Gunpowder in Tower Hamlets

Todo estaba muy sabroso y como nada que haya tenido antes, tenía 6 platos compartidos con un amigo y todos estaban deliciosos. Hay muy pocas fundas, pero están apretadas en un espacio bastante pequeño, por lo que no es un lugar para relajarse. Pero la comida es tan buena que realmente no importa. 130 libras por 2 bebidas inc.

Desafortunadamente, el nivel de ruido en este restaurante compensa el buen servicio y la comida sabrosa. Evita si quieres tener cualquier tipo de conversación sin tener que gritar de principio a fin. Es demasiado pequeño y 2-3 mesas de un grupo de 4-6 personas son suficientes para saturar el nivel de sonido. No volveremos, el barrio no carece de deliciosos restaurantes indios. .

Hay 3 ubicaciones de pólvora en Londres. Fui al de Spitalfields. Es un restaurante muy pequeño que sirve deliciosas comidas sobre comida india. Todo es creativo y delicioso. Tuve la ensalada de col rizada absolutamente deliciosa - la col rizada es crujiente! Y la hoja envolvió el pescado con una salsa cremosa de mostaza - muy húmedo y sabroso. De mi reserva, sabían que mi cumpleaños se acercaba, así que también me dieron un postre con una vela de cumpleaños - muy considerado! Los camareros y el personal eran muy amables y serviciales. Londres es conocido por la buena comida india, la pólvora realmente se destaca como un gran ejemplo.

Es comida de 5 estrellas. El pollo Tandoori era excelente, tenía que pedir otro! Bonitos platos pequeños de tapas. Acogedor, apretado. El riego de boca ahora refleja este lugar. Vale la pena visitarlo.

De principio a fin, la experiencia fue nada menos que excepcional. La comida era simplemente excepcional. Cada plato era una sinfonía de sabores, perfectamente equilibrado e increíblemente delicioso. Las especias eran auténticas y los ingredientes frescos, creando una experiencia culinaria verdaderamente memorable. Disfruté particularmente de las patatas fritas Okra, el Saag con Paneer y las gambas a la parrilla, todos fueron cocinados a la perfección. El servicio fue igualmente impresionante. El personal era atento y cortés, siempre dispuesto a acomodar nuestras necesidades con una sonrisa. En términos de precio, el restaurante ofrece una excelente relación calidad-precio. Las porciones eran generosas, y la calidad de la comida bien valía la pena el precio. En general, no dudaría en cenar aquí de nuevo. La combinación de comida exquisita, servicio excepcional y gran relación calidad-precio hace de este restaurante una visita obligada. Muy recomendable!

Fantastic dining experience, choice of small plates tapas style and sharing platters. Delicious alternative to traditional Indian meal.

Such beautiful food, amazing atmosphere and the friendliest staff I think I’ve ever met. Whilst only a small venue, it really works. Trust the staff’s recommendations.

We had a superb lunch - the food, especially the masala, was absolutely delicious! Patrycja was most cheerful, helpful and friendly in serving us. We’ll definitely return!

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The menu was straightforward and we weee spoilt for choice. The staff provided us with helpful information. The shot bomb started was a delight, and although every dish was lovely, the venison donut deserves special mention. Quite extraordinary. Great wines by the glass and an excellent cocktail too.

We live nearby and this was our 3rd visit to the Gunpowder. It’s really tasty Indian food, promptly served, in a cozy atmosphere. We had a French friend across and he was also enraptured. Special mention to the seabass, the pork ribs, the okra fries, and many others. We had a delicious dinner.

We went for a very early dinner. Food is really nice, good wine and very friendly people around. For sure we will be back. Almost forgot about a dessert, bread and butter is a must.

Really loved our visit. Lots of places say they are doing Indian tapas then disappoint! Gunpowder certainly didn’t - even made broccoli exciting. Recommend you book as packed on a Tuesday evening. 😀

Walk in on Saturday night and pleased to get a seat…. Didn’t know what to expect but menu looked interesting, if not familiar. Staff very attentive and explained the menu items. They recommended around 5 items (like tapas menu) but since we were not hungry chose 3. Venison Doughnut. Potato chaat and mustard broccoli and 2 glasses of their house Portuguese red. It was all delicious and very different from my normal Indian food. Venison was the best ! Very nice visit and will return with an appetite next time

The lunch menu is fairly priced 22£ for two courses. The tandoori chicken chop was very small . The okra fries were reasonable. Main dish- strips of beef in a curry sauce was a decent portion . A bowl of white rice was included . The waiter was not customer friendly and unusual for such a restaurant did not replace the plates and cutlery - why should I eat curry beef on a plate with tandoori sauce ? Ate many Indian restaurants and this one has a very limited menu plus wooden stools uncomfortable .

If you want overpriced microwave heated curry for lunch on uncomfortable wooden chairs with unhelpful staff, this is the place for you. Not really Indian at all as the pork ribs were Chinese. The potato chaat was cold the feast at £50 a head was sooooo over priced . Avoid

Called to make a group booking. Spoke to Sophie who could do with extra training on her telephone manners on how to speak to potential customers. She was rude, arrogant and abrupt. I complained about her behaviour to Gunpowder and they turned around and said I was the rude and disrespectful person. They also told me I wasn’t welcome in any of their restaurants as they value the safety and security of their staff. Gunpowder how about you employ staff with manners and ones that can speak in English. I have no reason to spend a penny in any of your restaurants as you didn’t deal with my issues in a proper manner. You listened to Sophie’s lies and made me out to be the problem. After reading the negative reviews about this branch on Google I am glad we didn’t turn up at your restaurant and wasted our money.

What a great discovery. We wouldn’t have found this, tiny little place down a small street but a good review led us to it. It’s so small I’d definitely recommend booking. The food is brilliant, some of the best we had in London. As it’s small, it’s lively and compact so if you want a quiet romantic night, maybe this isn’t your place. We couldn’t fault this place, amazing.

Wow - did I ever expect to have a shot as food? Rasam ke Bomb will let you have this experience! Also, this place has the meatiest soft shell crab I've ever had - definitely recommended! Don't be scared to overorder ;)

Me and my girlfriend tried our luck while passing by this small restaurant and where nicely surprised that even though restaurant was full ladies managed to squeeze us in. Place is small but cosy with only bar stools and high tables what gives the place...

Had a wonderful visit to Gunpowder Spitalfields. First of all, the food was so good. A little pricey for the portion sizes, but due to us going for a special occasion, every penny was worth it. Highlights definitely being the chaat and the mustard broccoli....

Very intimate atmosphere, and the staff are really friendly and attentive. The food was good, if slightly overpriced. The waitress that served us (blonde hair) was lovely, so helpful and kind. All the staff we saw were very nice. We will definitely visit again!

I came here, following the Michelin guide’ recommendation. Found it very nice, with great quality and nice “different” specialties from the usual suspects you find in Indian restaurants. Ribs are especially delicious!!

This is a tiny restaurant with an enormous atmosphere. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the service is excellent. We had the small plates of food which were fresh, tasty and delicious. I really cannot fault this restaurant.

Very small restaurant in Spitalfields (the one in Soho is much bigger and has a bigger menu), but cosy and welcoming. You will sit on stools though for the most part. Not a huge menus but plenty of sharing plates to try. Nice food well...
