Twist in Preston

The best steak ever and incredibly good value for money! Would highly recommend. All the meals were presented lovely too.

Was very good. Lost it s nerve. Food was good. Interesting food and atmosphere . Just another burger place. Very very disappointing.

Went on Friday and we were told that the restaurant closed in 20 mins so we hurriedly ordered burger and fries. The burger seemed like it had been defrosted in the microwave then cooked. It was mushy in the middle in both burgers. I tried to eat the cooked edges but my husband ate it but immediately regretted it. I did inform the waitress as I left but she just smirked and looked at her coworker. We have since both come down with food poisoning

For it's city centre location, the prices, food quality and service are great. A simple menu focused on pizza and burgers with good portion sizes.

Decent food clouded by a strong smell of cigarettes. I came here during the week with my partner. Service by the two young waitresses was great. We ordered the mozzarella sticks to share for starters, which were really good. It could have been better if there was more sauce with them. I got a margarita pizza with sweetcorn and pineapple for my main and my partner got the calzone. My pizza was very average, I prefer that of pizza express down the road. I also paid £1 extra for each topping, however only got about 10 pieces of pineapple. We also shared a chocolate cake for dessert which was great. The main problem was that there was a really strong smell of cigarette smoke in the restaurant. As we were sat close to the door and there were customers outside smoking on the tables outside, the smell was smothering. Not a great experience whilst eating.

Intimate little restaurant off Fishergate. Great service and the souvlaki was tasty, as was the fudge cake. It's cheap, too. We spent £30 altogether and got a main, dessert and a drink. Will go back!

Made a booking for Saturday evening online which was confirmed, turned up and restaurant closed. No note on door, no email cancelling our table. Other people waiting to get in. Very poor form.

Had a great lunch at Twist today. Small but considered menu, food was excellent and very reasonably priced. Friendly staff and a cosy establishment. Highly recommended.

A family member suggested meeting here for food - I hadn't heard of the place as I don't visit Preston any more. The food was average - I had a burger, husband had beef stew (nice but very small portion for the price) and others had pizza and souvlaki. We were the only people in the place. HOWEVER! The whole time we were there there were men sat outside vaping, with one or the other of them coming in and out of the cafe CONSTANTLY along with men in black audis parked outside, engines running........It felt like we were at some local 'dealership' if you know what I mean. They couldn't take their eyes off my daughter - felt totally uncomfortable, intimidated - really spoiled my evening and I will DEFINITELY not be visiting again

Lovely Atmosphere, Great Value For Money, Incredible Food and Kind Staff - Sums up this place perfectly My boyfriend and I came on our first visit to Twist the other day, and we were pleasantly surprised. The second we walked through the door we were greeted with a smile, and a very kind member of staff, who we assume potentially was the owner, however we weren’t too sure. That being said, every staff member we came into contact with was also lovely. The atmosphere here is lovely, super small establishment on the ground floor especially, and even though every table was filled, it wasn’t too loud. It was very relaxing, and a nice environment to be in. There was music being played quietly in the background making it a lovely ambience for a more chilled date night. The value for money cannot be faulted. We ordered two mains, with a side and one starter between us, along with an alcoholic drink and a soft drink, our bill was around £40, for the two of us which we thought wasn’t half bad! The food was also lovely, super tasty and good quality ingredients. All in all, this was a wonderful first experience and we will certainly be back.

Best food I’ve had in Preston. We went for lunch today,ordered pizza and burgers. I could really taste the freshness of the food. We will definitely be back again.

What a brilliant little place, the chap running it is really good at customer service, friendly and professional in equal measure. He makes you feel like you’re a regular customer even if it’s your first time, Food is excellent, especially the burgers. Definitely worth a visit. I will be going again. Thank (Silver jacket guy😉)

Cosy little spot, excellent food, value for money, and great service. Stumbled upon this place with mum as I wanted to try something different from the chain eateries we usually frequent. We had pizza and chicken souvlaki. The pizza was superb! Mum commented it was one of the best she's had for a long time (and I had to agree). The souvlaki was great as well. If you're looking for somewhere different and slightly off the beaten track, 100% give this a shot.

This is a great value venue. New menu recently but still really tasty and well priced. Sausage melt sandwich, chicken kebab with pitta. Fabulous.

Heard this place was doing just burgers and pizzas. Sadly that was right. Used to be a cute little spot to go for fine dining but now it's like every other burger place in Preston - nothing special now. Went from Fine dining to brunch/fine dining to burgers and pizzas. Me and my husband visited this fab spot last week which is located right at the heart of Preston and sampled their contemporary European dishes ~ We tried the following: 》Pigeon Breast with roasted baby carrots, sweetcorn puree and parsley crumbs 》Scallops Carpaccio with fried rocket, pomegranate dressing, black garlic aioli and radish 》Fillet Steak with garlic and rosemary potatoes, roasted carrots, swede puree, wild mushrooms and veal jus 》Marinated Lamb Cutlets with naan bread, Greek yoghurt, rocket salad and spicy chimichurri sauce 》Lemon Tart with blueberry ice cream and fresh fruits 》Warm Chocolate Fudge Cake with vanilla ice cream and fresh berries The dishes were perfectly cooked and seasoned well with robust flavours that complimented each other. Totally impressed with the quality of their produce and how they were executed with utmost attention. The starters were fresh and light, certainly whet our appetites. The stars of the night for us were the fillet steak and lamb cutlets, so tender and beautifully spiced. Ended the night on a high note with the delectable desserts which had the right amount of sweetness plus balanced flavours. The staff were so attentive and made our dining experience very enjoyable. Our 3 course meal was second to none, we can't wait to be back - I highly recommend this place.

