Barton Bangla Brasserie in Preston

We came here as a family on Thursday evening as we were staying at a local caravan park & we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely spot on. I had read previous reviews which were all positive so I had high expectations. I must admit it doesn’t look the best from the outdoors could do with abit of a paint an TLC however that aside, I’ve never had a better curry! We opted for the railway lamb dish which was one of their chef specials & it was one of, if not the best curry we had ever tasted! Plenty of meat to our surprise an very tasty. Cannot wait to return when we are back down there. Manager also really friendly & welcoming. 5/5 very well deserved

Visited Barton Bangla with a bunch of work colleagues. From the moment we all arrived we were made to feel welcome. Even though there was a lot of us all the food arrived promptly and piping hot. Service was exceptional, food exceptional. Will definitely be back(as a smaller party)

From the moment we stepped in the door there was a sincere welcome we we're sat at a table and offered drinks while handed a menu to choice from were knew what starters we wanted but the mains they were amazing asked us what heat spice and ingredient we liked then absolutely made amazing meals most definitely the best Indian I've ever had 100%

We had an excellent meal here tonight with amazingly knowledgeable guidance and detail. I learned more about Indian cooking tonight than I have ever got near to at any other Indian restaurant. The personal service was exceptional and the food amazing. After saying what I liked I was recommended the Railway Lamb and told how it was prepared and cooked, and it was so appropriate for my taste in curries. The rice and nan bread also very good and good portions. We will most certainly be back again, thank you.

We’ve eaten in and had take aways a great many times from Bangla over the years and they have honestly never disappointed. We went last night with friends who have also become repeat customers. Food, service, atmosphere, value, menu choice all fantastic. There is no finer Indian restaurant around.

Yet another brilliant meal at the hands of Afi and Ali. I look forward to our visits back up north and always make sure it includes a visit to Barton Bangla so that we can visit this lovely gem of a restaurant up North. Living in Devon, I miss the authenticity that this restaurant and its owners provide, its just not there in the South West. We have noticed that when we have been back up North that Barton Bangla is getting more and more busy. This is lovely to see, as regular visitors of the last 10-15 years we have seen the struggles that the guys have had getting this place to where it is now and love to see its now paying off. We applaud you, you deserve this and we love to see your place so busy. Dont worry... we will be bothering you for many years when we visit 'home' in the North.

. We were enjoying a week's break in the Scorton area and made a reservation at this restaurant for an evening meal. The food was amazing - so flavourable and spicy (without being too hot). The choice on the menu was fantastic. The staff were courteous and friendly. If it wasn't for the fact that we live near Cardiff, we would frequent this restaurant again and again.

Just been yet again for my birthday and it's always top top notch. Highly recommended for everyone, great food and great prices.

We have just finished an outstanding take away meal from Barton Bangla.Ordered online with a bonus discount applied. The standard starters of poppadom, chutneys, onion bhajis and a chilli paneer side dish were all excellent.Classic mains of Korma and Jalfrezi with pilau & chilli rice dishes, hot in temperature and really tasty.I cannot complain at all about any of the meal or the ordering experience. A new restaurant opened locally at the point of lockdown but it doesn’t come close to the standard / quality of food BBB offers. Highly recommended No photos as I was too busy eating it

We fancied a big fat delicious curry and we were certainly looked after. We are vegan so we got the personal touch with curries tailored to what we liked. Lovely atmosphere; popadoms, pickles, delicious food and full bellies. Perfect. 😊

Very good!!!First visited here in July 20 and was blown away with the intense flavours of the dishes.....and had to go back again yesterday.....not let down!Extra garlic in the tikka masala was not a problem...great breads and attention to detail!!Food is very rich, so don’t order too much!!Will be back!!

Me and my partner has once again been to BBB for our Sunday evening meal, and once again it was awesome. We have been going now for numerous years, so may be bias, however in all those years we have never had a bad meal.We now don't collect a menu as the owners , Ali and Affi know what we like and make our meal Accordingly.Would recommend

On arrival, having booked, it seemed a little chaotic, but we were offered drinks while we waited and didn’t have to wait too long to be seated at our table. The staff were very busy but our order was taken quickly. We did have to ask again for extra drinks but the food arrived promptly. It was delicious. I’m not sure they got the bill exactly right, but, it was cheap enough and we would definitely return to try some other dishes.

