Bistro Pierre in Liverpool

Great food and wine, brilliant service and charming atmosphere. You need to be noise tolerant as music from downstairs is invasive.

We went there on a Wednesday jazz night. Food was outstanding and the young duo playing jazz were great. Our wait person (maybe Janine) was warm and friendly and the menus items we selected were outstanding. Would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for something a bit more upscale without upscale prices

The food and service were good and outstanding, but the ambience was affected by the live entertainment, I knew there was going to be live music, but it was too loud, we were moved away but then told the singer would be near us from 7pm. I had booked to be able to chat to my new family and this was very difficult to do after 7.15pm

5 of us visited on a busy Saturday evening. Friendly greeting at the door when we first arrived. All the staff were friendly and aware of the various allergies. Everyone really enjoyed their food, all dishes were tasty and well presented. This little restaurant is well worth a visit if you are in Liverpool.

Lovely French restaurant with great service from Rossa, and the food was super nice . It has a fixed price menu which is very reasonably priced . Will certainly come again .

As a group of elderly ladies we were all very impressed with both the food and the service. It is not easy to serve a large group of chattering ladies, but they did it. We will certainly return in the Autumn

I’ve had better crème brûlée before. Bowl was chipped! The shrimp linguine was not bad taste wise but was too oily and there was only 5 pieces of shrimp! Overpriced for what it is but at least they offer student discount. I would have taken the 3 course menu but unfortunately there were no halal options, even the fish option contained alcohol. No one was willing to accommodate. I wasn’t happy with the customer service, I felt like I was not welcome and their body language made me feel like they were forced to serve me. For example, the waiter that brought the main course just placed the plate in front of me and ran off even though it was not busy. He didn’t smile, he didn’t say enjoy your meal or anything. It was also difficult to grab their attention, I had to stand up by the door for someone to come and take my payment. Perhaps they’re not used to having Muslim customers, not an excuse really. Will not return.

Met up with friends for lunch, we all had the 2 course menu, mussels starter and olive starters, main was 1 x Vegetarian Ratatouille, 2 x Chicken in creamy wine sauce & 1 x Mussels. Food and ambience were superb, and can't forget to mention Luke the Waiter who made our experience at Bistro Pierre one not to be forgotten, we will return soon.

A group of nine enjoyed a tasty meal on Tuesday 20th August, 2024. The service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere relaxing and welcoming.

Attentive and engaging service. Quite traditional menu and well prepared. It wasn't busy, being a Monday lunchtime and it was nice having time to chat to the staff Toni and Luke. The chef is practically spherical and very jolly. All the assurance you need.

We went there for a date lunch and we were really happy. The place is so nice and have this rustic vintage vibes with songs adding to the atmosphere. The food and service was delightful, hopefully they will bring back the escargot soon. Shall definitely go back.

The best French restaurant I tried during my stay in the region.

Great food and service. Big portions! We had the French onion soup to start, duck and beef bouguion for mains then cherry pie and creme brulee for dessert. We will definitely be coming back again

My wife and I enjoyed an absolutely delightful meal here on Sunday evening. The food - scallops and frogs' legs, followed by lamb and steak frites - was superb, and the wine we had with the main course was inexpensive and everything a French Pinot Noir should be. The service, both from our waitress and the manager, was friendly and attentive, and we would heartily and sincerely recommend that if a lover of French food and staying in Liverpool, you find time to have a meal here. You will not be disappointed.

I recently visited this restaurant with my friends for my birthday. I’ve lost count now how many times I’ve been here, every once in a while we visit a different restaurant just for variety but nothing ever seems to come close to here. Always friendly and attentive waiting on staff, always know what they’re doing. Always a fabulous menu with something for everyone (the plates of vegetables are always fresh and tasty ) The set menu deals are great value And the ambiance of the restaurant is rustic French at its best Always leave feeling full and happy Their cheesecakes are the best ever! Can’t wait t I’m return again soon And would definitely recommend.

Been going here for years. The only thing that had changed you only get 1/2 bottle of free wine with your meal. In the past each person got a bottle of wine on the wine & Dine meal.

Reviews speak for themselves. The food is amazing. Onion soup and pork cracking were excellent and highly recommended. Come on Wednesdays for great value the deal for 2 courses and wine.

mon dieu c'était épouvantable This was not only one of the worst French meals I’ve had, it was one of the poorest I have ever had. menu sounds good: pan-roasted lamb rump cooked medium or well done sliced served on top of garlic crushed new potatoes and a mint salsa verde = rubbery lamb chunks, on spuds dowsed in mint sauce (£25.50) pan fried duck breast with tenderstem broccoli, pan fried potato and a red wine jus - read rubber duck covered in loads of bisto gravy (£22) (kids) homemade breaded chicken nuggets served with fries and a petit salad = deep fried bought in southern fried chicken with chips (£8.95) Dauphinoise potatoes arrived after we’d finished our mains, and appeared to be potatoes microwaved with cheese. One of the guests had the fish and said it was fine, so not a complete write off. Perhaps should have known after we arrived given how quiet the restaurant was on a Thursday night and having seen the state of the gents The restaurant has a good Trip Advisor score which is very mysterious. Though appears to be propped up by a lot of reviewers who have only ever reviewed this restaurant. We really should have complained at the time, but didn’t as we were too polite and too English. Makes me feel a little bit sick knowing how much we spent on this meal though. About as French as that bloke out of ‘Allo ‘Allo and less competent at passing for French food. Truly awful

My friend and I went to this Bistro last night( Friday ) and really enjoyed it. Place is lovely and the food delicious. We were served by Joe who went out of his way to make sure we were seated comfortably etc. A great experience and would certainly go again

Unfortunately didn’t manage to eat there as my girlfriend was feeling unwell but our server Joe was an absolute legend, did all he could to satisfy us and ensured we felt welcome. We will be returning to eat, thank you so much Joe!

