Madame Waffle in Lincoln

Fantastically tasty waffles. Extensive vegan menu too. And fresh, raw juices. So pleased we stumbled across this place (it doesn’t pop up when you search for breakfasts on Tripadvisor) - we got lucky to find it and enjoyed a great breakfast in a delightful venue with welcoming staff.

So first off I want to say I do like this place it's nice and different and the variation they offer is great. On this occasion I was not happy with the situation so my wife is ceoliac and this place does gluten free waffles great when we ordered we asked for gluten free all fine the waffles come out and we ask the waiter is this gluten free as she didn't state it upon putting it on the table she replied yes and then walked off she quickly came back and said I'm not sure if it is gluten free let me check and upon returning we realised it was not gluten free. Now while this is not good for people asking for gluten free my wife is ceoliac and pregnant and I appreciated they said sorry but they didn't seem all that bothered to be honest just a sort of sorry but never mind sort of sorry I don't think they realise that if my wife was to have eaten it upon confirmation of it being gluten free how sick she would of been with ceoliac it doesn't only make you vomit it causes severe pain and vomiting sometimes for days it attacks your own body so it is not great and hospital is sometimes needed whilst I'm not saying it would of got this severe I do expect the restraunt cafe to check before confirming it is gluten free. Please train staff to double double check when gluten free is ordered.

The coffee is beautiful and the waffles light and fluffy. My 3rd visit and always my favourite place to go when I visit Lincoln. Staff are always really friendly

Such a friendly atmosphere with lovely food. Excellent service and the waffles are amazing. The healthy, fresh fruit drinks are a great accompaniment to the indulgence of the waffles! And all freshly prepared!

Service wasn’t great unfortunately it did feel like we had been forgotten about and took a while for the food to come out. Great iced coffee the big breakfast was tasty halloumi was gorgeous, I did ask for a poached egg and it did come out fried which was a shame. I would say this is a great place for the sweet waffles rather than breakfast!

We were impressed with the look of the cafe from the street and their menu choices having not eaten waffles before. We were quickly greeted and shown to our seat upstairs by a friendly, enthusiastic member of staff. We ordered a fruit waffle and a croque madam with smoked salmon. Both dishes were a good portion for brunch, freshly cooked and delicious. The fruit on the waffle was disappointing; chopped melon, one piece of pineapple, one slice of kiwi and one sliced strawberry (like a pre packed tub from Tesco). It’s a shame as they offer made-to-order juices from fresh fruit so we saw a counter with pears, mango, oranges, apples but none of these were offered on the fruit waffle. The cafe is clearly ethical and the vegan options means we’ll definitely return with our vegan son. The decor is an odd choice for an ethical, sustainable cafe with lots of vegan food as there’s a mounted deer skull on the wall and an unpleasant huge light fitting made of antlers. Overall service was excellent and the staff were warm and welcoming. Will definitely return.

Food is wonderful and so is the staff. Throughly enjoyed our cheat breakfast. I wish I took photos of the food because it was presented beautifully. The waitress who looked after us took the time to find out what we had been up to whilst in Lincoln and even gave us suggestions. Will visit again

A very good brunch option and the waffle was so light, fluffy on the inside whilst light and crispy on the outside. Good service, atmosphere and good waffle options.

Brilliant brunch with coffee and milkshake Everything was fresh tasty and plantifull. We had the Elvis waffle and avacado/ salmon waffle and both were incredible Would return in a heartbeat Staff very friendly and we didn’t have to wait too long for a table even though we queued out the door.

To be honest I was not fussed about a waffle and never think to have one or fancy one for that matter but we were dying for a drink so we went in anyway. We ordered three different waffles, one had pecans cooked into the waffle, one had peanut butter on and one was dairy and gluten free with caramelised banana. Great service, contemporary decor. The best bit was the waffle, mine was the gluten free and it far exceeded expectations! Massive convert to waffles now. It was hot, fresh, soft and really delicious- maple syrup and everything was of excellent quality. I will definitely be going back! Wonderfully surprised

Probably the best coffee in town and definitely the best waffles. I’ve visited here on and off since it originally opened and can highly recommend a visit.

There is ground floor and first floor seating and table service. As the name suggests there is a large and interesting menu of waffles. We resisted the waffles but enjoyed two flat white coffees. The service was very pleasant.