I ate here years ago and don’t recall anything about the restaurant so this review is based on what must be considered a first visit.I went with two mates. We had a few beers in Garstang and then got a lift to Barton Bangla. The restaurant was very busy with the deal ‘Eat out to help out’ clearly helping boost an early Tuesday night’s business. We are all active fellas and have healthy appetites and so we ordered a set menu for 4. A bargain at the discounted rate.The usual poppadom and chutney were served followed by a plate of four different small starters. Then the mains, five dishes of various flavour and spicy heat.This meal was excellent. All dishes were served hot (in temperature) and the spice variety suited our three different palates.We ate the lot and agreed that if we’d gone another day we would have paid the £75, set menu (4) price without issue. With the busy restaurant there was a great atmosphere and although the staff were very busy they were attentive, helpful and engaging.We had no delays in receiving drinks, courses or an extra naan bread!I have one slight criticism of the poppadom being slightly ‘flexible’ only slightly but noticeable. They were fine to eat but I would prefer a more crisp break but I’m being picky to find any criticism.There were families, couples and groups dining and it all added to a great few hours, topped with what I would describe as a fantastic meal.I can safely say that I will recall this visit and the whole experience was great. I have no hesitation in recommending Barton Bangla and I am looking forward to going back.

Disappointed with the restaurant experience. Food was ok but some of the waiters gave the impression they didn’t want to be there and with some wearing their face coverings under their chin. Worst bit was receiving a drink with a humongous spider in it. The drinks were knocked off the bill in fairness but the glass had clearly just been taken off the shelf and not checked. Have had takeaways from here loads of times but we wouldn’t rush back to eat in the restaurant.

We had a meal last night, everything was really delicious, the staff were as lovely as ever. So good to be back.

Lockdown and Coronavirus has us all frustrated and outside our comfort zones, and we are no different to countless millions of others, longing for a bit of normality. And so when Ali and the crew announced they were able to provide take aways safely for all concerned, we were delighted. Chose our favourites on the phone, given our order number and time of collection, and paid on pickup! Food to the usual high standard, and a lovely touch of normality enjoying our favourites at home with a good bottle of wine. Would recommend as a nice treat to enjoy in these troubled times!!!Thank you Barton Bangala

This was my first visit and I was totally blown away with this place. I had the mango curry (bit of a spice-wimp) and I couldn't down it quick enough. Coupled with our lovely, attentive waiter and beautifully decorated surroundings, our sneaky midweek treat was perfect! My partner used to be a chef and is a proper foodie and wont go anywhere else for a curry.

Whether it be takeaway or dine in, the food and the service are always excellent here. There is a great menu and the staff are always very friendly.

New to area and eating out regularly. Had to join TripAdvisor to leave a review for this place. Chipped plates and out of my starter and main cutlery set not a single fork or knife matched. Poor, couldn't give a damn service. Bland food. Chewy lamb and stale poppodums. After we paid we were then asked how our meal was as they really couldn't give a damn when we said disappointing. AVOID

tried here on the off chance ,wish i hadn't bothered,poor quality,poor service and expensive for what you get, certainly won't be coming back,avoid,save yourself some money and get a Tesco take away ready meal,£8,better quality and certainly better value,not amused

We have been a few times and the food has never put us off but never made us eager to return. Our last visit we had 3 drinks between us, poppadoms, two mains, a kid's meal and a nanna and the bill came to over £50. The food was ok, but I felt over charged.

Been coming here over 5 years and is consistently amazing. Staff are great, price is reasonable and the food is awesome. Can’t rate this place highly enough. It’s good if your in the area but it’s also worth driving out to. Easily my favourite Indian restaurant.

