Great gaff. Lovely food and service.

We all agreed, this was one of the best dining experiences we have had in Liverpool for a very long time. The food was excellent, service fantastic and we can't wait to return. A great team providing a wonderful experience.

Excellent…..Our server (a young man from London ) was very attentive, helpful and very personable. The two chefs were also brilliant… we had the small plates menu for 4 of us. Everything was cooked to perfection! And a separate round of applause for the Homemade Apple Crumble with hot (very) custard. Really lovely afternoon, highly recommended…. we’ll be back!

Beautiful food, sorry no pictures as we were too hungry. Had scallops and duck, partner had pork belly and lamb shank. Big shout out to Conor our waiter who was very attentive, polite and good humoured.

We had an exceptional dining experience at Bistro Franc before our flight back to Singapore. Trying the best local cuisine was on our bucket list, and this highly-recommended bistro did not disappoint. Conveniently located near our hotel on Lime Street, we were warmly welcomed by Peter, our attentive server who made us feel right at home. The lamb shanks were absolutely divine - a must-try when visiting Liverpool! This hidden gem, coupled with the city's renowned hospitality and passion for football, makes Liverpool a truly unforgettable destination. You'll Never Walk Alone indeed!

Great place to meet friends for lunch

Came here on a Sunday for the Sunday roast, and wow—what a meal. Got the lamb shank, and honestly, one of the best I’ve ever had. So tender, so flavorful, and totally worth the £18 (if I remember right). But the real star? The gravy. My partner and I couldn’t get enough—we even ordered extra because it was that good. Service was top-notch too! The staff were super polite and welcoming, and one in particular stood out. I didn’t catch her name, but she worked on 9/3/2025 around 1-2 PM, and she was an absolute gem. So friendly and just made the experience even better—thank you! Loved the whole vibe too—felt like I was in a classic restaurant or something. Definitely coming back! Many thanks from Jakarta~

Second time here from Manchester – lamb shank (with extra gravy) was absolutely amazing! Will definitely be coming back for a third time. Waitress (sorry didn’t get her name) was brilliant too!

I ordered the dinner for both me and my girlfriend. The duck breast was acceptable but the sirloin steak failed to meet my expectation. I had to extract veins, was hard and definitely considering the price it was not first rate. Frites were ok, nicely prepared but regard to wedges it was different story. Red cabbage was cut on big pieces, was without taste like reheated several times. Definitely disappointing

Shared a great meal with my friend on Friday lunch time. The food was delicious, great value and the portions were a good size. I had the scallops and the roast belly pork . Special thanks to Lily who looked after us she was so nice, so were all of the other staff too, lovely people. Already recommended Bistro Jacques to my friends.

Met on arrival by Peter who was great and very hospitable. Recommended a great dish for a valentines special and his recommendation was spot on. During bottomless Prosecco Peter made sure we had plenty of drinks and other servers were available too. Kept checking on to make sure service was regular. We had amazing food and our server Conor (aspiring architect!) was lovely and very kind, the chicken was very nice and even though we were late the host was very understanding!

Came here for Valentine’s Day and Conor was amazing. Catered to our every need and provide excellent customer service. Would recommend this place and member of staff to anyone in the city.

Frozen garlic bread you get out of Lidl in a bag. £4. Dry chicken skewer that had been microwaved similar to a school dinner with dry tinned tomatoes congealed on the top. Dauphinois potato that had been clearly microwaved from frozen, with a rock hard, dry and cold “crust” on outside with was also congealed and looked months old, had clearly also been frozen and microwaved. The inside was boiling hot and watery wasn’t creamy at all. Duck ordered pink was burnt brown and tasted like a eating a bicycle seat,, pure rubber. Goats cheese salad was just lumps of plain hard goats cheese with the bits of lettuce you usually throw away. Still £40 charged. Do not go here

