Côte Brasserie - St Paul's in City of London, Westminster

We ordered starters from the main menu and then the mains and dessert from the set menu. The starters were really good, but the mains were really disappointing. The portions were small, and it seemed the food was cooked in a hurry even though the restaurant was not busy. The taste was a let down. One of the staff members dropped some ketchup on the floor and didnt even bother to apologise. Overall I would skip this restaurant next time

Everyone was so accommodating and welcoming of myself and my family yesterday at lunch, despite us having some young and rather lively children in our midst! I was so grateful for all the efforts to make our lunch special. Thank you :)

What a lovely spot! They have a separate gluten-free menu and for a light lunch I ordered a beautiful cheese soufflé and green salad with a French 75. Very solicitous service with careful attention to allergies. Great find!

All the staff were very friendly & took good care to advise me about allergy information on menu by giving me a tablet device to check the ingredients of all dishes. Hitesh was very friendly & have good service during our meal. Came back recently & good is still very good with good service. Have had to reduce a star for service as felt rushed. Our main courses were bought out before had finished starter. Would be more professional if they waited for everyone to finish their starter before the mains are prepared & served. I felt like I had to rush the last of my starter so could enjoy main while it was still hot. The speedy service does not make it a relaxing meal experience & needs to be improved.

I am a loyal customer to cote and the experience has been great as always even if my anniversary hasn’t been taken into account and I had mentioned it when making the booking so that has been upsetting, as well as the portions going down a lot. The food quality is amazing still and Florence has been so lovely! She really has made our evening.

We dined here for an anniversary meal. My partner being French, loves a good brasserie… Very polite staff and we were allowed to choose where we could sit. It was busy but not rammed. My partner opted for their set menu, reasonably priced and with good choices on it from main menu. I opted for my favourite starter Chicken Liver parfait. It was very good. My partners onion soup was almost a full meal (see photo) Very well flavoured. Main courses were rib-eye and Minute steak. Both up to par. Remember a minute steak is always small… The only issue was when my partner chose her cheeses for the mini cheeseboard they delivered two she had chosen and then Cantal instead of Comte.. the waitress didn’t/couldn’t understand the issue and the manager had difficulty too! I explained that I was a cheesemonger and my partner is French! Only then did she concede we may be right. I suspect the kitchen had run out of Comte and they rely on people not knowing the difference! 🤓 Apart from this we had a lovely, relaxed and enjoyable evening and I felt it was well priced for what we had. This being modern London we didn’t see a single French member of staff (the cheese issue would have been simply solved) but hey, maybe the staff learnt a little about cheese

Not great. Food took a while to arrive even though the restaurant was almost empty. steak was tepid so sent it back. French onion soup wasn't particularly hot either. One of our party's food was forgotten and came after everybody had finished. No chamomile tea (but lots of other flavours?). Teacup was dirty so swapped it. After all that, no apologies whatsoever and the waitress had the cheek to ask for a review. Well this is it.

French brasseire feel on point with the brand. Good avocado toast and coffee. Courteous staff, but very slow service. Might take almost an hour to have breakfast and some chasing to get the bill - that if you're in a business mode might be not ideal.

The atmosphere at this restaurant was incredibly cozy and inviting. I had the pork belly, and it was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside and tender inside. The sirloin was also excellent, full of flavor and cooked just right. The overall experience was fantastic, with great food and a warm ambiance. Definitely a place worth visiting!

Situated extremely close to St Paul’s Cathedral in London, this Cote restaurant is highly recommended. Apart from the perfect location, the standard of food was truly outstanding. A great ambience - very relaxing in addition to the excellent service from all the staff. This restaurant is a perfect place for lunch or dinner and the prices for this part of London are extremely reasonable. Highly recommended!

The waitress (from Poland, because as we were leaving, she started swearing in Polish) was obviously not happy that we came to eat. We ordered burgers, they were tragic, the meat was as rubbery as the sole of a shoe. No draft beer. Go around this place.

Standards have dropped. The Poulet Breton was amazing a few years ago, tender and excellent portion. You now get a tiny portion of dry overcooked chicken and very sad looking potatoes. Price has rocketed up too so there’s no real excuse in terms of ingredient costs, just sloppiness. A real shame.

Food was good, service good. They only take card payments, no cash which is disappointing.

