We waited for 2 hours to get a table when the booking was confirmed, and then an additional 1 hour for food.. The pain continues.. as we were provided with food with no cutlery and then we were asked would you take main course before the starter (the basic skill was missing).The plates that were provided were untidy with hair in it. We had the worst Biriyani a Bengali can have and the food was quite pricey. If you cannot cater a large customer please hire some people or get a management skill.

We organised a private event which Prithadi hosted to perfection: plenty of food to go with the warm hospitality set in Posto’s cosy ambience. The customised menu was flawless with a service to match a homely setting. Would highly recommend..in fact, Posto is the go to place for everyone in our friend circle 👌👍🏼😀

I would say the comestible and the service were quite amazing; thus, if you visit there, you will be addicted to it.

This cozy eatery very conveniently located at a stone throw distance from the Rayners Lane tube station has never disappointed me and my family!!!! Its a cauldron of beautiful flavours...flavours oh so close to my heart and soul....flavours that transport me back to my childhood days spent in my favourite city Kolkata!! Specially my recent visit to Posto was nothing short of a sheer nostalgia....be it the crispy and flavourful chicken lollipops....or the soft and succulent chicken malai tikka that melts in the mouth...or the beautifully presented super delectable Chelo kabab...or the Golbaarir mutton kosha cooked to perfection, Posto surely won our hearts!! And last but not the least, the fingerlicking delicious butter chicken which is described by my 12 yr old son as the besttttttt butter chicken in the whole wide world. The portions are generous....the staff very cordial and friendly.. the decor is warm and inviting.....a perfect place to unwind and chill after a hectic day at work or to have fun with friends n family to brighten up your weekends. Very quiet when we went for dinner, and seemed only a few staff working. Service was actually quite speedy, and food was generally very good, albeit perhaps not as wonderful as some of the reviews indicated. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the cuisine and will likely go again.

Hi! I am Aadoo! I'm 9 years old, So today I'm going to write a review about Posto. I have been there a few times so I have quite a few favourite dishes. Here are some must try dishes :) Taka tak chicken wings Kulfi ( Ice-cream) Bengali veg thali Khajoori tikki Chilly chicken All of these dishes taste very authentic! I would always recommend the thali. Staff is also kind, and I like speaking to Aunty whenever I visit Posto. I would totally recommend Posto!

The best bengali (Calcutta) cuisine in UK. We ordered Beetroot Vegetable Chop, Fish Cutlet, Kolkata Mutton Biryani and Mutton Kosha. Each of these delicacies were exactly the taste that you will find in Calcutta.

A BIG BIG CHEAT!! Last three occasions, within a span on two months, got home deliveries through Deliveroo. 1. On one occasion, gave tandoori roti when asked for butter naan, gave chicken wings when asked for chicken tikka bites. Both the items replaced were of lower price and the price benefit wasn't passed on to!! 2. Another occasion, asked for Rohu Fish Kalia, was given Kalia with white fish. 3. And today, the Mutton Kosha ordered, was all bones!! This is sheer cheating!!

Garden barbecue-lunch party in our backyard became a tradition until Covid-19 stanched a few valuable years away from our social lives. Therefore, this ‘returning to life’ transition year (2022) for our “garden barbecue and lunch party” we ordered Indian lunch from Posto like I always used to do. And again Pritha Mukherjee did her magic with her culinary skill. I must recommend Posto’s Kolkata style mutton biriyani as it always reminds me my hometown-Kolkata, meat was extremely succulent with the right amount of spices, fish croquettes were absolutely “melt in mouth”spicy ball. Also their professional packing and punctual delivery service are praiseworthy too. Finally in a nutshell, Posto is a boon for all bond taste buds living in London and I will go back to you again and again. Well done Posto, keep it up!

We had been here for a family dinner. You will see a lot of bengali restaurant in and around london, but not all have that taste from Bengal, if you know what i mean. Posto can definitely give you that taste. The owner and the staffs have great behavior too. I liked the taste so much, i gave them a catering order for a small party too. We have tried the below dishes Pulao rice, mutton kosha, fish fry, veg chop, karaishutir kachuri, alu dum, fish kalia, fish amritsari, chutney.

