The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving French food

Worst tea and coffee ever, horribly weak. Now on my avoid list.

It was a treat to come here to celebrate my parents' wedding anniversary in our bubble. Chris made us very welcome from the start, and her warmth really added to the experience, The food is excellent (not surprising given the AA Rosette awarded in the first couple of months of opening), and of course the venue of Judge Jeffreys's courtroom is special. I'm already looking forward to coming back, whether for a full meal or coffee and cake. And the basil ice cream....

My first time at Les Associes and I'll happily come back. We had a fantastic experience there: the atmosphere is very cosy, the food is exquisite and the service is great. The owner is very friendly and goes the extra mile to make you enjoy the meal. Unlike many French places in London serving pretentious food that is not even French, this place does fulfil its promise, it's a little gem in Crouch end.

We went there for the first time today as we were passing through Maldon, good prices and nice food and the service was great. We decided to sit on the benches outside and one of the staff came out to us with extra sauces and cutlery etc.

I had several takeaways during my previous visits and food quality was awesome. Visited today with family and I have no words to describe my disappointment. The portions have been reduced. The biriyani was pathetic especially the prawn was rubbery. Starters were soggy. Either the ratings are incorrect or the chef was on leave. In either case u lost a customer

Visited the restaurant by chance when visiting Derby and had a few cocktails. Served by a lovely young friendly girl and cocktails were freshly made and delicious. Food brought out around us all looked delicious - we were sad we didn’t visit earlier in the day to try the roast!

Service was very good prompt and friendly. Nice environment and lovely to hear the bells from the church. Fabulous setting and excellent food. Shame that it didn’t allow cash payment as came without cards and had to get son to pay for the meal which was embarrassing when it was supposed to be my treat.Hence the 4 stars and not 5 star review and unfortunately wouldn’t return due to this.

A fine dining restaurant in a lovely old building with beautiful views overlooking a lake. Food quality and presentation is excellent; probably the best in the area. Service now is friendly but a lot more relaxed than it was many years ago. Despite the lovely views, the decor in the restaurant feels really outdated. And the choice of 80s pop background music is quite bizarre. The lounge area, however, is much more stylish and great for a pre-dinner drink. Drinks outside on a warm summer evening are also a pleasurable experience.

Really nice lunchtime meal. We had the 2 course set meal of which I had the steak tartare followed by the belly pork. Both really nicely prepared together with a bottle of wine. It is also well catered for for children with the kids meals going down well.

Excellent food and reasonably priced, and safely out of the 200 decibels area of central Liverpool

Cannot recommend this restaurant too highly. All 5 of us agreed it's the best curry we've had for ages, packed with flavour, subtly spiced and generous portion sizes. Staff attentive and engaging too. Perfect meal, wish it was my local.

Magnificent experience. Brilliant, classic cooking, with great service and wine. Needs to be kept for special occasions. A true gem!

Mi segunda visita a La Trompette fue para almorzar. Como visité un sábado, había un menú a la carta, del que pude seleccionar tres platos por 65 GBP. Entre semana hay disponible una opción adicional con tres cursos por 45 GBP. 65 GBP por la calidad de los platos es barato, y La Trompette me parece que ofrece la mejor relación calidad-precio en todos los restaurantes con estrellas Michelin, que he visitado en Londres. El pan recién hecho y la mantequilla fueron entregados rápidamente a mi mesa, y mientras navegaba por el menú tomé un buen cóctel del bar. Con la comida me tomé media botella de una pinot gris italiana. El primer plato fue sashimi de salmón con un aderezo de ruibarbo, puntos de crema fresca y nueces de pistacho crujientes. Muy delicioso y un buen comienzo. Mi plato fuerte fue un generoso trozo de bacalao, cocinado a la perfección; esta es una cocina realmente sólida. El postre era una barra de maracuyá con mango y helado de chocolate blanco, refrescante, ligero y dulce. Por último el expreso servido con dos trufas de chocolate. La Trompette ofrece una cocina muy buena y precisa y a precios muy decentes. Muy recomendable.
