Had some fabulous meals at The Black Swan, Barwick. James the chef definitely knows how to cook! the standard is far superior to ‘pub grub’. Loved the recent Timothy Taylor paired tasting menu, delicious & beautifully presented.

The transformation of the Brasserie and continued excellence of the food has made this into a wonderful dining experience. A sensible choice of starters and main courses. Wonderful wine list at sensible prices offering wide range of well researched wines from around the world.

We ate here before going to the theatre next door, I've been here before but for gigs. Food is amazing, I had the Korean chicken burger and salt and pepper chips, unbelievably tasty. Cannot recommend enough. We shared some onion rings and both remarked they were the best we'd ever had. This would have been a 5 star review were it not for the same issue I've seen in an earlier post - charging the same for a nonalcoholic beer as a normal beer is really not on. Almost £11 for a pint of magners and a zero Guinness.

Noticed the shop in York during our December visit, but did not have chance to make a purchase. However, up visiting family again so was on the top of my wish list this time! Did not regret…the macarons had a slight crisp with the first bite, then into the delicious soft-chewy centre, whilst all being light and airy. All flavours were divine, but would most definitely recommend trying the mojito! Staff were great, told us how to store them correctly and enjoy at their best.

My wife & I visited the cafe after a day in Hornsea & a visit to the Hornsea Freeport before returning home. We were warmly greeted by the young lady behind the counter who took our order. My wife had carrot cake & I had blueberry & banana cake. Both cakes were delicious. Fresh, tasty & a decent portion. My wife had an americano & I had a latte. The coffee was also good. Served hot & a nice taste. The staff were very good, excellent customer service skills & pleasant, chatty & polite

Tuvimos un tiempo fabuloso en el Rustique. Todo fue excepcional. . . . el servicio, la comida, el ambiente. Lo recomendaría encarecidamente y es necesario asegurarse de reservar con mucha antelación, ya que siempre están llenos.

Go early for the best choices, we arrived at 6ish and still had plenty of choices... This an amazing little shop. And they laughed at my joke (I told my son not to knock on the glass or he would scare the cakes) - anyone who can still have a sense of humour after a busy day must be doing something very right.

Lovely old building, quaint Victorian style restaurant, nice atmosphere, but:- 1. very slow amateurish service 2. average quality food 3. top bracket pricing by any standard 4. a discretionary service charge of 12.5% is applied without your discretion Diner beware!

Went here yesterday for an anniversary, absolutely fantastic service and amazing food. Our waiter was one of the kindest people we've ever met and the portion sizes were perfect (even for a midnight snack afterwards 😉). Will definitely come back next time we're in York. Highly recommend for an amazing Indian!

Our local chip van was away one night so we found Paul's Plaice. The food was absolutely delicious. We tried fish, chips, sausages, burgers. Price was pretty much the same as most chippies for the amount we ordered. Wait time was pretty short even though they were busy. The staff were lovely, chatty and friendly. They were really busy so it's not just us that really like this 'plaice'.