Absolutely delicious food. Timely and reliable. The chicken egg rolls, the kosha mangsho and the biryani and tomato chutney are absolute must haves.

Just wanted to shout out to TEAM POSTO and say a very big THANK YOU. Pritha and your whole team at Posto really excelled yourselves last Sunday. Thank you for making me feel so special and for helping to make my 50th birthday celebration (with family and close family friends) a memorable day for Sujoya, me and the entire gathering. We all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly - the food was excellent (as always), the menu superb (everyone loved every item) and your staff were so friendly and attentive. Thanks for working with me to plan a menu that included all my favourite items. The pappadom and chutneys as a start was a lovely touch from you. The starters of fish fry, chilli chicken and peas kachuri / aloor dum were all great hits with the guests. This was followed by mains of Daal makhani, baingan bahar, paneer kofta curry, with basanti pulao and a selection of breads as well as the twin piece de resistance items: chingri machher malai curry and kosha mangsho. Each item was delicious and plentiful, replenished whenever we asked for top ups. The meat was soft and tender and falling off the bone, the prawns were of a great size, cooked to perfection. The paneer koftas were perfect - tender and moist. The vegetarian items (for our one vegetarian guest) were also delicious, with special mention being made of the beetroot chops and kathal kalia, both delicious and divine. Finally, I must mention the shimayer payesh (vermicelli pudding) - our dessert. The payesh was delicious - creamy, tasty, with just the right amount of sweetness and refreshingly chilled. And as you know a Bengali birthday is never complete without payesh - and yours was simply superb! Each of the guests have personally commented on how much they enjoyed the delicious food, the wonderful ambience and the friendly service from the staff. A huge thanks to Vikram and the entire team for everything they did. Here’s wishing Posto all the very best as you scale even greater heights and grow from strength to strength.

This wasn’t my first visit to Posto, each visit reminds me food that I had at Kolkatta. The owner makes the visit worth each time we have food their by suggesting us the best dishes that suit our choices in the menu. This time we took two of our friends and they loved the food, drinks the homely hospitality. We truly recommend this place. It’s worth every bit of money and time!if you crave for Bengali food.

We ordered the Bong Connection Box from Posto to celebrate a family occasion and it didn't disappoint. Let me start with the packaging and delivery. We were very impressed with the care and attention with which the food was prepared and packaged. The delivery was on time and left at our doorstep as instructed. Each packet mentioned the heating time of the food item within. Now for the taste...it reminded me of home! The cholar daal was thick and creamy, the mutton kosha succulent and spicy! Even the rui shorshe was an instant hit with the family. The meal was great value for money as the items were varied and the portions plenty. The home delivery option from Posto is definitely an added bonus.

So much variety, generous portions, authentic flavors and packed with love. I had ordered a Royal Mughlai Box from Posto@home. Just to say that Mutton biryani and Murgh malai tikka have been cooked so delicately with the right amount of spices - too good for our taste buds. Tandoori aloo also deserves a special attention. The amounts were quite generous. Yet to have butter chicken. However, I have had Posto's butter chicken quite a few times and they have never been anything less than 'amazing'. So I know this time it will be the same. Thank you Pritha and team Posto for all your hard work, even in these challenging times of the pandemic.

As Londoners always on the lookout for amazing Indian food, we were very excited to get a strong recommendation for this restaurant by a great food-loving Bengali friend of ours based in the USA. Well our excitement was 100% justified - what an amazing feast we had from Posto! We felt we had had the most exquisite tour of Bengal with all its amazing flavours and taste sensations. It was truly one of the best and most authentic meals we have had in years! We loved the layers of spice that came through in 3D, rather than what is so commonly a monotone superficial hit of harsh heat with little subtlety overpowering everything else. If you've never specifically tried Bengali food, we wholeheartedly recommend you try it from here. A wonderful range of dishes from chefs who really understand flavour, using the freshest ingredients! Posto is remarkably authentic and indeed the best when it comes to impeccable Bengali cuisine for whichever occasion you choose.I had ordered from Posto for our housewarming lunch and was impressed by Pritha's prompt service and the tasty food served. It was exactly how we wished it to be :)The whole luncheon included koraishuti kachuri, aloo dum (customised as per requirement), basanti pulao, navratna korma, and the to-die-for 'Malpua Rabdi'. In short it was perfect!Posto also shared with us the expenses for getting the food delivered to us with the delivery guy, so it was a good bargain for us as well. Will love to order again!

