Such nice restaurant, especially their kosha mangsho. My Caribbean friend loved it so much. I used to drive all the way there only to eat in this restaurant. It is so sad that it closed down.

I had rated Posto 5-star an year back. But changing my rating now based on a poor experience last week. We had taken out 4 Kolkata biriyanis, as we thought it was very authentic based on past experiences. But this time the recipe had changed completely. It was a complete Hyderabadi style, where taste was a disaster. That was not at all the Kolkata biriyani as the name suggested! We were thoroughly disappointed because of our high expectations, on the back of a £50+ bill :(((

A hidden gem in Harrow, close to Rayners Lane Underground station. One of the best restaurants serving bengali cuisines in London. I ordered Koraishutir Kochuri, Fish Fry and Mutton Biryani. 1 portion of Kochuri comes with 2 pieces of kochuris and Alur Dom. Alur dom was a little too "tomato-ey" for my taste and the kochuris were 2-D, not 3-D 😂. 1 portion of Fish fry comes with 2 pieces of Sea Bass fish, Kasundi and salad. While the fish was good, I found the Kasundi to be watery, i.e. diluted to reduce the strong mustardy flavour which was a big letdown for me. Mutton Biryani comes with 2 pieces of mutton (with bone), a potato, an egg, raita and salad. Overall, the food is good, but there is still room for improvement. Price is a bit on the higher side for the portion served. I would still recommend, specially my Bong friends in London to give this place a try.

Heard they served the best Biriyani in London and planned to eat here but was sadly very disappointed when I got to. The Biriyani was too dry and there was a egg shell in the rice too. Not enough meat in the Biriyani either. Overpriced as well. If the food was extremely good I wouldn’t be complaining.

We waited for 2 hours to get a table when the booking was confirmed, and then an additional 1 hour for food.. The pain continues.. as we were provided with food with no cutlery and then we were asked would you take main course before the starter (the basic skill was missing). The plates that were provided were untidy with hair in it. We had the worst Biriyani a Bengali can have and the food was quite pricey. If you cannot cater a large customer please hire some people or get a management skill.

Being a typical bong foodie we visited this restaurant with lots of expectation. The food was overall good but the other part of us were comparing every dish with its authentic taste, so from that perspective it was missing a bit. We tried many dishes- liked fish fry the most. Then the drinks- aam panna, nimbu pani, lassi. Fish Paturi with plain rice and Kokata Mutton Biriyani with mutton Kosha we’re also nice. I would like mustard seeds in the paturi to be a more smoother paste but it tasted good. Kolkata Mutton Biriyani was not as good as Kolkata Biriyani but still okay. It was going well with mutton kosha. Did not like the veg curry that comes with peas puri, it was too tangy. The service person was nice and rightly recommended us dishes to avoid and take. I guess we’ll go back again for the fish fry and Biriyani.

It’s a good place to have some Bengali food. I went from a far to meet my craving of my own cuisine. The owner & all the stuffs were really good. Quality & taste was also good 👍. Aam panna mojito” was the best item we taste. Highly recommended to taste once. But I should definitely say that there is definite scope for enhancing the taste of food to make it more authentic. We will expect better quality in terms of authenticity of food in the next time.

Travelled from East London in search of the Bengali/Calcutta food I grew up with, and this did not disappoint! The mustard rohu was excellent, as were all the other dishes we ordered. So pleased they served proper kasundi with the cutlets and chops. And I was delighted to see Malpua with rabdi on the menu - my favourite dessert and impossible to find elsewhere in London. Very friendly service and close to the tube to make travel easy.

I was disappointed by my experience of dining at Posto. I spent my formative years in West Bengal and relief authentic vegetarian Bengali food. All the dishes tasted a bit old and tangy and did not seem fresh at all including dal, aloo Posto and even the rasgullah payesh. Chilli paneer also didn’t fresh paneer, not cooked well and the preparation had too much sauce on it. Travelled over an hour to eat there and returned disappointed.

