Great food and friendly staff. The Hunters board was lovely, the scotch egg in particular!

Popped by on Good Friday without a reservation and got a table (albeit the last one) right away. The staff were all very friendly and very fast and the food was piping hot and absolutely delicious. Thanks for having us! My personal recommendation: the pork belly and the crumble.

Proper pub with great food and staff

Very historic pub with good selection of beer or cider. Food here is very good, and uses local sourced produce. The pub also boasts a long & well kept garden. Found it so hospitable we visited more than once for a meal.

The food was great, the staff were lovely and we were not faced with ridiculous wait times considering our party of 7 people, the burger was amazing, but had the structural integrity of a pile of sand. Would recommend if your in the area :)

We phoned on the spur of the moment and were kindly slotted in by an extremely friendly landlady.The Fox is a really quaint pub in the heart of Corfe village.We both had the Sunday roast, nicely presented, but sadly let down by not being very hot and the vegetables were very under cooked, especially the cauliflower cheese.We did receive a complimentary dessert as a gesture of goodwill.

Well worth visiting this lovely little pub tucked away in Corfe. Cosy bars. Lovely secluded garden. Ales well kept. Recommended.

Beautiful pub with beer garden. We stopped here for lunch and the food was brilliant (pie of the moment and haddock ciabatta which were both delicious). Fantastic service and dog friendly.

What a fantastic find! The food was exquisite, the ploughman's and roasts couldn't of been better. The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Haven't had such a good meal in a long time xx We will be back, if you haven't been it's a must and corf castle is just beautiful xx

We were recommended by a friend to go for mother's day lovely pub in beautiful place but unfortunately the roast looked good but beef tuff and chewy vegetables were not cooked enough such a shame as was well presented and was only offered would we like another bit cooked. ? I personally would of liked another meat offered and brought out on a plate .

Wow just OUTSTANDING!!!. If you want a roast beef or roast pork get your self to this little pub, it’s probably the best roast dinner I’ve had in the last 10 years easy. EVERYTHING WAS COOKED TO PERFECTION the gravy was just out of this world GOOD and the Yorkshire puddings are my far the BEST I’ve ever had. Desert was home made apple crumble and custard and again was just PERFECT. The cheese ploughmans was also outstanding. The kids roast ares just as good my 8 year old smashed his. The staff couldn’t do enough for the 5 of us and it’s definitely a place I will come back to if I’m in the area. But for anyone visiting or lives nearby and haven’t been here get yourself there you won’t be disappointed, we had a 15 minute drive back to where we were staying and all we talked about was how good the food was. Well done the fox inn

8 of us went for Sunday lunch. Huge back garden. We sat inside as the wind was chill. Attentive service with well informed staff. Food was great. Good vegetarian option. Delicious Good range of ales and beers. Nice atmosphere inside. Lively but not too noisy

Two adults and a well behaved 3-year old. Ate her twice this week. Once at lunch and the other in the early evening. Food quality and selection were great. Service was prompt and friendly. I will go back again when I am in the area.

My wife and dropped in at 2.45pm on a winter Wednesday having known the Pub but years ago, it didn’t have a good reputation…. What a surprise! We shared the Hunters Platter… absolutely amazing, proper home made food serviced by the lovely Jess who’s very charming. So if you’re looking for somewhere to eat in Corfe Castle this should be your No1 choice We’ll be back

Very fine old pub. Have often walked past, but never visited, until recently, when popping in with a group of five and one dog for a post-hike pint. Friendly, accommodating staff, excellent chips (can’t rate the meals as didn’t stop long this time!) and a small but decent selection of beers with some local brews too. Highly recommended.

Nice food at reasonable prices, cosy atmosphere with the open fire. Amazing staff make you feel really welcome. Corfe Castle is always busy so plan ahead - you could reserve a table when I visited.

Corfe village is a time warp historical wonder, including this quaint cosy village pub. Lovely food, nice staff, perfect name for a fox passing by on his adventure 🦊 Will definitely come back in summer.

Very friendly & welcoming and a warm, homely atmosphere. Food looked & tasted delicious and was well-priced, also an extensive menu to suit all tastes & all ages. The bartender knew the beers well & was able to recommend one which matched my taste & I enjoyed a perfect pint of bitter! All the staff are very attentive & it’s lovely to see a team that work so well together & always have smiles on their faces! We would recommend the Fox to anyone visiting Corfe, it’s definitely the best lunch venue in the village!

