We were welcomed by the head bar man, what a gentleman & a legend taking the time to talk to us. We had visited Buckfast Abbey & drove through this quaint little village, parked cheaply in the pay & display & popped into this small village pub. Great little traditional pub, pool table on the right hand side, very clean & throughout. Good selection of beer & ales. We sat in their well tendered gardens. Definitely recommend for a stop off.

Visited to watch the 6 nations, well placed projector screen, sound on, locals there to get involved and build an atmosphere. There was a good selection of beers & ales and an open fire in the bar made it feel warm and pleasantly lively. . Also has pool and darts in a 2nd bar room.

Called in for a couple of beers before supper. Excellent real ale from Kingsteinton Brewery. A warm welcome from mein host. We sat in the attractive, well kept beer garden. A beacon of light in Buckfastleigh.

A very pleasant pub, I volunteer at the South Devon Railway and if I have time to kill waiting for the bus back to Plymouth I will pop into the Kings for a pint. Always received a warm welcome from the landlord, great selection of local ales with a pleasant lounge to enjoy the drink. Toilets are also always fresh and clean, top marks. Highly recommend.

The barman was friendly and professional, and had an air that he was wise beyond his years and should have had a name like Bartholomew

Always have 3 good local ales on draught at a good price. Its popular for rugby games as the landlord is a kiwi and a sponsor of the local team- it doesn't get rowdy though as he keeps everyone on the straight and narrow! No food is served but in the summer the beer garden is a stunning place to sit and have a beer and some crisps. Free pool in the bar on Sunday and Wednesdays is a bonus.

A once grand Hotel that has seen better days. Uninspiring range of drinks and sport on a big screen. Has a good log fire.

Great range of local hand drawn ales at reasonable prices. Very friendly staff and locals. Good bands on music nights. The weekly quiz though is dull and needs revitalizing.

My brother and his family stayed recently whilst visiting and the room was excellent and very reasonable. Very friendly. Totally recommend!

Habiendo mudado recientemente a Buckfastleigh hemos encontrado este pub para salir de su manera de hacernos sentir bienvenidos. Disfrute especialmente de los concursos semanales. Los precios son muy razonables. En resumen un gran pub local.

Fuimos para comer el domingo. Desde el exterior no esperes mucho. Pero era decente, comida casera y a un precio muy razonable. Servicio amable. No se puede pedir más.

Not somewhere you would like to visit after 6pm in the evening. This pub is situated in a lovely area but unfortunately there is fighting in the streets and people climbing over the back of the pub after being thrown out !

We are always looking for a good place to eat Sunday lunch, and this is definitely it. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. Really nice eating in the garden on a sunny day. We will be going there regularly. The owners and staff are lovely and couldn't be more helpful.

It was decent with an atmosphere of 4. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new experience and different cuisine.

I've been here a few times now and each time I haven't been disappointed. A great home made Sunday lunch with huge helpings, the puddings were really delicious too. The staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was perfect to enjoy a meal.