Pleasant atmosphere, good food and reasonable price

We went last night for my birthday! the staff are so lovely and friendly and sang a very loud happy birthday! We will go back for each one of my friends birthdays 1000%. If you don’t go there you’re a fool , just saying🫣

Had. Mussels for starters.. they where so small they need steroids.. disappointed.. we had the 2 courses for £25.. main was Steak.. medium rare.. looked good but was very chewy. And the steak knife was not sharp. Again disappointed.. plus points, lovely staff.. and the Red wine was great. I've been once before and had the beef bourguignon. Which was fantastic. Must have been one of those nights on my latest visit. My guests also had the same steak same thoughts, but they had prawn cocktail and scallops. For starters Which where lovely.

Really good, reasonably priced food, friendly and helpful staff, great atmosphere too. Me and my husband always enjoy our meals at Bistro Pierre. Their tomato soup is the best I've ever tasted, I can highly recommend it.

Great cosy atmosphere. Fixed price menu a bit limited for choice but excellent value. Much more choice on the a la crate menu. Food served quickly and hot. Service above and beyond. All details below were discussed with manager prior to leaving. Unfortunately we didn't have a good meal here which was disappointing. My wife had scallops which were very salty ,and then the loup de mer. The fish smelt very fishy and after a few bites she said it tastes funny. She is a huge fish eater so knows her stuff. I discussed the matter with manager who was very helpful. I hope we just visited on an off day as the menu looked good and previous reviews were good .

A lovely bistro style restaurant. We just happened upon it while looking for a place for dinner. We were very fortuate in our choice. Joe our waiter was excellent. The bouillabaisse my husband had was one of the best ever and my sea bass was excellent. Highly recommend this place.

What a lovely restaurant in the heart of the Cavern Quarter. The ambience is really nice and unique in comparison to other places in Liverpool. A variety of food is given that fits to every taste you could ask a French gastronomy for. It was delicious and the waiters were always kind and attentive. Rounded off by the background music, this restaurant is worth a visit for sure!

We went to the bistro Jacques 15 years ago when we visited Liverpool, we had wonderful experience and great food. However it has closed after all these years. But two of restaurant out of the three Bistro Pierre and Bistro Franc are still open doors. We came to Bistro Pierre and it wasn't disappointed and we tasted the same food again. Great food , warming services , best potato gratin ever Big portions of Beef stew red wine and potato mash. Pan fired sea bass was fresh and wonderful. We will comeback again

Fantastic restaurant. Very friendly staff. Excellent food. The fixed price menu is fantastic value for money. £25 for two delicious courses plus a yummy cocktail. Definitely recommend.

The venue is pleasant, service is excellent and the food was superb. We left happy and full! I had the soup and the chicken and my friend the pate and fish, all was delicious. My friend ordered extra chips and there was enough for 4 people. Highly recommend!

My daughter selected Bistro Pierre for her birthday dinner as she always enjoys the experience. As usual the food and service were very good. They made a special effort for my daughters birthday celebration. Only complaint would be the noise from the bar below.

Busy at wednesdays when they have their two course deal with wine. Reserve your table. Lovely ambience and atmosphere. Very kind and professional waiters. Our choices of onion soup, goat cheese balls, sea brass and moules frites were all excellent and with healthy portions. Next time we come back from Norway we will definitly eat here.

Fransk bistro på engelskt sätt. Eftersom den ligger i partidistriktet i Liverpool var det mycket hög ljudvolym på lördagskvällen. Speciellt som bistron ligger över en bar med livemusik. Menyn består av typiska franska rätter, och pilgrimsmusslorna och ankan jag åt var riktigt bra. Äppelpajen var väl mer medelmåttig. Bra viner på glas och trevlig personal. Välj hellre en annan tid än lördag kväll för ett besök.

Here on a trip to Liverpool with my sister and daughter. We found this absolutley beautiful French bistro! Amazing food, amazing value and equally amazing servers. Nowhere else was of this standard. Most highly recommend!

Gorgeous little place food is amazing

Another excellent meal in Bistro Pierre. The Chateauneuf Du Pape is one of the best examples of the wine that we've had anywhere. Great service from Joe and Joao and nice to briefly meet the chef at the end of our meal. We'll be back again!

Went for meal with friends, staff were very attentive at all times, we were served by Joe, Ella and Gregory and they couldn’t do enough for us, we told them we were out for a birthday meal and they gave us all a free desert. Had a lovely meal with a friend who I hadn't seen for 45 years! Restaurant was very busy and we had to wait a long time before courses. The main course arrived but unfortunately wasn't hot so we had to send it back to the kitchen. Joe was most polite and friendly and rectified this. The good when returned was lovely. A cold Sunday morning see me out and about early,pop in to the Bistro of Pierre for a well need breakfast. Well I have started my Keto Diet today so my choice was an easy one scrambled eggs no bread it was lovely. ☺️
