We stayed for 5 nights near Durdle Door and this was without doubt our favourite place to eat during our holiday. The location was lovely (if the weather had been better we would have enjoyed after dinner drinks on their terrace in the sun). Everything we eat and drank was delicious and we'll definitely be going back again.

We were after some higher end food and wine after eating mainly pub grub during our stay in West Lulworth. The scallops and pork medallions were especially nice. Not cheap, but sometimes you get what you pay for. Would recommend booking as it is a relatively small venue, and will definitely be returning when we are in the area again!

If you are either travelling in the area or staying at the hotel, do not miss out on this delightful restaurant. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner twice during our stay at the hotel. The service and food were outstanding. We recommend trying the scallops and locally sourced seafood and fish dishes, as we did. The scallops, lobster, and fish were cooked to perfection. The duck was lovely: pink and juicy. We had cheesecake and crême brulé for dessert paired with an absolutely amazing dessert wine. We fully recommend it.

We stayed one night in this boutique hotel located a short walk from stunning Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. We paid £200 for B&B. The terrace has scenic views over the village, church and tranquil countryside. Quintessential rural England. Our room ‘Seaside’ was bright, light, comfortable and spacious. Although the shower room was none of these, it was adequate. Dinner and breakfast were good, service friendly and efficient. Wifi and parking were free.

Stayed 3 nights at Limestone Hotel at Lulworth Cove and overall enjoyed our stay and were lucky with the weather.Staff were mainly friendly and the food was good at both dinner and breakfast. We found our room (Library) rather small with no chair and the bathroom was also small with a shower cubicle which we found difficult with washing ones self being so small.. The water pressure was good and plenty of hot water.Bed was comfortable and everything else was ok for a short stay. Each room had its own parking space although it could be difficult for those with large cars.Tables were spaced out due to Covid and everybody observed the current rules. We were aware that we were booking one of the smaller rooms and priced at £160 b&b we were quite happy.

A small restaurant in a hotel - we stayed in B&B about 5 mis walk away. Good covid measures; tables distanced, staff keeping distance etc. Food was really very good. We focused on fish and found it very nicely cooked with very good accompaniments. Not quite Michelin level but close. It takes a very good chef to do fish well. Best meal of our holiday, would certainly go again.

Away from the crowds in Lulworth, this hotel restaurant was just 5 minutes from the cottage we were staying, up a steep slope to outdoor predinnner drinks and covid friendly spacing in the restaurant. Scallops starters were excellent, crusty haddock could have been a bit more crusty, lobster thermadore didn't disappoint. Crumble tasted divine but could have been crunchier.

This restaurant is spectacular, it sits quite high up so on your way up the ramp you can take in the views. It's a very intimate experience, as they only have a few tables, so booking is a must. There is a lounge area where you can have a drink before/after your meal which was perfectly set out. The food was second to none, we had the scallops and crab to start, followed by the lobster and catch of the day. The chef even came out to speak with us and to ask how our meal was, which was a real touch. Gareth out waiter, was just superb. 100% recommend.

I have been to very little restaurants that i’ve wanted to leave as soon as I arrive but this was one of them!!! The restaurant at this hotel stuck out like a sore thumb and the staff just so odd!!! To arrive at a restaurant and be told that one of the main draws on the menu was sold off did completely spoil the experience!! I did, however eat the scallops which were incredible. Otherwise the atmosphere grated, not helped by a large party dominated by one of the guests sharing her birthing details, told like a badge of honour. For the first time ever, my husband didn’t tip. This is totally unheard of but quite frankly summed up the pretentious uncomfortable atmosphere.

We were visiting Lulworth Cove without a car and got stuck in a downpour. This restaurant/hotel was close by so we popped in. We must have looked a mess, but they were so welcoming! We had a lovely cup of tea on comfy couches in front of a big bay window looking out over a picturesque country scene. We loved it so much, we came back in the afternoon for tea, cake, and scones before our train to London. All of it was delicious. Plus, they were perfectly okay with us dragging in our luggage and even tried to help us book a taxi to Wool — even though we didn’t stay at the hotel.I honestly don’t expect fancy hotels like this to offer good service to folks who aren’t overnight guests — those places are usually so stodgy and stuck up. But that certainly wasn’t the case here — everyone we interacted with was very welcoming. Would totally recommend this place to folks visiting the area!

A great welcome to the restaurant, however I was taken aback that on the hottest day of the year there was no air conditioning or at the least any fans. We were brought complimentary bread and oils which was a nice touch. The menu was small which on the one hand means the food is fresh but a bit too limited. I had scallops to start which was very tasty with the pea puree but expensive at £9.50. For mains I had roasted summer vegetable and chickpea ragout, which was nice until the very end when I found a small piece of plastic in my food. I didn't say anything as I didn't want to create a fuss. I agree with the other review there was no atmosphere it felt a bit ostentatious with the type of clientele that go there. We dined at Limestone with friends last week to try the new spring menu and to see the recent refurbishments to the dining room and bar. We have dined at Limestone with family and friends at almost every menu change since it's opening, and this new spring menu has to be one of the best! We sat next to the new bar, in the front window seats (table of 4), and we loved the new upgraded furnishings with soft lighting. We ordered starters each and the choices were so tempting that we shared another 2 starters between us - all amazing! The main courses came out, and all four of us commented on the brilliant flavour combinations... some of which we didn't expect to work, but they did! Well done to the whole team for continuing to offer such a relaxed fine dining experience in Lulworth. Also worth mentioning the outstanding wine list AND NEW COCKTAIL MENU! See you again soon :-)

We atet here a couple of weeks ago having been twice before on a visit last summer. On those occasions we eat on the terrace with its stunning view and had excellent food. We did go inside and thought the restaurant looked nice. However, the inside room has since had a 'makeover' to what we can only describe as Ikea chic!!! It seems more like a in store cafe and it neither suits the excellent style of the up-market cooking nor the period style of the building. We will certainly eat here again as the food is still outstanding but will wait until the summer when we can eat outside.

