Where to start... My husband treated me to such a special experience at The Ritz Restaurant for our 1st wedding anniversary on the 7th October, from start to finish the whole visit was just incredible, the staff are amazing extremely attentive and right on point with everything, the food we had was nothing short of utterly outstanding, topped off by a lovely anniversary cake and card, Thankyou Ritz for making our day so special.

This venue is definitely a must for a 5* dining experience. The place itself is beautiful throughout and the pianist adds to the ambience. The staff and service in the bar and the restaurant were highly Experienced and professional but were also friendly. The menu is mouth watering and the food was just delicious and top class. It was exactly what we expected from an award winning chef. It is more expensive than what one would normally pay for a meal as you would imagine but for a special occasion or just a visit to sample the cocktails, wine and food, I would highly recommend it. I will definitely dine there again in future 👍🍸

I recently had the pleasure of having lunch at the Ritz’s restaurant and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The ambiance is elegant and refined, with a beautiful classic design. The staff was exceptional- very attentive, friendly and kind, every detail was taken care of with professionalism, making the experience even more special. The lunch menu was absolutely delicious. Over the top atmosphere looks almost like palace of Versailles inside there. Food was matching the over the top atmosphere and service was exceptional. Get the crepe Suzette. You won’t regret it 😍

Myself and my friend went for dinner last Thursday to celebrate her birthday. We arrived early and wanted to grab a drink but was told the bar was full. We saw some tables by the restaurant and asked if we could have a drink before we sat. The lady at the door went to bar and said we could sit on the tables outside that area so we did. After a few moments we noticed we had not been approached for a drinks order so I got up and asked for the menu which was a bit annoying. None the less the drinks were lovely and snacks a nice touch. We made our way into the restaurant which was stunning. Service was impeccable, from the somilier who started me off with a glass of pink champagne to helping us choose our wines. To the servers who seamlessly delivered our meals and cleared our plates. Amuse bouche was wonderful and well seasoned, followed by this incredible sourdough loaf which was warm! My starter was crab and my friend had pumkin (she is vegetarian and appreciated a separate menu for herself). My main Grouse and hers courgette flowers. The only complaint of the whole meal is she disliked her main saying it was mainly cous cous and lacked anything else. My main was the best piece of game I've ever had and the sauce was incredible. Dessert a chocolate souffle has to have been the best souffle ever and my friend enjoyed her dessert. A wonderful touch with a surprise birthday cake for my friend. Cocktails in the hall again to finish a wonderful meal out. It's not cheap but boy is it worth it. Just maybe a slight tweak at the vegetarian mains is needed?

There are a couple of reviews on this Beautiful Restaurant that are totally out of character to all others. They have been added by reviewers with no other reviews. Don’t be fooled by them. It’s a fabulous classical restaurant steeped in history. The service is the best in London. The food is exceptional. Yes it’s expensive but that’s why it’s all so stylish. It will give you a lifetime memory. If you don’t enjoy this level of service and experience don’t go. For everyone who does this is an experience not to miss.

OMG! How to explain The Ritz. We went to the Summer Ball. It was amazing, everyone was so friendly. The staff were perfect, helpful and charming. The Food was glorious and the other guests were so genuine. Can't wait to go back

It's The Ritz! What other review could there be? Of course the food is perfect. You can argue about the taste, some dishes were not to my liking, but that's my personal opinion. The only thing that is perfect is the desserts. The service is top-notch. The waiters are very polite and helpful. Sometimes almost too much. The prices are crazy, sure. But it's the The Ritz.

It’s a wow experience-from the food, entertainment and service-we’ll be back for sure! We loved each course-all presented as works of art-the appetizer-salad-sea bass-beef Wellington-crepes Suzette-Champagne-Port-entertainment… Staff makes you feel like royalty with an off the charts experience Jazz vocalist we’ve heard him sing at another venue in London and he’s fantastic-combining his talent with the 5pc band and then the performances by the dancing couple…vintage 20-30s era performance Worth every penny as the most expensive meal in London every year! They deserve more than the 12.5% tip and we gave them their due!

Always a pleasure to dine at The Ritz!