We had a wonderful visit to Madame Waffle on Saturday for a little brunch date. The staff are so friendly and the café is beautifully decorated with quirky bits and pieces. I had this vegan breakfast and oh my goodness! I am so happy that Madame Waffle has expanded their vegan menu and has so many fantastic options available. The vegan breakfast was delicious, the sausages were good, you had a choice of grilled or chopped tomatoes and the mushrooms were seasoned really well. You can have a waffle or toast with your breakfast, but obviously I went for a waffle because it is a waffle shop! The sweetness of the waffle worked really well with the rest of the breakfast. I want to go back and try their other options but I’m not sure whether I would be tempted just to have this breakfast again because it was gorgeous.

I came in with my friends for a bite to eat on a Sunday before we went to Reepham for a garden party. One of my friends does like coming in because there are lots of vegan options for her to choose from. Honestly, her waffle arguably looked better than mine! With a choice of sweet or savoury it's always a challenge deciding which option you want to go with. We had the smoked salmon and one of the vegan banoffee waffles with some apple juice and a smoothie, all of which were great. My non-vegan friend had never been in before and regrets that it's taken this long for her to try.

Something for everyone! Sweet & savoury. Absolutely love the fact they offer plenty of vegan options too. Amazing. Pricey but worth it for a treat.

The best waffles by far. Smoked Salmon, poached egg & Avocado topped with finely sliced chillies which I enjoyed so much that I washed it down with another with Chocolate Ice Cream & banana. Very warm & friendly staff, very clean & reasonably priced.

I ordered the vegan waffle with biscoff and strawberries, my husband got the vegan breakfast. Both were lovely! I ate mine in about 10 seconds. I also ordered an Oatly chai tea which was delicious! A little expensive but worth it for a nice treat.

I can not believe I have been to Lincoln on several occasions and missed this lovely place.Amazing customer service matched with amazing food.I had poached egg and avocado on a Belgium waffle with crispy bacon.Absolute delicious can not fault the food at all.I also decided to try a couple of milkshakes first one was salted caramel followed by a banana milkshake both delicious.You do pay a little bit more but so so worth it. I recommend this place to anyone who fancies something that is a little bit different and up market.This is the first café I have been to since the Covid19 lockdown and must say everything is very clean and hand sanitiser is avaliable as you enter and leave. Big thank you to all the lovely staff.

Had a meeting here yesterday with my Line Manager and would definitely visit again. I had the grilled halloumi with avocado and poached egg on a waffle and tea. It was amazingly tasty. Staff were friendly. Will be back soon with my husband.

This place is so nice that today I’ve been twice. First we had savoury waffles at lunchtime and now we’re back for a mid-afternoon sweet treat. Both the savoury and sweet waffles are excellent, and the waffles themselves are light, crispy and fluffy - not your average high-street waffle.The coffee is some of the best coffee I’ve had - better than most coffee shops. The interior is cosy and modern, and the staff are super friendly. Well worth a visit!

I had the waffle with avocado, egg and salmon. It was a perfect balance of each and was really lovely and my boyfriend enjoyed the full English breakfast. The staff were also very welcoming and the service was quick. The milkshakes were also very good. Definitely intend on coming here again!

Very nice food, good portions and reasonable price. Seating also upstairs but steep stairs to climb. Alas the poached egg on all our waffle breakfasts was hard not runny - and only luke warm - could they be pre poaching them in advance, cooling them, then warming them up in hot water? Shame as otherwise would have been a great brunch.

Took family here after the (also excellent) pantomime and we really enjoyed the freshly-made waffles (light, crispy and not too sweet) with the the well thought out choice of toppings and the very friendly and quick service. We liked the fact that the decor is a little quirky. There was something to please everyone. We happily ate a savoury and a sweet one each and it was a great end to a family day out.

We stopped in for a quick bite before wandering around Lincoln. Found a couple of really nice gins which was a pleasant surprise. We had a pulled pork waffle and a halloumi and avocado waffle. They were both delicious and much larger portions than expected! The staff were also brilliant with our 21mo old rascal!

MW was always our favourite for the only decent cup of coffee In Lincoln. The last few visits have been a massive disappointment though. The coffee tastes burnt or tasteless from the new Barista. Even the hot chocolate was very weak. Looks like we'll have to find a new coffee stop.

Lovely, friendly staff and AMAZING waffles. Latte was one of the best I’ve ever had. I recommend the ‘tea cake waffle’ deal sold after 2.30. Absolute bargain at 3.50. I keep trying to think of a reason to go to Lincoln so I can have one .

Great welcome, great service, great food. Cannot rate this visit any higher - the lady taking our order was spot on, the food was fresh and the fresh drinks was also very nice. The apple and orange squeezed juice was a nice change. Will be back.

