Khandoker Restaurant in Manchester

Really good food! Have had madras and butter chicken here plenty of times. Best butter chicken ever. Both chicken and lamb are very tender. Don’t go to the one next door which is their takeaway counterpart - for some reason the taste is not even comparable despite being owned by the same family. Never sat down but the staff are always nice and chatty when I get a takeout. Please could we lower the prices a bit for takeaway? 😁

This place is the worst food Ive actually hate out of took 1 fork full and left the my main course and complained so did my wife they charged full price as complained the food was terrible and we left the mains avoid at all cost terrible staff

Just got back from an evening meal at Khandoker tonight and we thoroughly enjoyed every bit of our food. The Madras was just the right amount of spice and the onion bhajis were delicious and crispy!!! Everything was full of flavour 😊

Called in spontaneously after a trip to the cinema. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated straight away. Service was excellent throughout our visit, food was fresh, delicious & good portions. This was our first visit, and we will definitely be returning.

We visited tonight with my husbands cousin and aunt. Absolutely brilliant. Good service, the most amazing food....so tasty and fresh.......just lovely......we will be visiting again ASAP.

*Apparently this is the takeaway not the restaurant!* The restaurant is actually really good! The takeaway is a different matter entirely. The worst kind of BIR curry. More oil than sauce, literally inches deep in oil. Even the onion bhaji in the mixed grill was thick with grease. Avoid. A waste of money.

Not been here since the 80s. Food was amazing and served with great care and attention. Won’t be leaving it so long next time! I’m not local but will definitely travel to come here again

Never use the delivery service, 1 hour late and ordered 3 hours ago. No help from the restaurant as to why the delivery driver had driven past my area to deliver to another area. More planning needs to be done on routes and for when the orders were placed as to order of delivery. Food stone cold and won’t use again

Ordered once a week for the last few weeks now and all times really consistent! Have to say this is the best massala around town, so flavoursome and in depth! All the sides and sundries are lovely too! Definitely recommend

Absolutely love this place. We order take away from the restaurant often and it never disappoints. The food is always cooked fresh and is super tasty. They do all the vegetable sides so well! (Actually difficult to find an Indian restaurant that still does all of these as sides). Such good value for money and staff are always friendly. Would highly recommend.

We ordered a takeout as was highly recommended by friends. Sadly order was stone cold, poppadoms tasted of old oil, bhajis however were lovely after being warmed up in the oven, and sadly the curry was the worst curry we've ever had, the chicken was tough as old boots and the sauce bland. Just never again, what a waste of £30.

I went with a couple of work colleagues. We have been trying out many different Indian restaurants in the south Manchester area for several years. This time it was the turn of khandoker. The food was spot in. I had lamb Naga and the lamb was meat not fatty at all and the Naga had some decent heat to it, unlike a lot of other places. The onion rice was great, and I could have eaten that on its own. As is usua with these jaunts, we were there early doors on a Wednesday and the restaurant wasn't busy, so difficult to comment on the service, but what we had was good and very friendly. I will certainly go back there again, and one of the colleagues has family in the area and has recommended khandoker to them. Overall a good evening well spent.

Bought a lamb dupiaza and it was completely flavourless. The Garlic naan I bought to go with it had more about it. Won't be back.

Genuinely couldn’t fault it! Quite probably due to how late it was and school holidays . Service was good, food was top notch, couldn’t fault it!

Poor Indian food. Dhansak flavour was good but tiny amount of veg, and swimming in grease. Naan was weird and not cooked in the middle. I wouldn't go again. I've had worse but not by much..

I've been going to Khandoker for 13 years. The last four or five times I've promised I won't go back for a variety of reasons. But after last night, that's it. We went in as a table or two at 18:30. We waited 1 hr and 20 minutes for our food to arrive due to a big take away order. We were over charged by more than £10 (we were in a rush and only noticed this morning) and we were - as always - sold flat fizzy drinks from a big bottle. £2.95 for that. Just never going back. I like the young lad in there, we've been going for more than a decade but no more.