Brought my 91 year old mother here for lunch to celebrate her Birthday. I had booked the set lunch menu. The service from before we entered the building was first class. My mother is in a wheelchair and so we require a little more attention than abled body people. As we approached the hotel entrance we were net by the doorman with a smoky and we exchanged a few friendly words as they brought us to the side entrance where they setup the ramp. The waiting staff were very friendly and handled my sense of humour well. The ambience is wonderful, the restaurant for lunch is a lot quieter than the palm court where afternoon tea is served. We opted for the 3 course set menu but it was much than a three course meal, we were served with Amuse Boucheron, warm sour dough bread with salted butter and the following our three course meal we had some further sweet treats with tea and coffee. They also presented my mother with a birthday cake. It was such a wonderful experience that we then retired to the lounge area outside the Rivioli bar where I ordered a vesper martini and we sat and listened to the fantastic pianist. Mother did fall asleep. A Bell boy then assisted us with getting the ramp for the wheelchair. It is not a cheap experience for a boy from the Welsh Valleys but it was totally worth it and we recieved far more than expected on terms of quantity of food and Service. It was nice to have a quick chat with William from Brecon and Lucy who looked after us during the meal. I am looking for another opportunity to go back soon.

I came here with my fiance, ready to have a delicious meal and great experience. The experience was okay. And the food wasn’t good at all. I spent a lot of money here to basically not enjoy my meal. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

It was very great. I choose Ritz to celebrate a very special holiday closing my daughter’s summer camp in London. The place is just royalty! The service is speechless. It seems like people are there to guess what you want! The food was also so nice. The Wellington beef was a very choice. Additionally the music show put you in a movie’s scene. It is a once lifetime experience. Thanks to Ritz staff!

Atmosphere was great, the food was terrible and the service was okay. They made me feel like a bum because I was American and didn’t want to wear a fancy suit. Sucks I didn’t get the beef Wellington because I feel like my experience would’ve been great if I did, instead I got a raw pigeon that gave me food poisoning and duck liver which I’m sure others like but I sure didnt

Such a shame visiting the ritz. I went with my best friend who had travelled from Dubai. We were instantly judged as we’d walked through the restaurant to the terrace but thought it’s fine we’re here for a drink, experience etc. to confirm we were in nice clothes, my friend was in a monochrome dress and me in a mesh blouse and white denim skirt. We were expecting the best service as it’s the ritz, we were left outside waiting to order our drinks for 15 minutes and then once finished our drinks we waited 20 mins for someone to ask if we wanted another or ask for the bill. No one came so we went inside and said we needed to settle the bill, the server had gotten my friends drink wrong so she corrected the bill which left us standing awkwardly at the serving table waiting for 5 minutes whilst being judged by the tables in front. It honestly gave pretty women vibes. We’re two successful young women who wanted a nice drink in a nice setting, honestly it’s completely tainted my thoughts on the hotel. It’s a shame to say but I will not be visiting again.

This was an afternoon tea visit

Our first dinner here was exceptional and despite the high cost we will be returning. Lovely traditional ambience, spacious and with pleasant piano music. Exceptional knowledgeable service always prompt but not hurrying and particularly good with wine recommendations. Delicious food, between us we had crab, langoustines, veal, turbot, cheese and caramelised apple with tasty sauces.

The dining room is simply stunning; completely over the top but it works. Service was attentive without being stuffy. Food was beautifully presented and simply delicious. They had obviously taken a simple menu and had some real fun with it. We knew it would be expensive so no problem with the price tag. A great experience and we’ll be back for more.

We so enjoyed our lunch. The set menu even included vegetarian options. The ambience, the service, and the fineness of the food offerings were all impressive and exceeded even our expectations, which were certainly high! Indeed beforehand we almost thought that the experience would be a little too fancy and snooty, but that was not the case at all. The care and concern was evident in everything from ensuring we were comfortable in our seats to checking on us throughout the meal and even giving us an additional dessert when there was a mistake in our order. My only quibbles would be that there was not a written menu for the tea selections, which I would have liked to see and peruse to make my choice, and the china sets that were used somewhat clashed with the interior.

