Mo and the team are simply the best. Extremely friendly and welcoming. The food is a 10/10 and always consistent. I can highly recommend the garlic chilli chicken and the lamb rogan josh. James and Emma 😁

Best curry I've had in a long while.

Excellent Bengali food with some delicious regional specialities. One of the best "Indian" meals we've had in years. Staff knowledgable and friendly.

Dined last Saturday with friends. The atmosphere was good, the Cobra lager was cold and the food was excellent. I was really hungry and polished off every scrap, including my wifes leftovers!

Despite the food being good, waiting staff being attentive, my lasting impression is the dated decor and smell in the restaurant. The carpet floor is dirty and there was a weird, unclean smell from the chairs. Probably better as a takeaway spot.

Called in Friday night hoping to get a table,waited a few minutes to be seated,service outstanding and food was incredible,perfect spice and heat.Front of house staff were pleasant and helpful.Would highly recommend this restaurant

Food bland and distinct lack of heat or flavour. Service slow. Sat cleaning cutlery etc in a dirty bucket in the restaurant. Will not return. Nan bread was nice.

We went as a family last night to celebrate a birthday, our first time here and the restaurant was so busy, but the food was really good with lots of flavour and the staff were fantastic too. They were very accommodating with allergies too. We all had a really good evening and we are looking forward to coming back! Highly recommend!

Food is good but you a rushed through no sooner had we eaten our starters then immediately the main dishes arrived...I have never been in and out of a restaurant so quick..

No lamb saag Visit the area frequently and first visited this restaurant prior to covid. Had one of the best lamb saag's i had ever had so decided to have again when i recently visited. Not sure if there has been a change in management but all i can say was the food was bland, had 2 pieces of lamb throughout the whole dish and was full to the brim with potatoes. Not impressed and would not go back.

Excellent takeaway, food was prepared quickly and collected piping hot. The curries tasted lovely and the staff were friendly. Prices are reasonable too. Will definitely be returning for another take away in the future.

We booked the Indian for 8 people on a Saturday, I get it is quite busy but we waited 2 hours before getting our mains. People around us arriving 1 hour in had ordered and finished their meals before we even got ours! The Curry was alright wasn't anything amazing Won't be going back here.

If you like real Indian food then there are a lot better places. Coffee machine not working Missed delivery of one starter and came back when the mains were being served with a pathetic excuse. Both mains served in a bland sauce totally lacking in any accoutrements. A jar of supermarket chilli sauce had more life about it. It used to be a great place so not sure what’s gone wrong.

Sadly very disappointing. Our meals lacked interest and taste. The curry was just a puréed sauce with meat no onions, peppers or even a chilli/ coriander over the food Limited menu for allergies service very average. Not a venue to easily recommend

Absolute shambles of a night, went in for a drink just to see the staff as we jave always liked the staff there, and then got accused of stealing a glass which on a previous occasion. The bar man’s terms were “I will give you 2 gin and tonics if you return the glass, as a 60 years old man I find it very humiliating to be accused of stealing a glass a few weeks ago in front of the entire restaurant. 1. slander is a horrible thing. And 2 I have never needed to steal anything let alone a bloody glass so after being humiliated in the place. I then telephoned them to sort things out only to be spoken to like rubbish and the telephone put down on us.

The manager was talking very vulgarly to some customers who were collecting a takeaway, me and my wife couldn’t believe what he was talking about. I asked a waiter if he was the boss and he said yes. That kind of front of house treatment should not be happening, whether he is ‘big’ as he said or not. Will not be going there again!!!

The No.1 curry house in Market Weighton. Been under the same management for about 20 years and certainly hope it will be for many many more.

Absolutely fabulous food from the starters to the main course. Waited for a takeaway so had a G & T and the owner gave us another FOC can’t fault anything about this place from the staff to the food all excellent will be back.

2nd visit and again a very enjoyable meal with friendly staff. The food was very tasty with large portions at a very reasonable price. Drinks also very good prices. You would need to book a table as gets very busy on Saturdays.Excellant.

We used to come here a lot before children came along and drained all our money 🤣. Went for a date night curry, and it was absolutely stunning , delicious food and great service and a few pints of Cobra what's not to be happy about.

My wife and myself ordered our food for take away when we arrived home and opened it up it was a green bean curry and the naan was Black and over cooked the curry we had ordered was a king prawn chilli curry which it certainly not. We rang the Indian restaurant to complain and the manager was very rude,he said he would inform the chef and thats all.we will not go there again and we will also inform all our friends and family not go there.at the end of the day we wanted was an apology but all we received was rudeness, no way to run a buisness

This is our local Indian and it never lets us down. We always start with popadoms, I generally have one of the chicken dishes, my wife is vegetarian. The food is always excellent, and the staff are cheerful, helpful and attentive. The place is well laid out and there always seems to be a good atmosphere. Keep up the good work guys.

