Delicious treats!! Was very tempted not to share!!!! Steak and ale pie looked too good to save for lunch, so had it for brekkie.... Amazing😋.

Bought custard slice and I can truly say I’ve had better from the supermarkets. Pastry was tough and custard was grainy. Maybe I was just unlucky as previous reviews are all 5*. They were grossly over-priced too!

Love this place, such a lucky find. We now go here for our weekly bread and treat shop. The olive bread is a staple and we live the filled baguettes.

This is a fantastic local bakery, serving fresh baked bread, cakes, patisseries, and more. Coffee/ Tea is available to take away. Tried the sourdough bread and lemon drizzle cake. Both are excellent. You might find parking a struggle as there is very limited street parking, but it is worth the hassle. Recommended

Pros: - The shop is super cute. - Cakes are really yummy. - Good selection of food. - Slightly overpriced but for the cakes it's worth the money. Cons: - Very little signage to confirm what's in the toasties or sandwiches. - They add random ingredients - Goats cheese tart had sardines or some kind of fish and olives? Or mustard in all of their toasties. - Rude staff, often have to try and get there attention. I have been buying lunch from artisan for a couple of months, since moving into the area. Unfortunately I won't be going back from today. My partner often goes into the shop takes a picture of what's available and then calls me, today there wasn't a great selection as we went at 1pm which is late. That didn't matter but he had to ask a few questions about the food to confirm what was in each one, as although the signs may say cheese and ham toastie, they often have some additional ingredient. For example mustard. As I'm allergic to mustard I opted for the goats cheese tart. My partner asked the lady what was in the goats cheese tart and confirmed the vegetables in it. At no point did the lady say that there were fish in the tart. I would not have ordered it if I had known as I really dislike fish. Unfortunately this isn't the first time this has happened, and it really ruins the experience. I would let the shop know personally as I prefer not to write a review but after an instance where they were rude to me for pronouncing a cake incorrectly I haven't been in personally since. It's a shame as again the cakes and sandwiches are nice, I just wish they were more upfront with the ingredients and perhaps could avoid an allergic reaction or wasted money.

Lovely patisserie, everything is always top quality. For the first time I tried their vegan sausage roll. I am not a vegan but it looked so tempting and didn't disappoint - tasty flaky pastry generously filled with a delicious mushroom based filling. I also bought an individual Paris Brest, as expected this was perfect - crisp choux pastry with a beautiful praline cream, not just whipped crem as you sometimes get in other places. Service was very friendly, and the shop looked inviting with beautiful spring floral decorations.

This is my favourite patisserie and bakery. The bread is delicious, the croissants so popular you need to arrive early to get your favourites and the patisserie is amazing. The staff are warm and chatty and it is always a treat to go there. The Xmas and Easter specials are always amazing too. Very lucky to live near this place!

I went throughout 2017 but couldn't select past Dec 22 for this review. Although a bit on the pricey side, but their pineapple coconut tart is extremely decadent!! I wish I could have it again.

Wonderful pastries, cakes and breads. I'm French, so having this place down the road is a small reminder of home. You pay a lot but it's worth it!

My favourite bakery. Everything is excellent. We ordered a black forest gateau for a birthday. It was delicious and a really reasonable price. If you're ever in Calderstones Park it's worth the walk.

This is an ideal place to eat if you like homemade food with a difference there is always a good selection and cakes to die for

To this day, 5 years from last visit (too long I know!), I can't shake off my craving for their pineapple and passionfruit tart, it was simply to die for. Super Yum!!

Great pastries, great sandwiches, great service. Not tried the coffee yet. Everything tastes as good as it looks, so far. It's a struggle to stay away.

Food was lovely as always, but was served by an unfriendly lady who made it seem like we were inconveniencing her for ordering. It’s always a nice treat when we come here, but I left feeling worse than when I went in.

Lovely little bakery, offering both savoury and sweet treats. Turkey sausage are to dye for and their strawberry tart is great to match Can be a little on the pricy side but that's what is expected for homebaked goods like these. Also found that some items are not as good as others, but also to be expected. Overall, will keep coming back

Fantastic bakery and sandwich shop. Sandwiches are amazing and the bread is just fantastic. Reminds me of those lovely bakeries in France.

No exaggeration, This is the only bakery we have found in the UK so far to compare to the French boulangeries. So very worth the effort to get to the location, will definitely be back. We had a chocolate and pear pastry, croissant, pain au chocolat, Madeline and a baguette and each item was exceptionally delicious. Saw a few folk mentioning the price in reviews, sure, it’s not your typical British bakery, it’s quality over quantity and I am more than happy to pay for that quality, I couldn’t find anything this decent whilst living in London for years. (Note for those visiting by car that aren’t local, parking around this area isn’t great, if all the spots on the main street are snapped up finding a quiet road to park for 5 mins is a pain.)

Gorgeous little shop selling an array of divine pastries (sweet and savoury), cakes and sandwiches on their own delicious home-baked breads. The staff are super friendly, too. The only criticism is that it's impossible to choose what to have! I wish the city centre shop had survived the pandemic.

Just been in this shop.I asked the lady,whilst on the phone to my wife, what they had on the menu. She gladly went through every sandwich. Ploughman's and spicy Prawns we settled for. A lemon merengue and apple crumble tart for afters. Absolutely fantastic,a real treat..

It's a shame it was closed due to holidays! Was very disappointed as we did make an effort to stop by on our way to Manchester. Should've really updated their business hours on Google not to let customers down.

