My first time at Les Associes and I'll happily come back. We had a fantastic experience there: the atmosphere is very cosy, the food is exquisite and the service is great. The owner is very friendly and goes the extra mile to make you enjoy the meal. Unlike many French places in London serving pretentious food that is not even French, this place does fulfil its promise, it's a little gem in Crouch end.

The French Patisserie at Saveurs is incredible, with delicious cakes, coffee and bread; highly recommend! We had coffee and raspberry chocolate browny; wow, wow wow! We also had pear flan with amazing buttery pastry; so good. Its difficult if you are just visiting, so we took away more delicious patisserie for later

We stayed at Whatley Manor for 2 nights in December 2004, it is an excellent hotel in a period building, which means that it is not possible to install air conditioning. This is the second time that we have stayed there the previous time being about ten years ago at the edge of the season. At that time we found that the heat of the bedroom was unbearable, after complaining they did install a portable unit which was hopelessly inadequate. So this time we chose December as it would be a cold month with the airconditioning not being an issue. How wrong we were, my wife can't sleep if she is sweltering so she got very little sleep, I managed but was not comfortable despite it being cold outside. The staff were excellent no issues with them at all, Greys restaurant was awful I gave it one star on tripadvisor but would have given it a fraction of a star if it had been available. However the michelin restaurant and staff were excellent. The rooms are very comfortable. I would recommend it providing that you go in the winter or are able to sleep in such heat. It has the atmosphere of the F Dorchester or Ritz in London, we have stayed at all the top hotels in London and it compares on a par with those nearly, not quite. I can't imagine the restaurants in either of those hotels or Claridges or the Lanesborough serving up the rubbish that we were served with at the Greys restaurant at Whatley. IF we go again we will just eat at the michelin restaurant, but there are plenty of other better places to stay in the area, Raymond Blanc's Manoir for instance.

My wife and I dined at the Angelus on Friday 20th Aug 2021. The restaurant is one minute from the Royal Lancaster hotel and also Lancaster Gate underground. We had starter and main course and were so full we could only share a pudding. My starter was butternut soup and my wife had the scallops, both with traditional baguette and both very tasty. For mains we opted for the boeuf bourguignon which was fantastic: lots of tender beef, vegetables firm and not cooked to a pulp, and a lovely rich gravy. For sweet we shared Pear Belle Helene, pear with chocolate sauce and caramel ice-cream, again beautifully cooked and presented. The wine list was extensive and we selected a bottle of Crozes-Hermitage which went particularly well with the main course. This is my 1st ever Trip advisor review, but I felt I just had to share this 'secret' restaurant. The whole meal was absolutely delicious with attentive service throughout. The pub itself used to be frequented by Churchill before closing, so nice to see the building retained and still full of character. We can't wait for an excuse to go back!

Wow what can i say, this is the first time coming here as we were visiting my parents who have recently moved here so they treated us to a meal for my birthday. The food and service was by far a 10 out of 10. All freshly cooked food and decent portions for the price too. I had the Sticky Chicken for starters 🤤🤤and a Chicken, Ham and Leek Pie for main course which was well filled. I loved the deco and how comfortable the crushed velvet chairs were which made it even more comfy. The whole place was clean and inviting to everyone. All the staff we were in contact with with so bubbly and friendly, especially the owner? Who took our order and the lady who waited on us too. The only niggle for me was i was to hot but thats personal preference as im never cold and was sittinf by a radiator. Such a lovely pub its a shame its going to be closing ☹️
