The food here is always amazing! My go to is the Sahara chicken steak! The customer service we received from Omar was impeccable, polite and professional. He throughly checked on us multiple times to ensure we had everything we needed. Love the new addition of the robot serving our food! Was a wonderful meal and experience!

Update: 5th August 2024 - ordered a rump steak medium rare and it tasted perfect. The chocolate pudding and custard was just as good as before. I tried the Sahara mint crush drink and it tasted really refreshing after that meal. Also service has massively improved compared to before, the 2 waiters were really polite!

I visit this restaurant frequently and more recently have noticed a new member of staff with exceptional customer service. The second time I ordered with him, he remembered something I ordered from my first order with him. I was so pleasantly surprised because it was part of my usual order and I had forgotten to add it since I was dealing with my baby while ordering. Kazim has also gone out of his way twice to help me heat my baby’s food. As a mum of a young baby, this makes my experience 100x easier. Thank you very much Kazim, I’m so glad you work here!

Second time having food from Sahara grill, travelled from Newcastle and can confidently say we were not disappointed! From the amazing customer service, the facility to pray with the staff which contributed to creating a welcoming and very friendly environment. The food was 10/10 (highly recommend the steak!) and the service was fast despite being busy. :) Special thanks to Azim for his amazing service!

A lovely restaurant with a lovely staff. Gave me free soft drinks on my first takeaway order. Went back for another meal the next day and they helped me with internet as I needed to finish some work. Food was delicious, decent waiting time and lovely customer service!

I’ve visited Sahara grill a number of times (inc their other branches) but I think this was my last. On two occasions now the chops tasted very meaty/gamy. The service is really not acceptable considering between us we spent in the region of £500. The lighting is far too dim. One of the lights was not working and the bulb got replaced at our insistence. Food was served in a frantic manner (e.g. chops given first and then a while later the chips: do we wait and let the chops go cold or do we eat the chops now and then eat the chips, a side dish, alone?) The children’s chicken burger was disgusting. One of the steaks we ordered medium but was more medium rare if not rare. Even though we reserved beforehand, they told us tables were ready when they weren’t. But I think overall having spent such an amount you don’t walk away feeling like you were looked after, it’s a very dull conveyor belt like service. So I’d rather take my custom elsewhere.

Visited the Sahara grill with my friends yesterday the 13/07 for the first time and I was really impressed with the hospitality. Giving a good commendation to our excellent attendant 'Kazim' a very nice bloke; he was attentive, approachable, very efficient and friendly. The food was good and tasty and the price was reasonable. Nice ambience and good atmosphere but could do with some improvement. The QR code wasn't necessary because the internet didn't work properly and the place would have been nice to inject some soft background music to make the atmosphere more relaxed. Overall experience was enjoyable.

The service was very good and Kazeem the allocated waiter was brilliant. He was friendly listened to our needs and delivered a first class service.

The chips tasted old and dry. Chilli sauce tasted weird in this branch and was not very appetising. Service was not very good, sticking to Gants Hill or Leyton since Adam is the only one who knows how to treat customers right.

Ordered the T Bone steak which was horrible! Ordered it medium rare but it was too chewy. The gravy was awful! I told the manager and he did even have the courage to apologise and said ‘sometimes the meat isn’t good standard’. I’d avoid this branch at all costs.

What a find Sahara Grill in East London was for us! We were searching for something beyond traditional kabobs and naan. We ordered mocktails, sahara wings and the Ritz Frite. Wings were just perfect - hot, tangy and crisp. The Ritz Frite was a delicious fusion of Mauritanian rice, tender chicken slices and Chinese veggies. Just excellent food. . And the staff was super attentive. Highly recommend

I recently dined at Sahara Grill in Whitechapel and had an amazing experience! The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the wings, which were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The grilled chicken was incredibly juicy and flavorful, definitely one of the best I’ve had. Their mojitos were refreshing and expertly mixed, the perfect complement to our meal. The highlight of our visit was the legacy steaks. They were tender, succulent, and bursting with flavor. The quality of the meat was evident in every bite. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a great dining experience. I highly recommend Sahara Grill to anyone looking for fantastic food and a great dining atmosphere in Whitechapel. We will definitely be returning soon!

Excellent food good service brilliant atmosphere

I've heard a lot about this place, so I decided it was time to visit. The food was tasty, but nothing extraordinary. Chicken was good and well marinated. Unfortunately, a few issues reduced my overall experience. First, the QR code menus. While I understood their use during the pandemic, it feels unnecessary now. Our entire group struggled to get online to view the menu due to poor internet connection downstairs, which was frustrating and dampened the experience. Secondly, they don't offer Coke or Pepsi, just some generic cola drinks. This was a disappointment for our group.