I recently celebrated my birthday at The Ritz restaurant and I must say, it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and promptly seated without any waiting. To kick off the celebration, we were treated to a lovely glass of champagne, setting the perfect tone for the evening. The ambiance was charming, and the staff were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. The culinary journey began with beautifully presented starters that were not only visually appealing but also bursting with flavor. Each bite was a delightful surprise, and it left us eagerly anticipating the rest of the meal. The main course was a true highlight of the day. It was not only delicious but also served with professionalism and attention to detail. To top off the day, we indulged in the most amazing dessert. It was a sweet and decadent finale that perfectly capped off an already fantastic experience. Overall, my birthday celebration at Ritz was nothing short of amazing. The combination of excellent food, impeccable service, and a welcoming atmosphere made it a night to remember. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special dining experience. I can't wait to return for another memorable meal.

Stunning location. One of the most beautiful dining rooms in the world. Impeccable service. The sommelier, whose name I sadly did not capture, was superb and the gentleman who prepared the Crêpes Suzette was excellent. Wonderful food. I had the langoustines à la nage, followed by the Beef Wellington and then the aforementioned Crêpes Suzette. All were out of the top drawer. I’m deducting a star on the atmosphere front as the piano music, whilst of a very good standard, isn’t necessary in an elite restaurant. Still, that’s just my subjective opinion. Quite how Michelin deem the Ritz Restaurant worthy of only one star is a bit of a mystery; I have been eating at such establishments for over thirty years and this is amongst the best. I will most definitely be back soon.

Here is something I do not understand! The Ritz Restaurant serves the most high-end, creative and unique British food in the entire city of London. Yet it only holds 1 Michelin star! This is unthinkable as there are so many "stolen" stars elsewhere and here we are talking about the top-end, the ultimate culinary experience you can get. This restaurants deserves 3 stats, end of story! You cannot go wrong with it! Prepare to spend a good amount of money for your meal, but in my view it is worth every penny as, again, I believe it is the best restaurant in London!

Arranged for my father to bring my daughter to London to have lunch with my wife and I at 1:45pm (last lunch sitting). My father decided to ignore my requests and eventually turned up at 2:25pm and had instructed my daughter to wear casual clothes rather than a pretty dress; the Ritz (which has a strict dress code) were fantastic about the late arrival and the casual attire and organised some cocktails for my wife and I while we waited. The menu isn't exactly what I would call great, to be honest it is very overpriced for what you get but the food is good enough and really, it's not about the food, it’s all about the experience. The service here is second to none (I have never experienced service as good anywhere else in the world). The wine list is quite literally a book with some amazing choices. The ambience of the restaurant is also excellent. The sommelier had to be the most knowledgeable wine person I have ever had the fun to talk to and we ended up getting both a beautiful white (for our starters) and red (for our mains). The final bill was in the 4 digits but that’s to be expected and we all had a great time. In short don't go for the food but please do go and you will have an excellent experience.

I went for lunch as it was my Birthday and had an amazing time. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful. We had the weekday set menu which was good value for where you are and I would love to return for a special occasion.

One of the best dining experiences in London, if not the world. You can’t go wrong with menu choices here, but the standout is without a doubt the legendary beef wellington. Shared between two, with foie gras in the centre and optional truffle shavings, it is truly indulgent but an incredible gastronomical experience. Not to neglect the exemplary service, the sommeliers, waiters and waitresses here are second to none.

By far one of the best dining experiences I've had. We tried one of their tasting menus. It didn't disappoint. Sophisticated menu, impeccable service, elegant atmosphere and an excellent wine selection. Highly, highly recommend.

My wife and I recently dined at The Ritz for a 3-course tasting menu, and while the experience had its highlights, there were notable drawbacks. First, the ambiance is exceptional. The dining room, entrance, and hotel lobby are elegant, opulent, and tastefully decorated, setting a luxurious tone. The service is first-class, as one would expect from a Michelin-starred establishment. The presentation and taste of the dishes were impeccable, showcasing the culinary expertise you anticipate from such a prestigious venue. However, the portion sizes were extremely disappointing. They were so small that, had I not had a hearty Turkish meal the night before, I would have considered raising a complaint. The portions bordered on stingy, lacking the generosity you might expect. This venue is not suitable for young adults or growing children, as the portion sizes would not satisfy their appetites. Additionally, the prices are quite high, which feels unjustified given the minimal amount of food provided, especially for a lunchtime setting. Overall, while the quality of the food and the dining experience were impressive, the portion sizes and value for money leave much to be desired.

