I came to praise caramel, frankly, it's crazy how sweet it is The coffee is less than normal I tried grilled salmon, the quality of the fish was excellent, but I did not like the sauce The place is crowded and stuffy I recommend you try the caramel 👍🏻

What I did eat eventually was quite nice but not what I wanted. I wanted to eat a salad and no meat as I'm on a restricted diet. I asked if I could have the tuna nicoise with salmon instead of tuna, which I don't like. I have asked the same thing in other côte restaurants with no problem, in fact it has been offered as an alternative before . Here the manager said no! So I asked if I could have salmon bearnaise with some salad instead of chips and the sauce on the side. The salmon duly came sitting in the sauce accompanied by a bowl of tomatoes! I eventually got a green salad, but not until I had finished the fish. It was not a difficult request to put a slice of salmon instead of a slice of tuna on a salad but too much for this particular côte restaurant.

What has happened to Cote? We had a dreadful meal on Tuesday in St Martin's Lane - the food was simply not very nice and they forgot to credit our bill as promised when we complained about the uncooked and truly awful (not) melted camembert (a manager came over and apologised and promised to take it off the bill which didn't happen and we only realised afterwards as we were in a pre-theatre rush). The steak tartare was sinewy and the 'half' chicken was a couple of fried pieces and was like school cafeteria not a West End restaurant. Wish I'd taken photos especially of the chicken. Used to be great, now is a shadow of its former self. We did have a nice waiter though who was charming, but he couldn't make up for the rest of it (low service score was thanks to the manager's reaction to the camembert and the fact we still paid for it).

Visited this restaurant before going to a show in the area. Have dinned at various Cote restaurants and enjoy the food and atmosphere Friendly and welcoming staff and as was not too busy was given choice of table. Service was good, not rushed but friendly and helpful staff Has the the platter of meats for starter - very nice with nice selection of hams and salamis - very enjoyable main was mussels with frites - good portion and very tasty and enjoyed them. Always one of my favs. Followed by a strawberry creme bruille which was very nice. A nice large glass of white wine. A very enjoyable meal in a nice environment and friendly staff. Would go back and recommend. Always good food at which ever Cote restaurant you visit

Went here to celebrate friends 80th. Was bit disappointed that even though I had mentioned it when booking online, there was no acknowledgement of the occasion for her. When we had been to Cote at Sevenoaks previously, they had given us a bottle of free Prosecco. Staff were friendly but thought some of the food portions were small. I started with the bacon salad, the croutons were soft and seemed like they had been soaked in some stock. The baked ratatouille I had seemed very unbaked - it was a shallow dish of tomato sauce, few tiny bits of aubergine, lots of white beans, no sign of onions and then on top, raw courgette slices! Not the best. My friend whose birthday it was had a salad for her main, it was on a side plate and very small. Came away feeling disappointed and not sure I would go back again.

Sadly, the food was dreadful. Three of us ordered a tuna salad and we think that there was no chef on duty as the meagre salad was drenched in dressing and the baby tomatoes had been added randomly-one person had lots, the other just one. And one tiny anchovy tucked under the tuna. Truly awful and a very poor reflection on the restaurant and London too, given the number of tourists in the restaurant

Out with friends, we needed somewhere we could rely on. The Côte in St Martins Lane was the obvious choice, clean, smart, and with quality food that you can rely on, it was an easy choice. Strangely, our waiter reminded us of ‘Ten second Tom’ from the film ‘Fifty first dates.’ We’d ask for something and then, several minutes later, we’d have to ask again. Unusual for a waiter, but he didn’t remember a single thing all night. Which meant we didn’t have a sweet, having him asked us if we were ready to order, and we saying ‘Give us a moment more’, he never came back, and we had simply gone past the need by then and asked for the bill. But we’re not there for waiters. We were there for the good food and wine, and we had that in abundance. I started with the Crab Maison, but in truth tried everyone’s starter - strange. They were all great. I then moved to the Breton Fish Stew, a regular for a Cote, and it didn’t disappoint. Filled with sea fare and really tasty. I added a little tobasco, but it was good as it was. And that was all washed down with the house white which everyone loved. Truth is, I couldn’t try anyone else’s main dish because all the plates were clean come the end, and that speaks reams. We had booked just on the cusp of the theatre goers leaving, so the restaurant was quiet and relaxed. A lovely evening and great meal, and all agreed, we’d had a good day. The Cote Brasserie finished it off for us beautifully. Huge thanks Cotes.