Service with a smile, regular check-ins ensuring we were okay and enjoying our meal. Our preference for a different fruit with our crepe was happily met. The food was beyond expectation, flavourful, simply delicious. It's a busy restaurant but does not feel crowded and uncomfortable.

Cote used to feel quite a premium place to go but now just seems v lacklustre. The huge plastic buckets of tomato ketchup, mayo and mustard in view of the diners is poor. Just leave them in the kitchen! Felt like a sad place to eat. The ribeye was ok, not the best but also not the worst.

It was correct. The dishes we ordered were good with an average price of 18 pounds. The bill could have gone up because the alcoholic drinks were priced above the average I have seen in London.

Absolutely first rate, three course lunch today, Christmas Eve. Every aspect of each of the courses was exceptional. Service was friendly and prompt but never rushed. Will definitely return and will seek out other Cote restaurants across the country.

We had a great meal last night . Started with fougasse and wine. Not rushed to place main order . We only had mains . Steak and chicken. Both very good . The whole meal was great and I would like to thank our waitress Florence especially. She is a ray of sunshine and is was lovely chatting with her and her attention was perfect .

We were 4 people, ate different things; none of us felt satisfied with good. Plates were messy, food was far from impressing. Service was not good, we repeated our requests multiple times. I can say, a mediocre option in the town.

Oh man. I was in the mood for French food and decided to try this place. What a letdown. I ordered the French onion soup and a chicken dish. My first impression of the place was that it was old and dirty. But I was really grateful that they could seat me without a reservation. The food took between 15 and 20 minutes to arrive for an appetizer, which is really long. I took one bite of the French onion soup and knew I had to leave. And I did. The onion soup was really bad. So salty, not a natural beef broth flavor. Suuuuuuuper disappointing. I didn’t eat anything else after that. I asked them to pack my food, which they kindly did. And I will give it away. To be fair, I did not try my entrée, so I don’t know how that would’ve been. My server was also nice and accommodating. I also went to the restroom to wash my hands and it smelled horrible as soon as you go down the stairs and head into the hallway. I also heard the hostess, talking to a server really loudly, almost reprimanding him in front of everyone. I understand you need to train people, but you can still be respectful to those who are busboys. I also heard her talking about how a guest asked for a recommendation of what to get and she said “of course I did, upsell!’ So bad. I wish the restaurant the best, but I definitely think there are some things to work on to bring back the elegance and quality of this place.

Enjoyed a fantastic dinner for two at Côte, choosing the Christmas menu which was beautifully crafted and full of festive flavors. Robyn, our server, went above and beyond, pairing each course with the perfect wine to enhance the experience. Exceptional food, warm ambiance, and impeccable service—highly recommend!

We had an excellent brunch with a view of St Paul's Cathedral. The staff is pleasant and we ate poached eggs in their avocado toast version or royal version, with a coffee and a juice each for £35.

The Broccoli Salad in Olive Oil and the Drunken Chicken with some smooth Cidre!

There were free tables and despite our reservation we were not given a table.

The staff were great despite being overwhelmed by a large influx of people that came in from a nearby event at St Paul's. Because of this I didn't mind the slight delay and even though the wait time wasn't significant we were given two complimentary cocktails. Also, i arrived a little early for my reservation due to said crowd and I was given a nice corner table which I appreciated. Will definitely go again.

The food is very poor, the burger was dry and hard. Lemonade is tap water with lemon. The atmosphere was shitty. Noisy and dirty. Expensive prices and poor and old food. Only the location was good.

A very small party went here on a week night, they were very busy with office parties but they were still very attentive to us, the staff were very helpful and friendly and we didn’t eat off the set or festive menu but our food was still lovely. 3 happy customers. Our server Joanna was lovely.

Wanted to love this place. Sadly, I had to wait over 40 mins to have my order taken. The waiter was rude. The food was ok, overall salted, and the restaurant itself was dirty with visible slashes in the seats and dirt and dust everywhere. Every piece of cutlery and plate/cups had caked food on it. Very disappointing overall.

Update on 22 November (1.42pm) Truly disappointed with the service, spent 1-ish hour waiting and food is not served. In the end, we have to cancel the food order and leave the restaurant. Amazing, helpful and friendly staff and fabulous gluten free menu and really made provision for coeliacs. Really recommend.

The food was decent, though I found a large tendon in my meat. When the waitress asked how everything was and I mentioned it, she simply said ‘sorry’ and walked away, which made me wonder why she asked in the first place. The restaurant was quite loud. the food and service were delivered promptly.

