Thought this looked like an authentic French cafe, and encouraged by the reviews we called in. Lovely garden out the back, and efficient service. But the pastries and coffee were disappointing. Really need to address the quality of what they are selling.

Lovely place for breakfast, everyone very welcoming and the service was great. The food was excellent but the Coffee needs a bit of tweaking. I think the quality of the beans needs looking at as my cappuccino was watery and tasted bitter not smooth. However, it wouldn't stop us returning.

St Pierre Café in Canterbury is a delightful spot that combines charming ambiance with delicious offerings. Nestled in the heart of the city, this café stands out with its cozy atmosphere and friendly service. The interior is tastefully decorated, providing a warm and inviting space perfect for a relaxed meal or a casual coffee break. The menu at St Pierre Café is varied and caters to a wide range of tastes. Breakfast options are particularly noteworthy, with freshly baked pastries, hearty breakfast plates, and a selection of beverages that include excellent coffee and refreshing teas. Service is prompt and personable, making every visit a pleasant experience. The staff is attentive and eager to accommodate special requests, adding to the overall positive vibe of the place. Special thanks and special mention to Chama. For suggesting me the best croissant aux champignons. Which was one of the outstanding and amazing dish here. Whether you're stopping by for a quick coffee, enjoying a leisurely breakfast, or having a casual lunch with friends, St Pierre Café ensures a satisfying visit. Overall, St Pierre Café is a must-visit in Canterbury for its excellent food, welcoming environment, and top-notch service. 2 of us sat on a table of 3 and we were rudely told by a woman with black hair that we would need to move to a table of 2 in case it got busy. That's fair enough, so we moved. Then when my partner went to put her coat on as we left, the waitress scowled at us both because she was walking directly behind my partner with some hot drinks. She didn't say a word, literally just scowled and huffed as if it was our fault. Maybe if you didn't have a table for 2 right in the walkway, you wouldn't have this issue. We bought 2 coffees, one cappuccino and one latte, both were really weak and just tasted off milk. I wouldn't not recommend this place if you like your coffee to taste like coffee

Coffee weak and milky despite ordering an Americano, chocolate twist was tasty though. One of the staff a bit offish. Update post response: thank you for taking the time to respond which is genuinely refreshing. Regards coffee, I asked for an Americano when she took the order so if you don't do this type of coffee which is extremely common now, respectfully you should train your staff to advise customers which would avoid disappointment. I did bring it to the attention on payment and wasn't charged so thank you again.

Great place to stop in for a snack or lunch. Had one of the baguettes du jour which was tasty, the side of chips they give with it is a little skimpy though. Also as an aside they use traditional french bar soap in the toilets that you really need to...ahem...stroke...in order to wash your hands which I guess makes it more authentically french but I think is maybe a tradition that can be left in the past, felt a little gross/unsanitary for a public toilet.

Execrably poor. Cafe Pierre purports to have a French flavour. They serve flavourless croissants. I left feeling curious about their sourcing. They serve weak coffee whose characteristics suggest either an indifferent blend or that they have managed to overcome any virtue it may have had. Service was slow at the beginning of the day when the cafe was empty. It would take so little effort to improve, but the commercial imperative so often wins the day. Doubtless they don't need to strive even for adequacy in a very busy tourist spot. I don't post reviews, usually, but I felt outraged, - let down and deceived by their marketing.

I was expecting to find a gold nugget inside the croissant due to its extremely high price, and yet at the first bite, the croissant was dry, it seemed like it was from the day before. It was replaced with a pain au chocolat, but it had the same taste. The cappuccino was not properly made, with chocolate on top and liters of milk, served in a bowl!!! probably adapted to UK standards. But we went to a French place on purpose because we had no hope in the Brits making a proper cappuccino, and we trusted the French would do it better, but they deeply disappointed us. The table was not clean At least some of the staff were nice

Quaint little cafe at the heart of Canterbury. The food was delicious, with a range of dishes ordered by the table and everyone being complimentary about their choice and enjoying it so much we even ended up having a dessert at lunch time. The majority of staff were happy, smiley and helpful however our waiter seemed to be a grumpy teenage boy. The courtyard is charming with lots of potted plants and lovely flowers. The disguise for the rubbish crate needs a lot more thought, and our table was right beside it so it was very noticeable.

Really busy little cafe (you know it’s going to be good!) with a couple of front tables, indoor tables & garden space (it was full so we didn’t manage to see the garden). We sat in the front. Menu definitely could have been clearer & in larger font. Food was really good & we were welcome to take out although we didn’t think coffee was that good comparing to other places. Major low was when we ordered cheese panini & 2 spinach quiches… lady asked if we want some salad with it so we said yes… not expecting to be charged for it at the end £3.25 pp. Queue was really long, from both sides but we weren’t ready to pay £6.50 extra so I queued to ask what that charge was. The lady said its the salads, I said we had no idea we had to pay extra for it & were not prepared to pay extra(elsewhere when you order quiche or sandwiches you get extra salad &/or crisps without additional charge) but herself & other 2 members of staff just stood there in silence looking at me so I just took it on the chin & left. I’d like to suggest that next time when you offer things like this just clarify that it’ll be extra charge. It would save us frustration & you’d get a 5* review because food was really good (especially Honey Cake). Nobody likes feeling like they were being done over.
