Amazing food, lovely service. Loved that you have to ring the bell to come in, feels like you're being welcomed into someone's home (a rich someone no less). Lovely eclectic art. Clean and nicely decorated bathrooms. Food was just excellent. Loved it all and you'll definitely leave full and satisfied which isn't always the case with fine dining. The autumn menu was warming, rich in flavour, and very diverse in texture. Great combinations and definitely some new experiences! Would recommend

Our first time back at Gaultier for a vegan meal ( we are not vegan) and it was delicious. The innovative dishes and deep umami flavours were truly impressive. Compliments to the chefs and we will be back ! Highly recommended 👏👏👏

Everything was wonderful. I was expecting something good, but this exceeded my expectations. Creative. Innovative. Fun. Delicious. Intelligent. I appreciate that the dishes were not just vegan versions of traditional food. The “grand dîner” was a perfect way to spend a night out in London.

We came in for the Christmas lunch during our trip and it was the greatest meal we’ve ever had. Every dish was perfect. I’m glad to have tried the tasting menu, it was wonderful from start to finish. I’m so glad there is a vegan restaurant that offers this kind of experience. We will always remember it.

I’m going to award 5 stars because I think it must have taken a lot of courage for Gauthier to go vegan and give up what was likely quite a comfortable income stream from his earlier non-veg cuisine which had a large loyal following. However, as a life long vegetarian, I was a bit disappointed with the tasting menu in the sense that it was still attempting to dress vegetables up as meat. There was faux scallops, faux black pudding, faux gras, faux this faux that etc, which I personally found irritating. I’m vegetarian because (among other reasons) I love the taste of vegetables. And the thing with vegetables is that there are infinitely many of them and they come in all possible textures, tastes and flavours you could dream of. At the hands of a taltented chef (which Gauthier clearly is) they could be elevated to great heights. There is a whole world of possibilities. Travel to Asia or Africa or Souh America and you come across vegetables you havent heard of, untouched by the western palate. There is a huge opportunity here for a chef to explore this area, and really celebrate this inexplored variety- the chance to be a culinary Columbus. So its somewhat disappointing that all we get is how they can be made to look and taste like meat. Why not celebrate veggies for what they are? Ok now that the constructive criticism is out of the way, the meal was perfectly decent. Everything tasted good, the service was attentive, the waiter was excellent with his wine recommendations. The wait staff at the door could have been a little warmer and friendlier, but on the whole it was a good experience. I would certainly recommend a visit or two.

Really outstanding. My partner said it's his best ever meal. On the autumn menu the dessert bombe is possibly the best dessert I've ever eaten. Looking forward to the next season's menu!

The courses were varied and creatively conceived. In total, there mat have been too many, so perhaps 1 fewer might leave guests sated but not feeling overly full.

Amazing food - I’m not vegan but was there with my son who is. The extremely talented chefs work really hard to make a plant based menu this good - it’s innovative exciting and above all delicious . The staff were knowledgeable and charming and we felt very welcome.

Everything was as expected and more! Each dish was a delight. I will be back

Great food, had the non alcoholic pairing which I wasn't keen on so will opt for alcohol next time. As usual it's very difficult to hear the serving staff when explaining each dish - we personally don't think it's necessary to explain every time prior to eating, they don't do this anywhere else and I just want to eat lol ! Aside from that will always be going back, staff are friendly and professional.

Few places have perfected the vegan fine dining experience, and tonight’s meal at Gauthier felt like it hit the mark better than most. Truffle pasta was the highlight, and the pear chocolate dessert was a close second!

It’s amazing to find a restaurant doing a vegan tasting menu so I was very excited to go for my birthday in a group of 8 Some of the courses were delicious others not so. Overall for a 10 course tasting menu the courses were too big. So most people couldn’t eat the last course at all. Very little ambience in the restaurant but made awful by the staff moving tables and stacking chairs high right next to us ready for cleaning, I assume, but that happened before we were even given our last course. I wouldn’t go back unfortunately.

We had a fantastic experience: not only was the food incredible (the squash was out of this world), but the staff's descriptions introduced the dishes beautifully. The atmosphere was extremely pleasant and so were the non alcoholic pairings. Highly recommended.

Really lovely! Staff are super helpful, explain the dishes really well and the timing of the tasting menu was well done so we were not waiting for too long each plate. The dishes were really nice, especially one of the canapés with artichoke, was to die for. Thank you!

The food and service are impeccable here, the vegan caviar and ‘faux gras’ are truly lovely. The only downside is not to the restaurants detriment, just being in the area means you will have city people talking loudly about money, business and misery so favourably, which spoils any mood.

Visiting from the US and this was the highlight of my London trip! Had the ten course autumn dinner with the non alcoholic drink pairing. Everything was tasty and beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful culinary experience, and look forward to being back on my next trip to London, and visiting your other restaurants!

Definitely worth visiting. The vegan food was very tasty and I just loved the open kitchen, which gives a very special feeling. Also, the chef was very organized and calm (no yelling in an open kitchen!) and open for feedback and questions. And thanks for writing Happy Birthday with chocolate on the desert plate!