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Cote. We waited an unusually long time for our mains to arrive, to the point where another member of staff mistakenly brought us the dessert menu before we had even been served our mains. When the food finally arrived, I discovered halfway through eating that my dish, which was supposed to be vegan, contained sausage. This is a serious mistake for anyone with dietary restrictions. While the staff apologised and offered a replacement, we'd been in the restaurant for so long that we just wanted to leave. They did offer complimentary dessert or coffee as compensation, but by that point, we were already frustrated and declined. To make matters worse, the incorrect meal was still included on the bill, and we had to ask for it to be removed. Even after that, the service charge was left on, despite the poor service and delays. Mistakes happen, but the overall experience was mishandled from start to finish. As someone who expected a vegan-friendly and efficient dining experience, this was incredibly disappointing, and I won’t be returning.

Although we had a problem with our meal, it was resolved in an excellent manner. We are regulars at Cote and we will continue to be based on the meal we had and the attentiveness and competence of the staff - the latter point I would say is what sets Cote apart from many other restaurants.

Very friendly staff, lovely food and warm atmosphere. Best Côte in London and one of my favourite places here. Too bad the ratatouille with goat cheese is not on the menu anymore cause that was superb.

Good food as always from Côte. Was seated near the front door. Asked to be moved as back of restaurant looked empty. Told 2 tables of 7 and 8 booked. Hour and a half later all tables still empty. When ordering wine asked if we wanted water. Replied two would be ok. When bill came charge for bottle of water added. Felt it was sneaky and not transparent. Always enjoy Cote and visit at least 5 regularly across London but won’t be returning here.

I do not recommend this. Ordered a minute steak, wasn’t able to cut through it. Like rubber. Salad was tasteless. It tasted like they put some mayo and soured cream together and tossed the salad in it. Apparently there was a chef issue. They brought me another steak. It was dry. They should take this off the menu. It’s a cheap steak but it can’t really hit the mark of being cooked properly because of the thinness. The server told me there was an issue with a chef in training. This was a disappointment and it was sad I could have actually had a great meal elsewhere. They need a proper chef here. The location is great, so close to St Paul’s Cathedral. The fries were decent 7/10. They felt bad and brought me a second order of fries. They are trying but the food needs a boost.

Sat for 20 mins. Asked 3 times for to order whilst they kept cleaning other tables. Place was empty. Staff when we actually spoke to them were rude. Don’t bother.

The duck confit is good but I wish the duck skin is more crispy and more sauces. For the tuna steak are good combination but for the chicken liver I think the baguette can be better to compliment the taste of the liver. Overall still amazing for this restaurant

Abominable service, have been waiting half an hour for coffee which was served after prompting. Have also asked for a jag of water which never arrived. Not many people to serve therefore no excuse of being busy.

I would have given 4 starts overall , I f it wasn’t for the waiter extreme ruthlessness. When a couple of us - guest- have a question about a duplicate charge line on the receipt- not because of a duplicate receipt. This waiter- no name long blonde hair working in Oct 1 at 5pm. Respond us with “I could give you as many receipt copy as I want “ and providing a 3 er unnecessary copy …wow!!! not only jumping to say it aggressively, but missing the question all together. Surprised us negatively for sure. Definitely not the usual educated British demeanor we tourism appreciate :(

If you haven’t discovered this amazing restaurant chain do not wait running to the next one in a town near you. The food is always fantastic and the staff lovely. Each location is elegant and unique so some are large and spacious whereas London St Paul’s is more quaint. Do book so you can be seated quickly x

Delicious quick coffee stop of Americana. Our first taste of London morning beverages. We had a quant table with a street view of this part of the city.

This is definitely the bast Core restaurant we have visited in London. Some have not been very good, but this one is definitely the best. The staff were excellent, and were very helpful without being obtrusive; the choice of food was good, and unlike the previous cote we discovered, it was hot (ie not been sitting around before being brought), and the portions were much better than elsewhere. We cannot be more effusive about our experience!

Just popped into this restaurant after the tour at St Paul cathedral. My family are all very satisfied and happy with the meal. Though we didn’t have reservation and ended up sitting at the table outside. It is a fantastic experience with the view of St Paul Cathedral while eating. Staff are superb and friendly. Food are amazingly good! Highly recommended the confit duck and onion soup.

Good food and service, but a bit pricey

Sat there waiting for the waiter for about 15 min before getting up and leaving. The place wasn’t crowded or anything either.