DO NOT Order from them online - They let Uber Eats pick up and deliver the WRONG order to me. I paid 2X as much as what the other person ordered - and the restaurant refused to send me my food - and refused to try to help. I'm Cameron H - NOT Christian G - I ordered Steak - and I certainly didn't order a crap dessert.

It was completely overpriced, especially when the service was terrible. Got served 15mind after sitting down. The waiter was pissed with some other members of staff as it seemed like he was the only one serving and the rest were chilling. Don't really wanna be served by someone who is pissed off! Wings looked like they were on some vegan diet. Flavour was lovely to be fair. Steak is what Sahara is known for, so it can't go wrong there. Can of Rio £3, mate, you're having a bubble, ain't ya! £23 for 8 cans of Rio, no wonder I aint been to Sahara Grill in 5 years. Hopefully, next I visit will be when I'm dead

Particular member of staff was rude and service was terrible does not know the meaning of customer service, would I dine here again certainly not. Overpriced for what it is, not the same Sahara Grill we knew over ten years ago. The reaction to having more customers was really poor.

New and clean restaurant was taken by recommendation. I went with someone and they took their family there and had a good experience it's a shame as I was really looking forward to going.. My first visit and honest experience.. the mocktails were okay too strong.. basically just ice.. not fond of it, I wouldn't get them again. The starters cod bites was the only thing that was good, the king prawns were ok bland, no salt or flavour hence why I had one out of four. The mash potatoes side was so bland, no salt or flavour, we both tried it and then sent it back and swapped it for rice which was then very dry and no flavour, this didn't even taste like mash it tasted like nothing like water. The mains fish £16.95 on the menu so on the bill just seen was £18ish not sure why they charged extra fee quid? I was really looking forward to it and sadly it was overcooked and burnt I sadly had to spit it out as it left a burnt taste in my mouth made me feel sick. I was then given a replacement and that was so flavourless and bland that I didn't bother to finish it or let them know as there's no point anymore.. I gave up by this point and everyone was busy to tell either. When we came it wasn't too busy either it was quieter. So all in all that was not worth £73 for two people for very bland and flavourless food... It's a shame as I really hoped it would be good and it wasn't :( I was so gutted and disappointed I really wanted to have nice food I was so hungry. For that amount of money we could've fed our whole family twice. I'm very sad. I don't know what was going on with them. The staff were okish also. It's good they have a prayer space too. The interior is modern and dark.

The chicken is not cooked inside it has been over grilled from outside. The quality of the chicken is poor even the wings are tiny with blood inside. Overpriced cheap quality wholesale meat and chicken used at these establishments. Appalling for a place of that should be of this standard.

This restaurant offers a distinctive blend of Indian/Pakistani cuisine that I absolutely adore. I have fond memories of ordering their chicken wings with rice; the flavors were smooth and succulent, leaving me thoroughly satisfied. I would highly recommend this establishment, with its high-quality offerings, as a top choice over Tayyabs and Needos.

i came in at 11pm and i very kind boy called Suleiman tended to my needs i have a Sahara steak and it was absolutely lovely it i will be coming back soon and spending more money

I visit at least once a year. This time, I decided to branch out from my usual (but a bit pricey) steak option and try the Sahara Chicken Steak with extra peppercorn sauce. Wow! Absolutely delicious - it's the best chicken steak I've ever had. The peppercorn sauce added a fantastic kick, and I'll definitely be ordering this again next time. Highly recommend!

Been many times, this time the chicken was a bit on the dry/ overcooked side. The steak strips were nice, i love their chilli sauce has a great kick to it. The lychee Mojito's were great, dessert was a bit disappointing i ordered 3 brownie and icecream, caramel sundae and profiteroles based on the pictures...non of it looked like pictures. Tbf they tasted decent but NOT the caramel one, that was a disappointment.

Our experience dining at this place today was really disappointing. We decided to celebrate my daughter's birthday there since she enjoys the food there, but it fell short of expectations. Despite a friendly welcome from our waiter, our excitement quickly turned sour when we found an unexpected object in my food. Although they replaced it promptly, it dampened the experience, especially as we had to wait for my replacement food to arrive so everyone else had to start without me. To make up for it, they offered complimentary dessert, but this ended up being a bit of a letdown due to the manager's insistence on only providing one free treat, which felt stingy. What's more, we didn't even request compensation; it was their offer. Even a couple of scoops of ice cream for my daughters (which is what we asked for) would've been fine, but the manager seemed inflexible, handing us one dessert with four spoons. It made us feel like an afterthought or as if our experience didn't matter. I didn't say anything as I didn't want to make a scene and ruin my daughters birthday. Additionally, my wife mentioned that the steak wasn't up to the standard of our previous visits, and the atmosphere in the restaurant felt dull. Overall, Sahara Grill's mishap with the food and the manager's reluctance to fully compensate left us feeling undervalued. While we used to enjoy dining at both their Whitechapel and Leyton restaurants, it's doubtful we'll be back again.