I don't think it is acceptable to have to wait more than 90 minutes for a 'takeaway' when you have already phoned the order in.. and waiting patiently does you no good .. because you have to constantly remind them that you are there, waiting, to receive a series of meaningless promises about the likely arrival time of your food.. which came eventually with an insincere and embarrassed "sorry for the wait".. and I can't say that it was worth the wait since the food when it finally arrived was simply appalling.. all the pappadum were broken, there was a hair in the raita, the 'tandoori king prawns' were unrecognisable.. and nothing was even warm, never mind hot.. after a brilliant first experience of the food at this restaurant, some years ago, it has steadily got worse.. I have foolishly kept giving it another chance.. but no more.. I won't be going there ever again...

Off the cuff visit on a long journey home, located only 5 miles off the M6 motorway.

Staying in the area for a couple of nights and needed dinner. We didn’t have a reservation, but arrived early about 6ish. Staff were very friendly, veggie samosas were very tasty and the main of spicy salmon was amazing, although it didn’t look very appetising, however the taste was out of this world; it could've done with something else with it, I ordered rice, but it didn’t arrive when I asked for it I was eventually given half a portion, but charged for full.

I can’t comment on the food as we ended up walking out.

We went along to this restaurant on Friday as a party of 4 and what an amazing place this really is. The food was outstanding and the price was very reasonable. The service was a little slow in the beginning but after chatting to the manager he now knows the little problems that need ironing out. They do takeaway but its much nicer to eat inside. If your in the area well worth a visit.

Visited early Sunday evening, restaurant was busy, really nice atmosphere. Waiters really really friendly and professional.

Our 30th wedding anniversary and we chose the Barton Bangla restaurant, was very quiet (but it was Monday) but wow the food was delicious and how helpful were the staff a fantastic all round experience, being a regular Indian eater I like to think I can appreciate a good Indian restaurant from the not so good and I have to say this is right up there, if you choose here you won’t be disappointed thanks for the help in choosing something different.

I came here as part of a group of 5 for a family meal. I am coeliac, but most Indian food is naturally gluten-free. Nonetheless, I checked the website - which clearly stated there were g-f options. On arrival, I asked which meals on the menu were g-f. I was told that although many were, they could not cater for me as the kitchen was too small to prevent cross-contamination. The chef was very rude, and I was shocked to be spoken to in this way in a restaurant. He then proceeded to check his spice collection, and told me that every single one was a ‘may contain’ for gluten. There was therefore not a single thing that I could have - something I have never experienced before when eating out. After sitting for well over an hour, my family ordered take-away as I could not be catered for. This was an anniversary meal, and a disappointing and upsetting experience.

We visited this restaurant last night after watching a football match. We got there quite late and there was only one other table in. This is often not a good sign. We need not have worried. The service and food was excellent, very good portions on hot plates and attentive staff. We will be back. Thank you

Recently moved into the area and made this excellent discovery. The food is high quality and the service is friendly and attentive. Cannot fault the chilli paneer puri starter, unique and delicious. We try and try different main meals but more to date have stuck with the balti and karahi dishes, both of which are fantastic. Chef knows what he’s doing. Cobra and Kingfisher both available. Will keep on returning.

My wife and I were staying at a nearby hotel and fancied eating elsewhere. Saw the restaurant adjacent to the main road and popped in off speck at 6pm. A gentleman collecting his take away spoke very highly of the restaurant and we were quickly attended to. Alex, who appeared to be the main man, could not have been more helpful with menu descriptions (even though we are both Indian junkies), and our ordered food was served in good time. It was excellent, plentiful, hot and tasty. The decor needs some attention, the furniture could be smarter, the general cleanliness leaves a little to be desired. By absolute coincidence, my wife and I were invited to meet friends at the restaurant the following evening, which we agreed to quickly. Once more an enjoyable meal. On both occasions, by the time that we left the restaurant was full. Highly recommended.

The service was very poor indeed. The walls by our table were splattered with food. The food was average (just) and not served over hot-plates, so became very cold quickly. We were very disappointed with our visit and would not return. We would not usually leave a poor review but disappointment is such that we feel it is merited.