Absolutely brilliant service by team Posto. The longing of Koraishutir Kochuri with Aloor Dom,Mutton Biriyani with Aloo,Kebabs followed by Malpoa is finally fulfilled by very own Posto. I must say in my 5 years stay in the UK, first time I have enjoyed authentic Kolkata Biriyani and Kababs with Kolkata Mughlai touch, thanks to Posto with their recently launched nationwide delivery program.The food was delivered as per the promised timeline. All items were good and we refrigerated them on arrival and enjoyed in 3 meals. All food items were brilliant and had the authentic touch (which is difficult to find in the so called "Indian" restaurants and takeaways here.The show stoppers were:Kolkata Biriyani - just loved the aroma when I took the plate out from the microwave. Mutton was well cooked (no bad smell at all), rice was aromatic and and full of flavour.Murgh Malai Tikka - it was juicy and soft from inside, very much how you get tikka / kabab platters get in Kolkata or other good places India.Value for money: I spend £50 (including delivery) for the Royal Mughlai Box and we (2 people) enjoyed the food in 3 meals, i.e. - £17 for each meal which is great considering the quality for the food.I am sure it's more than enough for just 1 meal for many.Suggestion: please remember to refrigerate the food items as soon as you get that delivered, it was perfectly fine in my scenario but why take a chance with such lovely food.Thank you Team Posto for bringing the flavours of Kolkata to us across the UK. Where do I even start...Cannot thank PrithaDi and her entire team enough for making this possible. Living in Edinburgh we are always on a hunt for 'proper' Bong dishes with no luck... This time we saw this Royal Mughlai Box on Posto Facebook page and pestered PrithaDi to do a trial by sending the food all the way up to bonny Scotland!!! She did.... And I must say our Anniversary/ Valentine weekend turned extra special. Biriyani was yummmilicious with generous, tender mutton pieces, with ** egg and potato ** ..... Bongs looking for mutton (don't confuse with lamb.... they are not the same, contrary to what few individuals believe)... Murgh malai tikka and Shami kabab was super juicy and soft even after travelling a day in cold packaging. Tasty Mughlai chicken and peas kachuri with generous filling was a total show stealer.Fish fry made us nostalgic with an addition of a little kasundi. Damn I'm salivating as I'm writing this review..... Gajar ka Halwa finished the grand feast with a sweet after taste. Wish I had ordered more....I can't thank enough the team of Posto for catering to the needs of probasi Bongs suffering from authentic Bong food deficiency.Also I have already placed order for the next box deal. I’ve been a fan of Posto food from the time this restaurant was launched. My love has only grown and how can it not especially ever since I tried the jackfruit curry and jackfruit biryani. All the flavours are on point and one can tell that each recipe is a labour of love. We once ordered food for a few people of which one had a severe dairy allergy. The Posto team very kindly took us through the allergens on each dish we wanted and then everything arrived impeccably labelled in terms of what was safe to eat for the person with the allergy. They really went the extra mile and we are ever so grateful for that. Happy new year to the Posto team. I look forward to visiting again. Rather sad that this restaurant is not on my Ubereats/ deliveroo range.

Posto in Bengali means poppyseed and it is a delicacy in Eastern part of Bengal. The food too is as authentic as the name. Some of the Posto dishes are ‘exclusive’ and tasty, and only found here. Their intermittent special offers are also very good at very reasonable prices. Always trust Posto food to brighten up any dull day. I am a regular customer and will be ordering again soon. We found out this excellent bengali restaurant in Rayners lane through a friend shortly after our recent move from USA and gave it a try and we really love the food they served there. Food is really authentic bengali food and whenever we miss Kolkata we just go there or order food from there, and they have never disappointed us and having tried many bengali/indian restaurant in USA over the years I can tell you it is one of the best Bengali restaurant we tested outside of India.

