The best restaurants serving French food in England

Was fortunate enough to experience this wonderful restaurant for a work dinner as part of a team of chefs. The service was impecable, the food and wine were without fault and a pure display of skill and passion for there craft. Without doubt i will be returning, an thankyou for a truly memorable experience!

Since early June, we have been to Les Enfants five times, all under different circumstances and for different reasons. The first was a family meal out with visiting son, daughter-in-law and grandchild. It was an absolutely splendid occasion, and Chef Eric made it his personal business to make extra extra sure that we had a fabulous time. He succeeded beyond anybody's expectations! It was my 8-year-old’s second visit, her first was when she was 18 months old. She was over the moon with her meal and awarded the chef a million zillion stars. This was the summer that grandchild was going to get to stay with grandparents for the best part of the summer. The second visit was scheduled for the three of us a week and ½ into her visit, as a special night out. Instead, a traumatised and exhausted two of us staggered into the restaurant, and I informed the wait staff, who had greeted us warmly, that my husband would not be joining us, as he had that morning broken both bones in his right arm and was still sitting in the A&E waiting room, after being there for hours after the hour or so he was in a more local urgent care facility. We decided that I should go with our kiddo to dinner, and we would touch base once he was either treated or admitted. The staff could not have taken better care of us. They prepared bespoke treats for my little one and brought her apple juice in a fancy glass and kept it topped up. The third time, again it was just two of us…I had returned our grandchild back to her parents at the end of her stay, and finally my husband could come home as soon as I returned from the 48 hour round trip to the states. Weeks later, when he was finally able to go out…this is where we went. We walked into to a warm welcome, and don’t you know, here comes Chef with a broken leg. Mid-September saw us return, this time with a visiting nephew in tow, and once again, great welcome, great service, great food. Chef, needing a time to really properly heal his leg, announced he would be closing up for the season at end of September, so we booked to come have one last great meal before he reopens next season. Really good. Good 1&2 but dessert was pretty poor. Clafouti, crispy top, slathered in cinnamon. No, no, no. Wine very good and good value. Service excellent.

Had lunch here , it was great , so we went a few days later , that was great also , good food simple menu , we will be back

Magnificent little café with garden where we had breakfast during our getaway to Canterbury Everything is perfect, French breads and pastries. The staff is very pleasant and attentive. Thank you for this moment of happiness to start the day off right. We recommend this place. Go ahead and enjoy.

It is a fantastic venue with modern trendy rooms in a stunning location. It also delivers amazing food to tickle your tastebuds. All of the food was excellent from amuse bouches through to dessert. Well worth its Michelin star.

Had a wonderful dinner here with my daughter. Beautiful food and gorgeous wine choice. Loved everything about. The waitress was so lovely and helpful. We will definitely book again soon.

Pretentious and full of posers. Go somewhere else if you want a night of reckless abandon. If you want to hang out with the instagram selfie crowd, this in your vibe.

My favourite restaurant is the Thai Brasserie. My wife introduced me to Thai food. I have been to the Thai Brasserie many times with my wife and our favourites are Papaya Salad, Green Curry, Pad Thai, and Prawn Noodles. This month, we invited my family to the restaurant to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant put together a menu for our party of 14 that came to about £30 a head - which I thought very reasonable. I will definately book another party there.

We wanted a light, fresh lunch with good ingredients and were not disappointed! We sat outside on a suny and warm Saturday afternoon, overlooking Teignmouth harbour. One of us had the salmon salad, the other ths charcuteries - ham, cheese and bread. The salad was very interesting and full of flavour and different ingredients: we then had a dessert which did not disappoint. Service was very cheerful and prompt. Based on this, we would go back again.

the guy who served us (who I think was also the chef and the owner?) was super lovely and seemed to genuinely enjoy his work which makes the experience so much nicer. The food was well priced, was a good portion, and so delicious. We got the beef bourguignon and the bacon cheeseburger and both were cooked perfectly and came out hot with fries and salad. We went on a Tuesday and eventhough it was quiet the ambience was still nice and cute. Perfect for a date night, would definitely recommend and would go back!

The galettes were the best I've eaten in years. All of them are gluten-free too! The crepes were also amazing. It's such an attractive little place, and with the staff apparently all being French you can kind of imagine you're in France - the food is certainly good enough. Highly recommended.
