Walked in, wasn’t welcomed , had to go up and ask about how to order.. water dispenser didn’t work properly and when I asked about it - no response… Sandwiches were poor with slim fillings Will not return

Lovely place, nice staff but our portions of food at 5 pounds for each. Really small pieces. Very disappointed, not coming again. 5 pounds for a tiny plate. Not acceptable.

Had (too many!) excellent cocktails and a pizza here on a Saturday afternoon with family. Lovely atmosphere, great food and drink, and really friendly service. Also in a really good spot opposite the Lawn. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Dawlish.

The Mix serves great tapas, pizza and delicious cakes. The staff are always welcoming and it has an intimate atmosphere. Reasonable prices.

Love the Mojitos from here and that they do take away cocktails! Food is OK but this place is for socialising and drinking . Often have themed nights for fixed price .

I had a great coffee on a Sunday. Well made. The night before I went for food and ordered the 8inch pizza. The pizza was a 5/10 with a thin crust that looked like it was a tortilla base and uninteresting cheap ingredients. £11 for that. I wouldn’t go for food. The cocktails looked good tho and the vibe was there.

Lovely bar/coffee shop! Customer service is great too. I got the lemon sherbet slush and it was tangy and refreshing - great for summer (£3.50) I would recommend!

Bargain Tuesday tapas meal, 5 excellent tapas and a half priced bottle of wine. So hungry we added two extra dishes including a repeat of the sticky cauliflower. Friendly service from all the staff in a cosy atmosphere.

I live locally and Went there for an evening recently, sadly was a tad disappointed to be fair, as the service was a bit all over the show, some staff very young and seemed a bit inexperienced. Cocktails were ok, nothing special. Spent quite a few quid in there to be fair, and felt rushed at the end of the night, but wasn’t late. Any will possibly try again, let’s wait and see.

do not come here expecting to get drunk. The cocktails & fishbowl are diluted like crazy. Even the hand sanitizer was diluted lmfao.

What a gem of a place! Lovely decor, great choice of drinks and food. We didn't eat but their pizzas smelt and looked amazing - deffo one for next time! Service was great and it had a lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to return 🍕🍹

We turned up for cocktails and food at 19.50, given as that the opening hours say open until 9pm. We were told they were closing early as it was quiet. You are either open as per your advertised hours or you are not, don't waste peoples time who come out to support a local business. If you are quiet on a Monday night, close on a Monday night. I won't bother again, I'll go to a chain who at least will honour their opening times. Disappointing.

This place us just the cutest most lovely place! We ate there tonight as holiday makers to Dawlish we booked a table a month ago as 2 members of the family had birthdays.The food was 5☆ We had pizzas (wow) and tacos, onion rings (best ever) and halumi bites. It was all fresh and delishous. The atmosphere is vibey and we loved that. All the staff were very sweet and attentitive. This place is a must! 5 stars x Thank you!

We had a works social night at the mix. From arriving at 7pm till we left late evening, we had a fab time! Staff were incredible, food was awesome and cocktails and shots were lush!

We went for cocktails and pizza, food was very good, star of the show has to be the onion rings, possibly the best onion rings I’ve had! cocktails are fantastic and at a great price, staff where super friendly and provided fantastic service!

Stopped off for a bite to eat after our walk along the sea front. What grabbed my attention was the menu out front displaying that the food could be made Gluten Free, and there was lots of choice & prices were good so opted to go in. We shared a gluten free pizza and chips, and had 2 bottled ciders. All very tasty and was presented well. Didnt have to wait long (wasn't very busy) The atmosphere was relaxed, it was nicely decorated inside and clean. The lady who served us was polite and friendly so no issues there. All in all a pleasant lunch stop. Many thanks!

What a lovely quirky place, day or night. Lovely cocktails and the food is fresh and delicious. Service friendly and helpful. We were there on a Sunday night so it was quite quiet but they deserve to be busy the rest of the time. Highly recommend ❤️

We were in Dawlish and really struggling to find somewhere open to eat Tuesday night in a pub jade been told the mix was OK. I have to say it was embarrassing. Our food was terrible I was embarrassed to receive it and my partner and I could not eat it. We had ordered chicken fajitas. The best thing about it was the soured cream, bought in obviously. The chicken I don't believe was real chicken. It was sort of cubed 0.5cm pieces slightly pink. Clearly frozen and microwaved some cubes were still cold, tasteless and a certain bounce to the teeth. The salad it came with was pitiful the cheese tastless and ready grated. Embarrassing. Partner had a beer which was flat and I had a cosmopolitan which was ridiculously sweet to taste. I couldn't speak to the girls in there, like I say it was embarrassingly bad. I do think they knew as they didn't ask if everything was OK, just asked if we'd finished as there was so much left on the plate. It's a week on and I'm still shocked at how bad it was. Wish I'd taken a photo to prove but didn't.