Have had many takeaways and have always been very pleased. Last Saturday was our first restaurant visit, with dear friends. From the experience it may well be our our last. Starters were dumped on the table before we were any way near finishing our poppadoms and pickles. At the other end of the meal our main courses were removed far too soon, in fact one guest had not even finished, evidenced by half of her main course still being on the removed warming tray, whilst she was having a smoke outside. Also, during clearing the napkins were summarily "whipped off" the knees of the two women diners without a word. Really!! Two of us ordered a special patil curry, one medium strength and one hotter strength. When they both arrived same strength I reminded the waiter of the order. Mine was taken away to be quickly returned containing uncooked green chillies and sprinkled with coriander. Unbelieveable,!! But not wanting to wait any longer, as others had already got their meals, I reluctantly ate the meal, deciding to raise the matter afterwards. After finishing, I called the waiter to express my utter disappointment with my main course solution, stressing that he and I both knew that adding raw chillies and coriander was not the way to increase the spicyness of a curry. I made it clear to him that I was not seeking a free meal nor, indeed, any discount. The waiter said he "would tell the boss". Nothing further was said and we left, very disappointed. Trevor

Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. Arrived after 9pm as a last minute stop off on the way from Scarborough, but they were happy to squeeze us in. Food was really nice, and for a great price. Staff recommendations were perfect. If you’re in the area, you must pay them a visit.

Just eaten there this evening and the food was fabulous and the service excellent. The waiter took the time to advise us on good combinations for what we wanted and we were very pleased we took his advice. Cannot fault the food or the service. Will definitely recommend to others and will be returning in the future.

A really lovely and delicious meal, so tasty and everything perfectly spiced and served at the right temperature. Staff were very friendly and attentive and helped me chose from the menu. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend.

Due to closures of restaurants/pub kitchens in Market Weighton there are only a couple of places left to have a decent meal out. The other Indian Restaurant has closed recently. This restaurant has always been popular. We didn't book & it was busy at 6pm on a Saturday night, it also produces a lot of take away meals. Friendly staff & good Bengali Indian food. The staff pointed out that booking was advised!

3 friends had takeaway - all different mains - I had Korma fish curry - something didn't seem or taste right with fish texture, the menu said white fish. Subsequently I was ill overnight and following day. Contacted restaurant to advise but no response received....

I have discovered a new favourite curry by going here, which I hope is as good anywhere else because the only thing counting against it is the fact that it is miles and miles from my house. Its a sign of the quality that I went back within a couple of weeks despite this being the case...

Very disappointed. Service very slow not Knowledge of food served. Order my veg curry serve phall, wasn't spicy at all, took back kitchen and wait a long time need to eat alone as my partner finish his small portion, still wasn't phall spicy . In his mix of meat and prawns, just one prawn not fresh one. Starter horrible. Tiger prawns not fresh batter not cooked properly, very small portion, very dissatisfied, not Indian at all. Not recommended

Upon arrival the restaurant was empty (never a good sign). The first course was a pickle tray with poppadoms, the pappadoms were stale and tasted like they had been on the kitchen side for 3 weeks maybe 4 and the tray of dips all tastes...

Walked into the place a lovely warm welcome but the place was empty (not a good sign). Sat down made our order. Pickle tray come out the poppadoms were like cardboard and chewy my plate was not clean disgusting really for a restaurant. Absolute filthy...

I'm rather upset as ive been going here for years. I rang in the order (which I had written down in front of me as always). Collected and paid for get home to realise the order is wrong and missing items. I ring up to be told I'm the one that's wrong while he proceeds to raise his voice louder and louder over me while I'm trying to find out whats gone wrong. For him to then admit he was at fault and make no attempt to fix the problem . For £50 i would expect my order to be correct or at least them offer to rectify the problem. I do not expect to be shouted at over the phone for you to then realise you were wrong.100% will not be coming here again

Four of us had a meal here after a day walking the Yorkshire Wolds Way. Service was very prompt and there is certainly a very extensive menu. We ordered a variety of dishes and all were very tasty. Would definitely be happy to use this...

A wonderful "Indian" restaurant, the best curry dishes I have had anywhere. They do get very busy and service can be a little slow at times but the food is fantastic, well worth waiting for and very reasonably priced. The owners are lovely people; very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

We ate on a weekday so it was quiet but it was lovely, very easy to talk to my partner and our waiter was very efficient. He was quick to serve us and food was fast. We both ate tandoori dishes and they were fantastic....

We have lots of great Indian restaurants in Toronto but I maintain Indian food is always better in the UK. Bengal Brasserie is a case in point.

1st of all I will say is the service was very good but sadly the food not on par! Very bland curry and very expensive...I've made better myself from a ready made sauce. Big shame really

Staying locally so got takeaway rather than sit in. The food was great, very tasty and plenty of it. Tuk Tuk chicken was excellent and the mixed kebab very well cooked. Curries were also very good one of the sauces was thinner than I was used to but very tasty. Will go again.

We were having a break in York and having a really lovely time during an evening stroll we decided to have our meal just from the look of the place. We were welcomed in and treated like royalty we are like the majority of diners we always intend to try something different but at the last second chicken out and have the usual, not here the waiter said may I recommend for you and asked what we usually have then suggested. Well I could not have been more surprised the meals he suggested were some of the tastiest ive have ever had and we will be back next time we are there no question. Get in there you won’t be disappointed I promise you.