Collected the Royal Mughlai box yesterday. Great presentation. All the food was delicious with a very authentic taste. The quantity and quality really was superb. Thank you and best wishes for 2021.

We ordered NYE Royal Mughlai Box and few other dishes from ala cart menu. The food was delivered on time beautifully packed with festive decorations. Each and every dish was delicious with authentic Kolkata taste. The starters shami kebab, malai tikka, fish fry were absolutely yummy. Lamb Biryani was again same lovely Kolkata taste and aroma. We had ordered koraishutir Kochuri and egg chicken kathi roll too. We enjoyed each morsel. With all this we were so stuffed that we could not eat moghlai chicken and kept it for our next meal. Thank you Posto so much for making our NYE meal so special. Would highly recommend this authentic Kolkata food restaurant.

We ordered Mughlai Box comprising of Kolkata style Biriyani, three types of kebabs, nun, chicken chap, fish fry, desert all for 3 people for total cost of £36. Food was excellent and they ha delivered all the way to Maidenhead at the stipulated time.Very well done and Kudos to POSTO team and management.

I see couple of bad reviews here , but i would like to say i had great experience with them always . I think we as bengalis should encourage them rather than put them down especially during these tough times . I personally feel they are doing their best and they are the only restaurant in london serving authentic bengali food . I myself cook , and i can vouch they are good , especially some difficult dishes like kadai shutir kochuri or dimer devil. We recently ordered the new year eve special and they had made really nice boxes for 3 people which were very reasonably priced . Also delivered before time by a very pleasing gentleman. In that we really liked the fish cutlet and gajar ka halwa which were excellent and the biriyani was good. I know bengalis are finicky about their food and service , no wonder there are so few bengali restaurants that survive , but lets give these guys a chance and support them in their almost impossible goal of pleasing the bengali palate.

Just had the worse experience tonight waiting outside posto for over 1 hour to collect food. Was supposed to collect delivery at 6.30pm and we got it at 8pm. Understandable there was an oven issue but there was no apology given, and food was cold n we had to reheat at home before eating which is bot what you are expected to do for a takeaway. (Our journey from pick up was 30mins but that still doesnt mean that the food would be ice cold). Extremely disappointed in the service. Just wasnt worth it specially on nye waiting in the cold for over an hour. Never again and definitely wont be recommending to family n friends based on our experience.

Very poor in portion and packaging. We ordered mutton curry but ended up getting tiny pieces. The dish is nowhere close to the money spent.

Authentic authentic authentic!!! Those who crave authentic Bengali food from West Bengal, Kolkata (aka Calcutta) MUST try the excellent dishes. Not modified and moderated to suit palates outside India, the dishes are an introduction to some and memory to some others of food from Kolkata. Bengalis in India are also called Foodies. You can always specify changes of moderation— less spicy, less oily and the restaurant obliges.Authentic Bengali fish dishes the trademark of Bengali food served well along with lamb, chicken and daal dishes. If you want authenticity, v few outside india can compare with Posto. My review is based on a delivery due to Lockdown restrictions in place in London

Fantastic mouth-watering food. Called ahead and spoke to manager Damil as my just-eat order was not placed until 1pm. Damil was very kind to start the process with the chef even before the order appeared on the system. It took only 25 minutes to prepare the parcel. Mutton Kosha and Mutton Biryani were superb, so as the Fish Kalia and Mustard Fish. As it was my wife's birthday, they gave complementary rosogollas which were delicious. Overall I recommend to all those looking for authentic Bengali cuisine.