The food was excellent —I had avocado on toast with poached eggs. With it being dog-friendly outside is a big plus, making it a great spot to relax in summer. However, service was a bit slow, and my coffee arrived a tad cold. Despite that, it's a solid choice for breakfast!!

Just be careful when you order a non alcoholic drink as they served me an alcoholic drink

We booked here for breakfast on 25/08 it started off fine and as the sun was shinning we decided to sit outside however then we realised that it was a stop for the tour buses infront of where we were eating and with the engines running you got the fumes constantly. We ordered the english breakfast and i asked for poached eggs, when it arrived my eggs were hard boiled and so small they looked like quail eggs and only the yolks no egg white to be seen. I sent it back and then recieved my breakfast back after my original eggs had been scraped off and was told the eggs would be ready soon however they arrived just as i was finishing the breakfast and again they were hard boiled. No one came to check if they were ok and tbh i couldn't hang around waiting for them to be cooked again ( so disappointing). When we paid the bill they charged me for 2 lots of poached eggs which was then rectified when we explained about the original ones getting sent back. All in all the quality was very bad and the quantity even worse. The atmosphere was not welcoming and when i used the toilets i had to go to the depths of beyond and wade through queues of people who i believe were hotel guests queueing up for a buffet breakfast, it all looked very school canteen with a dash of chaos. The toilets were very dingy and smelly. Not a great experience with Cote brasserie and the breakfast was definitely not worth what we paid.

I was with my friends for dinner there. We ordered Onion Soup and Steak Rib-eye 👍The French Onion Soup was creamy and delicious. One of the best onion soups I ever tried. 👎The Rib Eye Steak wasn’t good. Because even though it was rare or medium it wasn’t juicy and it Didn’t have taste of stake at all. And the souse (garlic and butter) wasn’t tasty as well. 👉The Confit Duck A L’Orange was also ok, because it doesn’t have reach taste like it has to be, and the meat is so crazy soft (strange) (was softer then even chicken). Good duck doesn’t have to be that soft. 👉 Baked Ratatouille was ok. Wasn’t enough taste of vegetables or so. A bit tasteless as the rib Eye stake. 👍The Creme Caramel it was the only really tasty dish (dessert)😜 👍 The Creme Caramel Royal was also good but as for me and my friends not so good as one above ☝️ 📌All the dishes looked amazing and tasty like 5* but when you eat them it’s like 3* Especially for such a nice place in such a cool area 😶The staff could be more friendly, smile and paid more attention to the customers. We came at 6 pm, and there was not too crowded and we got our food just in 1 hour😓, And as we are tourists, as we noticed, the staff served faster for British people than for us and others who were also around us..

Reunión de amigos para el almuerzo en el centro de Londres, este lugar nos fue recomendado. Estuvo a la altura de la recomendación y más. Primero es una gran ubicación, el personal era eficiente y acogedor. La comida era muy buena. Recomiendo la sopa de cebolla francesa y mejillones, pero opta por la tabla de quesos compartida, diez variedades, gran selección de galletas saladas también. Un buen establecimiento de precio medio. Realmente disfrutamos.

Hearty breakfast with possibility of the traditional English breakfast a stone's throw from Saint Paul Cathedral

A la llegada no tenían registro de mi reserva en línea y sugirió que tenía el restaurante equivocado, sin embargo, tenía una impresión como prueba. Realmente no importaba porque el restraunt era casi emply con solo 3 o 4 mesas tomadas a las 6 : 30 un sábado por la noche. Debido a su ubicación sospecho que la mayor parte de su comercio es durante la semana en que las muchas oficinas de abogados locales están abiertas y los tribunales de justicia están en funcionamiento. Hemos comido en muchos restaurantes diferentes Cote y este era bastante típico - comida de buen nivel y un servicio rápido y eficiente. Nuestros entrantes de calamares y vieiras eran muy buenos. Como principal tenía un bretón perfecto con salsa y patatas asadas, esto parece ser un elemento básico en Cote y siempre se puede confiar en él.

Had the confit duck a l'orange and it was absolutely superb. Truffle chips perfectly crisp, a great baked brie and tomato appetizer as well. Service was spot on. Really no complaints.

It is always a pleasure to eat in these restaurants. We have visited many across the UK over many years. The personnel is very kind and professional. They also pay attention to detail and they are very careful with any allergies.