Lovely place, lovely staff and superb food 🥰

Friday 24th Jan I was on a first proper date. We walked in to a lovely setting and were both greeted by Alaylia. Warm and friendly welcome asked what our seating oreferenece6wpuld be. My date expressed she was cold so we where seated in a warm booth. Although the restaurant was quiet due to the bad weather we were treated like royalty. The most attentive helpful staff. We opted for the bottomless brunch and along with Peter the other server we were both spoilt rotten. Nothing was too much trouble the food was amazing and the drinks flowed. Couldnt have had a better first date thanks guys ❤️ both a credit to the venue you can't beat scouse hospitality keep up the good work

Absolutely wonderful place to enjoy a meal. Been here twice, once for dinner, another for lunch. Both times were great! Our server, Lily, was our favourite. She was friendly, attentive and gives great food great food suggestions. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Excellent food quality, tastes good. Love the Niçoise salad w seared tuna steak (my to-go dish there), lamb shank was lovely and the seasonal crumble was to-die-for. They offer some value set for 2-courses that go with wine or Prosecco on weekdays. Going to give that a try next time. Will definitely be back for more!

I came here for my last meal of 2024 and I was so happy for the decision! All staff were friendly and lovely every single moment. Foods were quick and tasty. Can't find any tiny disappointment or things to improve. I'll definitely come back for more delicious food I haven't tried. If you live in Liverpool and haven't visited this place yet, that should be shame!

We really enjoyed our dinner. Our server/host was incredible and the food was really good. We felt like we received a meal at a great value. We will definitely return.

This place made a huge impression on us. We had just arrived to Liverpool after a long day of travel, we were starving and wandering from restaurant to restaurant in that area around 2:30pm on a Friday - kept getting shown the door because there were no tables. Bistro Franc had a full night of reservations but the hostess was so great and they squeezed us into a table for 90 minutes before the next reso was due (which was more than fine, we had to be out in an hour anyway!), and they showed us so much grace and hospitality. And…the food was INCREDIBLE. That was by far one of the best meals we’d had in awhile. The duck, the kale, the service—what a fabulous start to our visit in Liverpool. So thank you to the staff who made us feel welcomed (and less hangry!). Oh, and gorgeous holiday decor. XOXO

We haven't been to Bistro for a while. Not sure why but we'll be back again soon. I'd made the reservation for Christmas but hadn't realised the Xmas menu had to be booked in advance. Fortunately for us, we spotted the prosecco deal at £35 including 2 courses from the a la carte menu. The food was fab (pate and beef bourguignon for me) and they weren't slow at topping up our bubbly. Our waiter, Eugin was brilliant and they even sang Happy Birthday to me at the end. Thanks for a great start to our night out. The prosecco certainly helped our karaoke experience!

We ordred Goats cheese salad, Chicken Supreme and Pork Belly with crushed blackpudding and apple wedges, and a side of hand cut chips. Absolutely delicious meal and so filling. Jess served us and she was very helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes. Friendly but efficient. Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Tastefully decorated for Christmas.thank you.

We booked the restaurant the night before for 5 pm for 2 people on Friday 6th December, our waiter Eugin was very friendly and attentive, we had a starter and main meal which was lovely, we ordered our desert at just gone 6.15 a few minutes later a member of staff came over and told us we had only 10 minutes left before we had to leave as we were only allowed 1 and a half hours at the table, at this point the dessert hadn't even arrived, our waiter seemed quite shocked that we had been told this, when I queried about the next table that had people eating before we arrived and were still eating and drinking then I was told because there are 3 of them on a table for 4 they can stay over 2 hours..... we didn't even have enough time for coffee. A lovely meal and evening spoiled and at this point we just wanted to leave as we felt were an inconvenience, had we been informed that Bistro Franc has a time limit for diners we would have booked elsewhere. Would have given 5 stars but unfortunately we felt like an unwelcome presence.