Firstly I don't understand how can people even like this place. Such a shady looking, sad restaurant with no infrastructure. We were in London from Preston and someone told us to try the food...Oh lord...why? Why on earth did you send me here...its a SHAME On Bengali food. The starters are just about manageable...but the main course...by the time i was served i was thinking does the CHEF know how to cook? Then I realised its some middle aged Bengali Women who gave us her sob story of leaving work and this was her passion. Is this your passion? Really? Why did you even start cooking...my husband is English and he's been eating Bengali food cooked by me. Finally he said he just didnt understand what he ate. Probably the neighbourhood Ben would cook a better meal, seeing recipe book. Kid you not, the food was bad. Dirty Cutlery

Was recommended to visit. Showed up at 1 pm for lunch and got 4 main dishes, 2 starters and a daal. Excellent Lamb (kosha mangsho) Fish (Rohu, an Indian fish), Kathaal Kalia, Lucknowi Shami Kabab. The daal was very nice, despite the time pressure 7-9 dishes were prepared and packed in 40 minutes. We had a great lunch, recommended by Bengali friends and will visit again. One of the most authentic Bengali restaurants outside Kolkata like Mustard in Singapore and O Calcutta in Delhi. Highly recommend it if you know and relish Bengali food, I shall risk saying that any negative reviews may come from those without a Bengali palate.

Back for its 2nd innings after Covid stopped play Posto serves up a mix slightly westernized Indian street food and eastern takes on western ingredients. We enjoyed a beetroot bhaji and double egg roll, that would make a wonderful all day breakfast and followed it up with a mix and match mutton and chicken curry duo. Plenty of beer on draft and plenty of PPE and social distancing. What's not to like,? When this venture first breathed life into a tired tandoori, it became a new dining normal. Now in a more nervous world Posto is a small slice of the old normal and very much welcomed for it.

I would not recommend this restaurant. The food was served cold and when requested for the food to be warmed they took the food away and brought it back cold again. Like fobbing off food. waitresses were rude and didnt want to listen to any inconvenience we weere facing. Too congetsed and waitresss was walking with tray over our head at times we feared she will drop others food tray on our head. No concern about customer satisfaction or apology. Extremely dissappointed

Had dinner with the family. Very disappointed overall. The starters were OK but the mains were basic. Avoid the Biryani. It was just a twist to the Pilau rice with the addition of an egg & a couple of pieces of chicken & cost a lot more. The restaurant itself didn’t look very tidy & the glasses in particular were dirty. We had to ask for our glasses to be changed a couple of times as they had marks etc. The glasses that were removed from our table which we clearly pointed out why we were asking for new ones were simply returned to where the supposedly clean glasses were left & not taken inside to be washed. The staff appear to be new & not familiar with the menu or the language, Overall a disappointing experience,

I recently been in posto & tried few their dishes & I would say postos some items in the menu sounds sooo nice which reminds you in Kolkata nostalgic begali dishes but in reality is totally different tasteless especially KATI roll items are taste like ready made frozen basi Poroto brought from supermarket then microwaved & put cheap paneer inside nothing taste like Kolkata fresh handmade egg rolls.Aloor dum taste like Basi alur dum kept in fridge & warm in microwave.All food served on Cold plates which I am surprisedIlish & Rui fish curry not at all taste similer like Kolkatar sorse ilish or Rui macher jhol. Bangladeshi's restaurant Macher dish items are much better taste than posto's fish dishesHowever I quite like vegetable chop which has beetroot inside Nolen gurer misti item taste weird it reminds me eating Sinni at Puja pandal not at all all taste Nolen Gur I don't know why they called their item Noler Gurer mistiPosto's price is expensive & portion is small which is overpriced in outskirts area compare to London zone1 area

Best Bengali food I have tasted in UK. Fish Cutlet, Kathal Kaliya and Kosha Mangsho is a must try . We drove an hour from South London to have dinner here. It was well worth it. Please note the food is authentic and not what you get at your local takeaways.

Went for a lunch recently. We ordered Egg Chicken roll, Kolkata Fish kaalia, Pilau rice and Kopperberg mixed fruit for the drink.However, Kolkata Fish kaalia was our first try, we haven't ate it before but it was delicious I must say. Staff and service were good. We liked the location and interior too.By the end of the meal we were planning our next visit.