Sad to report that the food we sampled recently was very poor. We ordered a chicken lollipop, steamed rice, tadka daal, aloo Posto and fish kalia. The chicken lollipop was over-fried to the point of being inedible, the tadka daal tasted and looked like daal that had been in the fridge and subsequently heated up inadequately as it was lumpy and did not seem to have any tempered spices for flavour. In fact ‘tadka’ or ‘tarka’ in Bengal is an entirely different type of daal as far as I know that is sometimes cooked with egg or meat, but this may have been a North Indian take on it. The aloo Posto was about the only item that was moderately acceptable. However most bengali households would most likely be able to knock up a better tasting version of this. The rohu fish in the kalia had no taste at all and it tasted like it the fish had been quickly combined with a separate onion rich sauce. I feel sad that this establishment has gone downhill since we first tried the place when it opened. Our first couple of visits went very well but since then we have visited or taken away food on multiple occasions and every time it has been well below expected standards. I do not know if this particular trip was an unfortunate one off but we feel short changed by our recent trips where the food has more often than not been extremely poor.

And last but not the least, the fingerlicking delicious butter chicken which is described by my 12 yr old son as the besttttttt butter chicken in the whole wide world. There is a sense of nostalgia that kicks in at different points in the year and that's where I think this place becomes a go-to, irrespective of a very low value for money experience. They get some of the dishes right - but the portion size isn't great and the service is quite amateurish. The restaurant itself is quite claustrophobic so I've always preferred to sit outside. Both the items replaced were of lower price and the price benefit wasn't passed on to!! 2. Another occasion, asked for Rohu Fish Kalia, was given Kalia with white fish. 3. And again Pritha Mukherjee did her magic with her culinary skill. Just wanted to shout out to TEAM POSTO and say a very big THANK YOU. Pritha and your whole team at Posto really excelled yourselves last Sunday. Thank you for making me feel so special and for helping to make my 50th birthday celebration (with family and close family friends) a memorable day for Sujoya, me and the entire gathering. We all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly - the food was excellent (as always), the menu superb (everyone loved every item) and your staff were so friendly and attentive. Thanks for working with me to plan a menu that included all my favourite items. The pappadom and chutneys as a start was a lovely touch from you. The starters of fish fry, chilli chicken and peas kachuri / aloor dum were all great hits with the guests. This was followed by mains of Daal makhani, baingan bahar, paneer kofta curry, with basanti pulao and a selection of breads as well as the twin piece de resistance items: chingri machher malai curry and kosha mangsho. Each item was delicious and plentiful, replenished whenever we asked for top ups. The meat was soft and tender and falling off the bone, the prawns were of a great size, cooked to perfection. The paneer koftas were perfect - tender and moist. The vegetarian items (for our one vegetarian guest) were also delicious, with special mention being made of the beetroot chops and kathal kalia, both delicious and divine. Finally, I must mention the shimayer payesh (vermicelli pudding) - our dessert. The payesh was delicious - creamy, tasty, with just the right amount of sweetness and refreshingly chilled. And as you know a Bengali birthday is never complete without payesh - and yours was simply superb! Each of the guests have personally commented on how much they enjoyed the delicious food, the wonderful ambience and the friendly service from the staff. A huge thanks to Vikram and the entire team for everything they did. Here’s wishing Posto all the very best as you scale even greater heights and grow from strength to strength.

No refund was given and even she stopped responding to my messages. It's is sad and unacceptable as I had known Pritha from the days when she provided takeaway service and was very happy to know that she now owns a Bengali resturant. The menu has some Kolkata specialities like chilly chicken dry, peas kochuri with aloor dom, fish fry etc. The prices are reasonable and the taste is good as well. Improvement area: 1. Staff were very friendly and tables are relatively clean and decor looks nice, however the food is just about average. A little too oily for my liking, personally, and a little bland.

I normally don't write review often. We had food here several times and I think POSTO deserves one. Lip smacking authentic Bengali to fusion, all are offered to satisfy your tastebuds. If Pritha di is in the kitchen, it's a bonus with her personal touch. POSTO will fill your tummy with yummy food and your heart with their warmth.

Very cordial staff but the food was very average. Specially biriyani was a big let down but at the same time I enjoyed the chicken chap and some other dishes which were quite decent.

I am from Kolkata and knows the flavour of Kolkata style chicken biryani quite well. I didn't find the taste even close to Kolkata biryani even though the look was similar. Potato and egg are the USP in Kolkata biryani. A little disappointed as the egg was missing.

The experience at Posto was fantastic and I would really recommend Pritha and her team for all occasions. I did order the Kolkata Mutton Biryani which actually transported me to Kolkata and was a real nostalgic experience. Well done Posto! You have really lived upto...