Service was awful, arrived and they sat us down with no menus, took 5 minutes to get them and we were not asked if we wanted a drink. Finally took our order after we asked (15mins). The waitress didn’t write it down and had to come back and ask about 7 minutes later so therefore this was another delay on food. Waited for drinks for about 20mins from sitting down. Only 2 staff working and it was busy Christmas lunch! My aperol was watered down and the food took over 50 minutes to arrive. No apologies, didn’t ask us if we wanted another drink at any point during the service. Had to ask for bill. Overall, service was awful. Will never be going back. Ruined a nice visit from my family. Food was ok but not piping hot. Cleaning products just left on the bar making it look messy and saw staff on their phones behind the bar a number of times. Been to bistro Pierre so many times and always had an amazing time, service and food so I’m disappointed and they should be concerned that bistro franc are associated with them! Not happy!

What a lovely and welcoming place this restaurant is! The minute you walk in you’re greeted by friendly and warm welcome especially by Tash and Eugen, and the choice and the quality of food is absolutely superb. Went with a group of friends (17) on Thursday 7th November and we're told we weren't eligible for the 2 course offer priced at £19.95 and we do I ended up paying £46 yesterday £46 for two courses + a small glass of house wine and a cup of coffee. The rest of the party paid a similar amount of not more because some had three courses. None of us will be going back, it's a rip off

Lovely restaurant. Our waiter gave the impression he would rather be somewhere else. Food was tasty, but not hot enough.

Amazing food and beautiful wine. Great choices for the vegetarian members of our party, they had the Ratatouille lasagne and the Franc’s Bouillabaisse. My husbands steak was perfectly cooked and the Chicken Supreme was delicious. Tash was a great host and made the night even better. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone visiting Liverpool. We will be heading back next time we are there.

We have just left this restaurant and everything from start to finish was perfect! Peter was our waiter, polite, funny, friendly but professional and made our night! The recommendations of food were spot on, the food was absolutely incredible, from start to finish it was perfect. Very reasonable priced, very much recommended this restaurant! I never leave reviews, but the service from both the waiter who greeted us at the door and the waiter who served us at the table was particularly good. They were very friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic too. We both ordered the bouillabaisse which was excellent and the wine that the waiter recommended was perfect. While we ate they kindly charged our phones as we were on a day trip to Liverpool. Next time I visit the city I will definitely return there for dinner!

Had a lovely meal here, a petit plat and a plat de resistance each, pork belly, scallops, leg of lamb, tuna steak, all excellent. Really friendly and attentive service.

We very luckily got a table yesterday, Saturday 5th October,and it was upstairs with great people watching views. All the staff are extremely attentive and very friendly and we have great food and drinks and for a off spec chance a lovely time. Will definitely be back very soon

Wanted to celebrate an anniversary with French cuisine & Franc did not disappoint. Casual dining, fine food & wine was perfect for us. Our waiter, Peter was one of the nicest & most attentive waiters I have met for a while - Essential for a perfect dining experience. The duck & filet steak was excellent & I loved my scallops & partner loved his mussels. Thank you for making our anniversary so special ❤️ Highly recommend this restaurant!

Took our little toddler grandson in today for lunch. He was hungry and getting a bit cranky. The lovely staff couldn't do enough to help and made sure we had everything we needed to keep him happy. I'd definitely recommend a visit. The food was lovely too 😋

Overpriced and terrible food. Wine very expensive (£9 for a cheap glass of white wine). Ordered sea bass - stale and salty on a tiny cat place (having said that Whiskers may be more palatable). Fish stew, won’t call it bouillabaisse as it clearly wasn’t ) had a few king prawns, cheap tiny mussels and a bit of over cooked salmon in a tomato, spicy type of soupy concoction, over priced at £22, served with three tiny slices of the horrible spongy baguette. This all felt even more of an insult as I’d just come back from France, this is a clear example of how U.K. consumers get completely ripped off often by people just here for a quick profit. Just awful in every way, seating didn’t match table height cold and uncomfortable in the restaurant. Dirty smelly toilets with no soap in the dispensers, which raises questions on how clean the rest of the restaurant is. Waiting staff were pleasant but felt over bearing when I first entered and wished I’d followed my instinct and left after being seated. Evening ruined and I was basically conned out of money by whatever unethical dodgy enterprise has decided to fleece people via this sad excuse of a restaurant. Avoid like the plague.