Really good, cosy little bar. Great atmosphere. Good choice of cocktails and bottled beers. Great to sit in the window seats and watch the world go buy whilst sipping tequila cocktails.

Tapas was dreadful, literally never had worse. Nachos were soggy due to the ‘salsa’ (some unseasoned tinned tomatoes) thrown all over them. The guacamole was brown, stiff and made me throw up in my mouth. Chips were ok, pizza was undercooked, soggy and just total pants. With a little bit of effort and attention to detail, this place would have been ok and reasonably priced. But as it is I will not be back.

Came here with family and had a lovely evening. The food was pizza-licious, complimented with the best cocktails as well. All the staff were super friendly and polite. Would definitely visit again and would recommend to anyone that loves a good pizza and cocktail 🍕🍹😊

Careful! They use mature cheddar in their pizzas and it tastes like cauliflower cheese. No mozzarella here. Che schifo And yet they still manage to charge £10 for a margherita somehow

We walked in on a Saturday evening, ignored by all staff so looked around and found 2 stools. A cheerful greeting on entering goes such a long way. I felt unwelcome from the start. 5 staff behind bar but nobody approached us so I went up to them and enquired if I should order at the bar or wait for service, a shrug and " either " was the reply. We ordered 2 cocktails. A Pina Colada and a Cosmo . The Pina Colada was like nothing I had ever tasted, unfortunately. It looked and tasted like a pineapple juice with ice. Definitely didn't taste any alcohol. My partner said the Cosmo was perfect. At over £7 for each I felt ripped off.

My first time in The Mix and it won't be my last. The food was excellent, Nachos as a starter with the Wasabi Peas and Olives. 👍We had all of the Tapas dishes to share for our main course and they were even better. My favourite was the Halloumi bites. The staff were all friendly, efficient and pleased to see you. The drinks selection is pretty special too.

Very good cocktails and tapas. Proper cocktails, not from pre-made mix like alot of the big chains. Love that there is somewhere like this in Dawlish, doing something a bit different.

One member of staff was outstanding, and the cocktails 🍸 were very good, however the table we were on was sticky and all the menus were also sticky, just a few tweaks and this could be an excellent business.

Our party was made to feel very welcome,service was prompt and efficient,food was excellent (we had mixed tapas dishes),the drinks prices were very reasonable,the cocktails well made and nicely presented,I will certainly return.

Although marketed as mainly cocktails, The Mix also serves pizzas and tapas. Both were excellent and with a decent selection of wines this is a lovely little place to stop for drink and a light meal. Will definitely go back

Lovely lunch time for a cocktail and pizza meal to share. Service great nice ambiance and both sharing nachos and pizza delivered within reasonable time and plenty for two to share.

Came here for games night which is a fab idea. Staff and food were nice though menu is limited.

In response to the owner's reply below. Firstly, you've misquoted me by erroneously saying I'll never be re-visiting. It'll be conditional however. The prevailing contentious issue isn't a questionable human error in mixing up bills, rather, how the whole distasteful experience was handled and dealt with by you and staff. How? In a pathetic, unprofessional, insensitive, anti-customer, and unethical manner to put it mildly. I'm glad I noticed it before being out of pocket by a massive £36! Yes it's a big deal. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Review: Quite a mixed experience it was for me and friends at this place. Repeat custom is an ongoing disappointing experience no doubt. Large pizza proved to be inedible as the base was dough-y and partially cooked. Money wasted. Upon mentioning it to the staff, it drew no attention and instead, with a blasé dismissive look and muttering whisper, said she'll let the cook know. That's it. Overpriced menu. Fiancé and I visited for hot drinks and cakes recently. All was well. That is, until bill time. A young boy fumbled at the till and charged me £56 approx. Still wondering in shock mode, I paid it. As I took the unitemized card receipt, I queried it. He looked very flustered by this time which gave the game away. More waste of time. Then he hurried into the back-room and after more time waste, lady Lucy - probably the proprietor - appeared. Tapped some buttons with a very grim look on her face. Total lack of basic courtesy. Finally, she refunded me £36 on my card which the till receipt evidenced was the price of 3 tapas someone else had endured. As she handed me the receipts with an even more caustic and guilty look, it seems I was at fault. She said and I quote verbatim: "You should check the amount before payment.". Period. Hmm. I see. Must be The Mix's new marketing strategy. Scapegoat the customer. Appalling, to say the very least. It left me wondering if I'd been overcharged on previous occasions too. Summarising then, if you do visit this place, check your bills twice over; query where necessary; ask for an ITEMIZED bill; ask for a fresh replacement of inedible and unpalatable food or lukewarm beverages and if they're unwilling, demand a full refund as part of your basic mandatory customer's rights. As an alternative, try other cafés first. Would I visit again? Maybe. And if I do, it'll be with a tight hold on my money purse.

