Since early June, we have been to Les Enfants five times, all under different circumstances and for different reasons. The first was a family meal out with visiting son, daughter-in-law and grandchild. It was an absolutely splendid occasion, and Chef Eric made it his personal business to make extra extra sure that we had a fabulous time. He succeeded beyond anybody's expectations! It was my 8-year-old’s second visit, her first was when she was 18 months old. She was over the moon with her meal and awarded the chef a million zillion stars. This was the summer that grandchild was going to get to stay with grandparents for the best part of the summer. The second visit was scheduled for the three of us a week and ½ into her visit, as a special night out. Instead, a traumatised and exhausted two of us staggered into the restaurant, and I informed the wait staff, who had greeted us warmly, that my husband would not be joining us, as he had that morning broken both bones in his right arm and was still sitting in the A&E waiting room, after being there for hours after the hour or so he was in a more local urgent care facility. We decided that I should go with our kiddo to dinner, and we would touch base once he was either treated or admitted. The staff could not have taken better care of us. They prepared bespoke treats for my little one and brought her apple juice in a fancy glass and kept it topped up. The third time, again it was just two of us…I had returned our grandchild back to her parents at the end of her stay, and finally my husband could come home as soon as I returned from the 48 hour round trip to the states. Weeks later, when he was finally able to go out…this is where we went. We walked into to a warm welcome, and don’t you know, here comes Chef with a broken leg. Mid-September saw us return, this time with a visiting nephew in tow, and once again, great welcome, great service, great food. Chef, needing a time to really properly heal his leg, announced he would be closing up for the season at end of September, so we booked to come have one last great meal before he reopens next season. Rest up Chef! We look forward to our next visit! https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g190817-d10196317-r971654389-Restaurant_Les_Enfants_Terribles-Weymouth_Dorset_England.html#

Another amazing meal again. Chef Eric you never fail with your food and presentation. We had the onion soup and fish soup and shared half each as we both wanted the soups. The mains were also good. Whenever we come to Weymouth we book a few weeks before to make sure we can get in. As you say it's not fast food and all prepared and cooked fresh. A nice slow meal. A big shout out to Claire our waitress who was knowledgeable about the food but had a great sense of humor. She is an added extra to your restaurant. We will be back again to try the sharing experience.

Ate an early dinner here with a friend before attending a show at the nearby Pavilion. Chef Eric was a charming and funny host and I shall be dreaming about my seabass for quite some time. Beautiful fish, cooked simply and respectfully. Absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend.

Amazing food! We were in Weymouth for the Ironman and manage to get a walk in table late afternoon, really worth it. We got oysters (so fresh and with the vinegar and shallots). My partner took the starter of the day with octopus and then he had the fish and chips. I got the mussels and I’m still thinking about it. The only thing to keep in mind is the restaurant is small and the team as well so don’t be in a rush as there is some waiting time between the dishes.

First class service and food quality from Eric and his attentive staff. We wrote to Eric in advance to request some small changes to the menu as my wife is gluten free. Eric rang me to discuss and the quality of his signature dish was outstanding. Everything is cooked from fresh and reasonably priced. We have celebrated both my wife’s birthday and our anniversary here. We had a fantastic time and will return. Excellent.

We left a message today to book for lunch while driving to Weymouth. We didn’t have any network on the road and could not get calls from the restaurant to confirm the booking. When we arrived, we clearly felt we were not welcome, for the reason that we were not reachable on the phone. Not our fault. The owner was rude with us and made us feel like guilty. Quite a pity since the food is probably good. Would be great to put your frustration on other people that potential customers.

Like most people, I do my due diligence when booking restaurants and hotels and always surprised when my experience is so different from others that have recently had. We arrived at LFT at 7:15 for our 7:30 dinner and greeted with a warm welcome. The server and all service over the evening was amazing, warm friendly, engaging and fun. Chef Eric came around each table to talk about the specials and answer any questions about the food that evening. As it was the week before the seafood festival, the menu was the late menu only, which was a shame as I was really looking forward to the fish soup. However, the special was squid with a chickpea and charred sweetcorn salsa with a soy and ginger dressing. My partner had the dressed crab. Both were delicious to both the eyes and tummy. We had the sea bass en papillote in foil with new potatoes and a side of green beans. The fish was perfectly cooked and the new potatoes were perfect the best I have had in a long time. Pudding was crème brûlée and a cheese board. Overall, it was a really enjoyable evening with excellent food. I am fortunate to dine in a lot of French restaurants and bistros, LET is a perfect example of those, good food well cooked with care and attention and great friendly service. Highly recommend

The menu was uninspiring and didn’t surprise us . The fish and chips was cloggy and needs seasoning. The fish was heavy . I left most of it. The muscles were a lovely flavour but small and the poached pear was rock solid and tasteless . Sorry but we didn’t enjoy the food at all in spite of the chef attention when served. Sorry it just isn’t up to parr.

