Was a bit wary of this restaurant as it was so quiet with very few people dining in. The decor was bland and outdated. The menu was quite diverse with all the popular Indian dishes on there, however we had to wait about 45 minutes for the food to arrive. When it did though, it was fresh and absolutely delicious. Everything tasted exquisite. Their naan bread is perfection! I'd be willing to go back just for the garlic naan. The service wasn't so great as one of the waiters seemed to be in a rather foul mood as we could hear them cussing. I was also served a drink with a rathe old looking lemon slice.

Easily the best curry I had on my recent trip to London. Amazing range of dishes, all very tasty and great staff. A special mention to the waiter who showed us his coin collection after we got chatting one night. Will definitely return when back in London..

Food was tasty actually, had mild dishes not hot at all, namely the lamb joint,calamari and prawns masala. However, i had to spend the night in the toilet as something was bad in there. Honestly, the flavour isn't worth the time in the toilet. Avoid.

Had the most wonderful meal there last night! We've lived in Wapping 2 years and I've always wanted to go in. It was sad to see them having to shut over covid but I'm glad they're back and I've been able to try. The food is amazing and the team are genuinely passionate about Wapping. If they're not too busy I'd recommend asking to see his photos of Wapping in the 80's. Also the best curry I've had outside of India. Also! The house red was surprisingly good. Will be back regularly !!

Great place to have Indian diner. Clean, quiet, reasonably priced (not the cheapest though) and very good food. Staff is also very professional and helpful. Definitely a great option in the area ! On year after, still a great experience!! Such a nice and cosy place. And the staff is so nice!! Long live Laksha Bay!!

Absolutely delicious food at reasonable prices. Laksha Bay is a staple in Wapping. Unfortunately, you don't see many guests eating in during the week. I really hope the Wapping community continues to support this lovely restaurant. It was such a shame when they had to close during lockdown. Let's hope they never have to close again. Been wanting to try this place for a year now, so glad they reopened in the last couple of weeks! The staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is very cosy. The highlight clearly is the food though. I am quite critical, but they easily have the best onion bhaji I ever ate and a great selection of dishes that are very tasteful and fresh. The value for money is really good as I would say that the quality of the food is much higher than at an average Indian restaurant, though the price is actually in line.

We ordered take away and the food was delicious! And the atmosphere inside looks very nice so we’ll eat in soon.

Such lovely food !!! the Tikka problem the best iv had in England . Like what iv had on holiday in India . Can’t get over how nice all the dishes we’ve had are . Staff very nice to., only thing I could fault would be the decor dark and dated. Definitely going to be back a lot .

Been coming here on and off for a few years. Food has really improved over the last 12m, new chef really knows is stuff, and we've become regulars! Rogan josh is a particular highlight, in my opinion!

Delicious food. Didn't deliver poppadoms as ordered and paid for, we called to let them know - they were seriously rude and made a comment along the lines of 'so did the poppadoms fall out of the bag on the way from the restaurant. Very agressive, which is a shame as the food was really good.

Very good food, reasonably priced (20% discount for pick-up over £20!) and fast service

When I ordered on the website, it took 1 hour for my order to come and I don't live far from the restaurant. I called them and they didn't see my order. The man on the phone was not very kind. I put 3 stars because the quality of food was very good for the price I paid despite this incident.

Las mesas están muy juntas. Las sillas de mis amigos tocaban las sillas de la fiesta en la mesa de al lado. Preguntamos si podíamos movernos a otra mesa que no volviera a otras mesas. El jefe de camareros fue bastante grosero y dijo que el restaurante estaba completamente lleno y que no seguiría moviéndose cuando llegaran nuevos invitados (a medida que avanzaba la noche, ningún otro invitado vino al restaurante). Añadió que si no nos gustó, ir a otro lugar. Terminamos hacinados en un lado de la mesa. Para ese momento llevábamos una hora esperando a que saliera nuestro plato principal y se estaba haciendo tarde para intentar ir a otro restaurante. De lo contrario, nos hubiéramos ido en ese punto. Entendemos que los restaurantes están pasando por un momento difícil, por lo que no queríamos armar demasiado alboroto.

It was great..except for the piece of plastic in the food. Although I will come back because the food is good, the fact that the plastic in food was not acknowledged by taking a simple pompadom off the bill was rather disappointing. Let’s get it right next time

Hidden gem in Wapping. The staff is exceptionally professional and the food is great. My favourite is chilli garlic lamb (it is not on the menu but you can order it) If you dine in, you would be amazed by the presentation. Something you wouldn’t except just by the look from the outside.

