Lovely food and ambience what more can you want. My lamb three ways was a dish that I would certainly enjoy again especially the rolled crispy fat and meat element, very tasty.

Having had many a superb experiences at Highfield House - we decided to book a table for Sunday lunch to celebrate my wife’s birthday - from the moment we arrived until the minute we left the overall experience was enjoyed by all of our family - service impeccable and food equally so. There was nothing to much trouble for the staff and their interaction with my grandchildren made them feel special.

6 of us had an amazing meal at Highfield House last night. We all chose from the set menu and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The owners have decorated it beautifully and the architecture of the building is amazing too. The staff were very good and we will definitely be back very soon . Great asset for Driffield

My granddaughter and I went for afternoon tea, as always, the service was impeccable as was the food. This is not the first time we have had afternoon tea here and I'm quite sure it won't be the last.

We stayed in room 1610, which was absolutely lovely. The décor was beautiful, and everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. However, the overall experience was let down by the service. While the staff were friendly, there were several small but frustrating mistakes throughout our stay. For example, tea and coffee were served without spoons on two occasions, and we had to get up ourselves to track someone down. The sugar pots were also empty and toast on Sunday was cold. We also waited a long time to be seated even though we pre booked the meals. The service was slow and we had to repeatedly ask to be served. These issues may seem minor, but they added up — especially for someone from a hospitality background, where attention to detail is crucial. On Bank Holiday Monday, we were informed that the kitchen had closed unexpectedly, and we had to leave the hotel to find somewhere else to eat, which was disappointing. To make matters worse, we were mistakenly charged for someone else’s meal. I only noticed this when we were already in the car. I had to return to reception to have it corrected — it was eventually refunded, but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. While the staff were kind, the overall service didn’t reflect a high standard, particularly as it wasn’t even a busy period. On Easter Sunday, our stay was further disrupted when a young child ran into our room uninvited. We were both lying on the bed undressed, and understandably, this was incredibly upsetting. We were the only guests on that floor and had not expected to need to lock our door during the day. We reported the incident, and while the staff member did speak to the child’s parents, she downplayed the situation by telling them we weren’t upset — which was not the case. We were very disturbed by it, and the fact that staff were already aware of the children running around unsupervised makes it even more frustrating.

Stayed at The Highfield and breakfast and evening meal was included. Highly recommend, I had the “posh” breakfast, that’s the name, not a description! Best breakfast ever, smoked salmon, pea mayonnaise, spinach and a poached egg. Gorgeous. Even our dogs got a sausage. We had dinner there also, I have an onion intolerance that’s disastrous if I eat anything with onion family in it, and chef on both nights made a seperate sauces for my meal that I could eat. Really lovely.

Came here for mother's day afternoon tea with my mum, sister and son. Staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. From the reservation to the dietary requirements. We loved it, the food was yummy and enjoyed by all. We will be back.

Visited as a group of four, very quiet this evening. It was our second visit in as many weeks and on both occasions can only describe the whole evening as excellent. Service was sufficiently attentive without being over bearing, all of the food served was excellent….all enjoyed 3 courses and could not fault any dish. The good food and service was topped off by an amazing venue, the building is beautiful as are the grounds….one of my favourite restaurants across East Yorkshire….

Fabulous staff, really helpful and friendly. Lovely decor, and a totally relaxing meal in 1864 restaurant. Chose from set menu and alacarte menu....quality food well presented. Chef had no issues with slightly tailoring a recipe for one dish. Would definitely go again.