London has some amazing, innovative and trendy restaurants but The Ritz remains the benchmark of fine dining. The food is immaculately presented and the service and ambiance are faultless. It's also worth booking for cocktails at the Rivoli Bar before dining.

An absolute must, a real experience. Something special. We did the 7.30 evening tea and that was a different experience to a daytime.

A slightly timeless place, high standard service and classic decor. Calm atmosphere, fairly subdued lighting. The menu is interesting and the proposals remarkable. This evening we enjoyed a succulent half-mourning chicken cooked in a bladder, and presented in 2 courses. This is definitely an institution not to be missed, as long as you can afford it.

A lunch at The Ritz restaurant is the epitome of a top-notch service. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like royalty. The staff politeness level was off the charts. The dining hall was like stepping into a scene from a fancy movie. Everything is just so darn luxurious, from the table settings to the ambiance. They even pull out your chair and lay the napkin on your lap – talk about feeling like a VIP. The food was not just food, it was art on a plate. Each dish is a masterpiece, both in presentation and taste. The waitstaff got everything down to a science, from serving each dish with finesse, to switching our utensils for every course, to making sure our water glass is never empty. The live music, with the pianist playing softly in the background, added an extra touch of magic to the experience, making the atmosphere even more relaxing and special. All in all, dining at The Ritz is an experience we won't soon forget. It's all about the superb service, the luxurious vibes, and of course, the mouthwatering food.

Yet another five star review to add to the large collection but, frankly, it is so deserving of it. Went with my wife to the famous Tea at The Ritz and we could not have been happier with the experience. The setting is a delight, the food is beyond wonderful and the staff ,oh the staff, from the waiters to the door staff and beyond they are friendly, helpful and there when you need them without being intrusive. We got chatting to a few staff members and it was a common theme that they had been there for many years and had no intention of leaving anytime soon. Their standards are of the highest quality and the training shines through. A fabulous experience and one that we will certainly repeat.

Wonderful afternoon tea experience

Excellent stay as always, the staff are amazing and accommodating. Old school charm and sophisticated luxury. Afternoon tea was lovely. Our whole stay was magical. It seemed effortless even with the expansion of the hotel next door. I hope it loses none of its values and charm when it’s finished.

We went for afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday and we weren’t disappointed! The room was stunning and the staff as you’d would expect were superb. The selection of sandwiches and cakes was plentiful and the champagne added to the booking was the icing on the cake.. we can’t wait to go back again.

4 star rating relative to Michelin starred restaurants. Obviously the food is splendid and the atmosphere is unique old school England. Great for a special occasion. We loved the langoustine appetizer, spectacular in a delicious creamy sauce. The duck was wonderful, with an exquisite shimmering sauce, just like it should be. My wife had the veal, which would have been better if more rare. For dessert we shared the banana souffle, sans chocolate sauce-- against the advice from the waiter. But it was delicious. Great place for old school charm, without the old school cooking.

It was our 42nd wedding anniversary and we thought our son had booked us into the Ritz for their famous afternoon tea, but in fact he had booked a lunch experience. The whole experience was brilliant from the start, from the initial greeting by the door staff to the cloakroom attendant, the welcome at the Rivoli bar to the actual meal itself. My wife and I shared the leg of lamb, while my son and niece shared the whole Bresse duck as our mains on the 3 course lunch menu. Both were carved at the table by the knowledgeable staff who took the time to explain each course in detail —this extended to the starters, mains, desserts, amuse bouche even the petit fours. The presentation, the formality and of course the exquisite surroundings of the main dining room with a pianist were beyond reproach as was the quality of the food and impeccable service throughout. Of course all this does not come cheap and our final bill which included cocktails, champagne, wine and coffee came to a four figure amount. It’s affordable only for a special occasion and as a final nice touch we were presented with a small anniversary cake and card to take home. All in all a lovely experience but unlikely to be repeated on a regular basis. We even saw some famous faces also dining there at the same time.

