The best restaurants serving French food in St James's City of London, Westminster London

We travel to London at least once a year for a few days visiting restaurants , markets and to take in a show, this trip we dined at Cote restaurant situated beside our hotel in st Martins lane, I know there are lots of Cote restaurants around the country but none in my neck of the woods Northern Ireland mores the pity , the restaurant was really busy but the staff were friendly, fast and professional, there was a fixe price menu 3 courses for an unbelievable £23.50 , normally when you see 3 course menus they are not very good we certainly didn’t expect starters to include Whitebait, Parfait and mains of seafood and Steak frites, the desserts a fabulous chocolate mousse and cheese plate with excellent French cheese without the ubiquitous surcharge, I would definitely recommend Cote restaurant in St Martins Lane I’m sure the others around the country are of similar standards 👍👨🏻‍🍳

We go here quite often and is a nice place. People working here are friendly and polite. Food is good and coffee is pretty decent, defenetly recomand the subscription that takes half of the price off👍. Prices are acceptable. ☕

Lo principal que tiene este restaurante es su ubicación y la decoración interior, que es agradable. Desafortunadamente, eso no fue igualado por el resto de la experiencia gastronómica. El restaurante estaba casi vacío cuando llegamos, así que me decepcionó la larga espera para nuestra comida. Pedí la lubina salvaje con puré. La lubina estaba llena de sabor, pero definitivamente era un poco pequeña por el precio. Sin embargo, el puré era demasiado desigual para mi gusto. También me decepcionaron los diversos cargos adicionales que, según se supo, no fueron transferidos al personal. En general no es el estándar que esperaba para un restaurante que es caro.

Elegí Frenchie debido a la buena relación calidad-precio fijo menú, fuerte marca y ubicación cerca de Covent Garden. Sin el jus desde el principio, el plato de cerdo comprendía un trozo de vientre de cerdo poco sazonado, aunque con una bonita piel crujiente, y un pequeño lado de puerros y manzanas que curiosamente no parecía agregar mucho. Una vez más, en comparación con otros menús pre-teatro que he probado (por ejemplo, Wild Honey, Café Murano) , los principales se presentaron bien pero carecían de profundidad de sabor. Pedimos otra ronda de bebidas al comienzo de nuestro plato principal. Después de haber preguntado varias veces dónde estaban, finalmente llegaron cuando casi habíamos terminado nuestros postres. I took my now wife to this restaurant, and we enjoyed a really lovely evening with exquisite french cooking there. Its such a shame that it has now gone!

Compré a mi esposa la selección navideña Rooibos. Resulta que es el único té que no bebe (¡las manos arriba deberían haberlo sabido! ) pero cuando fuimos a devolverlo el tipo, después de una larga inspección, dijo que era política de la tienda no aceptar devoluciones de té suelto cuando se vende como una caja de regalo! ¿Por qué molestarse con la inspección? De todos modos, a pesar de que no nos dijeron la política de la tienda sobre devoluciones como esta durante la compra, no podíamos molestarnos en discutir con el chico ya que era bastante contundente. CUIDADO SI ESTÁS COMPRANDO SUS LENGÜETAS SELLADAS EN JUEGOS DE REGALO... REALMENTE NO LAS QUIEREN DE VUELTA. Fácil de resolver para la tienda solo tiene que sellar las latas y establecer su política en el punto de venta.

Nice meal with excellent drinks too. We stayed in the St James Ct. which is attached to this restaurant. Decided to try it for dinner. Very nice meal and service was excellent.

Prices are ridiculously overcharged, for a bottle of 15£ they ask you for 55£ and so on, so we asked for some beers, mine was expired, they changed it but don't pay too much attention or apologize, they even include us service charge after that( while service didn't exist at all) So definitely not worthy to visit.

Had a wonderful dining experience at the restaurant today! The food was delicious, and the service provided by Lina was exceptional—professional, friendly, and attentive throughout, which made the meal even more enjoyable. I would definitely come back again :)

Atrocious!! Self service machines do not work and the staff look at you like you’ve got 6 heads if you try and order if them, added to that the toilets are probably the dirtiest that I have ever encountered

Lunch booked for a birthday treat, ordered from the a la cart menu as more choice than the set menu. We had to wait 30 minutes for our starter while tables around us were served their main and dessert . When our main arrived the side order was missing, I had to ask for it and by the time it arrived we were over half way through our meal. The food was excellent but the service was disappointing.

We had a wonderful evening here with excellent service from charming and engaging Staff. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and very well looked after throughout the whole evening. A gorgeous selection of wide ranging food on the Menu and a suitably extensive Wine List to match all served in a vibrant and busy Restaurant. We will definitely return.

Polite staff but there was hardly anything available on the menu so we ended up leaving.