Very good freshly cooked curries. I phoned our order, no delivery option. Car parking available adjacent to the restaurant. Kitchen and staff all looked v clean and were friendly. I did have to wait 10 mins ontop of 40 min time from my phoned order. Highly recommended!

Took my dad down to this restaurant as I’ve heard amazing things! And can’t fault them. All staff were friendly & the food was to die for. I recommend getting a tandoori mixed grill.

Went for a meal only to receive really poor service, average food and to add insult at the end decided to charge us 10% for a service charge on our bill. Easy to see why place is completely empty, won't be going back again mediocrity!!!!!!

The portion size as well is very generous which meant I had enough for two meals! I am deffinetly going to order here again!

The Khandoker have continued with the scheme in September so we took advantage of this the other evening. The waiters all had face coverings on and there was hand sanitizer available too. We started with poppadoms and dips and I had the chicken chat to start and my husband had seek kebab. Both very nice. For my main course I had Lamb aloo and my husband had chicken shabji.we shared a pilau rice and garlic naan to go with them. I was disappointed mine as the potatoes were not fresh, thankfully the lamb was tender.My husband really enjoyed his meal though.

Friendly staff and a cracking curry. I can recommend the Achari. They kindly let us eat with just 45mins to spare before the early 10pm curfew and we weren’t disappointed. Thanks!

My partner and I visited Khandoker for dinner for the first time on Friday and I can say with utmost certainty that it won’t be our last. From the moment we walked in, the staff were super friendly, attentive and approachable. The atmosphere is cosy and the restaurant maintains a very high level of cleanliness. The menu is extensive, filled with authentic Indian cuisine for every taste preference.Kameron was absolutely brilliant and hugely helpful, truly going above and beyond to tailor the experience to make each customer feel valued. He was extremely accommodating in guiding us through our menu choices and I was particularly impressed to discover how well they cater for a variety of dietary needs, with incredible vegan and gluten free options. Simply advising him on the type of flavours we were in the mood for, he provided a fantastic selection of dishes, and when they arrived, not a single dish disappointed. The portions are generous, very reasonably priced and of a spectacular standard.The food is phenomenal, with high quality fresh ingredients that fit our tastes to perfection. I am a huge fan of spicy food while my partner favours milder flavours and they catered to both of us phenomenally. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal - the service is exceptional, food is amazing, the cleanliness is impeccable, and we will most definitely be returning again to check out more of their options. I am so glad to have discovered this gem of a restaurant and would highly recommend. It has most definitely become a new favourite and will now be our go-to for Indian cuisine.

Khandoker never fails to deliver - we are regulars and wouldn’t go anywhere else now for our Indian meals. The food is always excellent, service is fantastic and the team always remember us which is a lovely touch.

It was a delight to go back to the Khandoker last night, after months of Covid lockdown. And nothing has changed. The menu is inventive and modern, the food is tasty and infinitely better than an 'average' restaurant, the service is great.The only thing wrong was that the restaurant was empty! What a waste. If you love curry, go to the Khandoker. You won't be disappointed.

Always such consistently good, really tasty and hot food. The waiters are so lovely and friendly as well, make us feel so welcome. They make such a fuss of our little girl (so much so she's come to expect ice cream after every curry!) It's been a while but we can't wait to come back!

We ordered from here during the lockdown as we had seen so many people on facebook comment and share their lovely food and experience. We ordered, the food came quickly and very hot. Amazing quality of meats and the portion did us for dinner the next day there was that much. My partner ordered a curry and it was packed with meat and flavour. I ordered the biryiani and it is honestly the best ive ever had. Cant wait to book to visit the restaurant itself very soon. 10/10

We placed a £40+ order via UberEats as it was ranked the best Indian by rating according to the app at the time of ordering.Food arrived and got the free poppadoms/dips as standard like many other curry houses. Food was very tasty, delicious in fact. Good cuts of chicken and lamb in our curries and there was little to no fat on the lamb chunks. I added some order notes and these were followed which is a good sign of a takeaway and means their staff/management are on the ball.10/10 for the food, would highly recommend. Fresh, wholesome and packed with flavour. Achanak and meat samosas were amazing. I think you've got a new regular customer!

