A cracking little local pub. There's always 2 great ales on. Friendly atmosphere and a lovely fire in the cold months. Dog friendly. Highly recommended. (Les, you owe me a beer for this review!)

I visited this evening and the overwhelming musty/foul smell which I can only assume is from the carpet! Not a great range of beers and ales available, staff didn’t look very willing to serve. I don’t think it is very accessible for wheelchair users. I can’t see any reason to return.

We had a lovely Sunday breakfast at The Lord Nelson. It was really good value for money and we were made to feel very welcome by Lesley & Pete as always. Lesley was happy to accommodate our individual requirements which made it super scrummy. Will definitely be back!

I've been visiting this pub for the last few years and it has always been really friendly and welcoming and up until last year did great food as well. February this year saw a change in management and its great to see food is back on the menu. Three of us did the Friday Pie Night and it was really good food and was lovely to be able to eat here once again. Perfect drinking atmosphere remains, and whilst food isn't every day, it is a regular event. I think at the moment it is Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays but check first. Our pies were spot on and made locally and the accompanying veg was really good too. Has very much a home cooked edge and is really tasty. The whole evening was lovely and so we shall be back. Pub comprises two bars one with a wood burner. Outside seating area has recently been extended and has loads of space which is great for smokers and for kids to run around in. Parking is non-existent really but on-street parking is available but can be hit and miss. With the new road layout below the parking has improved somewhat, but I tend to walk. All in all well worth a visit and the friendly welcome. Nice little local boozer.

We were drawn in by their monthly quiz night, and decided to stay for food and cocktails! They were happy to make vegan versions of their veggie tapas - the padron peppers, buttered garlic greens, and houmous with tortilla chips were particularly good. Nice range of great value cocktails too.

been there several times because of the nice garden and pool table, staff and landlord are unfriendly, not very relaxing atmosphere. It is not worth it in the end, there are nicer pubs in the village.

It was a busy Saturday night which made a great convivial atmosphere. Our waitress Polly was very friendly and attentive and kept us updated as to our order’s progress, and suggested some snacks while we waited as the kitchen was working flat out! Food was good despite a 30 minute delay. The hotel was excellent - we stayed overnight.

We met up with family from out of town for dinner. We received a Great warm family welcome. The menu was extensive and exciting. A great choice of Chinese food and pub classics. Great choice of beer including some local beers. We both had dogs that were welcomed as part of the family. Staff were friendly, it’s a family run pub and everyone pulls together. Mai, the chef produced possibly the best Chinese food I’ve ever tasted and if you’re lucky enough to try Mia’s cake that’s a real treat! Clean, well managed, friendly, delicious! Chatted with Mai and her family while we were there. They’ve recently taken this pub on and are working hard to get it the way they want it but you’d never know, it’s lovely! Will definitely eat there again!