Our third visit to this place recently and for the third time the food was excellent. The service is quick and good and the prices are very good value. It's 20 yards off the main shopping street in Preston, go, you won't be disappointed.

I went to Twist for dinner with a friend. We had a great night. I started with the Charred Asparagus with poached egg and hollandaise sauce. So good I didn’t want it to end. Pork belly for mains, which was set off perfectly with the lentils and broccoli and rounded off with the semifreddo, which was delightful and not too sweet. We tried a Serbian wine (didn’t even know it was a thing!),but which was a great accompaniment to the meal. Definitely recommend.

Nice place for breakfast, we both had a full English and it was lovely. Would recommend this place for sure. Maybe it was nice or maybe it was cos we stayed in Blackpool the night before? Take your pick.

Had a lovely lunch and reasonably priced. Service was great. I’ve dropped a star for the atmosphere only because we were the only people in, but it was a late lunch. Will definitely be going back!

Absolutely stunning food! The menu is incredibly well thought out, beautifully balanced flavours, and offering something nowhere else in Preston really does. We'll definitely be returning.

We were celebrating my retirement. I am a big fan of fine dining and Twist is right up my street. We had the scallops, squid and beef carpaccio for starters, all fabulously tasty, although there did seem to be a full pack of rocket on my plate of carpaccio to bulk it out I presume, I did share the rocket, as it was nicely dressed 😋 For mains the others all had steak, cooked as they requested and all thoroughly enjoyed. I had the lamb which was amazing, beautifully tender just how it should be. Twist is definitely my favourite restaurant in Preston!

We dined here for a friend's 40th birthday and I was blown away. The food was just outstanding, I really cannot fault anything at all. The staff were extremely helpful and we all had a wonderful evening

I came to Twist to celebrate my birthday with friends. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The price certainly reflected in the quality, the steak was cooked perfectly. I cannot wait to come back!

Small portion for a large breakfast I was a little disappointed

This restaurant easily has the best food, experience, and service. Our waiter was extremely funny, and very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. And the vibes were immaculate. It is on the pricier side, as you would expect, but it is a well worthy experience. The only bad critic I have was that our meat, both the steak and the lamb were slightly overcooked. The steak (asked for medium rare) looked good, but once you cut into it was well done, and the lamb (supposed to be pink) was also cooked all the way through. But even with that, the meal was wonderful. We got tiramisu and the orange creme brulee, i didnt think the creme brulee would be good, but it was magnific, the tiramisu was just tiramisu, nothing special.

The starters were best - the squid was lovely and well presented. The main course was more variable - the lamb looked great, but the pasta was too much and could have been half the portion size to ensure the other ingredients stood out. The dessert was ok. The service was good and we had a lovely evening here.

Looking for something different for Saturday lunch we spotted Twist, liked the look of the menu and took the chance. What a great decision. The service was excellent and the food superb. Being used to London prices we were also very surprised at the cost. Good food at a reasonable price. Forget burger bars and quick food outlets, treat yourself to quality cooking. We'll certainly be back.

Having read such positive reviews we thought we’d give Twist in Preston a whirl. Amazing friendly front of house staff provided a very warm welcome. After sitting, water and warm homely bread arrived to the table within minutes. The menu has just enough alternatives for each course which makes you think that everything is super fresh and cooked personally for you. We were not disappointed. Each course looked beautiful and tasted amazing, currently the best value for money in Preston. The food was ‘gourmet’ quality without the gourmet price. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

Came here on an impromptu night out !!! Service was excellent and all the food was second to none !! The lamb was cooked to perfection and the Hake was simply Devine !!! Will definitely return and highly recommend

It was me and my partners first time going to Twist Restaurant and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with absolutely phenomenal food. The Duck and Creme Bruleé is to die for. The service we received from Tom was simply amazing. Greeted with a friendly smile and complimentary water and bread. Literally everything we could of needed, we got! Tom's service alone was good enough to come back but the food was just sensational. We will be back :) xx P.s. The nicest food I’ve ever had out in a restaurant. I could not fault it the price is perfect for the quality of food. The staff were amazing, very attentive and helped me and friend decide on our food choices the soft shell crab and the beef rib were to die for.

Wonderful lunch at Twist today, had the lunch menu, soft shell crab and seabass cooked to perfection. The restaurant is clean, warm and bright with friendly staff.

Came here for an impromptu lunch. Was able to bring own wine as no license. Wanted food from the set lunch menu but 2 out of the 3 starters were not available. I must confess I wanted to leave at this point but partner insisted...

We visited Twist this evening after hearing great things and we weren’t disappointed. From the amazing staff & lovely decor to the incredible food, we had a brilliant time. The scallops were perfectly cooked, the sweet potato croquettes were incredibly light, and the swordfish is highly recommended. The absolute star of our meal was the Orange Crème Brûlée- utterly delicious. We can’t wait for our next visit!

The food was excellent. Tom was brilliant, making us feel welcome. Tried ox cheek as the starter, which I had never had before and duck as the mains. The restaurant was very clean.

What a lovely experience. The food is gorgeous, the front of house guys, james and jen, are fantastic. The risotto is to die for as in the orange creme brulee. This place should be visited.
