Love Raj Kinara. We came here for our anniversary in May in the restaurant and then came back to have takeaway in August. It's stunning food, great service, staff are great. Tikka masala is so creamy and tasty! One of the best places around. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back!

Amazing the staff were very friendly, the food was amazing best Indian meal we have had n the last 2 years, will certainly be going again.

Been coming here for about 5 years as parents have a caravan here. The food has always been outstanding, this is still the case, however, service is appalling. Had to flag down a member of staff to place drinks orders, he disappeared before we could place food order. When the drinks arrived he said he would get another member of staff to take food order. This took another 10 minutes. The starters were literally thrown on the table before the waiter ran off again. We waited an hour for the main meal. Nobody came to ask us if we wanted to order more drinks. Not once during the whole evening. The service used to be amazing. All the staff look rushed and run everywhere. But they don't seem to get anything done. There is no attentiveness, no customer care, which is a shame as it ruins the experience.

Great Indian onsite at Fontygarty leisure park. Took us just a couple of mins to walk there from our camper van. Views from outside were incredible, food was amazing, service not so good but overall we would happily go back

I usually don’t like to complain especially considering I love this restaurant and the food and service are always amazing but tonight I came with a friend who has a severe tolerance to gluten. We had checked to menu before arriving but it had said they haven’t gluten free options online and most Indian restaurants do. When arriving and ordering we realized this wasn’t true. We ordered drinks my friend requested the gluten free menu and she was told that when she makes her order he will tell her if it’s gluten free or not which is very strange anyway as why couldn’t your just tell her before so she didn’t get her hopes up about something she may not have been able to have. Anyway when they came back to the table we ordered food and then the man spoke on the headset and another man came over and explained that they couldn’t guarantee it was gluten free as the food is all cooked together and so there could be traces of gluten in it. They were very nice about it but this really isn’t good enough as we’d already ordered at this point and my friend couldn’t then eat with us! This was my birthday meal and has really upset me as we should have all been eating together but unfortunately she had to go hungry. I’m writing this not to talk bad about the restaurant as like I said I really do love this place but just to suggest that you should either make a gluten free menu or at least not advertise something you don’t have so you don’t upset future customers.

A really superb Indian restaurant. We use it quite often, always make you welcome with superb fast service. Food is made to order and comes out fast Its like a well oil machine with great seaside views

We went New Year’s Eve, and the food and service was out of this world, waiter could not do enough for 1st class service as always.

Food was amazing but the waiter we had was terrible. He had an attitude straight after he bought out wrong starter. Trying to tell me that a chicken pakora I ordered was the onion Bhaji that I was brought. Telling me the chicken was smashed. The fact there was no chicken in it and the menu clearly shows this was not what I ordered he continued to lie to me. Then the cokes were flat and he tried to blame us for that and wouldn’t get replacements we had to order something else. Not sure how he thought we could make coke flat from it going from the bar to the table but ok. It’s a shame because the food was really nice. Will ask for a different waiter if we ever come back. Absolutely the most best curry I have ever had. The lamb was so tender, it was delicious 😋 Lovely, helpful staff and great ambience. Definitely a win win

From booking to leaving, the service we were given from all the staff here was among the best I have ever received. We celebrated my Dad's special birthday as a group of 7. They were so helpful with my relative, who is severely disabled in a wheelchair and nothing was too much trouble. Also, the restaurant was spotlessly clean with a lovely ambience. The food was of high quality, cooked to perfection and plenty of it. We will definitely return and strongly recommend.

We arrived at our B &B on a Sunday evening when most of the local pubs and restaurants were shut. Fortunately, we were able to book a table at Raj Kinara which is located incongruously in the middle of a caravan park. The restaurant is beautifully situated, looking out over the Bristol Channel and is a welcoming place with comfortable seating and great views. The service was impeccable - my 12 year old grandson couldn’t believe the speed with which his lemonade and our beers appeared. The food was very good and James finished every scrap of his Butter Chicken. My son and I both had tender lamb dishes accompanied by naan breads. Altogether an excellent experience. We would certainly be back if we lived closer.

This was a great takeaway. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and good portion sizes. The Indian was really enjoyable. The prices were reasonable. Will call again.

Visited here last evening, with 3 friends, to celebrate my retirement. Food was delicious, plentiful, arrived piping hot, and arrived promptly. Would recommend and will be revisiting

We ordered a takeaway which came to £41.50 however when we got home and checked they took out £47.60 We eat here when staying at the park,they have done this before lime adding a beer when we didn't have a beer so be careful Great food stunning but check your bill if eating inside and your card payment before leaving Disappointed

Went for my 11th birthday, really nice service and very kind employees. Even got extra chocolate because of my birthday! And I just LOVE the choice of decor! Loved the Chicken Tikka, absolutely perfect cooking! The food is absolutely amazing too, some personal favourites are the Pilau Rice, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Garlic Mushrooms!