Whitebait was majorly over cooked ( in fact very little fish remaining) The other main meals which I thought should be the same at all branches just wasn’t up to the standard. Wine waiter was good but waiting staff not so. . Also bottled water grossly expensive and warm the wine waiter did however bring us ice in a glass. .would have thought at the very least the whitebait should hve been knocked off the bill

Booked pre theatre supper here a couple of weeks back so was surprised somewhat to be shown downstairs to ‘our table. Yes it was busy as to be expected on a Saturday but not sure what the criteria is to be able to secure a ground floor table. As usual, our food was very agreeable, we had four different main courses, duck, salmon, fish pie and chicken salad. Chocolate fondant and chocolate salted caramel tart for dessert went down a treat. I think the portion sizes are a tad smaller than they used to be but that’s probably not a bad thing. What is a bad thing though is the overcharging on our bill. Two carafes of wine instead of two glasses, made quite a hefty difference. The explanation given was a change the buttons on the till. I have to say our server was effecient, and very polite, he was working mainly on his own and very apologetic when told of the error for which he quickly rectified. We’ve always been great supporters of the Cote chain, but have come away this evening slightly uncomfortable about our experience at St Martins Lane.

Our second visit to a Cote in a week and our first in London. The atmosphere was a bit more hectic than our Cote in Edinburgh and this impacted on service and atmosphere, but fortunately the food/wine was excellent. My partner had the Fish Parmentier which she thought was great, while I had the superb Confit Duck A L'Orange. Both meals were also accompanied by an excellent green salad which really set both meals off. With our meals we both had Longue Roche white wines which also were a great accompaniment to our tasty shared Cheese Board with four cheeses.

To which I replied yes, but when I come in at this time there are always seats so coming in earlier isn't an issue. She then asked me twice if I booked the right venue because she couldn't find my name, I spelt it twice, then without apology said she found it because she was looking at quarter to five even though I said five fifteen. She should be serving steak with the chip she had on her shoulder. Its a disgrace to walk in , do no wrong and be 'greeted with an attitude. I want a reply to this.

The deserts are also very limited in choice so in my opinion is part of the menu I think could be improved. This was the most wonderful dining experience that we’ve had so far in London. Our server, Frank, was amazing and he was so kind. The food was absolutely delicious. For me, the absolute highlight was the way that this restaurant deals with food allergies. They asked me if I had any food allergies as they seated us, and when I replied that I do, they brought over a tablet that listed all of the ingredients used in each recipe, and further broke down the ingredients for the ingredients to the ingredients, for example, all of the ingredients of vegetable stock that they use in their recipes were listed. The impact of this had me so happy, comfortable, and confident that my meal was completely allergen free 😊 highly recommend this restaurant!

Unfortunately, when I tried onion soup, it turned out to contain alcohol I tried the sweet beetroot salad, I loved the beetroot with pistachios The cream is a sweet caramel similar to Almarai cream caramel 😁

We went to the restaurant as a group and we pre-ordered the food. The middle of the tuna was not cooked ,it was raw, even though I mentioned it needed to be well done. I complained about it to one of the waitresses and she brought back the food to the kitchen, so the chef can fix the issue but when I received the fish, it was still not cooked properly.

Difficulty throughout. Greeter couldn’t trace our booking. Inordinate delay in producing tarte tatin. Tarte tatin seems to have deteriorated in quality. Friendly but detached service. Prices still acceptable though.

A Decadent Delight: A Night at Coq d’Argent I'm not one to typically pen reviews, but my recent experience at Coq d’Argent was truly exceptional. For over a decade, I’ve yearned to dine at this iconic establishment, and I can confidently say it was well worth the wait. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with warm hospitality. The service was impeccable, with our server (a gentleman with a kind smile and black-framed glasses) consistently attentive and enthusiastic without being intrusive. The ambiance was sophisticated yet inviting, setting the perfect stage for a memorable evening. The food was the star of the show. The pulpo was tender and flavorful, the lamb shank was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the dessert was simply divine. On a whim, we were even treated to a private tour of the stunning gardens by the friendly security guard, Joseph, who shared fascinating insights into the history of this 26-year-old gem. Coq d’Argent is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience. A must-visit for anyone seeking a truly special evening.

Been away from the City for just about a year and food price went bonkers. Bank card sized festive mille feuill and a latte for £10+, and this Paul certainly is not the most comfortable one in London. Probably my last visit, adieu

Great hospitality and service when I held an event in the downstairs meeting rooms. Sakina and Karthik helped me with everything from technology, all the way through to ensuring the event ran smoothly. The food was delicious and served with great hospitality. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. I would definitely hold future events there again
