We wanted a light, fresh lunch with good ingredients and were not disappointed! We sat outside on a suny and warm Saturday afternoon, overlooking Teignmouth harbour. One of us had the salmon salad, the other ths charcuteries - ham, cheese and bread. The salad was very interesting and full of flavour and different ingredients: we then had a dessert which did not disappoint. Service was very cheerful and prompt. Based on this, we would go back again.

We had Sunday breakfast here in early September and it was excellent. We sat on the terrace opposite the main cafe with a view across the harbour which was ideal. Good menu. Prompt, friendly, efficient service. Reasonably priced given its location etc.. Definitely would return.

Lovely little cafe by the seaside, stopped by for a cream tea which was prepared nicely with the scones still hot. Atmosphere was lovely, place nicely decorated. There was quite a queue for the one toilet they had, but unlikely to change. Staff were nice and attentive.

Despite the beautiful waterfront location the food and service is excellent. So often venues take advantage of their location and the food suffers. Not the case with The Strand. The prices may be a tad on the high side, but this is Shaldon! 🇬🇧🇳🇿

It wasn’t great. Slow service, bland food. Burnt bacon on dry pancakes. Not salt and pepper on the table…just really basic stuff. Would be ok for a coffee. But it’s just using it’s beautiful position as a way of getting people in and then offering basic food.

Lovely coffee shop / cafe, just across the narrow road from the brown red sand beach, giving terriffic views of Teignmouth, and the hills of nearby Dartmoor. We enjoyed pancakes, sweet for my wife, and savory for me, both really enjoyable. Excellent young staff, who were very helpful particularly to an elderly couple on the nearby table. Great food, equally happy atmosphere.

We have visited Shaldon several times this year and always stop off in this charming cafe. Polite, friendly staff and fresh flavoursome food. We shared the Chicken ‘Banh Mi’ which is a chicken baguette marinated with oriental spice rub, ginger, garlic peppers and kaffir lime leaves. Tastes fresh and the oriental twist transforms a normal baguette into something different. We then shared a gluten free cream tea. I think this is the best gluten free scone I have eaten anywhere and as close to a standard wheat scone as I have found. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will always return whenever we find ourselves in or close to Shaldon.

The English breakfast is very good and they have some dishes with a twist on the menu, which is a nice change! The best matcha latte, chai latte and cherry pie tea infusion! Enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Strand Cafe. The Asian fusion menu is a break from the norm. Hot smoked salmon salad was absolutely beautiful, an unusual blend of flavours but all worked perfectly together. Croc monsieur was fantastic as was the Devon Cheese Tea. Staff were friendly and attentive, facilities were clean and tidy. Only thing that I would feedback is it would be nice to add a couple of childrens options to the menu. My 3year old daughter had a cheese and ham croissant which was lovely but a sandwich option would be good and perhaps add Cucumber /carrot sticks instead of crisps on the side of child's option. Overall though a lovely and very memorable lunch, woukd definitely return.