We were looking around for a place to have a coffee on a Saturday afternoon .. and had the choice between a chain and this coffee shop / restaurant ... and we decided to take a chance. So glad we did! Great coffee and a range of both sweet and savoury waffles ... just the place to go on a chilly and drizzly afternoon.

Came here on Friday with a friend, the weather wasn't looking too great and we decided to step inside for lunch. We were seated upstairs straight away, took a look at the menu and ordered sweet waffles - we went for Oreo and Honeycomb Crunch. After about 15 minutes we received the waffles, they almost looked too good to eat! Once we finished that we were pretty full and ended up staying longer as it was raining outside. Great location, cosy inside, plenty of things to look at from decoration and staff always polite. Will be coming back sometime soon, maybe for a savoury waffle this time!

Visited on a wet day and this place was very busy and the atmosphere is cosy. It has the feel of a Continental waffle house. The barman is friendly and makes delicious coffee!

Happened to be passing on a drizzly morning and very pleased we called in. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was excellent. The price was so reasonable we checked it was correct. The staff were helpful, friendly and professional.

This was my third visit and I ordered a sweet waffle for the first time. It was delicious, as I expected, as was the latte I ordered, The staff here take coffee seriously and it shows.

We had brunch, here. The place was very busy but we were seated quickly and the staff were attentive. The food was fist rate and my companion particularly enjoyed the freshly squeezed apple juice. Handily sited on the High Street and well worth a visit

My daughter and I had planned in advance to eat breakfast here during our trip to Lincoln and we weren’t disappointed.

After being convinced to come to Madame Waffle by my girlfriend, I came not expecting a whole lot. But when I arrived all the staff were amazing, the atmosphere and decor are fantastic and interesting. And the food we ordered, the nutella and banana waffles, were delicious. Service was incredibly fast and the presentation was perfect and detailed. The staff are lovely and talented. Also had a delicious frappe.

Fabulous restaurant very clean, lots of room and the most delicious waffles in the world. The waffles were so tender and cooked to order. The waitress gave us a bottle of cold water which was most welcome on a really hot day. In addition to the wonderful waffles, the coffee is really gorgeous.

Waiting an hour for our breakfast wasn't fun. being told that the delay was due to a change in the menu baffled us. How long does it take to cut up an avocado and cook eggs? We need up ordering more coffees to go with the breakfast once it eventually turned up.

Went for a quick cappuccino and was told they did interesting waffles. I chose the toasted tea cake waffle which came with cream and jam - it was amazing.

Popped in here for breakfast with my boyfriend last week, and it was soo good! We both had waffle (nutella/banana & bacon, scrambled eggs & hallumi). The waffles were big and so fluffy and just perfectly cooked. Presentation was lovely, and the prices were super reasonable too.

On a cold morning visiting the antiques market, lunch was in order. Could not really decide what to have? Popped into MW, it was just the tonic, I had the Croquet Madam added smoky bacon, partner had chicken and avocado, added smoky bacon, washed down with a nice glass of white wine. Desert is yet to be decided on. Highly recommend, great atmosphere.

Went on a recommendation from friends. We ordered a sweet and savoury waffle to share. The savoury was some kind of Moroccan style tagine dish and was alright, not memorable but the sweet was frankly terrible.

This is a great place to grab a snack especially if you love waffles which are awesome here, and the sundae’s are very good too. Staff very friendly and welcoming, this is my second visit to Madame waffle and both have been good, I’ll always pop in every time I visit Lincoln. Highly recommended

As I was cleaning out my wallet I came across my Madame Waffle receipt from a few months ago. We were looking for breakfast & Madame Waffle didn't disappoint. Two us had yoghurt & berries & and enjoyed the the delicious waffles, but the standout for us was the coffee. It is always great. Wish we had been in Lincoln for longer.

We made a return visit to Madame Waffle for brunch to see if they could maintain their previously high standards. The answer, yes they could! We had a bit of a wait for our order to be taken but from then on things were pretty swish. Our food was great, as usual, and my latte was, for some inexplicable reason, the best I have ever had! Having never understood how Maple Syrup could ever complement Bacon, I had to give it a go.

Visited here for the first time with a Friend who raves about the place; we were seated straight away downstairs by a very polite member of staff. It was very cramped though and not well lit. The menu, to me, was quite upmarket, though the prices were cheap. Alot to choose from but options very strange upmarket combinations. I opted for a plain sweet waffle with strawberry sauce and my friend had the avocado and halloumi waffle. Mine was average, hers was enjoyable. Quite a wait for the order to be taken, but very quick at making it. Meal and drink for under £10 but popular place so be prepared for a short wait.