This is my wonderful experience of eating out. Right now, as recalling the fried rice I've eaten, my mouth couldn’t stop swallowing saliva. It was so damn delicious! I enjoyed the tasty fried rice with my wife.Before the food arrived, I was like “dam hungry”. But the moment the food touched my tongue, my eyes were wide open. Damn! The hot food, the just enough salty and the SPICY (I'm a spicy dude tho). The cool and breezy atmosphere and the hot and tasty food, gave us heavenly feeling.I swear it is the most delicious fried rice I have ever eaten.Friendly and professional service, authentic Indian food and lovely ambiance.All the best guys!

Went for dinner with my sister. We loved our Chili Garlic Paneer as the starter, which was amazing, we had asked to make it bit spicy and it was the same as per our taste.We had Tadka Daal and plain rice as our mains, with Poppadom to accompany. It was amazingly fresh and authentic.Overall, food was tasty, staff is friendly and the service were also nice. We enjoyed our dinner. Impressive at first visit.

Pritha's passion and love for food is reflected in her creations. Pritha and Posto continue to fly the flag for Bengali cuisine in London and the South East. Pritha's cooking has that authentic Bengali touch - I have travelled hours (literally) for her Muri Ghonto. And her Chilli Chicken and Fried rice reminds me of Kolkata. The Biyani and Chicken Chaanp is soo good we will always recommend Pritha and Posto. Wish this passionate enterprise the very best of luck

I had a bad experience about Posto, yet dared going there. Alas! it was equally bad. The food served was cold, and the lady Mukherjee blatantly said, well it isnt heated well in Microwave! Seriously...is that a restaurant. The ambience is just about ok..shabby and boring to say the least. The food tasted terrible. A simple dish like Matar Paneer didn't have any taste. Same goes for the Peas Luchi - it was flat, with lots of oil and no taste. The Vegetable Chop was yuck! Its a shame on Bengali Food and all those who say its good, I cant comment what kind of food they have at home. I dont recommend it and please don't waste money in such bad quality tasteless food served without love. And let me warn you - They aren't cheap.

I know we should support our local businesses and we went with great expectations to taste some authentic bengali food. We were so so disappointed!We really tried to like the food, but in the very first course itself - cholar dal (chana dal) and puris, my husband discovered a hair in the portion on his plate. And we just lost interest after that. We called the attendant and showed it other, but all we got was a 'sorry'. We still tasted the lamb (i think it was mutton) curry, but it was leathery and felt like it had been cooked 3-4 days ago! I even went to the toilet, which is one of the most sad restaurant toilets I've ever visited in London! Old, tired looking and rusty porcelain and no toilet paper! If the owner is charging £8-£9 for a main dish, the infrastructure needs to better and more importantly the food needs to taste good. I don't know who the people are on this site that are giving this place such good reviews. Last thing to call out: This place has a Food Hygiene Rating of 2 ! Go figure!

Posto catered lunch for BNI meeting before the lock down, it was authentic food. Pritha, the owner is very attentive with great passion of cooking and experimenting. As a veterinarian (fussy one), they had bought a great selection. I will definitely be going to Posto as soon as the lock down is lifted.

I have tried a wide variety of Indian dishes at Posto and one word for it is fantastic!All dishes have a fresh and subtle taste attributed to each it's own, amazed to see how Pritha, the owner has managed to bring all the authentic flavours to satiate your palate which will suit both indians n others.I am very fond of the Peas kachori , mutton kosha, all fish starters and the Rolls- btw the fish paturi is to die for !!! The brunch meals are like a self indulgent treat to a food lover :) If you are in and around London, it's a must visit and highly recommended place.

I love Bengali food and this is one of the restaurants I like the most in London. Authentic food, tasty and delicious. It's a small and cosy place. We has quite few dishes. Probably would need to update their playlist😁 !

Extremely pathetic food and overpriced. This restaurant tops my NEVER EVER LIST. All the food was tasteless the naan was half cooked and no stuffing in matar kachori. The quantity was also very less, not sufficient even for 1 person. Even a lay man with no cooking experience can cook better than them!!! Eeewwww food. Threw the entire order in bin.

I was there over the last weekend and tried a whole range of dishes - everything and EVERYTHING was the best that I have tasted. Hugely recommend the Kolkata Biryani, Kosha Mangsho, Chingri Malaikari and vegetable chop. Worth every penny, and true to its Bengali roots, this one is not to be missed!