We visited for our wedding day on a Friday when the live music and dancing happens which is truly special and an amazing experience. Getting a reservation was tough so all I will say is plan ahead and hustle. Note this is not the same spot as where the afternoon tea happens. FOOD We went for the 7 course set meal which was overall fantastic, some dishes were better than others such as the red mullet and the lobster dish. The duck liver was a little too sweet for me on the other hand. I must say by the time we arrived to dessert we were stuffed and barely managed to try the two desserts that were part of the 7 course meal. Also we say 7 courses but that’s excluding two rounds of amuse-bouches before and the sweet treats they give you with your bill. So it’s more like 10 course meal. As much as I enjoyed it, I think it was excessive and I would have preferred the A La Carte choice as it includes some “experience dishes” which involve cooking in front of you as it is for the Crepe Suzette for instance or the Pigeon from my understanding. These can be more memorable experiences. However, you will then be charged a separate 55£ fee for the show part of the evening. We paid about £320 per person with barely any alcohol. ENTERTAINMENT It started off with a live band, then live singing with the band, then dancing and finally back to the live band where customers can go to the dance floor between courses and enjoy some dancing. It’s very traditional and wholesome to watch. Once in a life experience to do in my opinion. STAFF/SERVICE This is a 1 star Michelin and honestly as much as we befriended some of the young staff members, we thought the service wasn’t Michelin worthy. We asked for both still and sparkling but only got still. We asked for wine and this was brought 30min later. We were not offered stools for handbags as some of the other tables. The waiters kept hitting the back of my sister’s head when passing behind her. Overall all minor things that did not impact our experience but simply not the perfection you expect from the most iconic hotel in the country. Another thing you should remember is that this is an experience and you will be there for a VERY long time. We sat down at 7:45pm and left 4h later… ATMOSPHERE Breathtaking, end of. A dream come true to visit the iconic Ritz, an institution in British culture from the royals to Churchill to what it is still today. A pleasure to be there. PS: dress code is very strict

Beautiful place with the loveliest staff. Very attentive service and at every step catered for lactose free diet for me. It was my birthday treat and I was suprised with a lovely cake and happy birthday played on the piano .food was delicious and the pink champagne just added to the wonderful experience. We have just had the best time at teh Ritz, from the moment we were welcomed at the kirbside of our taxi until we checked out the service and friendleness of everyone was just outstanding. The afternoon tea was just so good as was the breakfast all made so much better than any other hotel by the extremley attentative staff. We cannot wait to come back.

An amazing experience. Afternoon tea booked for my moms 60th birthday. It’s something she’s always wanted to do so we all went along for the fun. We received the warmest possible welcome by the doormen who I would like to give a special call out to. They could not have been more welcoming to the six of us. Nothing was too much trouble, happy to take and pose with us for pictures and even encouraged this to help us enjoy the experience. They took our suitcases with no issue at all. Clock room staff were very down to earth and great to chat to. Service continued with a sense of excellence from all. The room sang happy birthday to my mom with a special cake just for her. The afternoon tea itself was also fantastic, everything was quickly replenished upon request. 5/5 Thank you to The Ritz London team and a special shout out to the front doormen on the morning of the 12th of Feb 2024.

A very good restaurant in a nice hotel. The food was of the best quality and tasted excellent. All 7 courses of the experience menu were wonderful. The corresponding Prestige Selection wines were all fantastic (excellent wine list). The service was always present without being intrusive, very friendly, polite and courteous. We had a very nice evening.

Refined elegance at its very best!

Had a fantastic experience at the Ritz for my birthday. Everything was very tasty and the « arts de la table » menu was very well executed and entertaining (you’re at the Ritz after all!). The only negative point is not related to the evening itself but concerns the communication during the booking process which I’ve found impersonal and poor for an establishment of such standard.

Can't really be described enough it was a fantastic experience , made to feel really special and lovely touches like your own teapot each , and I didn't think a sandwich could taste so good , along with cakes absolutely faultless , review cannot do it justice , just book an see for yourself.

I took my mum to The Ritz for champagne afternoon tea to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday. Wow were we spoilt rotten. The staff gave us second to none service. The food was divine. It was a second to none experience.

