Great food but the host was better what a lovely guy named Tariq made the whole experience complete would recommend it xxxx

Whilst the food at Lala's was great, the overall experience could have been greatly improved. As a popular restaurant, the waiting area was extremely crowded with not enough seating and too much noise from the music blasting over the speakers. The dining area was also very noisy (again due to the music) and poorly lit. The layout of the tables meant staff and customers were constantly squeezing past us as we were eating. The food itself arrived surprisingly quickly considering how busy it was, however the service was rushed and quite thoughtless. The staff literally handed us hot dishes, expecting us to make space on a table which was too small for a family of four. We also had to ask them to take away our empty plates rather than them proactively offering. The food was very good – big portions, fresh ingredients and very filling (highly recommend the dynamite prawns as a starter). We also enjoyed two of their mocktails which were really refreshing and not excessively sweet. Unfortunately, the atmosphere and impersonal service have put me off returning, but the food is definitely worth a try at least once.

Good ambience and service. Chutneys accompanying the poppadoms were very nice. They are currently doing a promotion, follow on Instagram and receive free poppadoms. Asked for all dishes to be spicy and it was rightly done, not a very common occurrence in the UK. The best dishes we ordered were pani puri, keema/garlic naan and butter chicken. Jeera rice was okay and lamb biryani was a bit of a let down. It wasn't untasty, but the flavour wasn't quite there and the lamb was a bit dry. Overall enjoyable dining experience, would recommend.

Great experience! The food was delicious and authentic, with rich flavours that really stood out. The service was excellent—Mudassar, was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Also, loved the special dessert and matka tea. Highly recommend for anyone wanting quality Pakistani cuisine.

They missed an item off takeaway order (delivery). Instead of apologising just argued that I didn’t order it! Despite me saying he repeated it back to me he just said “if it’s not on the computer you didn’t order it”. No apology or offer to put it right. When I said I won’t use them again he just said “I don’t care, I don’t run my business for you!”. Appalling service and attitude. I won’t ever use them again

Absolutely authentic Kerala food.

Really loved the food and the staff were extremely lovely, especially with our little girl. We appreciated it very much. The food was excellent value and absolutely delicious.

Had dinner with friends and we really enjoyed it!The food was very tasty, the service was very good. A great spot to hang out and have a nice Indian meal together,would definitely come back!

Booked a table at 6:30, completely forgot our order. Only brought out our 3 starters and soft drinks then tried to charge us £60. Restaurant wasn’t even full, left at 8:40 and it was clear others were having a similar problem.

My partner and I ate here in late June 2021. The only criticism we could make was that my partner’s tomato rice was rather soggy, but in all other respects the food was excellent. Our chicken and lamb signature dishes were fresh, hot and delicately spiced. Portions were very generous and the service was very good. All COVID regulations were adhered to and we felt very comfortable. For around £66, including starters and wine, we felt we had good value. It was just a pity that there were so few diners- the manager thanked us personally for coming and said that the shortage of visitors to London because of the pandemic had had a negative effect on his business. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good South Indian meal in the Bloomsbury area.

The most delicious freshly prepared Punjabi food for those with a discerning palette. If you want basic run of the mill Indian go somewhere else. As locals and regular customers who has tasted Indian food for decades, we have made this restaurant our favourite regular place to go. Always served with grace and smiles by this hardworking team.

Very disappointing experience. Joined friends for a meal. I ordered tandoori fish, my meal arrived late, had obviously been forgotten. Was served with 4 chunks of white fish with a red something drizzled on top, salt granules and a few strips of lettuce. Was dreadful, could not eat it. There was only one waiter, service was slow and portions small. Would not go back.