Beautiful food. Initial.mix-up about where we were sitting was compensated by private room and free champagne throughout the meal fir my 75th birthday.

Very extravagant Grand Diner with delicious morsels of food. The 3 waiters were a bit chaotic, I'd rather have just one. All 3 spoke in whispers so despite asking them to all speak up several times. The room is like sitting in someone's living room, which was a bit odd. The acoustics in the room are so bad my wife and I felt like we were shouting at each other. Watch out for the service charge, at 15% on a meal for 2 ours was £50!

Food was AMAZING! But service not so much. I got a cocktail that had no taste. When I requested to exchange it. The waiter was arguing with me. Then instead of a happy anniversary message they gave him a happy birthday message. It was not terrible but the service was nowhere near as elegant as the food and restaurant

We have eaten at Gauthier, Soho many times. We have always been very happy with the impeccable service and the outstanding food. The tasting menu has many dishes of delicious and complex flavours and the evening feels very, very special. I would highly recommend Gauthier to vegans and non-vegans alike.

My partner and I went here as our "fancy outing" whilst in London, visiting from Australia, and it was just fantastic. You definitely pay for it, but for the overall experience, it is worth every penny. And then you have the food. Incredible food, really, just incredible Staff were also lovely in explaining what each course was, accommodating any questions we had Highly recommend

The best meal I've ever had. My partner and I were completely blown away by what they were able to do with the ingredients and the flavours they were able to create. On top of all that it was entirely vegan which just feels like such an incredible feat. Will be very happy to return and try put a new menu next time!

I adore the mission of this chef & restaurant and we had a very enjoyable and tasty anniversary meal here. We had the autumn menu, which was varied, fresh, original and intriguing. The bread is to die for, and the canapés were a flavour explosion. Lovely wait staff and sommelier. A pricey meal, yes, but knocks the socks off many other vegetarian tasting menus in town.

Such a unique experience, with delicious food! I enjoyed the autumn truffle and the sumac pain feuillete. The servers were very kind and thorough. The atmosphere was warm, with soft lighting and music.

Best vegan meal I’ve had. The tasting menu had a beautiful assortment of flavors and the ambiance of the restaurant was very peaceful.

The doorway of the rather charming townhouse was crowded with customers - we were having to open the door behind us to let fellow diners into the restaurant when the door bell rang - not quite how I imagined starting my evening. We were met by a very stern & unwelcoming Frenchman with long brown hair at the door way; he seemed to be trying to make us feel like we should have felt grateful for being there - which I thought was surprising given we’d all been doing his job for him by letting people into the restaurant out of the drizzling rain. The floors of the townhouse were not even, so my husband sat at the “top” of the slanted table and I sat at the “bottom”, which made for an uncomfortable dining experience. I think the uneven floors of period properties are generally charming but I found it was a genuine hindrance to dining on this occasion. We had the set menu but nobody bothered to explain anything about it, or asked us if we wanted to start with drinks, etc. I had to ask for a drinks menu proactively and straight after that the staff simply started serving the courses without warning. We had a lovely waitress who explained the dishes nicely and answered all the questions I had. The courses themselves were fine for the most part but nothing really blew us away, the brioche was delicious as a starter though. We also had the non-alcoholic drinks paring which was very experimental (I appreciated the concepts but some drinks were very hard to stomach being savoury and vegetal for example). The presentation of each dish was generally quite “nice”. I would give it 3 stars but it was saved by the lovely lady who was our waitress, the fact that they had wonderfully diverse set of staff which was striking and heartening to see (especially as fine dining can be so conservative in some ways), that the food is vegan which is such a rarity in fine dining circles in London and because it was relatively affordable.

We went here for a birthday dinner and it’s was so lovely! The atmosphere was so relaxing with a lovey open fire. The service was spot on, our server was very attentive. The food was delicious and well presented. We didn’t opt for the wine paring during our meal. We picked a cocktail and a glass was wine which was also great! We would highly recommended this place for a special occasion ❤️

Phenomenal experience, just transcendental

This was a beautiful evening and the food was amazing. So many good tastes and it looks så nice and creative. The people who works here are so nice. I will live long on this evening and we will come back again, next visit in London :)

The menu is wonderfully balanced. Each course was purposeful and very delicious. The "fish" course was a highlight. I was very confused to be eating a vegan fish course but it was utterly delicious. The pan fueillete was amazing, so buttery and with an amazing dill, roast marrow and yoghurt accompaniment. Finally the pear, caramel and dark chocolate dessert was phenomenal, so light but with amazing texture. The service was excellent, in particular our sommelier who had excellent recommendations on the wine to pair with each course. A big thank you to the Gauthier team for making a wonderful anniversary lunch!

Fantastic experience, much more than just a meal! my Partner is a carnivore and I'm vegan, we both adored every course, the food is exceptionally good and the service is perfect, this isn't your everyday meal out, it felt special and we can't wait to go back.