Artisane's baguettes and croissants are as good as you'll get in France. Place is a godsend. All the other stuff is there too. Sourdough loaves, white sliced, very fancy patisserie and killer sossie rolls. Be prepared to queue outside.

Amazing cakes and fantastic service. Definitely worth a visit

I've been here twice and been disappointed both times. There has been a half an hour queue on both occasions and the staff seemed unapproachable. The biggest disappointment is the gulf between the price and the quality. I paid 6.75 for a distinctly average sourdough; one which I would expect from Tesco for £1.50. I try to support independent businesses but unfortunately my experiences here have only been negative.

Brings out the willpower in me.. I WILL have all the bread ,cakes, pies that are left (not usually many as they are very quickly gone)..Im not strong enuff to deny myself..ie WONTpower. Love this place.

Whilst waiting in the queue this week I was shocked that so many people were being served whilst not wearing masks. Two young men spent considerable time in the bakery followed by another individual who again was not wearing a mask. Really shocked so left and went home. Such a shame as great bakery.

Wow what a wonderful selection of cakes and breads the coffee is great too. I would recommend having a look huge selection of cakes you cant get anywhere else.

Never had such a savoury and rich sausage roll so full of herbs still trying to work out what the herbs were. The spanish quiche was so full of flavour could still taste it in my mouth about an hour later. Nice to have this place local to me much better than the usual junk food.

Absolutely fantastic French bakery selling bread, croissants, quiches, patisserie and baguettes. All beautifully made and so delicious. They also sell hot drinks and rather tasty coffee. There was a queue when we arrived and apparently there's nearly always one,pandemic or not. I live in London where there are loads of French bakeries but the pain au raisin I had here was the best I've ever had. Long may they continue. Vive la France!

At the time of writing this review, I have been regularly going to this patisserie for approx one month now and In my opinion, this is the best in Liverpool! The staff are very helpful and friendly, especially Annalise. The bread, cakes and pasties have a very French buttery and satisfying taste. All the ingredients used taste so fresh, I imagine all the food is made first thing in the morning. I have tried lots of things but my favourites are; the lentil pasty, chilli chicken sandwich, the strawberry tart and the latte. The lentil pasty is the best pasty I've ever tasted. The balance of flavours, spice and textured is unique. Artisane is the place to go to for me for my lunch now. Keep up with the excellent work guys!

Anything here is delicious. Never tasted sausage rolls like here. Absolutely gorgeous. Cakes, pastries and bread were just amazing. Very 3expensive, but worth it for a treat

Esperé en la cola unos buenos 15 minutos. Pero la espera valió la pena. compramos el pan unas tortas y una baguette. ¡Asombroso! ! ! Sin embargo, chicos, necesito decirles que en estos tiempos del virus Corona deben usar una mascarilla y guantes. Es preocupante pensar que has estado tocando y manejando el dinero de muchos clientes diferentes y pasando bolsas sin guantes y una mascarilla. Te hubiera dado 5 de no ser por esto.

Bought Nordic bread, almond croissants and cakes. Took them home to devour. As usual they were all delish, what a place, it is one of our favourites. Service was quick, smiley and helpful.

Beautiful produce, wonderful selection of fine savouries, sweets, breads and much more on offer, welcoming, kind, attentive, polite, curteous and very professional staff waiting to serve, oh ! The coffees are delightful too.

Just look this place they always have really tempting cakes and croissant. Totally recommend this place.

He estado aquí varias veces y siempre me ha parecido agradable.Lamentablemente el último sábado fue la última vez que visité aquí, la rubia que me sirvió fue increíblemente grosera. Pedí un croissant de almendras y me dijeron que de una manera inesperada estaban esperando una entrega, les pregunté si vendían tortas enteras y me dijeron de una manera grosera que estaban esperando una entrega, entonces pregunté qué había dentro de una torta solo para Ella a suspirar y murmurar una respuesta. Fui el primer cliente del día, así que no era como si estuviera llegando al final de un turno ocupado y se habían vendido los artículos, ¡eran las 09:00!La señora no me dio las gracias / adiós una vez que pagué y simplemente me mudé a la persona que estaba detrás de mí y dijo "sí señor". Hay demasiadas panaderías bonitas e independientes en Liverpool como para intentarlo.

Called in to buy some bread, managed to resist buying any of their scrummy cakes. Bought a two cereal loaf and a Nordic loaf. They were both delish, the Nordic has a very strong taste but I like it.

The cakes in here are a work of art and they taste fantastic. The kids school is over the road so been here quite a lot and we all love it..

Popped in to buy some confectionery as a gift but walked away once I enquired the price. A pack of 8 Macarons nearly £10! A really nice bakery, but the prices are extortionate for L16.

Great place in the area. Get in early for the butties as they are spot on. Little expensive for the area as other places are cheaper but you are also paying for far better quality.

This is heaven! The food is delicious. Every Monday I stop by with my little girl to allow her a choice of a pastry. I have to buy a baguette at the same time! Staff are really friendly too

Stopped off to choose some of their yummy cakes and a loaf of their bread. We chose an eclair, a passion fruit, a strawberry tart and a sourdough loaf. They were all Delish. Fab place fab food.

If you love your pastries it's the place to go for sublime french cakes , and handmade bread, filled baguettes, top quality, a bit pricey but you get what you pay for mmmmmm.

Expensive but worth it. We purchased some cakes and their olive bread - which was gorgeous. Nice for a special occasion if you're looking for something a little but different.