The service was impeccable but the menu has fish options with exorbitant figures or meat at a lower cost. I cannot forget a fish dish for two at £145 and another fish dish at £56. These dishes alternated with linguine bolognese that only a fool would buy in a French restaurant in the UK. The restaurant is nothing special, the bathroom small and uncomfortable and the furniture unpretentious. The restaurant is also located in an area full of cheaper restaurants, which is probably the reason why it was deserted. A word of advice: if you want to offer such high quality dishes, you should have more options of cheaper fish dishes or alternatively opt for a restaurant with a richer and tidier décor. I did not give you two stars just for the reasons listed here but because on tripadvisor you are considered €€-€€ and I would classify you more as €€€€.

Had a fantastic meal here yesterday evening. Lea Enfants Terribles js very cosy small restaurant and we had the table right by the kitchen. It was fascinating to watch Eric work and he is clearly someone very serious about his food, as well as someone who very much enjoys providing amazing tastes, colours and textures to people who appreciate great food. The crevettes appetiser was a great touch, the mackerel pate was sublime and the Chateaubriand was out of this world - especially with the wonderful gratin potato and the excellent Provençal style green beans. Our only regret is not having any deserts, but I am sure we will back another time to sample those. Thank you for a fantastic evening.

Really interesting place. The name of the restaurant made me laugh, as did the reputation of the chef, having had the good fortune of dining several times in Marco Pierre White's restaurants over the years and seeing some performances there! Marco as many will know was known as the UK's original Enfant Terrible!! The seafood we had was so fresh and kept simple so that you could taste the sea. The oysters were the best I have ever tasted. Staff couldn't be more helpful, so service was fantastic. Atmosphere seemed to me a bit odd though and could be better - needs to be lighter whilst retaining the excellence in the other areas.

Had the oysters, sea bass, sweet prawns, and lobster. All were delicious. The only downside is that outside seating is right next to the road, and the stream of diesel powered goods vans detracts from the atmosphere. As we live over 100miles away we only visit about two or three times a year but yet again Chef Eric and his staff have scored another full marks review. We had the squid to start with followed by the prawns for my wife and the mussels for myself. Dessert was the Honey Cake and a double cream with small berries accompanying it. All the dishes were absolutely superb as was the restaurant’s own bottle of Sauvignon Pays D’Oc. So good that we bought a bottle to take home. My wife who is one of the fussiest eaters in the World went to tell Chef Eric at the end that it was one of the best meals she’s ever had and we’ve eaten at many Michelin Star restaurants. 10/10 for the food, the staff and the ambience. No wonder we travel so far just to eat here and no wonder it wins best restaurant awards.

Our first visit here, although we had already recommended it to family & friends as a place we wanted to go since we bought a place locally, so we finally made it. We did go on a Winter season fixed price offer, so that kept the price down and offers very good value. Food was superb, Squid & Chickpea starter was superb, the Sea Bass signature dish also superb. The wine list is compact but decent and priced realistically. The chef/owner is a bit if a character, not sure if the slightly sour demeanour is an act or he genuinely is a bit grumpy, but his kitchen skills are what matters. The only thing that could be improved is the lighting, it’s a bit bright, especially when the kitchen turn on the lights over the serving area, it can be a bit like a Saturn V taking off, softer warmer lighting and a shield around the serving lights would be great, there may be some reason it to shield the serving lights, but the overall lighting could be softer. Overall a very enjoyable dinner, good value on the off season deal but would be happy to pay standard prices at busier times.

We were in Weymouth! It was the last evening of October 2023! It was raining and blowing a hoolie! That is until we entered ‘Les Enfants Terribles’! We were met by Chef Eric and immediately transported to a sultry romantic evening somewhere in France! It was warm and inviting, with the lighting, the music and the aroma of French cooking! We were shown to our table by Kieran our brilliant waiter for the evening, where we ordered a beautiful bottle of Merlot. My partner chose the seafood soup from the 3 course set menu starters and I opted for the grilled squid on a bed of chickpeas! Both starters were cooked to perfection and delicious. Another glass of Merlot and on to the main courses! My partner choosing the Portland crab with tomato salad and fries which she adored! My choice was Chef Eric’s signature dish of whole Seabass fillets with leeks, carrots Fennel and white wine, cooked and served in foil, which was the finest fish dish I have ever eaten! Desserts were chocolate cheesecake and a calvados based liqueur coffee to finish off a fantastic experience, with the stars of the show being the Seabass and Grilled squid! Chef Eric was on hand to answer our questions regarding his food and showed genuine interest in us! Kieran, our waiter, being so attentive and professional made our dining experience a joy! Thank you again Chef Eric and his team!