Myself and my dad needed to meet somewhere an equal distance between our homes for a catch up and some food. Friends suggested Barton Bangla. We are so Glad we listened now, from being greeted at the door to being sat down at the table service was impeccable. Food ,drinks and service was spot on. Part of a group of 13 golfers staying at a hotel a few miles away. The restaurant served up a fantastic meal. The staff were really great and when we couldn’t get taxis late on a Friday to take us back to our hotel, the staff volunteered to drive us. Fantastic meal and service. Visited this weekend on a not too busy Saturday late afternoon. I am not one to complain but food was let down by poor service. Naan bread never came and was taken off bill but it seemed like it was just too much hard work to chase kitchen for it. I dont want waiter constantly asking if everything OK but once would be nice so the naan could have been brought to us.

When my two sisters and myself turned up to celebrate their birthdays on a quiet Wednesday evening, I don't think Ali and his team were ready for what was comng! Ali soon found out that his chef had to cater for a vegan, a veggie who was intolerant to bell peppers and nuts and a meat eater who was also intolerant to bell peppers! He calmly sat down and joined us and clearly explained that the majority of Bangladeshi curries had a base gravy that contained bell peppers. He then went above and beyond to write down all our likes, dislikes and intolerances, to create three separate meals that were not on the menu! Secretly, I think he enjoyed the challenge!

Visited with my son. There's a few things I could mention if I was being finicky but overall it was delicious food, and that's what matters for me.

Excellent meal here last week , stayed at the Barton Grange hotel for weekend and decided to have a walk up to the brasseie for our favourite food , excellent service , excellent food , we couldnt fault it in anyway . Well reccomended .

This is little gem on the A6, fabulous food and service. I had onion bhaji and partner mixed kebab really tasty then I had chicken tikka madras and garlic naan and partner Ghaffoori king prawns and garlic rice too die for definitely worth a visit this is my second visit will always come here when in the area

Our first visit to this restaurant, good selection and good fair prices. The service was not the fastest but we didn't go for fast food . When the food came it was fantastic, very tasty and good portions. The only reason I didn't give 5 out of 5 was the fact that I was served my rice in a bowl which had 3 huge chips in it . This I find inexcusable. We will visit again as the food spoke for itself . Thank you

Visited again with my wife and son for a Mother's Day meal, and again Ali and his crew came up with the goods. All meals were delicious and of the usual high standard. I particularly liked the new traditional biryani they have on the menu, excellent!! Was really busy, but standard maintained. Will be certainly returning in the near future.

We have been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Great menu with lots of choice.

We ordered a takeaway for 8 people early on a Saturday evening and were told it would be 35 minutes until the food was ready. We arrived to collect at the time specified and then proceeded to be kept waiting for an additional 40 minutes. The staff didn’t keep us updated, didn’t apologize and when we asked how much longer it would be they were disinterested and very rude in their responses. It was clear to me that they hadn’t even started to make our food before our collection time. The food itself is reasonably tasty however after a number of long waits I won’t be ordering from them again.

Decided to frequent this venue when visiting the area with a group of friends and had spotted the rave reviews. Well we weren’t disappointed. It can be hard to meet the needs of a group of eight guys but these guys managed it. They also gave us a lift back to our hotel as the local taxi service is a little sparse. Well done guys!!!

The food here is amazing!! The best we’ve ever tried and we’ve eaten in quite a few Indian restaurants in the past. Lots of choice and each meal was perfect. I wish we lived closer. We will definitely visit again-soon.

I read some of the other reviews on TA and thought I must have the wrong Bangla.

My husband cannot eat green,yellow or red peppers. They wont make him seriously ill but very unwell. We asked if they could accomodate this intollerance upon arrival and were told ‘yes’. It soon became clear that all their sauces contain peppers and are made in large (50 litre) batches. They coulldn’t grasp that because itvwas liquidised and not in chunks that he still couldn’t eat it. We haven’t had this issue in other Indian restaurants but were told in no uncertain terms that all other Indian restaurants pre make their sauce containing peppers. Lecture not appreciated.

First visit to this establishment enjoyed the food and ambient atmosphere. Good service.liked the Conservatory.

We live local and normally opt for a takeaway, but decided to dine in on this occasion. Ali helped us select a suitable selection of items for our party of 9. He even threw in a special mild chicken curry to intice my daughter into trying something different to her usual scampi option.