The dining experience is nothing short of exceptional. It's only when arrive that you appreciate the dress code. The Restaurant is even more beautiful than in the photographs. The service and food is 10/10 - served with drama and theatre. Would highly recommend

Afternoon Tea at The Ritz has definitely been on my bucket list for a while and today I got to tick that off. The Ritz itself is, as I had imagined, beautiful. A feast for the eyes. The area where you eat Afternoon Tea is full of splendour and all the food was delicious and plentiful. All sandwiches & cakes were so tasty, with lots of different choices. Without us asking, we were offered extra sandwiches & scones at no extra charge. You could also have a choice of more than one kind of tea, so absolutely worth the money, but it’s not cheap at £84. Staff were very friendly and attentive. All in all I’m very happy I got to tick this off today 🤩🤩

For a dinner full of glamour and style, i would recommend this special restaurant. We dinned in for our anniversary and was superb! Food great, service top notch, just amazing! Oh, you need a tie for the restaurant.

Incredible Xmas decorations in the lobby and the corridor leading up to the dining room. The decor in the main room - paintings, chandeliers, ornaments - was breathtaking and definitely lived up to the name of the venue. Service was impeccable - staff were knowledgeable, thorough and professional. Food was ornate - great for taking pictures - more dégustation, less a tummy filler But we’ll worth the experience. Lovely way to while away an afternoon. A treat, and a tick off the London bucketlist

Lovely champagne tea at the Ritz. Catered for all dietary requirements and plenty top ups for the sandwiches so there is no way of leaving hungry.

Good design, a bit dated and faded in places. 1980s style vibes. Lobster starter very overcooked, quite rubbery (the the chef must have known, as the tail and claw were both a half (so cut, and if you cut it, you know how it's cooked) - very very low standards: worst lobster I've ever had). Deer was nice, but the accompaniments didn't really go with it. Mediocre really, bad for the price. Dessert however, was amazing. Possibly the best I've ever had. If you go here, 100% go for dessert!

Very difficult to find words to describe dining at the Ritz Restaurant. I’ll keep this short and sweet - it’s a real treat, one of the most romantic spots you’ll dine at - with service, food and ambience second to none. For a special occasion, truly nothing can beat the Ritz.

Health permitting I intend to visit The Ritz restaurant at least once a year until the good Lord calls me , yes it’s that good 3 course lunch for £85 is expensive but on a special occasion well worth it , Michelin have been underrating this restaurant with only 1 star for years , hopefully they will see sense and on the 8th February give it the 2 stars it so deserves, I say 3 course but with that you get amuse bouche and petite fours , the exceptional food and service are 2nd to none in London, check out my photos, the menus are seasonal , already planing our next visit 🙏👨🏻‍🍳

Love dining at The Ritz, intend to visit from Northern Ireland at least once a year , amazing iconic hotel with fabulous haute cuisine and service 2nd to none . Where do I start........ The attention to every single detail is second to none. From the moment you're received in the establishment, you are treated as though you belong and will not leave dissatisfied. The staff have mastered the ability to remain 100% attentive without constantly coming to the table asking if you're OK. Before ordering, we were introduced to our 3 servers, all very specific in their roles and dare I say it masters of their arts. The wine menu resembles a manual. However, the sommelier makes it feel and appears to be minimal with his in-depth knowledge and suggestions for perfect accompanying wine. The food, 😁 let me take a moment to reflect........Every single course has been expertly designed, prepared, and delivered. The explanations when the food arrives again is second to none. I won't suggest what to order as I am extremely comfortable in consigning the entire menu...however I must make specific mention of the banana soufflé 😆 absolutely THE BEST desert I've had and from initial spoonful I was already upset in knowing eventually it would be finished. The ability to create such a light, airy, tasteful desert is an artwork in itself. I could go on and on but will simply encourage anyone reading this review to make your booking and experience high-end service and food immediately!!

I visited the restaurant in October 2023 and found my experience underwhelming. The vegetarian food quality and quantity was poor. However, the decor and musicians were great. I had multiple staff serving my table which felt impersonal and disruptive. I wouldn't visit the Ritz restaurant again.