Loved it service food atmosphere was amazing

This is a hidden gem in Wapping.We have been its customer for over five years, and it never disappoints us. Though its exterior may look ordinary, its food is exquisite and its service is exceptional. I highly recommend you to eat in because the dishes are presented in professional fine dinning standard (at least for us!) Words cannot do justice - you need to try it yourself!

This used to be a bog standard, get a takeaway restaurant. Not any more. The chef(s) make a real effort to produce light food which uses clever spicing, touches of interesting sauces and looks great. This is well worth a try.

Food taste less than expectations

Realmente queríamos una comida del domingo por la noche y encontramos este lugar a una corta distancia a pie de donde nos estábamos quedando. Estaba bien para un curry rápido. El personal es amable pero no demasiado atento, tanto así que solo tomamos una copa. La comida estaba bien pero nada increíble

We very much enjoyed our meal. They offer a 20% discount if you pick up your order over £20.

I live locally and have been here many times for a Friday evening family meal. The staff are all very friendly and the service attentive but not intrusive. I must say that this last Friday's visit was a bit of a disappointment; They have a new menu and certain staples have disappeared, no Onion Bhajis! Instead they have Vegetable Patties which were expensive, and not appealing, seeming to consist more of a floury dough than vegetable. The big shock was the price. I've got used to spending £60-65 for a Family of 4, this Friday we were only 3, so 2 fewer vegetable sides were ordered + no dessert as were tired and only 3 beers instead of 5. The bill came to £83. Not a huge amount I know, but a big increase on our last visit only 2 weeks ago. Will still go as local and we like the staff, just not as often.

One missing item, and one other item replaced with something we didnt want

Varied menu. Some good fish options. e.g. Monkfish, seabass, Salmon rather than your usual " slurry of curry". Service good. Will return

PD: decidí ir a la bahía de Laksha para llevar. Pedí un cordero biryani. ¡Aparentemente tienen un nuevo chef que había cambiado el plato! Wow, qué cambio, fue súper delicioso. Extremadamente sabroso con generosa ración de carne. Excelente, gracias de nuevo a Laksha Bay por una excelente comida.

Fairly decent Indian place in Wapping. I had the Kathmandu, which to my liking was spicy but there were milder options available. The restaurant has a slightly old fashioned decor but the food makes it worth it.

I am a regular costumer of this little indian restaurant down in Wapping. What to say, the best lamb biryani in the zone. One waiter is a great estimator of the Italian sexy comedy, and, as an Italian, this made my experience there funny and sociable.

Plats savoureux, décoration sobre et service impeccable avec un personnel très agreable. Un très bon moment.

This is a wonderful little restaurant in the heart of Wapping. Service is excellent and the food is always served in a timely fashion. The house specials are great. Well worth a visit.

Ate here a few weeks back. After reading the reviews I thought this place was a winner which leaves me to believe some reviews here arnet trust worthy. Had a Tandoori half chicken that must have come from one of the worlds smallest chickens. It tasted ok but was very small. My buddy had a lamb buna. This was very poor. Lamb was in small gristly and very chewy pieces. Lamb curries should be in big chunks and slow cooked soft lumps of loveliness. I would say probably the worst lamb curry I have had in this country. So lets check the Food Standards Agency rating......oh a 2 needs major improvement. Would i recommend it? Not a chance.

The food was so watery. The yoghurt sauce for the poppodom was runny like water - not yoghurty at all - and the curries were the same. The korma had sugar in it and didn’t taste of coconut at all (and see the photo - does this look like a korma?!). Terrible; I will never eat here again. We had a takeaway from JustEat.

Was a very pleasant meal with somewhat unusual eclectic menu selection but very tasty vegetable biryanis and accompanying vegetable curry.

En lugar de pedir una comida india, decidimos dar la vuelta a la esquina de la bahía de Laksha para tomar un curry y cervezas. Desde el momento en que entramos, hasta el momento en que nos fuimos el servicio fue simplemente excepcional, nos sentimos muy bienvenidos. La comida era tan buena como el servicio. Las chuletas de cordero tandoori eran deliciosas y el House especial, pollo chisporroteante especial era delicioso y picante. Excelente relación calidad-precio y super raciones. ¿Volveré? ¡Tengo y volveré una y otra vez!

Si comió Onion Bhaji, seguido por Plain Rice y Lamb Jalfrezi, Jalfrezi fue súper picante. pero justo como me gusta, mi colega tenía el mismo plato con pollo tikka masala y arroz pilau, con keema Naan. Ninguna queja de ninguno de nosotros el servicio fue rápido y amable y 40 entre nosotros muy contentos.

Fantastic friendly service last time we went, the freshly-cooked food was delicious and arrived in about 20mins. It was very quiet when we visited. Our experience when we ordered delivered take-away was VERY disappointing (poorly cooked, stale food) but we were definitely pleased with the in-restaurant service. Planning to go back.