We called in for coffee and cake. The cake selection was limited. My partner was satisfied with his drink although the cookie was nothing special. I got half a cup of strong, bitter sludge and left most of it as such strong coffee isn't to my taste. The brownie was very sweet with a dense texture and not pleasant. I have heard that this place is good in the evening but there are many better places for coffee and cake in the town.

Friends who live locally recommended The Mix for a “mix” of cocktails, wine and pizza in a pleasant environment, and they were right. Good wines (recommended by Evie one of our servers) and cocktails flowed! We were a party of 4, and I’m pleased we booked a table in advance as it was busy, and a number of potential “walk ins” were disappointed as all the tables were taken by 8.30. I really enjoyed the Camembert starter and my very tasty pizza. Nice staff who were happy to chat to you, but not interfere. A good night all round. We’ll come again the next time we visit Dawlish.

We really enjoyed our evening. We had cocktails, tapas and wine, all of which were really great. The tomato and pesto salad was particularly yummy. Only a small selection but everything was really good and great value so we were all very happy. Much better to have a few things made really well. Thank you, we'll definitely be back soon.

It's a basic cafe. Food was good but limited menu and a bit of a wait even though it was really quiet at the time. Just a seaside town cafe, not much more to say.

Nice food, cocktails and atmosphere. Food quite slow to come out but very good when it did. Got very noisy as the evening wore on - wooden floors, coffee machine, people talking loudly etc. Staff friendly and helpful

Having only moved to the area recently, I was looking forward to enjoying my first night out in Dawlish. Despite the friendly fairy lights making the place look cozy and blankets in a box if you got cold with a promising menu of drinks and food...we were definitely underwhelmed before long. Uncomfortable seating and overpriced cocktails might have been overlooked had we not decided to have food as well... (which should have been no surprise after sampling overpriced mulled offerings during the Christmas market- my mistake giving them another chance) With no music playing, voices echoed giving no privacy and meant no atmosphere either...it was hardly surprising there weren't many people inside. We ordered Nachos and a few tapas to share...well, how disappointing that was! Again, overpriced for the measly offerings that arrived. A stiff, dark green, bitter paste (supposedly guacomole) would have been more at home in a newborn's nappy and courgette fritters that weren't fritters at all, but tasteless thin slivers of deep fried something resembling grey and bitter arcade game tickets...the only saving grace were the halloumi and garlic mayo....the hummus and crushed breadroll weren't anything to write home about but edible at least. I complained but apparently it fell on deaf ears or an unfazed cook who didn't care, as no apologies were given, no explanations made or discounts offered...so while I suspect many businesses are struggling with fewer customers due to covid...this is one I won't be bothering to keep afloat. Neither should you.

Lovely little retreat for cocktails and pizza. Although the menu is dedicated to pizza the food is of high quality. The staff are friendly and prices affordable. 1 pizza easily feeds 2, so dont over order. During busy times mistakes may happen and food may get allocated to others, leaving you short on your order, which is what happened to our party. My son was left waiting for 15 mins after everyone had been served their food. Try telling a 14 year old with autism!!!!! That his food wont be long.

Wow.... went here Friday with 3 other ladies and was so very pleasantly surprised at the choice of cocktails that were delicious, the Garlic Bread with cheese and the Pizzas, totally full of taste and huge, the service was spot on and we were looked after so well we will definately be going back, well done The Mix, hope you're here to stay for a long time.

So glad we came here. Beautiful cocktails, local beers, had 2 pizzas and some loaded sweet potaote fries between 2 adults and 2 children, we couldn't eat it all but got it wrapped to go as it was SOOOOOO good!!!! Daughter loved her milkshake. Clean and friendly, will recommend to everyone!

Love supporting local businesses and to see these girls stepping out to set up a bricks and mortar business in the recent month and during a pandemic is something to be inspired about. I wish them every blessing in the months to come as things start to get back to something closer resembling normal. Well done. PS. The vanilla shake was awesome. I will surely be coming back. Pp.s as promised, back again. As before, service was amazing and the cake was great and the shake lasted all of a few seconds!

We visited The Mix for cocktails and nachos one evening after feeding the swans in Dawlish. The Pina Colada couldn’t have been nicer and the nachos were delicious, and a very generous portion too. It was so good that we went and repeated the experience the following evening and it was just as good. Sadly it was our last evening in Dawlish, otherwise I suspect we would have become regulars.

Spent the weekend in Dawlish and visited on both Friday and Saturday night. A lovely cosy bar. Pizza and nachos were excellent and the cocktails are delicious. All really reasonably priced and fantastic service.