We’ve been coming here for years and I have to say it’s the most consistently excellent Indian (Bangladeshi) food you’ll ever taste. A warm welcome always awaits! You must give it a try.

Visited last night for a meal with friends. Food was good as was the service although it lacked atmosphere. A little quiet for a Saturday night but it is a bit off the beaten track. It’s worth a visit if you are a curry fan. I would recommend the Handi special and garlic prawns

We recently ordered takeaway from Barton Bangla Brasserie for a group of friends who were visiting, however we were disappointed to find that the rice was missing with only one in the bag. We had to drive back to the restaurant to collect the correct rice, and the rest of the meal was nice. Despite this inconvenience, this evening we tried the takeaway again, thinking that the previous experience was a one-off.

Visited tonight for the early bird meal. 3 courses for £10.95. The food and service were both outstanding. Bhajis were piping hot, delicious and large portion. Chicken tandoori was the best I've ever had. Partner had biriyani and said the same. Nothing is too much trouble, lovely waiters. Best curry house we've ever dined at. We will be back

We were looking for an Indian restaurant as we drove up the A6 and came across the Barton Bangla Brasserie. We arrived without a booking and received a friendly welcome. The staff were so attentive, efficient and very pleasant . The food arrived quickly and it was amazing. I cannot speak highly enough of this establishment. A company that puts customers first with a fantastic menu and amazing food. Well worth a visit . Thanks to all the team for a truly enjoyable experience.

Being an Indian myself.. it's hard to find real good quality Indian restaurants.. to my surprise Barton Bangla has got to be one of the best in the North West ... the quality of food and the mix of spices was spot on.. you can tell they have tge experiance in the kitchen that really take pride in their cooking.. the Gafoori King Prawns are out of this world.. a Big well done..

Barton Bangla is a restaurant my wife and I have never visited before despite it being so close but after our first visit we will definitely be going back.

I can honestly say this is the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to.

Barton Bangla is a very good standard in the Asian cuisine restaurant business. Food is always good, service is always good. Always clean and tidy, good car parking. Priced pretty much the same as most places. Well worth a visit but nothing out of the ordinary. But I rate it up there with all the others that compete in this crowded market place. Like I say a good standard worth a visit.

This place is run down and looks like their in the middle of decorating as the wallpaper is half on and there was paint cans lying around. The conservatory smelt of sweat-very off putting. Starter portions were tiny. Mains were better. Very overpriced for what it is.

Tonight I have had another wonderful meal at Bangla brassiere at Barton. The staff are extremely attentive and polite and the food is beyond excellent. Bangla brassiere is a place for those of us who appreciate the finer Indian foods to enjoy and I personally have appreciated and enjoyed their menu for the last 10 years..... and I’m sure I’m not alone........

We arrived at the restaurant at 8.45pm on a Saturday night and was suspicious when there was only one other couple in the whole restaurant. I mentioned this to the waiter and was told it was because of the hot weather and England playing in the World Cup.

We visited our old friends at the Bangla Brasserie this evening and were treated to the usual fantastic food and service. Ali and the team do a tremendous job. I usually go for either the Handy Special or a dry curry like a chicken tandoori, but I thought that one of the specials looked interesting. The Gaffoori name was new to me but it was billed as "the best prawn curry you will ever have tasted". The thing is IT WAS (cooked by Afi I think)! Ali said it's going onto the main menu soon - try it, it's truly fantastic.

I visit here regularly with a group of friends, every few months forthe past 4 years. I've never had a bad meal. The order has never been wrong. The food is always amazing. The staff our attentive and friendly. They will help you and even tailor a curry to you if you cant decide. It's reasonably priced and always welcoming. The best curry in the Lancaster and Morecambe area by far.

I live in Preston and this is the first time I've been to the Barton Bangla Brasserie. It was brilliant. The staff are lovely and helpful, food delicious, reasonably priced and lovely setting.

Had a wonderful evening here, the staff were very helpful with the menu and food was excellent and reasonably priced. Not rushed at all but just a good pace between courses