We always eat/drink at The Fox when staying in Corfe. Great food, great service and Mel, Brendan and Jess make us feel so welcome. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed!

Really great little pub with friendly staff, very good food and a lovely long back garden. My favourite local in the village. Their Sunday lunches are highly recommended.

Had a couple of good value meals here. Very prompt service, though recommended to make reservations for meals as it's a very busy place. The cheese sauce on the cauliflower needed to be cooked out for longer, and the base of the huge batter pudding was slightly doughy, otherwise really good and substantial meals.

Lovely pub, a stones throw from Corfe Castle, which serves an excellent quality Sunday lunch until 8pm ... booking advised, it's very popular! You can get a table for anytime in the afternoon to allow you a good day out doing whatever you want first. The meat is bought locally and the gravy was amazing 👏🏻 lovely big garden. Highly recommended

This is a special place. It has all of the atmosphere, the charm, the history, the people, the food you are looking for. Magical lower patio. Had a sunset dinner with a lovely view of Corte Castle. You won’t do better.

Very nice pub with good menu selections for sunday roasts etc . All choices still available in the evening . Many gluten free and vegetarian and vegan options available. All enjoyed in a nice spacious pub garden on an August evening.

Such a lovely garden with an amazing view of the castle. Service is friendly and quick. We had drinks, chips and other nibbles but have had meals before and the food always tastes delicious and freshly prepared and the prices are very reasonable, especially for the level of quality. A visit here is a must for us when in Corfe.

Was dissapointed by the food we received. The chicken in the pie of the day (chicken and leek) we received was barely cooked and not what was expected for the price of the food at £17. Chips very good though

We were kindly squeezed in as a group of 7. The restaurant/ pub isn’t huge but the staff were friendly and welcoming considering our booking was last minute. I had the feathered beef with truffle fries. I was pretty hungry. My phone was out of battery but I didn’t manage to take a photo of my meal. Most of the people in the group elected to have fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce.

Just had a fantastic meal in The Fox after a day's activities - just what you want. Superb food, hearty portions, cosy atmosphere, really friendly service. All top notch and highly recommended. I had the beef blade and the rest of the group had the superb gluten free fish and chips. The selection of drinks was good too, and the chocolate sundae was incredible.

Had dinner here, such delicious food, really high quality and very tasty. Best apple crumble I’ve had!

A lovely old pub in the heart of Corfe with a huge pub garden! We visited for dinner on a busy Saturday night - staff were friendly and attentive and the food was delicious (although slightly pricey!) We all had the steak frites which was tasty - really good chips! - and I had the mixed berry crumble which was delicious (but needed more crumble and more custard!). The chocolate brownie was also incredible and indulgent. Would highly recommend a visit!

Food was average, we had pork roast and chicken. Ambience was cosy, space on the smaller side but they have a lovely garden.. service was good.

First time I visited The Fox and it was a good choice. 10 of us chose a range of dishes and everybody said they chose well. My starter was the excellent Butcombe bitter and my main course salmon was extremely well cooked. Also a great addition to any menu was the small pud and coffee combo. Recommended

Nice atmospheric pub, good food!

Visited this evening for food and drinks and received a very warm welcome. Having a dairy intolerance eating out is not always the pleasure it once was, but they had a clearly labelled menu and were very happy to discuss dietary requirements. We had fish and chips that were very tasty and I even had the option of three dairy free deserts. We had a lovely meal and we felt very welcome. A great dog friendly pub with excellent service and delicious well presented food in Corfe. We will definitely be back - thank you

Stumbled upon this pub as we were waiting for the traffic to clear but what a lovely hidden gem! Friendly staff and a lovely big beer garden - we really enjoyed sitting in the spring sunshine. Weren't going to get food but we couldn't resist - kids both had fish and chips which was a fab sized portion, and "the best he'd ever eaten" according to the 11 yr old. The adults chose burgers from the BBQ menu - an amazing juicy burger with all the trimmings, well worth it! Other guests lunches looked equally tasty so we will definitely return to try out more from the menu.

