The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving French food

This place is very close to our house. We buy cakes from there for all the occasions. Cakes are always fresh and tasty. They also do breakfast and coffee. I recommend this place.

As with many others Le Manoir has been on my ‘Bucket list’ for a long time. We finally went on my birthday (4th May) and it was everything I had hoped it would be. We didn’t stay but had accommodation only a few minutes away in a 17th century converted barn. On arrival we had champagne in the lounge while we looked over the menu. We went for the 7 course tasting menu and upgraded to the Wagu beef. We have to say everything about our evening was outstanding, the food was a delicious selection of stunning dishes that were beautiful to look at and wonderful to eat. The staff were outstanding in their professionalism but most importantly super friendly and just made us feel very welcome. It was a fabulous way to celebrate my birthday, I felt like a VIP! We said it was a once in a lifetime visit…. But I suspect we’ll save up to go again!! Yes it’s very expensive but it was SO worth it. Thank you Le Manoir.

Overall experience was reminiscent of the chef’s previous restaurant, Gordon Ramsay. It was good but over-hyped and certainly not on a 3 star level. The sauces were unbelievable however. Beyond that, the food and pairings were good but not incredible. Still, both the service and atmosphere were lovely.

Lovely service, superb food and wine across the whole range (from sides to mains, wines to desserts) and a beautiful cozy ambiance. We always stop by when visiting Newcastle :)

During our overnight stop in Inveraray, we enjoyed a great dinner at Samphire. I made reservations but we ended up arriving earlier and got seated right away. We came for the seafood and were not disappointed. There were just so many good choices to pick from. The smoke salmon fettuccine was creamy and good. The fish special was actually sea bream which was the first time eating it cooked instead of as sashimi. It came out whole and I butchered the deboning. The seasoning was excellent and the fish was delicate and sweet. We ended dinner by eating our very first sticky toffee pudding and enjoyed it very much. Moist pudding made of dates which we complemented by the toffee sauce and scoop of vanilla ice cream. A great finish. Service was very attentive and friendly throughout.

Wow! This was a fantastic treat. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, great service, very reasonably priced indeed for the excellentquality… what a discovery Muse is. Will definitely go back. Thank you for a brilliant lunch.

Bouvardia, un hermoso restaurante de alta cocina situado en las colinas a las afueras del centro de la ciudad de Bath. La impresionante presentación, limpieza y atención al detalle son evidentes a partir de su enfoque; la estética se ha pulido hasta el último detalle. Los jardines son de tamaño íntimo: con solo diez mesas ofrecidas, el servicio es rápido y atento, lo que significa que su comida es fresca y caliente! Hay un hermoso salón y bar junto al restaurante principal. Adjunto es Bathen House Hotel y aunque no nos alojamos, solo puedo imaginar que las suites son de similar alta calidad. El personal fue inmediatamente acogedor y atento durante toda nuestra comida, sabiendo cuándo acercarse y cuándo darle espacio - perfecto para una noche de cita íntima! La comida, desde entrantes hasta postres, era deliciosa. Cada plato estaba claramente diseñado con amor; la paleta y las texturas estaban perfectamente equilibradas. Cada nota base de umami se cortaba con una explosión brillante de una guarnición o aderezo. La riqueza equilibrada con notas delicadas y aromáticas. Ya sea que seas un poco esnob de la comida o simplemente disfrutes salir para una buena comida, apreciarás este menú. Pedimos el miso de berenjena y tomate, y buñuelos feta para comenzar; risotto de porcini, y lubina como principales; cardamomo y ruibarbo panna cotta, y chocolate torte de naranja con sorbete de naranja sangre para terminar. Por otro lado teníamos patatas delfines, y brócoli de tallo tierno con aderezo de anchoa. Mis favoritas fueron la berenjena miso y el cardamomo y ruibarbo panna cotta. La berenjena estaba perfectamente carbonizada, ahumada y con nueces, con el sésamo añadiendo algo de interés textural al bocado. La nuez caramelizada combinada con el rábano brillante era DIVINA. La crema de cardamomo tenía un perfil delicioso de biscuidad, con un final increíblemente jugoso y afrutado. El único, muy menor, negativo que podría ofrecer es que nuestros lados podrían haber hecho con un poco de algo extra. La delfinosa estaba ligeramente seca en las capas internas (aunque realmente aprecié que no se estaba ahogando en crema espesa) , y el brócoli podría haber hecho con un poco más de aderezo de anchoa. Incluso los vinos de la casa estaban a leguas por encima de las ofertas habituales! En general, tendría que darle a nuestra experiencia 5 estrellas, realmente no podríamos fallar. Very poor communication in respect of getting back to you and enquiring about vegetarian meals. Still not resolved . Asked for vegetarian option for April, after 3 attempts at contacting them . Still haven't seen a menu even though I was told it would be available early April.

Came for a night of live music and a burger and fries. The burger was freshly cooked and full off flavour and a proper thick burger. The fries where also freshly cooked and not greasy. Good sized portions you pay for what you get as they say. The prices are good and staff very friendly.

Great views and great food. The steak was fast and delicious. Serene and tranquil - would visit again.

Toilet stank so bad we had to move table. The prawn cocktail was unusual, but it was nice. The rest of the party had pasta, and it wasn't great. The price doesn't justify the quality of food. The server was nice they moved our table as we could smell the toilet from where we were sitting originally.

Dejamos a nuestro hijo en casa de la abuela y pensamos que conseguiríamos un curry. Este es nuestro restaurante favorito. El personal te hace sentir como en familia. La comida siempre es de primera calidad, hecha con amor y pasión. Todos los que entran son recibidos tan encantadores. Tiene una sensación familiar muy encantadora. No puedo esperar a volver en unas semanas.

We have been regulars at L’Artisan for many years. It was our absolute favourite restaurant and we were devastated when it closed. Yves was a magician in the kitchen; the food was always fabulous and imaginative, the presentation beautiful and the ambience wonderful. Elisabeth always made us very welcome, with hugs and kisses all round, as did Anna, their lovely waitress. It was such a relaxed atmosphere and we loved talking to Yves when he emerged from the kitchen to chat with clients. What shall we do now without you? Lesley & Roger
