Waited 2 hours and ended up with no food after receiving a notification saying it had been delivered and it hasn’t

Fantastic food, piping hot, good portions and tastes great!

Really lovely delivery driver, super polite even though he was freezing. The burger was huge, juicy and well cooked. My only thing with the burger is it would have been nice to choose sauce. Mac n cheese bites cooked to perfection and still hot on delivery. The garlic bread pizza was a little dissapointing as was so thin it was more like a crisp. The garlic sauce is amazing. Will definitely use again

Tried the takeaway for the first time. Had munchies box 5 and some jalapeno cheese bites. Came on time and hot. Great food! Worth every penny

Amazing food, here on holiday and would definitely recommend! Inside doesn’t look like much but we had the munchies take away box with burgers and pizza. The pizza is wood fired and the burgers are decent thickness definitely worth the money!

Nicely placed in the centre of town close to the main shopping areas, markets and bus station, this pub is now branded as an 'American-style burger and hot-dog bar' Well the food is good, though not outstanding and there is a wide range of drinks on offer The beer is well kept with the RED STRIPE lager being particularly good Its clean, though rather lacking in warmth or character The one member of staff on duty behind the bar was however lacking in most of the virues one hopes to find.....somewhat surly, unwilling to make either eye -contact or indeed speak....far more interested in his mobile phone than his customers That said, it provides a useful place to wait , warm & dry, for a bus I suppose

Fab chilli...anaemic chips...had this before with MG so sometimes put on notes for chips well done please but did not bother tonight as not made a difference before...but tonight some not even cooked through:(

Honestly one of the best burgers I have ever had! we got the munchie box and there was so much in there for such a good value. everything was really tasty and it is obvious they take pride in their food and ingredients. will definitely order again :)

I'm torn, because the food tasted great, and it was warm, but delivery took ages. We don't live far away but it was over 1 hour 30 minutes from order to delivery. If we could pick it up we would have only waited 25 minutes. If you are willing to wait, or pick it up yourself then I would definitely recommend.

Myself and my partner really enjoyed the food and atmosphere in the Market Gate in Newton Abbott, the young gentleman who was working behind the bar yesterday was really helpful and welcoming. We would definitely have food and drink in this lovely little place again. There was friendly people in the pub too. Thank you once again for your hospitality. Roots

Came in here yesterday for birthday drinks.. As I did a little newton abbot pub crawl for my birthday... Decent choice of largers.. And was finally happy to get a pint of red stripe.. Football was on and there was a good atmosphere... Nice Decent pub.. Very Good...

First time I’ve ordered from her so didn’t know what to expect. Portions sizes were very good and very tasty.

We didn't plan to eat here but ended up walking in sunsay noon time. Very cool place. We ate pizza and drank coffee. Pool table that they allowed my young boy to play. Allowed the two small boys to run around. Very clean and tidy. Lovely area to be in. Lots of drinks choices! Would love to see this place in full swing on a weekend evening.

Always a 10/10 when I order from here, the garlic dough balls are hand made and the garlic butter is to die for. The New York fries always hit the spot and I will 100% be recommending to everyone the staff always play to the adjustments to the order and I’ve never had anything missing

Once again can’t fault, one of, if not the best takeaway in newton. The pizzas are great, and my go too chili cheese fries are lovely. Hopefully they bring back the slow cooked meats, they were great also but been off the menu too long.

Collected bang in time! Piping hot even on a busy Friday night with a packed bar! Ended up with 2 pizza instead of 1! Must be a Christmas miracle or someone didn’t want theirs! Either way more pizza for me and one pizza is going in the oven to make my full Saturday day of fatherly parenting more bearable tomorrow! Thanks Market gate! I guess Christmas dreams do come true!

having ordered several times and always been pleased , this time was very disappointing, no chili's or buffalo sauce on the pizza...only 3 chicken strips not 4 and the cheese barely melted

Burger, chips, onion rings and cheese dips of the usual good standard. Horrified to find 3 Luke warm chicken wings nestled in with 3 fridge cold wings. Chicken appeared cooked but the sauce was cold. They all got binned

Heard good things about this place so I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. Chips was dry and stale couldn’t eat them and the burger had no tomato or onion just some aged lettuce and mayo . Gutted really £27 order and not satisfied

Food was over cooked or burnt. Chips tasted like they had been in the freezer for a long time.

A pub that covers all the basics well, has a few TVs dotted around showing live sports, a single ale available, decent pub grub on offer too.

The food as always was delicious. However the only problem I have is that the Hot Dog I ordered tasted like it had been left for a while as was quite tough and firm. However cannot fault the rest of the order as always was 10/10

Pizza was way too thin, no cheese no tom sauce and only 18 pieces of pepperoni for a 14 inch pizza - complained at the time but was hung up on and emailed but no response - shocking customer service

Bare brick and bare wood interior, if interior matters to you. Staff pleasant, no issues. Burgers arrived after 15 min which is perfectly acceptable for food cooked to order. Burgers very good, fries ditto. £25.40 for two burgers, one fries and two drinks which is good value. Five stars is for exceptional and outstanding which it wasn’t, and neither was I expecting it to be, but it was very good and nothing whatsoever wrong with that. Would go again.

First time in Newton Abbot. Popped in early on a Thursday afternoon, so quiet. Interesting decor but very nice, obviously a music pub, wish we could have stayed there for the evening. Food looked good. Expect it gets very busy.

i ordered cheesy chips and probably half the chips were brown/green and old, the garlic bread was cold but only took 5 mins for delivery? the hot dog was chewy and lumpy i understand it’s tricker coming to the end of the night motivation is lost & ur not gonna make fresh food in hopes u get last minute orders i get it just wasn’t great food i don’t usually complain so i feel guilty going so

They were only 5minutes late but they did forget a pizza. The chips were dry and tasteless. The hot dog is a con for the price and the roll doesn’t even fit the sausage. But on a plus the pizzas that were delivered were very nice.

Hard overcooked chicken, undercooked onion rings and soggy fries. Ok burger but nothing special. We left most of the food as inedible. Never had this issue from Market gate before but has put us off ordering from them again.

Order was missing multiple items of food including an entire pizza! Was too late in the night to re-order more food so had to go hungry and take a refund for the order. It’s a shame but the food that did turn up was decent.