Slightly (and only slightly) tucked out of the way is this lovely example of a “proper” pub. It feels atmospheric, the beer is good and the staff very pleasant. I haven’t eaten here, but the food being served looked like I will have to return with an elastic waistband in my trousers.

Lovely garden when the sun is out. We are local and must try the food one day.

Highly recommend the pub we went in for a drink on Saturday evening and the staff was very pleasant and accommodating we booked for the Sunday lunchtime for there Sunday roast they fitted 5 of us and 3 dogs in and the food was a excellent 10 out of 10 would Highly recommend a visit would definitely come back Barry Dawson

Really pleasant, random find. Came to visit Corfe Castle and my friends and I were looking for a place to have a drink, so we stumbled through the first pub we found. The pub has a warm, preserved atmosphere, and whilst it's a narrow pub it stretches far and has plenty of seating available for yourself or large groups. Ideal pub to visit during the summer as the beer garden is astoundingly long, and it even has a bar at the bottom of the garden. Highly recommended

We always head to The Fox when we are visiting Corfe Castle for lunch. I have to say that this visit was exceptional, the lady behind the bar was really friendly and helpful. The menu was so good we didn't know what to choose. My wife is Coeliac and the chef was immediately able to say what was available which is always reassuring. She even got a Scotch egg to take away as she had never seen them available gluten free before. The meal was excellent, one of the best I've ever had actually, the atmosphere in the pub is very pleasant, can't wait to return.

Lovely old world pub. Lunch for four people mid-week. Best fish and chips we've had for some time and price included a pudding, although a bit basic. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient. Food was very good and generous proportions. Prices about average these days. Will come again when in the area.

Found this beautiful old pub today , staff were so friendly and had a fantastic meal . Will definitely return in the summer as the garden looks fabulous.

Good food , good service, had a nice time.

8 of us visited for drinks and food. The food was average. The steak pie was one of the worst I've had. The "pastry" lid was tough as old boots and would require power tools to cut through and remove from the side of the dish. The contents were sparce and mostly gravy. It's the only pie I've had that doesn't come with any sort of veg or peas. Other 7 meals were mixed with the Sunday roast being the best of the meals. Beer was different to other pubs but nothing special. The service was however friendly. This place caters well for visitors to the nearby castle. Unfortunately not recommended.

Lunchtime, which explains the four stars. Very welcoming staff. Good choice of food cooked in their kitchen,. so very fresh. Friendly locals. If I lived close to Corfe would jump at the chance to make it my local.. Unspoilt but comfortable and efficient.

Met some friends here one evening recently. Quaint little pub with good beer but really disappointed with the food. It was generally bland and tasteless. I'd visit again for a drink but there must be better places to eat locally.

We had very limited time to swing into the greyhound car park, across to the Fox for a cider and small wine. We were under pressure after a few hours in West Bay and eager to swing onto the twisty road to the Sandbanks Ferry - we sped down just in time to get loaded on and across to get to the house.

We had a fantastic meal at The Fox Inn. A delicious Chicken and Leek pie and Strawberry and Basil cheesecake for 16 pounds. Friendly staff but I was a little disappointed in the interior, as I was expecting more of a historical atmosphere, as it is the oldest pub in Corfe. We will eat there again though!

We visited twice whilst on holiday and both times could not have been better. Food was delicious, good choice, speedy service and so welcoming. Lovely place both outside with views and cosy indoors.

I ate here a few weeks ago, and ever since I have been dreaming of the marinade which came with my steak. Quite simply the best meal I have ever eaten. Cooked not by the chef, but the proprietor. Wonderful.

We stopped here for lunch. Sandwiches were very nice, some real care had gone into trying to make them a cut above the rest. An option for chips instead of crisps with the sandwich would be nice. Service friendly and quick. Lovely old pub atmosphere. Price reasonable considering the location.

Great proper pub not pretentious like it's neighbours, reasonably priced good beer friendly staff and great views from the huge garden

The staff here are great, very welcoming and friendly. They even went the extra mile and made sure our toddler's food was brought out before ours despite a busy kitchen as they could see he was hungry even though he was being patient. Much appreciated! The food was excellent and the beer garden at night would be a wonderful place to return to for a date as a couple, as with the candles and wildlife sounds it's like a romantic secret garden!

A traditional pub right in the middle of Corfe Castle village. Not a bad drink. Local people are very welcoming.