The food was a 10/10 alongside with the exceptional service from our waitor Suleman who seems to have a positive outlook and collaborative spirit which also brings dedication and excellence in every task

we were in whitechapel as we originally planned to go monster burger however there was no seating so we ended up going sahara grill as it wasn’t too far it was around 7pm ish and we were greeeted at the door by brother jabran who gave us a table downstairs almost instantly, our waiter suleman then showed us our table and took our order, we both had lamb filet steaks with rice medium well and it was so nice and soft, in total we both spent around £30 each which was well worth it for the food and service we received. 9/10

I had a booking at Sahara and I was accompanied by staff at the door. The service was brilliant and the waiter Sulemaan was a very kind young man and I was delighted to be there. Aswell, as the service the food was amazing and the recommendations given by Sulemaan were spot on.

Sahara grill Whitechapel overall 10/10, was greeted at the door by the doorman who let us in, and despite no booking had a table ready for us within 5 mins of waiting atmosphere was quite pleasant and we our order was taken and was served by Sulemaan, impeccable service by sulemaan was very quick to satisfy my needs whether it was a refill or anything else that needed. Was running late and needed a seat asap, was greeted at the door by a very respectful gentleman and he gave me and my mrs a seat without hesitation. Me and a few friends were out in the area and Sahara grill looked liked a nice place to eat. We were able to walk in and be seated within minutes. Our designated waiter sulemaan gave us enough time to pick what we wanted to eat and recommended different choices. He gave us amazing service the entire meal. Couldn’t ask for more.

Sahara Grill has experienced a decline in quality. The burgers lacked flavor and the Sahara XXL wasn't adequately marinated or seasoned, resulting in a bland taste and not being spicy. The classic burger is just a standard burger, nothing wow. Additionally, the Sahara shrimps were disappointing, particularly due to their unappetising taste from their special sauce. Overall, the dining experience did not meet expectations. Over priced food with low quality. Also, one of the waiter appeared disinterested or unmotivated, which contributed to the overall negative dining atmosphere.

Really disappointed with my recent visit. The quality of food has gone down unfortunately compared to the last time I visited. The burgers were awful, with a basic sesame seed bun, one piece of old lettuce and no sauce. For the price they charge, it doesn't even come with chips or salad. I decided to try their new loaded chips which I regret. It was dry (despite there being a choice for sauce), the cheese tasted like plastic and the chicken mince that was used tasted old. We also ordered beef saute and chicken fajita which tasted the best out of everything but still nothing special. For these prices, you can definitely go somewhere better, where they actually care about providing good food. Ambience was dead. Never coming back here again!

Came as a group of 6 for Iftar, we pre ordered as requested, however the Bernie wings and some of the steak dishes were way too hot, almost every dish had some kind of chilli sauce which ruined the flavours, we also ordered the sauté combo dish to share and the beef was all rubbery and wasn’t full of flavour, porterhouse steak was dry and no flavour as well, there was no guide on the size of steaks on the menu and the lamb fillet steak was also dry and rubber like, well over priced food for what you get, we all ordered mojitos and that was a rip off, 75% ice and the rest was the drink, I asked for a large bottle of water but instead they bought us individual bottles and no glasses, we only got 3 dates between 6 of us and 1 was rotten, overall, we won’t be coming back, wish I had stuck to a burger or grilled chicken.

Went as a group, Chicken was pink, Steak was as dry as the Sahara desert, and the chips were clearly frozen. The salmon was alright the but salmon fillet was minuscule. Never stepping foot again, you can check i dont usually leave bad reviews....

Terrible service at the Whitechapel branch today, we waited over 30 minutes for food (when another couple who ordered after us were finished by the time we were served) and when the food arrived we still had items wrong. The manager in particular (short white shirted man) on ground floor was very rude thoroughout, he made us come up to the till to pay for our meal when others paid at the table and he didnt even bother apologising for the issues. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Avoid them if possible. Old guy at reception very bad behaviour. Waited very long and they do not care about customers.

Had the Sahara chicken, Cajun chicken burger and chicken wings; all tasted good; however, I specifically asked for the fries to be crispy, waiter said “ok”, but the were no different than the rest of the fries in other meals!!