We really enjoyed yesterday's French meal as prepared by the very talented Eric and his team. I had the mussel special for my main and it was exactly as I like it - a beautiful, strong white wine sauce with perfectly cooked chips to dunk in it. The apple and walnut cake went down a treat with a glass of Sauternes and the post meal coffees were very nice with what we thought were homemade Amaretti biscuits. We always try and get the opportunity to try Weymouth seafood when we're in the area and Les Enfants Terribles does it proud. I'd love to come again in the future and try the fish and chips - any excuse to have more of the chips! Thanks for a great meal.

Such a lovely gesture! we received a courtesy call during the day to say they were very short staffed so they were running on a reduced menu, this wasn't an issue at all and meant we ordered items we wouldn't usually go for, all of the food was absolutely incredible, really fresh and beautifully prepared! The service was great and the chef came out to greet each table especially and explained the short menu, which was a really nice touch, the only down side was that one other table was very loud, drunk and obnoxious which was a lot to deal with in quite a small venue. Such a great restaurant, with a menu that reflects local produce and seasonal dishes. The wine selection offered great choice, we went with the house white, shout out to the creativity with the label. Our children had the beef linguine, which was superb. We had the specials, mackerel & trout (amazing) Overall, superb restaurant that offers exceptional seafood. (Hats off to the Poole Oysters - giants!) Will definitely come again.

Had a lovely lunch here. Cosy relaxed atmosphere with a friendly professional service at this unpretentious harbourside restaurant. Absolutely perfect meal. We both had the Half Sea Bass on bed of vegetables and served with baby potatoes, all of which were cooked to perfection. Followed by the Walnut and Honey Cake with tea......perfect. The Platter also looked fantastic, which had been ordered on another table. However, we only wanted a light lunch. Nice to see French influenced menu. Highly recommend.

Lovely lunch of fresh crab and sea bass en papillote. Much fussing of our old dog always goes down well as did the rose. These are the quality restaurants we need to support. Thank you for a relaxing hour or so watching Weymouth harbour bustlings.

Great location. Friendly staff. Was very busy when we went and subsequently servicena bit slow but not unreasonably so given the number of covers being served.

A charming restaurant in a lovely seaside town. The food was excellent and all concerned were attentive and considerate. Monsieur Tavernier, the chef came and chatted to us about the menu which added to the ambience of the whole evening.

An absolute delight dining here! It’s better to reserve and make a booking as we did a walk in, so the menu is slightly limited as it’s reserve for people who does reservations. Despite that! The seafood was very fresh, and the portion was huge. They gave us large fries and tomato salad along with the seafood platter for one. Oysters were super fresh and service was great!

Amazing food. I don't even understand how the chef is able to make a simple potatoe taste so good.

This is food prepared with real thought and care. We had the clams and crispy squid starter. Trout, seabass, French beans and dauphinois main. Shared pears poached in red wine for desert. One of those rare occasions where every dish was flawless. Thanks to Eric and the team!

Well we were booked for a surprise 60th Birthday meal on 22nd December 2023. Spoke directly with the restaurant to book & he phoned back to clarify . Just under before someone said they were shutting for Christmas & New Year - their last night was Monday 18th. I rang them constantly that evening with no answer, & I’ve rang them since. I have emailed them with out reply. I have never in my life had such poor customer service

We went in last week for brunch and had booked. The table was rather small for all 5 of us to sit comfortably as it was extremely hot, I’d ask waiter was if ok if we flowed over to table next to us - she said yes but was unable to clear it until she had served another customer which was fine although rather odd as she had just brought out our drinks and was going back that way. We had our brunch served few minutes later all looked fabulous unfortunately to my disappointment the hash royals I had did not have the smoked salmon which was main reason I’d chosen Everything else was cooked and tasted lovely but for nearly £10 you expect the full recipe I thought I’d just mention to waitress when she came to clear table from previous customers however she never did nor did anyone check if everything was ok. For spending around £80 for 2 children and adults on brunch I feel it didn’t quite reach the standard I expected unfortunately

Husband and I stopped for coffee and cake. The selection of cakes was substantial and flavours that I had not seen before. We enjoyed our coffee and cakes, staff friendly.