Clean, warm and cosy restaurant which instantly makes you feel welcome. Great service offered by cheerful staff who serve with genuine smiles on their faces. And the food? Simply awesome!! Almost every weekend I try new restaurants in my quest for authentic Indian food and I must say I there just aren't many places that offer better for your taste buds. Perhaps the closest you can get in the UK to those mouth-watering West-Bengali flavours that I have been missing so much, for so long in this country. Very strongly recommended for folks on the lookout for true Indian food in general and (West) Bengali flavours in particular

We ordered takeaway. After reading some excellent reviews and craving some biriyani and fish paturi for ages, we decided to take the plunge and treat our guests from Kolkata to some bengali food in London though it's almost an hour drive from where we are in West Hampstead - a stupid idea indeed! We ordered Kolkata Mutton Biriyani, Kosha mangsho, Kanthal kalia, narkeli cholar daal, fish paturi, egg posto, shorshe fish curry, bengali fish curry, rosogolla and malpua. The biriyani was no where close to the Kolkata Biriyani I am used to having...had a strange sour taste. The posto in the egg posto was watery and bitter, the cholar daal was runny, the shorshe in the fish curry was bitter and tasteless. The malpua was good, the kosha nangsho was palatable. We were embarrassed to serve such poor quality food that had nothing bengali about it to our guests. Definitely not worth the hype. I'm making some biryani at home today to salvage my taste buds!

We had an upset stomach after having food from this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon and we really do regret not having checked the " 2 " rating on the Official Web Site of the UK Food Standards Agency before ordering any food. It is quite evident that the food is NOT prepared fresh. Most of the sauces / jhol are pre-cooked and taste like any cheap biye / wedding catering style food. The shorshey in "deem / egg shorshey" was quite bitter since it was overcooked. The narkeli cholar dall was diluted heavily with water. The Kolkata style biriyani had pieces of meat and half a potato which were both tough and stale. The fish paturi had tiny portions and completely lacked any flavour. The Roshogollas in Roshogolla Payesh are the size of small shondesh and the Malpua is served with condensed milk, which is claimed to be Rabri. The experience at Posto was a huge disappointment.

Good food overall, there weren’t as many Bengali dishes as we’d thought. Starters could have been bigger portions for the price charged. Good assortment of vegetarian options, lovely atmosphere and really enjoyed the way the restaurant was decorated.

We drove down from Leeds for a theatre weekend in London and decided to go to Posto for lunch having heard such great reviews of it being authentic bengali cuisine. We tried several dishes and the best were Kolkata mutton Biriyani- lamb was very soft and I must say it was the closest to Kolkata biriyani we have had in this country. Veg chop and egg Posto were pretty good too.Malpoa with rabri was delicious.As a positive feedback few changes need to be made.Please don’t serve G&T in glasses for water. Staff need to put in more personal touch in their service. Please make sure cutlery is clean and dishes not chipped.Prawn malaikari needs to be less sweet and would have tasted better without the punjabi Garam masala. Wasn’t authentic at all.Fish fry had thin slice of Pangasius and too thick a coating which was not for my palate.Peas kachori with hing (asafoetida) !!! not Bengali at all. I hope you can improvise and wish you all success Posto.

We were recommended this restaurant and it lived up to our expectations. Very good and very authentic food. No oil bases and runny gravies; just tasty food with lovely spices. We would definitely come again.

I visited Posto with friends and family all the way from Swindon as I heard that Posto served some Bengali food. The visit was a waste. They served stale, uncooked and cold food. It felt as if they just heated stale food in microwave and served to us. Very very disappointed. Definitely and big No No to this place.

We held a XMas party in Posto with friends. Both Pritha and Anirban are delightful hosts. They were very flexible with catering for kids and allergies. Due to being XMas day there were time limitations in terms of closing the kitchen etc. but they made sure we get enough time to do the activities we had planned for in between the food servings.They didn't interfere with what we can or can't do in terms of playing the music etc. and as it was a party with kids too, they didn't complain of a single thing. My review is mainly from a party perspective. If I have to plan another party there I won't hesitate from planning one again.