Fantastic food and lovely service! Cannot wait to go back. It was the tastiest curry we have ever tasted and prices were brilliant for the quality.

Came here on a very busy Saturday night, the staff and food was superb. Staff went above and beyond considering how busy it was. The food was excellent, hot, tasty and fresh! Can’t wait to come back here soon.

Hadn’t been to the Raj Kinara for a while. Saw some recent bad reviews and wondered what it was going to be like. I needn’t have worried. Fab food, fab service. This was despite it being a very busy Friday night, with the restaurant pretty much full. For me still one of the best curry houses in South Wales.

Ordered a large order of £120 for takeaway and we’re told it would be an hour to collect. Arrived just within the hour we were told to and had to wait a further 30 minutes until our collection was ready - at least 15 takeaways...

Just moved to the area from Barry and been using the same takeaway for 18 years so was reluctant to try.Ordered a big takeaway for the family and went to collect.The place looked amazing and atmosphere was buzzing. A warm welcome from the staff who were very friendly.The food was brilliant Lamb was melt in the mouth and all dishes were full of flavour! Really glad we tried it and will be going back a lot !Thanks guys.Alex

DISGUSTING attitude towards customers. During the pandemic we know how important it is to book in advance. I walked into an EMPTY restaurant at 7.30pm and requested a booking at 10pm that evening and was told no problem although no details were taken. When we arrived we were told we couldn’t have a table because we hadn’t booked! Instead of apologising the manger called me a LIAR and even said he checked the cctv although he didn’t leave the bar area. He was extremely RUDE. A take away was perfectly sufficient for us as we were staying on the campsite and an APOLOGY would have gone a long way. Such a shame.

Visited to pick up a takeaway. The restaurant was packed as on my previous visits before lockdown. I sat and observed the COVID security. Worrying !!! Tables were NOT 2 metres apart. Men were 6 side by side at the bar. Temperatures were taken for people eating in but NOT for takeaway customers who still enter the building and sit and wait to be served with their takeaway. This was observed when the UK R rate is between 1 and 1.2 and areas in Wales are in local lockdown. This account has been verified by 1 other person. Tighten up Raj Kinara. Block off every other table. Total lockdown will be VERY unpleasant if it returns?!?!?!?!?

Before being showed to our table we had a temperature taken and contact details which was a first in wales despite going to many vars and restaurants. The food was lovely and staff friendly and hard working. Recommend

Ate here during our stay on the Fontygary site. The food at this restaurant is amazing, as always. The only down side is the time you wait to be served, really frustrating waiting an hour before your order is taken, the food is so good, perhaps I'll stick to a takeaway next time.

Myself and family visited here while on a mini break. Booked for 7pm but turn up early and say us down. There was about 5/6 tables in already and loads of people waiting for takeaway or collections. We waited over 30mins before even get ask what would like for drinks. Then waited another 30mins before over drinks reached the table and try to give us the wrong drinks. Then had to wait another 30mins before taking our order for food. There was one waiter who was doing all the work and two others just walking around doing absolutely nothing. The two other waiters where taking orders and not even putting them through. Food finally arrived was absolutely delicious and looked amazing which was good point. Unfortunately had to leave as the baby waited to long for her food. Hoping next we visit the service will be better.

The hotel I was staying at down in Cardiff we’re not serving food at present, but kindly recommend the Raj Kinara at Roose. The restaurant was closed but we’re serving takeaway food. I had a great chat with the owner, and I settled for onion barge to start, with chicken dopiaza and mushroom rice. Brought it back to the hotel, and wow, what excellent food, the style is Bangladesh, and without doubt one of the best Indian meals I have had. Next time I’m down this way, hopefully the restaurant will be fully open again, and it will be the first port of call. I cannot speak highly enough of them and also thank the hotel for their recommendation.

It’s been a few years since our last visit and nothing much has changed. Our party of 8 visited on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant wasn’t too busy. The service was very good with helpful happy staff. The food was very good indeed, large portions and priced about right. Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely return very soon.Cheers

Lovely meal. Got there early so service was quick. One of our party was vegan and had a really good meal. Food was tasty with some interesting dishes. It was a Saturday and quickly became very busy, but really good atmosphere.

If ever you want indain food at its finest. This the place to go. We really enjoyed our uplanned meal. I wish i could cook a curry like they do.

Just another great meal at Raj Kinara, never disappoints and the quality of the good is always high. Never rushed always can take as long as required to eat and talk. Order something different everytime and it always is delicious and enough generally for two people. Cant wait to return.

Fair distance away from Cardiff but definitely with the journey for the food. Service could be a bit less robotic but besides that great meal.