We ordered for home delivery due to coronovirus, we have heard good reviews before but never had a chance of visiting. Indian isn't normally my first choice of take away but the food here is amazing and i will definitely be ordering more regular now ive tried it. All the food was cooked amazingly. Cannot wait for our next order

We made the stop at Khandoker before we travelled to the airport for our flight later that night, The food was absolutely amazing, chicken biriyani was well cooked the chicken was nice an tender, my husbands lamb chops were very tasty. The service was brilliant the young lady is very kid friendly brilliant chose of service the other waiter who was serving our food on time and was very polite... my two young girls made a mess of the table but he was quick to reassure us this was fine. If you are looking for a family day out I would highly recommend this restaurant you can not be disappointed. For the price what a lovely meal before our flight will definitely return!

Worst service we have ever had. Arrived at 22:30, granted they close at 23:00, however they should’ve turned us away there and then as we were looking for a table for 7 people. I have never experienced worse service at a restaurant. We went in and whilst ordering our drinks, the main waiter stood giving us all dirty looks. Then when we were sat eating our starters, he came collecting empty plates while some of us were still eating, which is just general etiquette that you don’t do it. Eating our main meals, the same waiter was pacing up and down around our table, we felt so unwelcome. Not to mention how oily the food was itself. We also ordered 3 portions of rice, 2 separate and 1 to share, however I guess it was 1 portion to 2 people. Dirty looks throughout, rushing us, oily food, we specifically asked for a separate bill, however they failed to do so. So after asking for the bill, we had to sit for a further 10 minutes splitting the bill ourselves as we couldn’t read his handwriting, only to receive more dirty looks. We understand that arriving half an hour before closing time there will have been a small rush, however dirty looks and collecting plates while people are still eating is taking a step to far. Would not recommend this place whether you want nice food or good service. I would give it 0/5 if it was possible. Terrible.

The food was absolutely lovely, the lamb was lamb not mutton, the Roshan curry just packed with garlic and they were happy to do a biryani with naga sauce. Poppadoms to start (excellent fruity lime dip). Starters were sheema naan and a prawn bhaji roti, both devine. Mains as mentioned above. Something like 5 pints, 1 coffee and a coke - less than sixty quid. Highly recommended, we will definitely go again and soon.

Pleasant staff and good service. Clean and well presented. Most importantly, the food was very tasty. I would definitely recommend it. They have an upstairs private room that parties can book. The restaurant was fairly empty when we visited but can be quite busy at time so best to book ahead to be sure.

We tried out the meerkat deals and went for a curry. 1st time we'd been and it won't be the last. Freshly made food, tasting clean and not fatty on the palette. Staff were helpful and informative. A really lovely experience. Will be recommending.

Another great meal here the paneer cheese starter is amazing and the lamb madras and roshan are incredible. definitely a family favourite restaurant, very reasonable price wise and good staff.

We visited this Indian Restaurant about three years ago and had a pleasant evening so we thought we would revisit for another time. It has to be a very popular place which people like as the place was very full on an early Friday night. However, for me I thought that although the food was served very hot it wasn't necessarily that tasty, apart from the starters that we had which was a range of things. I had the chilli Chicken which was okay but nothing brilliant. The place was roomy enough and the service was okay but the whole place could do with a refurbish as it seemed very dated and not in line with today restaurants. It does though appear to do very well as it is competing with the all of the food outlets across the road at the Parrs wood strip and therefore it must be doing something right with a lot of people. We had a good time there as well and enjoyed our pre dinner before the cinema.

Went here on a Friday night with my wife. This was our first visit. We were staying at a hotel just up the road and were looking for somewhere to eat. The general ambiance was okay. It wasn't very busy which wasn't a good sign. The service was very slow considering how empty the place was. The menus were grubby and my one had what looked like a curry sauce blob in it. My wife's wasn't much better. The food wasn't the worst rogan I'd ever tasted. It was quite flavoursome. Not a restaurant I'd hurry back to I'm afraid.