We booked the restaurant for a private work social event, and it was a fantastic night. Great food, very friendly place, comfortable and welcoming. In fact, the food was absolutely amazing, real Kolkata food, and it is really well presented too. I highly recommend coming here, maybe for a friendly lunch and a chat, to hang out with friends, or just read quietly with some delicious treats (they have a bookcase, so you can find something to browse through). Lovely place, great food, very good value too! I'll be coming again.

For many of us Bong ladies who have been cooking for over two decades, we can exactly tell the quintessential elements of a superbly prepared Bong meal and I can vouch that Posto definitely meets that standard and even more. When we think about relishing bengali food outside home Aheli, 6 Ballygung place, Kewpie's, Bhojohori manna are few of the names that pop up in our head, Posto is in the same league except delivering the same outstanding service overseas in London. Other than the best ingredients in the right measure good cooking needs oodles of love and care and Pritha definitely adds this element in good measure to her cooking hence the taste of Ma, thakumar ranna is evident in Posto's cooking ...sholoana bangaliana.

Came here with 35 workmates and had an amazing evening. Delicious food in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The drinks were excellent too. Pritha, the owner, is a wonderful hostess. Will definitely be coming back.

We can never get enough of Posto. The restaurant catered my son's 4th birthday party, they were not only very reasonable but very professional as well. We had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is conveniently located and they offer the best of Bengali cuisine.

last night we had party for our parents and invited approx 60 guests. It was a fabulous experience..food was awesome and service was excellent.we had sit down meal for all the guests and each one of our guests felt that food was of very good standard and service was excellent as well. Pritha owner of the restaurant went extra mile to make sure kids were happy as well.

Awesomely delicious vegetarian food, kids friendly staff, superb table service, quite accommodating manager and staff, authentic Kolkata Indian Cuisine, must try Veg Chops, Baingan Bharta!!!

Only sit down restaurant in North london which serves Bengali food. Good quality and authentic. Fish fry reminds me of Kolkata.

We took catering service from Posto for a party of 100 people. Pritha and her team are absolutely delightful people to work with. Their hospitality was amazing and went way beyond their call of duty to cater to everyone's requests. The food was top quality and got complements from almost all the guests in the party. They were also very helpful in clearing up the call and packing the excess food so that there was minimal food wastage. Highly recommended for both the food and the service they provided.

Went here last weekend after reading the reviews and wanting to try somewhere new.Posto didn't disappoint, its a fairly small restaurant so i would advise booking.The staff were very friendly and attentive, the flavours were clean and fresh and i can safely say its the best indian restaurant i have been to in many years and i will be returning !Thank you for a great meal !

I had fairly high expectations from this place as I have heard so much about it. I have to admit that even then, Posto delivered above and beyond. Very authentic flavours from Kolkata, brought alive at this cozy little restaurant with excellent service.

We visited Posto on Saturday afternoon after hearing a lot of good things about it from friends and it definitely lived up to the expectations. The food is authentic Kolkata Bengali cusine unlike the common Bangladeshi cusine served in restaurants in UK. The menu had variety and reflected the modern urban Bengali cusine. The authentic Bengali fare of the Kosha Manghso, the Fish Kalia and the Kathal Kalia was excellent. The street food favourites of the Egg Chicken roll and Chili Chicken was brilliant. It was refreshingly different and original in taste from the usual Indian restaurant experience. The service was also exceptional, we got the special attention from the staff as it was not very busy at that time of the day. To top it all the suggestions on the days special desert, Patisapta and Malpua was superb. We are definitely a fan now. If you are a fan of Indian food it is definitely worth a visit to sample some authentic flavours from India.

I visited Posto twice in the last week. I love the homely welcoming environment. As a photographer, I loved seeing the street photography on the wall, there were some interesting shots which really captured my attention. Pritha, the host, the owner was lovely, she is really warm and friendly, and you can really see her passion for creating a fantastic experience for you. Let's come to the food, it is different to every other Indian restaurant in the area, and you definitely need to come and try it. I loved it and highly recommend it.