The food was excellent and so was the service. Our waitress,Tash, was very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about the various options on the menu. The restaurant setting was great, but it was let down but the background music, which did not seem in keeping with the French/Mediterranean style.

We were 30 minutes early but that wasn't a problem as table was already prepared for us. It was our anniversary and Francis was so nice, he offered some mocktails on the house! We ordered salmon and duck dishes which were delicious. We had to finish with a creme brulee, one of our favourites 😋 We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and Francis' services were great. We would definitely come back and dine again, possibly soon as we have a birthday coming up. Highly recommend this restaurant for French food 👍

While many Liverpool restaurants have come and gone, Bistro Franc is still going strong. And rightly so. Friendly, always reliable, a good atmosphere and excellent food and service from Tasha and her colleagues make dining here a real pleasure. One of our favourites and highly recommended.

And the customer service was the best Friendly staff the guy and the women was so chatty and bubbly and polite had great banter with both of them. Every year, I support an "Insight into University" programme by organising a meal out for around 50 people. We have been going to Bistro Franc for 2 years now, as the service always goes that extra mile. Last night, Tash, Lauren, and the other staff did absolutely everything possible to look after us. Massive tables? No problem for the team at Bistro Franc. Amazing service, great food, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Been a few times here, this time was for my daughter's 18th, purely a small family gathering, the service is good as always, but my steak was not rare, full of gristle and sinew on it, along with my sons slow cooked lamb shank, the shank bone did not want to give up the meat..!! So after well over £200 spent not the best meal out with the family at all, sorry, but your only as good as your last meal, won’t be back

Wasn't sure about the place when we walked in. But I can tell you the food was excellent an the staff were boss, really attentive without hassling us. Anyway food . Tried loads an nothing was bad. Worth a visit. I'll go back so there you go. Good work team bistro franc

We visited Liverpool for a lovely weekend.....made even better by the excellent experience at Bistro Franc. Service was friendly and quick, good selection of quality menu items and reasonably priced. Food authentic and prepared with care (compliments to the chefs). Nice warm inviting space with a upstairs section also. We booked but wasn't to busy at the time we went . We got a nice booth seat near the front window which was lovely. All in all a great experience, lovely food and well worth a visit. Thank you.

Brilliant fantastic food and service 👌 perfect

We came for Dinner and service was excellent from the start. We ordered a cabernet and a pinot noir wine with some camembert as a starter that was amazing. As a main We had duck breast and boeuf bourgignon. These two were OK but we're laking falvour unfortunately, we tried adding some salt but was still unfortunately bland. For dessert we had a cheese board, the cheese board was OK. We comparing this restaurant to its sibling restaurant the Bistro Pierre I think Bistro Pierre has better food and prices are lower so for me that is the far better one of the two.

A distinctly average French food eating experience. Food not seasoned. Too much cream in the moles not enough wine and garlic. The Gratin dauphinois was just boiled sliced potatoes with cream poured over them and cheese sprinkled on top with no garlic flavour. The beef bourguignon had fennel in it and the mash potatoe was luke warm, although the beef was very good. The Cordon bleu was unseasoned and cold in the middle. And to top it all of the portion of vegetables that came with it were cold and had to been sent back. I don't think we will be going back again. had fennel in it.

A poor day for them ... No atmosphere as apparently football took over. The Lamb shank felt like it had been waiting for a customer for sometime. It's been so good in the past ... But standards can fall.

A very relaxing environment and service with a smile. The food was delicious-steak served medium rare to perfection. Highly recommended.

Normally I don’t place reviews , however, Tash the front of house receptionist was so good at her job that I simply can’t let it go unnoticed . Having to deal with four “happy” gentlemen who continually asked stupid questions regarding the meal was just a walk in the park for her . The food and service were both excellent , so once again hats off to Tash and the staff🥳🥳🥳

A French bistro concept. Our camembert, chicken wings of chef and bouf bourgoine was all well prepared and tasteful. Very friendly and attentive staff. Recomnended and we like to return when in Liverpool again.