There were long periods of time when there were no staff to be seen in the restaurant and reception area as disappeared into the kitchen. On the pricier end to eat out. However, for the quality of food and service it was actually excellent value for money. It was like being welcomed in to someone's home (who owns an amazing home) with a roaring fireplace and dim lighting throughout, it felt cosy, romantic but also had lots of modern touches to made it very stylish and comfortable. The waiting staff were great, you felt like you being happy made them happy. The chefs there are quite clearly very talented. We had booked for 7.00pm arriving a few minutes early having had to park 400 yards away near the church as the car park is reserved for hotel guests. We enjoyed an aperitif on the patio whilst our order was taken. The starters and main courses were very good and efficiently served and well presented. However the restaurant now filled with hotel guests and we seemed to get forgotten. It took 60+ minutes (15 minutes to clear the mains, 15 to order and another 30 to serve) our dessert order and only after chasing up. Coffee wasn’t offered and we had to leave the table to ask for the bill at 9.15. In summary good food but the priority seemed to be on the hotel guests and not really geared (parking so far away) or interested in non residents. Sorry the hour + trying to get a dessert really took the edge off our evening.

We ate here on the recommendation of our excellent B&B; (Bindon Bottom) only a short walk away, and on Trip Advisor reviews. We were not disappointed. The front terrace offers a lovely setting for pre-dinner drinks and the restaurant is relatively small so you can enjoy your meal without excessive background noise but still with a good atmosphere. It follows that you should book ahead to guarantee yourself a table. The only slot available for us when we booked was 1830 but that suited us anyway. The staff are smartly dressed, attentive without being pushy, and very friendly. Our food was excellent, and there is a good specials selection available. We skipped starters, as normal for us. My fillet steak was very well cooked (the chef willingly gave me an alternative sauce as I am not a fan of Béarnaise) and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her Crab, Scallops and Prawn Gratin. I recommend the Minervois wine, a sensibly priced and pleasant wine. Desserts were nice too – a custard tart special for me and the fresh berries for my wife. Overall this was a very enjoyable meal in pleasant surroundings and was a pleasant change from the local pub grub. We will definitely eat here again if we return to this area

We ate and also stayed for two nights at the Limestone hotel in August Super experience especially with their fresh fish straight off the quay each morning. My favorite was the scallop starter. Also very friendly, well trained staff.

Attentive service, delicious food and the perfect setting. We treated ourselves to dinner here as we couldn't book in for a stay. The hotel is beautiful, set on a slight hill overlooking the gorgeous surroundings. Staff were helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Food was fresh and cooked well (we had scallops, fish and steak) While the meal was extremely enjoyable the price was a little on the expensive side, hence the 4 stars, but it was a great evening and rounded off the perfect weekend.

I came to lulworth for a short break and discovered this amazing restaurant all over again! The chef just keeps getting better and better, he clearly takes a lot of care and effort over the dishes. I always worry when food comes out within minutes of it being ordered as I really expect freshly cooked food when eating out. The scallops in particular were to die for and the lobster thermador was also spot on. I will continue to return to this place and recommend anyone to give it a go, you will not be disappointed.

On a freezing cold December evening we were shown into the bar for pre dinner drinks around the open fire,(most welcoming). The waitress brought us the menu and specials board and gave us a full description of each meal, after ordering we were then taken through to the restaurant.

Had an excellent evening meal here recently when staying nearby in West Lulworth. The staff were very welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. The menu is not large but there’s something for every taste on it plus there was a ‘specials’ board for the daily recommendations. The dining room is well laid out so that it never seems too crowded. Only thing I didn’t like (although I wouldn’t mark the restaurant down for it because it didn't affect the taste of the food) was that the desserts were served on a sort of slate thing. I know that this is a fashionable thing to do but I personally prefer a proper plate to eat from. Apart from that very minor grumble, this is definitely a place to enjoy a lovely meal at a reasonable cost.

Thoroughly enjoyed our last dinner in West Last Lulworth. We arrived about 30 minutes early and had cocktails in the bar. Thankfully the server notified us that there was only 1 lobster special left so we were able to pre-order it! We shared it as an appetizer - delicious, succulent local lobster with garlic butter and potatoes. Our mains were just as tasty, including my "catch of the day" sea bream, accompanied by leek and garlic risotto. We were too full for a rich dessert so instead opted for the light and refreshing gin and pink grapefruit sorbet. As dinner was winding down, the head chef came out to introduce himself and ask about our meal. Definitely the stand-out dinner of our three nights here!

We LOVED staying at the Limestone Inn. The food was delicious, excellently prepared, presented, and served. Staying upstairs was a quiet choice. The room was small but certainly adequate. Tastefully decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful with directions.
