The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Indian food

Well what a disaster! Going as a group of 14 for a retirement party (of someone who frequents restaurant). On arrival at booking time 20.30 ( having given a £10 per head deposit) place packed, people everywhere and most tables appeared empty of food. While we stood waiting, people , having booked, told us they’d been waiting a long time. After enquiring a number of times we were sat down to a group of tables thrown together and not set. No one came to take a drinks order but left us with menus. A member of our group’s mother came over to say that they’d been sat since 18.30 (time of their booking) but were still awaiting food! Now 9.30! We asked realistically how long it would be before being served when order taken. Told initially 40mins but then 45 -60mins in next breath. No table around us were eating! We decided to leave - despite having nowhere else to eat as now late and on asking we were easily refunded deposits with an apology. Du3 to disappoint and the fact it was a special occasion you would have thought we’d at least have a free drink ( especially as celebration was for a local, regular customer- but no! We all departed in our separate ways very hungry and greatly disappointed

La camarera rubia fue tan grosera. Pasé por delante de este restaurante pasado las 21:00 - ish y pidió una mesa como paseo - en la casualidad de que uno estaba disponible. Era como si hiciéramos la pregunta más ridícula. Se burlaba, estaba engreída por el hecho de que no teníamos uno. No crea la mejor impresión para esta sucursal. El personal está destinado a ser acogedor y educado, seguramente incluso si la respuesta es un no? No nos dirigiremos hacia allá.

10/10. Staff are incredible, the food is the best I’ve had and all reasonably priced! Couldn’t recommend enough!

6.50 for a choice of 10 vegetarian mains that you can even mix and match. WOW, for London this is amazing. Rice is extra obvs but I just had the main to take away. Eat in is same price. It's more a cafe than resterount. No tablecloths here, just good food done well and at a price point that you become a regular. Friendly staff

Usually good food but paid 18.50 for a takeaway and chicken madras had 5 bits of chicken in never again proper waste of money stay away

I order on there counter and food is nice when i sher at work they likes and said next time we will get from there I say Mr.Rana special Thank you to fone my food quickly

Enjoyed my first takeaway last night and after eating curry for some 50 years I can honestly say that the tandoori chicken was the best I’ve ever eaten. Highly recommended.

There were 11 of us together for my birthday celebration. The staff were excellent in every respect. The food was amazing quality and the portions were a good size . Drinks are reasonably priced and a good selection. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue and I will be returning soon .

Such nice restaurant, especially their kosha mangsho. My Caribbean friend loved it so much. I used to drive all the way there only to eat in this restaurant. It is so sad that it closed down.

Very poor. Probably the worst home delivery I have ever had. Chicken dry. Asked for pickles, just got lime pickle. Everything drenched with bland tomatoes. Very bad for the price they have the cheek to charge. Always said we would try a sit in meal but after this let down, not a chance. Got far better things to spend my money on.

A good go-to for basic food. Food is always tasty and service is always good.

It’s rare that I take the time to post a review, but that was easily the worst Indian takeaway that I’ve ever had! The Korma dish had the consistency of porridge, and it tasted like lentil soup with a dash of coconut! The ‘King’ Prawns in the Dhansak dish were overcooked, undersized, and lacking in numbers. The Pilau Rice was stodgy and clumped in large balls. The Garlic Naan didn’t taste of garlic, and the Peshwari Naan was falling apart. Both breads were dry, £30-ish wasted! Dreadful.

Delivered early as usual. The bar was set high with the very first delivery last year. Compared to that food could have been warmer. It's consistently tasty and enjoyable, occasionally, more lightly seasoned than expected and smaller than usual. All in all one of the best for sure.