We have been visiting this restaurant for many years but the quality of the food and service has gone dreadfully downhill over the last few months. We had a few months of awful food and service and our last visit was back in September. Yesterday (2 months later) we decided to give them another try. BIG MISTAKE !!

Captain Steve and I had twenty four hours in Barry and several people recommended this restaurant which is located by the sea and on a holiday park.

All 4 of us ate all we could, portions are great and the taste just phenomenal! I had the Chicken Bhuna (full of flavour and cooked so well). The staff are really friendly and know how to have fun, great all round place to eat and a great atmosphere. Very alternative comparatively to other Indian restaurants! Much more relaxed and enjoyable!

Was at the caravan park for the weekend and decided to try this Indian Reataurant's Sunday Buffet which was £12.95 per head. Noticed how lovely and clean the place was and tables nicely laid. They had quite a few starters on offer and then for the main courses there were about three meat curried dishes and a vegetarian choice as well. Very well presented, food was good but sadly I thought could have been hotter even though they were in covered containers. Good service and good value and you could eat as much as you liked. I did miss a dessert, I didn't see any on offer. Pleasant staff. I think it was open from 1 to 2pm and it was advisable to book.

Enjoy enjoy.The staff are very attentive and the food is great. We had poppadoms, with sauces, then prawn puri with a peshwari naan and Lamb Tikka Masala. We asked for the mains and starters to be brought out together, due to us not being paricularly big eatears. We really enjoyed the crispy onion bajis, fresh popodoms and the lamb in the tikka was suculant and tasty. The reatuarant was very busy and had a great ambiance even though we noted some aggressive and unreasonable behaviour by some unsavoury customers. Disappointing at 8.30 in the evening when children were present. The staff dealt with the intrusion admirably, quietly and efficiently. Will definetely eat and enjoy here again and again.

The food here is very hit and miss. Yesterday's takeaway was definitely a miss. I ordered a Chicken Jalfrezi which I have ordered dozens of times before from here. It was a very thick curry, very dark in colour and had a very vinegary taste, nothing like a Jalfrezi should be.

Recently moved to the Vale and we have been looking for a good Indian. Saw the good reviews and decided to give the Raj a go. We loved it. It is set on a caravan site, but don’t let that put you off. The restaurant is lovely, staff polite and attentive, and food delicious. Couldn’t fault it. Food came out fresh and piping hot. So tasty. Good price too. Already can’t wait to return.

We visit every few months as the food here is probably the best Indian in the Vale. As a family we all have different tastes but every meal is very good. However, the service is incredibly slow. On this occasion I had to call a waiter over so we could place our order and then, had to wait a further 3/4 of an hour for our food to arrive. This isn't a one off and it's a shame as this is the only thing that lets the restaurant down.

Surprised that we found this great Indian restaurant is on a campsite outside of Rhŵs village. Food was excellent and well worth a visit.

I don't leave bad reviews, but we went for an impromptu family meal with well behaved 3 and 11 year old here a week ago. We arrived when it opened (6pm) hoping for a quick meal and to be home before the kids bed time. It would have been easier if the restaurant had just told us that they don't accommodate children from the outset. Once we were seated it was clear we weren't welcome, and when they realised we weren't going to be buying drinks, the customer service shut down completely. The manager told the waiter to refuse to refill our jug of tap water (we had ordered £70 of food) claiming that there was an issue with the water supply. (Taps in the toilet were working fine). The food was ok, but we couldn't enjoy it as we felt so uncomfortable. Would not recommend.

Plus: several non-obvious dishes. I had a fish subzi; requested hot and it was with raw chillis, but not ridiculous. Attentive, friendly staff. Good value (but not cheap). Nice views and acceptable interior.

A great place to choose for a very nice Indian meal with friends,especially after the Xmas rush. Nice and relaxing. Top class cuisine and service. Very good menus. A good selection of beers and wines. Staff always attentive to your needs.

There are 2 kitchens for takeaways and restaurant.... the restaurant is far better with lovely views if you are lucky enough to sit at the windows. Never had a bad meal here though

Sunday 28/4/19 8 of us went to the Raj for a birthday buffet for our son, no need to book and they sorted a table for us straight away, staff were polite and very friendly. Took our drinks order and told us about the buffet (we knew from before) and away we went. Food was perfect, hot, fresh and amazing, very good choice of starters and chutney, pickles etc, poppadums were lovely and fresh and crisp and warm too. Mains were just superb, including a vegetarian balti which was very tasty. Food was continually being topped up with no shortage of chicken or lamb in the meat dishes, although not the cheapest, the food speaks for itself. Lovely location too, right on top of a small beach and opposite a huge green area of field where we gave the dogs a good run, even found a slow worm,lol. This restaurant can get very busy in season as it is literally just inside the Fontagary leisure caravan park, so even booking may be essential, well worth a visit.
