water Boards' Role: The water board primarily focuses on ensuring the overall quality and safety of the water supply, not on individual businesses' water treatment choices. As well as having rude staff you also lie to your customers !!

I had an amazing experience at Almaida Restaurant in Manchester! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. One of the highlights of our visit was the service. Smriti, who was looking after our table, was exceptional. Attended a family wedding here. The venue is not as modern as newer wedding halls but overall decent location and facilities.

Food was alright. I liked chiken pakora. Kebabs were very dry. Nehari was off. Had to return it. Cakes are too dry. Gol gappy too sweet. Chops are a bit hard. They didn't have a baby chair for us. So I had a lot of problems as I had 2 kids with me. 1 time was alright. Won't be going again. Fresh doughnuts were really nice.

The most unhygienic food i ever taste. The lamb and chicken pieces were floating in the yellowish oil which shows the poor quality of oil. Raw cooked starters which were smelling bad. The management and staff have no ethics of how to speak with customers. Highly disappointed, wastage of money and time.

We recently attended Al Maidah for my sister’s wedding and couldn’t have chosen a better venue or team for the event. Throughout the whole process, right from the very first meeting to the end of the actual wedding day, both Nadia and Halima went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and made sure everything ran smoothly. Particularly Halima - who stayed right until the end of the night and ensured we left feeling as happy as possible. She ensured my sister was well hydrated and fed all night, bringing her glasses of water with a straw to the bridal suite and plates of fruit too which was so sweet. It all went how my sister had planned and cannot thank Halima and Nadia enough for their help and support throughout the whole process. Me and my whole family all appreciated it so much!! ❤️ The food, the decor, the hospitality and attention to detail was all spot on! Everything my sister had planned for her wedding day came to life with the help of these two amazing ladies! This was the 4th family event we have done here and these ladies are like family now! They are an absolute credit to Al Maidah. Once again thank you so much and look forward to seeing you for my turn….

I’ve always enjoyed my time here. However, this time we went absolutely appalled. We made arrangements as a big family to go and I regret recommending this. We booked a table which they said they would hold for 15minutes extra. When we got there we were told we only had 90 minutes to eat? Which is ridiculous. We had to queue for the buffet. Which took 30 minutes itself. The starters were cold and dry. The staff and managements are rude! By law food premises should provide two water. However, we were refused this apparently the water is contaminated so they are unable to provide it. Which is questionable as they cook and clean with this water. Just another excuse to buy drinks. Also management compared to the service as “Nawaabs” just to let you know they do provide tap water which customers have access to. Absolutely disappointed of our visit and will not be visiting again. Everyone be vigilant going.

They wouldn't even honour £2.50 printed on the menu for water instead when I challenged them why they were charging £3.00 they told me off saying it's £3.00 not £2.50. Some old man at the counter challenged me instead and brought the menu in front of me that clearly said £2.50 in front of water. To my amazement, he still charges £3.00!!! It's not about £2.50 it's about the behaviour, absolutely rude and arrogant. They think they will always have business behaving like this with customers!!!

Went to almaidah recently. Didn’t enjoy the experience at all. Food was missing, what was left was cold. Rice was rock hard. It’s a buffet. You’ve got to get the food right. Staff were okay and said they would make a plate of items that were missing and bring to our table. But after taking over £130 would have expected a better level of service. I chose a buffet to have variety of food, pick what I wanted when I wanted. Otherwise it’s not a buffet. Terrible experience and normally I wouldn’t share but then why not to warn other people? Would have expected a partial refund but all staff disappeared and didn’t even so goodbye.

Visited 3rd April, they have stopped providing tap water, only offer for sale mineral or bottles. The food wasn't very fresh this visit and limited vegetarian sides. Im in no hurry to return.

Firstly, the service is just terrible, we got there at half past six and they made us wait until eight pm. And then they said wait until 10 pm, so we just wasted our time just standing and waiting for nothing. 0/10 service.

This was my favourite buffet, food was unapologetically hot and spicy.. really well seasoned too. This time so mediocre, chicken tikka dry, mango chutney watered down so much just like a runny yellow water. You can no longer have tap water, you HAVE to pay for mineral water.. I'm sure by law they have to provide tap water if requested. We paid £7 for a jug of BARR cola.. Why start cutting corners and create an unhappy customer experience over tap water??

Awful service, made people wait for hours standing with their children and babies and then they said there is no space we have to wait for more hours. When it was our turn to enter they said to wait again until a couple of hours more, so we just left feeling disappointed. I don’t recommend going there without booking. Service is 0/10.

Amazing choice of food and quality. Been a while since I last been here but it was worth it. Whole family enjoyed it. Special thanks to the unsung heroes - especially Roman and Smirti- they were amazing - working hard nonstop but always with a large smile and helpful manner. Deserve a bonus!’

Very dissapointed that water was not provided for opening our fast, this is the least they could do. They do not offer tap water which means you have no choice but to purchase a bottle of cheapy saka water. Pathetic

The arrangement of the dishes is incorrect. Even if you don't want anything from the starter section, you still have to wait in a long queue to get a dish. As for the food quality, it's acceptable, but there were two occasions when the food containers were never refilled.

In Ramadan at least you can do is give free water. Who makes the decision ? Biggest kanjoos ever. Change the way you make payment. Don’t ask for money before ppl even eat because you know people will need to order drinks at a later time.

One of the biggest issues with this restaurant is the placement of the dishes. Even if you're only getting dinner and not starters, you still have to wait in the same queue. Additionally, they don’t refill empty serving pots, and the dinner options are quite limited.

Really good services also the venue was spacious and comfortable. The food was really good and tasty with a large variety, we especially enjoyed the lamb chops, lamb kofta, pizza and the desserts.

Paid online beforehand and booked a table for 18, table only had 16 chairs on arrival. Upon several requests, sorted the seating out. Asked for lamb chops, was told would have to wait until after iftari. Not good service during ramadhan

Had a fantastic time here , the food was delicious and plentiful. A good range of food , from starters , salads , curries , and deserts . Loved it there and would definitely go again
