Decent all round coffee house on the site of a former coffee house. No frills but with good coffee.

Visited on a wednesday evening with husband and two kids. The service was delightful and the food was out of this world! I had salt and pepper squid to start, it was the best I’ve ever had in any country. We also had a scallops started and a smoked mackerel pate starter that were equally delicious. The kids loved the garlic prawns wrapped in a fillet of plaice. Monkfish in a peppercorn sauce was a revelation and the thai red seafood curry was heavenly (just the right side of a chilli kick). Desserts were good too! Highly recommend this charming little place.

Oh I just love this place! We went last night for a Bastille dinner. The food was spectacular, I had a vegetarian Wellington which was absolutely delicious, except it was enormous,covered nearly two thirds of the plate and I felt guilty leaving some. My husband had a steak which was perfectly cooked. This place has a fantastic atmosphere. Small but perfectly formed and buzzing with happy conversation. Thank you Anita Claire for another great meal and evening.

Brighton has a lot of good restaurants but this is head and shoulders above anything else. Probably the best we’ve ever eaten anywhere including Michelin stars. Service is fantastic- friendly and attentive without being intrusive. It was hard to pick a favourite dish because they were all so good

1890's Beautiful surroundings with very welcoming staff set the scene for a fabulous lunch of delicious & superbly presented food accompanied by great wine pairing & service. Looked after extremely well, thank you to the whole team for such a wonderful experience. If you get the opportunity you must go.

Fabulous hidden gem. Lovely range of home made food. We had a quick lunch break at work and enjoyed a toasted sandwich and Welsh rarebit. Delicious! They are licensed too, so have a glass of wine...

Cafe noir was just amazing! I walked in with a kind welcome from the staff! Very friendly and quick with the order. The food was delicious. 5/5 experience!

I have been coming to this place for over two years now, I like the warm welcome and I tried most of the French and Caribbean menu. I am not a great eater but must say that all of the dishes are my favourites!

The pub has a traditional layout, and if you are going for food take the door on the right. The left goes to the normal bar. Despite not booking they accommodated us with a fuss. The welcome was warm and friendly. The food was excellent, the steak we both had was cooked to our liking and tasted amazing. Would definitely eat here again.

What a great little place this is - a real asset to the high street with an interesting menu and wine list. We were there on a very busy Friday evening and staff were working hard to serve everyone with drinks and food orders. We had a bit of a wait for our food but, in the meantime, we enjoyed a bottle of wine and we got chatting to a couple of ladies on the next table - it's that type of place, friendly and informal. Our sharing platter was fabulous, I love this idea of a bit of everything on a plate! All in all, a great evening and experience. Our only disappointment is that we don't live nearer to De la Terre - we'd be frequent diners if we did!

Excelente calidad. Todo en las eclairs está hecho desde cero y la calidad y el sabor son excelentes. Esta es una de las joyas escondidas culinarias de Edimburgo.

Es agradable encontrar un lugar que permanece abierto un poco más en un sábado, personal muy servicial, agradable y paciente , a última hora del día pero una maravillosa selección de comida disponible, incluso con gente que viene constantemente. Can Hartley recomienda . (solo desventaja no hay crema para el café pero leche azul disponible. ) Justo lo que esperas encontrar cuando estés fuera de casa y necesites ese pequeño impulso. Grandes pasteles y Saverys y una gran selección de pan. Una visita obligada para cualquiera que viva local o visite la zona.