Excellent food. We were four of us and we had a blast. We tried the jackfruit and potato dish and Dal. The jackfruit was top notch. The Dal was pretty decent but nothing extraordinary. We had the fish cutlets (brilliant), beetroot cutlets (just like the ones we got on Indian railways in the 80s), and the chicken tikka (nothing to write home about). For mains we had the rohu fish curry which was out of this world, the lamb which was excellent, and the chicken biryani (decent). And at last we tried one piece of three desserts: sondesh (very nice), raj bhog (lovely), and chamcham ( which was the best). They struggled with the service a bit because it was packed but a superb night out because of the friendly staff, top notch food, and a bit of nostalgia. I will return.

Excellent food. We were a mix of veg and non-veg food goers and all of us enjoyed the food. On veg side the veg chops, paneer, kunthal sabzi, bharwali baingan and biryani were really good. The daal was on sweeter side...but overall great food n service.

Food was good. Service ok. Coconut chsna dal was very sweet. Did not like it. Peas kachaouri for the price & quantity is expensive. They should serve 3 in a plate. Also, have the provision to serve Kachouris by itself as a piece. If I need 1 extra, i would want to have one & not the whole portion again & pay so much. Veg beetroot chops were good but highly overpriced !! Cocktails - there was hardly any alcohol. Single old monk rum is overpriced. All in all, food is good. Alcohol/ cocktails not so sure. Pricing of some items are high & needs a re- look. But worth a try.

Easily the best Indian in Harrow. Ordered the ‘Flavours of India’ - 3 x curries (choice of meat/veg), 2 x sides, rice, naan, popadums + condiments. Sounds like a lot but each was perfectly portioned and for £12 all in very reasonably priced to boot. I’m not exactly a curry connoisseur could immediately tell the food quality was a cut above the rest (even after having been driven to my house by the UberEats bloke). Having tried a couple of different places in Harrow since moving here a few months ago, this is definitely now my go-to.

Well, this restaurant might have been opened by a Bengali chef sometime ago but it is DEFINITELY NO LONGER owned or maintained by any Bengali cook or management. Please BEWARE! When I went for a takeout I didn't see any Bengali people around. They were all Punjabi either from India or from Pakistan side. I do like em all but I have to say who they were for the sake of transparency. Now coming to the food quality and cuisine. I tried 8 dishes randomly from the menu including Biriyani and Fish dishes. These were Punjabi style, desperately trying to make-over like Bengali dishes but UNFORTUNATELY not even close! I would not say that food were bad or tasteless as some of others but they were definitely NOT BENGALI CUISINE. YOU CAN TAKEOVER/BUY A BENGALI RESUTURANT FROM A BENGALI BUT YOU CAN'T TAKEOVER BENGALI TASTE FROM ALL BENGALIs! - who said that? Well, it's me.

Amazing food with authentic Bengali taste. We ordered a variety of dishes, all of which were fantastic. The staff were lovely and were very accommodating to us even though we arrived quite late. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for typical Kolkata cuisine (felt like we were back home). It would be great if another branch opened up in the north of England.

Mixed feelings.....table and menu were dirty/sticky, popodoms were stale and there was a mix up in the order. However, this place does the best butter chicken I've ever had outside of India.

Visited the place for the second time after the pandemic. Authentic taste of the Bengali cuisines, cannot comment on the full menu as I haven't tried other dishes. Lovely host and amazing taste. Only losing a star as I think the portion sizes can be a bit better for the price. Highly recommended if you are looking for original and authentic Bengali flavours.

The food was very oily and lacked seasoning or flavour. Regrettably the high levels of oil content is a big no for me. Not the usual standard.

Great food and very tasty. Staff very friendly. One of my regular haunts. My go to for Indian food. They do a £18.95 banquet night on a Tuesday.

It’s a shame could’ve been good… wanted it to be good, but… ordered Lamb Rogan Josh, it was mostly gravy and only about 6 pieces of lamb. Was also a bit on the salty side. Was hungry so, I ate it and could taste the potential but ultimately it failed. That said my partner loved her Chicken Tika Masala. So like I said, all could have been good but only some was. Will I order from there again? Hmmm… not sure tbh. Possibly, but nothing with lamb in it, cos they are obviously skimping on costs.
